It took Kagome 24 hours to gather the materials. She didn't really want to murder an innocent fawn, but you got to do what you got to do in order to resurrect your friends.
Before Kagome hopped into the well, she double-checked to see if she had everything.
“Blood of a fawn, check; a Sakura plant-check; an unborn Robin, check and the spell, check. OK, Kirara, ready?” Kagome looked down. She picked Kirara up and went down the Bone Eater's Well.
Kaede was waiting for Kagome at the graves. She didn't agree with the plan at all, but the puppy eyes pressured her into it.
“Hi Kaede! Isn't it a wonderful night to bring back the dead?” joked Kagome. Kaede just shook her head.
They sat in front of the three graves. Kagome presented the three things she needed in order to please the gods and goddesses. She took the spell out from her pocket and unfolded it.
“I call the powers of the universe and beyond. I beg you to release these three souls to come back to this world: Sango, Miroku, and Shippo. I offer you these offerings to trade for their souls. Mote it be!”
All of a sudden, gashes appeared on her arm and were bleeding. Kaede's eyes widened. “Mote it be!” she screamed again. She bended over and opened her mouth. A big, long snake slithered out. Kaede made a look of disgust. Then, she saw strange bulb things crawling under Kagome's skin.
“Oh my, Kagome!” whispered Kaede.
Kagome started to breathe hard and kept yelling “Mote it be!” There were more trials. There were times that she wanted to quit, but she held on. Nothing was going to stop her. She came too far to back down now.
A figure appeared. “You are strong, human. You may have your friends back,” it said and vanished.
The two women looked down. The ground started to shake. They were frozen to the ground. Kirara was prancing around `I'm going to see Sango, Shippo, and Miroku again.' Kirara thought.
All at once, they saw three pairs of hands reach above the ground. Kaede and Kagome shrieked. “Come on Kaede, help me get them out,” ordered Kagome as she leapt to her feet. They helped their friends get out of the cold ground.
Kagome gasped. They looked the same before they were murdered. The three brushed off dirt from their clothes and hair.
“Hello my lady Kagome. It's nice to see you again,” said Miroku. Kagome nodded and fainted.
“What's wrong with Kagome?” asked Shippo with great concern on his face.
“Oh, she's exhausted. She's been through a lot to have you all back,” replied Kaede.
“How long have we been gone?” Sango questioned.
“A little over a year. There's much we should tell you, but let's wait until morning. You three should bathe. I'll leave fresh clothes for you,” said Kaede.
Not too far away, a demon with glowing red eyes was watching them. What Midoriko forgot to tell Kagome is, when you bring back the dead there are great consequences.
