A New Look………And A Milkshake

Kagome and Inuyasha were sitting a little dairy-treat shop at a two-person table. They had just got done shopping for some underwear, shirts, shorts, pants, sneakers, and sandals for Inuyasha. Inuyasha had left with a nice white cotton T-shirt, some khaki shorts, and a pair of flip-flops. Kagome had also gone to the optometrist for a pair of green colored eye contacts to hide Inuyasha's yellow youkai eyes, and she had also gone to a hat shop and had Inuyasha pick a cute Aeropostale cap.

Kagome fumed violently as hoards of girls came rushing up to Inuyasha, each one begging to be his girlfriend. How pathetic, she thought, the first thing they say when they see him is "Oh, wow, you're cute! Can I be your girlfriend?" Retards……… The tiny store was almost bursting at the seams from the crowd of teenage girls surrounding Kagome and Inuyasha's table.

Inuyasha just sat there and looked stupidly around him. Why are all these girls staring and drooling over me? I'm not that "cute," am I? "Girls, girls! Just calm down!

Please, just leave me to my milkshake!"

One of the girls close to the front of the crowd asked, "Is that your girlfriend? Sitting there with you?"

Another girl whined and acted like she was going to cry. "Oh, no! You CAN'T have a girlfriend! You just came to town!"

Kagome couldn't take it anymore. "WOULD YOU ALL JUST GO AWAY AND LEAVE US ALONE?!?! NO, HE DOESN'T HAVE A GIRLFRIEND, AND HE'S NOT INTERESTED IN ANY OF YOU!!! So, BUZZ OFF!!!" She sat back down and continued sipping her milkshake. Okay, she couldn't blame them for thinking he was hot, but the way they hung on him! Disgusting! It was almost a burden having a good fashion sense. Especially when it came to Inuyasha.

Everyone in the shop froze in mid-movement and stared at the crazy girl sitting with the hunk. After a glare from Kagome that provided powerful "MOVE IT" the teenagers silently vacated the premises and formed a beeline out of the ice cream shop.

"Ah, much better. I like how peaceful this little shop is, don't you?"

"Um, y-yeah, sure………" What's up with her today? he thought. One minute, she's really calm and in control. Almost fun to be with. The next, she's gone haywire, screaming at everyone, and then she's back to her old self again! Women………

The shop was completely silent after the small conversation. The couple sat and finished their milkshakes. Afterwards, Kagome and Inuyasha began walking around the mall aimlessly until the young woman made a suggestion.

"Wanna see a movie?"

"What's a movie?"

Kagome almost hit herself for not realizing that he'd never know what a movie was. She quickly explained what a movie was, and asked again if he wanted to go. He agreed, wanting to know more about this place and time. They arrived at the theater, and Kagome bought tickets to see the latest movie available. She led her disguised companion into a semi-dark room and picked seats in the middle of the middle row. The perfect place! This is gonna turn out great!

Kagome told Inuyasha to wait while she went and got some refreshments. While she was gone, the previews came on. Is this the movie? Inuyasha thought. This is what Kagome brought me to see? I don't know why she makes such a big deal about it. She came back right before the movie began. "Kagome, this is stupid. Can we leave? And I thought you said that movies lasted a long time."

Kagome gave him a confused look and noticed that the previews had stopped playing. "Oh! Those weren't the movie! Those were just the things that come before the movie………" Kagome's voice trailed off as she looked over Inuyasha's shoulder. Her face suddenly went sour, causing Inuyasha's head to turn to see what was behind him.

"Wha-What are you doin' here?! Didn't Kagome tell you to stay away?"

The girl in the seat next to him put her arm around his, batting her eyes flirtatiously. "Hi, my name's Kirai. What's yours?" Kirai tightened her grip on Inuyasha's arm.

"It's `None of your business!' So take a hike!" Kagome glared at the girl who was making a move on Inuyasha. She can-NOT take my guy! Besides, it's not like he'd want to be with her anyway. He likes me, and I like--. Where'd that thought come from?! I don't like him! I like Hojo! I mean, sure I blew off our last two dates because I got worried about………well, certainly not Inuyasha! It was Shippo. Yeah, that's it. I was afraid that Inuyasha had abandoned him or something……… Oh, who am I kidding? I was worried about Inuyasha, whether I like to admit it or not. Kagome suddenly noticed the look she was getting from Inuyasha. "What?"

"Uh, nothing. Hey!" Kirai had just pulled Inuyasha over towards her. "Leggo of me! Why won't you leave me alone?"

Kirai ran a finger across his cheek. "Because you're a cutie! Will you go out with me? Forget about Higurashi. Do you know what kinda marks she gets in school?!"

"Huh?" Kagome was confused, but then realized that Kirai was in her Algebra class at school. "Wait, I know you! You're the hoity toity teacher's pet in Mr. Yakima's class! What are you doin' here?"

"Hey, I can go to the movies, can't I? It's one of my hobbies, and I enjoy the movie even more when I'm sitting by a hottie like this guy or Hojo." She looked at Inuyasha, and pouted overdramatically. "Aren't you going to tell me your name?"

"Um………it's-mrrrppphhhh!" Inuyasha couldn't speak his name because Kagome put her hand over his mouth. He gently removed it from his face and turned toward Kagome. "What's wrong with you? Why don't you want her to know my name?"

Kagome turned away blushing. She muttered something only Inuyasha could hear with his wolf ears. "Because she always steals other girls' boyfriends. And I don't want you to go with her." She quietly fumed and refused to look at Inuyasha.

Ah, so this was jealousy! Now he understood why she had acted so weird at the dairy-treat shop and just now. "Kagome………Let's move up a row."

Kagome turned her head around so fast it might have given anyone else whiplash. She almost slapped him when he quietly laughed at her surprised expression. "Sure, why not." To emphasize that they were to go to the next row alone, she shot a death glare at Kirai before getting up. Kirai just smirked and stared back with confidence.

I'll get him, Kirai thought. Sooner or later, he'll be mine………
