Chapter Fourteen

“Was that really necessary?!” Kagura asked her master enraged, Naraku just smirked.

“Yes, I think it was,” he said overly happy with him self.

“You are increditably and utterly evil,” the incarnation said, she was going to say more, but he would have taken it as a compliment. One of her best chances of getting rid of him was gone. The inu youkai lord's memory was just lost and therefore his memory of Naraku.

“Yes, thank you,” he interrupted her thoughts. “Now leave before you change my mood,” he said. Kagura smirked.

“Yes master Naraku,” she mocked. “I wouldn't want to put you in a bad mood, now would I?” She went to leave but then turned. “You know, this plain will backfire as have all the others,” she finished before leaving. She continued smirking as she heard something break in the other room.

“Damn wench,” Naraku said as his incarnation left. How much he wanted to kill her, but she was his best weapon, and he wasn't that stupid. Even though he knew her plot to try to get her soul back, he still couldn't get rid of her.

“Unless…” A thought came to him. He held out his hands as solid black energy formed in them. After the energy was collected, two bodies now stud in front of him. With a smirk, he got to work on yet another devious plot.

“Kagome-sama?” Rin said looking at the hanyou next to her.

“Yes?” she looked at the girl.

“Do you think Sesshomaru wants me back?” she asked.

“I wouldn't doubt it.” Kagome said with a smile. “I don't think Sesshomaru would abanded you, you're his mate.”

“You're right,” she smiled, then a thought came to her. “I can't wait until we become sisters.”

“…Uh,” Kagome just looked at the girl, her face became a red that could rival that of a tomato. She quickly looked at Inuyasha in hopes that he didn't hear, but his Gracefulness almost tripped over his own feet. Yea, he head, he just chose to ignore it.

“Wouldn't that be great?!” she said excitedly. Though fully aware that Inuyasha could hear them. In Rin's logic, Kagome and Inuyasha had to become mates. It seemed that they were both too stubborn and afraid of their own feelings to show each other. So it was up to Rin and her `innocent' words.

“Um,” Kagome didn't know what to say. She knew what she wanted, but was she that bold to say it allowed, especially if he was in earshot? Was she even ready to mate Inuyasha after what happened to her in that past month? “Um,” she repeated.

“You know,” Rin stared, closing her eyes. Sesshomaru, almost forgotten in light of a different subject. “You and Inuyasha-sama are great together, you two aren't mated yet?” she inwardly smirked.

“No,” not yet, she thought with a sigh. Ahead of them, they heard Inuyasha have a coughing fit.

“Are you alright?” Miroku asked the hanyou.

“I'm fine,” he said trying to push down his thoughts.

“Are you sure, your face is all red?” The monk said with a knowing smirk.

“I'm fine!” he yelled, everyone turned to look at him.

“Sure you are.” Miroku put a hand on his friend's shoulder.

“Idiots,” Inuyasha mumbled and walked away. Just as everyone else was going to proceed walking, Miroku froze. His blood ran cold as his cursed hand started pulsing. Despite being cold, he was sweating.

“Miroku?” Sango turned to look at the monk. She panicked, and dropped everything to run to him, as did everyone else.

“What the hell-” Inuyasha turned to see everyone crowd Miroku, who was now collapsed to the floor clenching his arm tightly. In one leap, the hanyou quickly ran to him.

“Go away,” the monk whispered. This was it, his curse was finaly going to consume him. Years and years, waiting for this moment he thought he would be ready for this, but he wasn't. He didn't want to die. He wanted to live, he had grown attached to life even when he had tried to teach himself not to.

“Miroku,” Sango said again with tears in her eyes.

“Please, everyone leave,” he repeated. Though, they didn't here him, ether that or they just chose to ignore him.

“Give me his hand,” Kagome said sitting in front of him. Sango picked up his twitching hand and gave it to the inu-miko. She clasped both hands over his cursed one. No sooner did white and purple light develop around them. First it stared around their hands, and then it engulfed their bodies. Everyone else was forced to guard their eyes and back away. When the light died down, they saw the two on the grown opposite each other.

“Miroku, Kagome,” they all yelled at the same time and ran to the two fallen bodies.

“They're unconscious,” a female voice said from behind them. Instinctively, Inuyasha stood in front of Kagome, as did Sango with Miroku.

“Who are you?!” Inuyasha asked torn between approaching the new intruder and stepping away from Kagome.

“Do not worry, I will not attack you,” the youkai said. She had long dark brown hair and bright yellow eyes. Pointed ears were on the side of her head, her lips were violet and purple. She wore a brown cloak that covered her entire body, aside from her head. “I assure you of that,” she said. Inuyasha and Sango didn't look the least bit convinced. The other's seemed to calm somewhat, but were still on high alert. Seeing that they were still rooted to the grown in an attempted to protect their loved ones, Kari rolled her eyes and walked up to the stranger.

“Who are you?” she asked, still blunt as ever. The female youkai blinked.

“I am Terra, earth youkai.”

“State you business,” Kari didn't even bat an eyelash.

“I am in search of a shard of a shard of the Shekon no Tama that was rumored to be around here,” she said with a genuine smile, though it didn't sway Inuyasha in the slightest.

“What!?” Inuyasha said picking Kagome up, still not losing eye contact with the earth youkai.

“What do you need Jewel shards for,” Kari asked, still playing the role of negotiator.

“Have you ever heard of the youkai, Naraku?” Terra asked them. Everyone who was conscious gasped, all but Kari who was still trying to keep her calm appearance.

“Yes, we know of him,” the young inu hanyou said before her uncle had time to say something with out thinking first.

“I need to find him and exact my revenge,” they all let out a breath of relief, all but Inuyasha. “If I search for the shards, I will most likely find him along the way.”

“I don't believe yo-” he was cut off by his niece.

“How do we know what you say is true?” Kari asked, skeptic her self.

“Here,” she pulled out a pouch from around her neck and took out a slither of glass. She held it out in front of her. “If I give you this, will you believe me then?”

“It depends,” said Inuyasha, putting Kagome down next to the others and walked up to where the stranger and his niece were. “How do we know you wont take our shards?”

“What he means,” Kari took at glance to Inuyasha before looking back at the earth youkai, “is that, why should we trust you?”

“You shouldn't, if you did then you would deserve to have the shard taken away from you,” she shrugged. Still that didn't convince Inuyasha, if anything, it made him even angrier.

“I don't-” the hanyou was interrupted when the ground started to shake. Both Kari and Inuyasha took a fighting stance. Within seconds, a giant rock youkai appeared behind Terra.

“Look out!” Kari yelled as a huge bolder lunged itself at the earth youkai. However, before she turned around, Terra closed her eyes and the bolder instantly froze and fell to the ground.

“Terra,” the rock youkai bellowed.

“Well if it isn't my old buddy, Rocky,” she smirked to and opened her eyes to look at the rock youkai.

“My name is Kane, and I am NOT your buddy!” the youkai yelled annoyed.

“Whatever,” the female shrugged. “Anyway, what brings you here?” she asked mockingly.

“You little wench! First you come into my territory, you destroy half my clan, than you take my Shekon shard!” Kane said, all in one breath.

“Well, you should have given it to me when I first asked for it,” she still smirked. “Also, the fact that your whole clan is made of rock, doesn't help in their survival against an earth youkai.”

“I will kill you and avenge their deaths!” he yelled and slammed his large fist down to where Terra once stood.

“With your size, Rocky, you have no chance of beating me whatsoever,” she told him calmly.

“Die!” he yelled. Terra just laughed at his ignorance.

“Ku, ku, ku,” she smirked as she dogged another attack. This is pointless,” she sighed and landed in front of the youkai with her eyes closed.

“I will kill you now!” he threw his fist down to land on Terra's head, but it never succeeded, for the fist was stopped in mid air.

“You fighting me is futile,” she told him opening her eyes. “Or did you forget how I defeated your comrades?” The fist above her head started to shake, then was thrown back at the rock youkai to punch him in that face.

“Damn you!” Kane yelled as he felt his body lose control of itself.

“I think, I'll have a little fun with you before I kill you,” Terra smirked. Everyone else looked in a mixture of shock, horror and awe. They didn't know what to think of Terra's fighting skills. It was too barbaric, that was for sure, even for Inuyasha who had seen his fair share of it. The others didn't really get to think deeply on the subject, for pieces of flying rock came towards them. Kane's arms had been blown off.

“You wench!” he yelled.

“That was fun, now wasn't it?” she asked mockingly. “Let's try the legs next,” she smirked and snapped her fingers. In an instant, the youkai screamed out in pain as his last two limbs were blown away. “That wasn't as much fun as it was before,” Terra pouted. “Oh well,” she shrugged and turned around. As soon as she started to walk to the others, the rock youkai blew up and pieces of rock flew everywhere. Terra smirked.

“It looks like we were too late, the fun started already,” the inu youkai lord said coming out into the open. Jaken rolled his eyes, it seemed ever since Sesshomaru lost his memory, his lord had been talking quite often. His personality was completely different then what is was before.

“Aye, `mi lord,” the toad told him. “Look,” he turned. “There is Rin and you're brother.”

“Really?” Sesshomaru turned to look in the same direction of his servant. “Well then, lets go see what they're doing,” he said and walked to the place where a battle took place not even five minuets ago.

“Why the hell did you do that for!?” Inuyasha asked Terra who walked up to them, smirking.

“I killed him, what did it look like?” she shrugged.

“Did you hear anything about `painless death'?” Sango asked the youkai furiously. She was a Demon hunter, and even she didn't believe in killing brutally like that.

“No, I don't believe I have?” she said thoughtfully.

“Oh my,” Kari interrupted them when she saw someone walking up to them. He looked almost like a splitting image of her mother.

“Sesshomaru!” Rin yelled happily and ran to him. “I'm so happy that you're alright!” she had tears in her eyes as she clung to him. She didn't see the confused look he was giving her.

“…Um?” he looked at his servant for help. He had guessed that this human was his mate. Why would he take a human mate? The question was one of the many he had today.

“Rin-chan?” Jaken said at the side of his lord. Rin took one last look at Sesshomaru before letting him go.

“Yes Jaken?” she said with a slightly confused smile.

“Sesshomaru-sama has lost his memory by the hands of Naraku,” he told her bluntly, seeing as there was no way of beating around the bush.

“What?” she drew in a breath of air. “What do you mean?”

“What the hell are you talking about?!” Inuyasha finaly decided to talk, the new comer all but forgotten for the moment. Jaken did not once look away from Rin, seeing that he didn't like his master's hanyou brother.

“It seems as though that Sesshomaru-sama was not the one who had attacked us,” the toad started. Rin inwardly smiled to her self at that. “Though, as we were getting attacked, Sesshomaru-sama had fought with Naraku and thus lost all of his memory. He can now only remember names.” Jaken finished.

“Oh no,” Rin gasped and looked at her mate, she felt like crying. It seemed that she had lost him even if he was just there. “That can't be right,” she was in denial.

“You're Rin,” Sesshomaru finaly spoke up looking at the girl. She was very familiar to him, like she was the one he felt that he had lost. This human was his mate, and deep down he knew that he loved her. He knew that even if he didn't have his memory. “And you're my brother, Inuyasha,” he said looking at the inu hanyou behind his mate. “You're a hanyou, I would have never seen that one coming,” he said sarcastically.

“You really did lose your memory,” Inuyasha hardly suppressed the urge to laugh at the concept. Rin looked at her mate in surprise. He was looking at her as if he had no idea who she was. She knew what had happened to him, and knew that it wasn't him who attacked her, if it was, he didn't remember. Though, it still hurt her. Maybe she should be glad that he remembered her name, though it didn't help that he remembered everyone else's name as well.

“I don't want to believe it,” she whispered half-heartedly. She had to believe it, she had no choice in the matter.

“Alright,” Terra yawned and stretched, seeing as the air was getting even thicker from when she ruthlessly killed the rock youkai. “It's starting to get late, we should get some rest if we're going to look for jewel shard bright and early,” she finished and walk up to a tree and fell asleep with her back to it.

“I agree,” Sango said. She put Miroku in her lap and put her back to a tree as well.

“Then it's settled,” Kari said and laid down next to Shippou and Vilna who had been asleep for quite a while.

“Keh,” was all Inuyasha said and took Kagome in his arms then jumped into the tree above where Terra was sleeping. He still didn't trust her enough. He wasn't going to get much sleep that night.

“I believe we should leave,” Jaken told the two that were looking at each other.

“R-right,” Rin said, and walked in the opposite direction of everyone else. Jaken and Sesshomaru fallowed her wordlessly.
