Chapter 1 - New Kid at School

 

“Hey Kagome not sick today” teased Eri

“Not today” said Kagome cheerfully

“Um excuse me” said a gentle male voice

Kagome and her friends turned around. Standing behind her was a handsome looking man. He was just under 6 foot tall with gentle golden eyes. He had long white hair which fell to his shoulders before becoming a ponytail.

“Konnten sie erzählen sie mir bitte-” he started, speaking rapidly in German.

Kagaome and her friends stared at him.

“I'm sorry. Could you please tell me where Class A is?” he said in flawless Japanese.

“Sure thing” said Yuka taking his arm. “I'll show you around the school too if you'd like”

“Ich möchte so sehr viel” he replied as he was led away

He turned back and winked at Kagome, Eri and Ayumi.

“Wonder who the mystery man is?” asked Eri

“Maybe he's a teacher” said Ayumi

“I don't think so Ayumi. He was wearing the school uniform”

Kagome listened to her friends argue as the headed to class. So their class had a new student. For some reason she got a strange vibe from him. Kagome sat down at her desk and pulled out her books, waiting for the teacher to start the lesson.

“Class we have a new student” said Tanaki-sensei

Kagome looked up. The man from earlier was standing at the front of the class.

“Class this is is Tatsuyoshi Taisha. He has moved to Japan from Germany and I expect you to treat him with the respect he deserves.”

Tatsuyoshi bowed and sat at the empty desk next to Kagome. Kagome blinked as his books just appeared on his desk. As in poof suddenly there. Nobody else seemed to notice anything so she kept her mouth shut during the lesson.

 

Kagome looked up in surprise as the bell rang. Was class over already? She gathered her books and stood up. As she was leaving someone put a hand on her shoulder. She turned around and gasped. It was Tatsuyoshi.

“Kagome-domo can we talk?”

“Hai”replied Kagome nervously

He sat down on one of the desks, his books held loosely in his hands.

“I noticed you seem to be struggling”

“Huh? Oh no I'm fine”

“Look Kagome-domo if you need help just ask. I'd be more than happy to assist you”

“Kagome have you finished hogging Tatsuyoshi or do i have to wait till after the next class to show him around?” asked Yuka

Kagome laughed

“You can have him Yuka”

Yuka dragged Tatsuyoshi away quickly, before Kagome had a chance to change her mind. She sighed. Who was she kidding? She needed all the help she could get with her studies. Maybe she would ask during there next class. She walked out of the classroom and put her books in her locker. The break wasn't a long one so Kagome got out the books for her next class and wandered through the halls. Kagome was the first peron to arrive in class. To her surprise Tatsuyoshi sat down next to her not long after.

“That Yuka is quite a handful” he said, sitting his books on the desk.

“Yeah she can be” replied Kagome, “Look about the help you offered. I think it would be very useful”

“Ok. Why don't we study for a bit in the library after school”

“That would be great. I really need help if I'm going to pass this year. I don't know how I did it last year”

“You'll be fine Kagome. You have the skills, you just struggle to apply yourself”

Yeah I guess” she replied nervously as the rest of the class slowly filed in.

Kagome paid attention during class as best she could but she couldn't help thinking of Inu Yasha. They had had a big fight before she came back to her time. She hoped he wasn't too angry at her.

She spent so much time worrying about Inu Yasha that class was over before she realized it. In fact Kagome spent the rest of the day thinking about Inu Yasha

“Kagome dono?” asked Tatsuyoshi

“Huh” said Kagome, looking up from her books

“Class is over. Study time”

“Ok Tatsuyoshi” said Kagome, picking up her books.

She followed him to the locker room. They grabbed their books and headed to the libaray. Kagome sat down at an empty desk. Tatsuyoshi smiled and sat down opposite her.

“Ack I can't do this” said Kagome as she looked at her maths work

“Come on Kagome its easy. Remember SOHCAHTOA”

“What?”

Tatsuyoshi sighed and started writing.

“What you doing?”

“Writing you some notes. If you get stuck after using these then aske me for help”

“Oh thankyou”

Kagome kissed him on the cheek gently then blushed brilliantly.

“Jeez its just some notes” said Tatsuyoshi in a mock casual tone as he turnned a little pink.

“I know but no other guy is like this. Not even Inu Yasha”

“Inu Yasha?”

“My boyfriend. He doesn't live around her”

“I see”

“He can be a real jerk sometimes but otherwise he's a nice guy”

“Kagome dono I don't really care. I'm not going to pass judgment”

“Sorry”

“Don't be Kagome dono”

She found herself relaxing as she studied. She had no idea why she had been so nervous around him. Tatsuyoshi was a really nice guy.

 

Author's note: Ok this is a bit of a rewrite. I promised myself when i began i wouldn't bow down to the bad reviews.... and I've failed already. So I've added more filling to bulk out this chapter. Hopefully people will like it better now.Many of you may be wondering about the name Tatsuyoshi. Its actually a name a Japanese exchange student gave me. It means beautiful dragon.
