The Honeymoons Over
Scene 1-Surprises and Visitors-Sunday
Sango reached out without turning over and turned off the alarm. Usually she didn't have a problem waking up but she was warm and tingly making her want to stay right where she was. Gradually she became aware of three things. One a body was pressed up against hers…Hidinni! Two he had his hand snugly cupping her left breast and third his hard man hood was pressed against her stomach. A blush came over her face and she snapped her eyes open and jerked back only to find a grinning Miroku wide awake.
“Good morning…wife.”
“I don't see anything good about it yet.” She snapped sitting against the head board.
“Well from where I was laying it was indeed a good morning.” He said with laughter in his voice which only caused her to frown at him more. “Wife…why are you getting up at 7:30 on a Sunday?”
“You probably forgot but Kohaku's first treatment is today at nine. I want to be there before he goes in.” Sango answered rising from the bed before she remembered the sheer night ware she had on. Miroku took the chance to run his eyes over her body again.
“Yes, I did forget.” He drawled slowly. “Very well, you should get dressed. I'll go make sure you have some breakfast.”
Sango didn't expect him to be helpful and was temporarily speechless. “I…that would be nice. Thank you Hidinni.” She said before hastily making her way into her bathroom.
When she made her way down with her purse in tow she went to the wrong kitchen before a passing servant told her Miroku was in the other one. She was surprised to see the servants up this earlier and pressed her lips as she thought about Hidinni not giving them Sunday off. She walked into the kitchen about to give him a peace of her mind when she stopped in the door way. He was standing by the stove tossing pancakes. There was a bowl of strawberries along with bagels on the tables. Toast with assorted jellies were also laid out. She smelled a pot of fresh coffee and saw the pitcher of orange juice sitting on the table.
“You did all this?” She asked.
“Do you see anyone else?” The disbelief in her voice had him snapping instead of offering a smile.
“No, I just assumed it was one of the servants, after all who would think the great Hidinni could cook.”
“The servants have Sunday off. Even the ones who live on the grounds. Also the name is Miroku.”
“I know what your name is” Sango said dryly taking a seat and starting in on her toast.
“Then why do you insist on calling me Hidinni?” He asked as he served the pancakes on a plate and got out the syrup.
“I prefer it, besides it's your name.”
”Don't forget wife…it's now your name to.”
“Right…I keep trying to forget that but so far I've had no success.”
“Well, when ever you need reminding just look on the wedding certificate.” Miroku said thinly. She was pushing his buttons and it was barely after 8am. She just pursed her lips and continued to eat. He let it go and they ate in silence. When she was nearly finished he figured they'd both calmed down and tried conversation again.
“So what time do we have to be at the hospital?” Sango dropped her fork and looked up at him.
“We? What we?” She asked confused and a little panicky.
“You my wife…me your husband equals we.” He said with aspiration. “What time do we need to leave for the hospital?”
“We don't have to do anything. You don't have to come with me. I'm sure you have better things to do.” Sango assured him.
“Maybe but I'd planned on coming with you. Chemotherapy can be rough I thought you'd like some company.”
“Well I'm not the one having it.” Sango bit her lip as his eyes hardened. She was just thrown off by the fact that he cared at all and was being nice. She tired to soften her response. “Look, it's nice of you to want to come but I'll be fine. I'm worried about my brother and well, I haven't told him yet and I think when I do it would be easier without you there that's all.”
“I see. You just don't want me there…fine I won't go.” He shrugged and sipped his coffee as if he could care less and Sango wondered how she could have thought he cared. Suddenly she just wanted to be out of his presence and jumped up.
“Well, I should be going. I don't know what time I'll be back…” She trailed off, not use to explaining her plans to anyone. He stood up looking at her calmly.
“Fine…let me walk you out.” He followed her back into the main hall and when they got to the door he stopped her. “I forgot I have a surprise for you.” She
turned around impatient only to have a small box dropped into her hand. She looked down at her hand and then looked up at him.
“What is this?”
”I wouldn't be a surprise if I told you.”
”I don't like surprises.” Sango said frowning down at the box.
“Gee, I never would have guessed.” He said sarcastically. “Will you just open the thing?” Sango sighed and lifted the black velvet box to stare at a three caret engagement ring.
“Oh my goodness! Why are you giving this to me?”
“I remembered that I hadn't gotten you one.”
”I can't take this. Besides were already married.” She closed the lid and tired giving it back to him, only to have him enfold her hands around it.
“You will take it. It's yours. Besides every woman should have one before getting married. I'm sorry that I forgot.” She opened her mouth to argue and he continued. “I don't care what you do with it, but you will keep it.”
“Fine. Whatever you say Hidinni.” Sango shoved the ring in her pocket turning to fling the front door open. How dare he give her orders! Her mental tantrum was stopped when she noticed the bright red Ferrari at the end of the drive. By it's looks it was brand new. “Damn it where is my car? I left it at the end of the drive, now all I see is one of your new toys.”
“Correction you see your new toy.” As she turned to look at him he withdrew keys from his other pocket. “Here's another surprise I had for you. The car is yours.” He tossed the keys and she automatically caught them.
“What? I have my own car.”
“I know, but you're my wife…I thought you might want an upgrade. Just consider it a wedding gift.” Sango felt her anger rising and was tempted to let it go.
“Where…is…my…car?”
“In the garage to the left. But the new one is gassed so feel free to take it.” Miroku said having no clue he was close to losing his head and felt quite pleased with him self. That was until the keys were lobbed at his head and he barely caught them.
“You can stop trying to buy me with expensive gifts. The only thing I wanted from you was Kohaku's treatment and that I have. I don't want anything else from you. Once I fulfill my end of our arrangement we'll go our separate ways. I for one can't wait until that day gets here.” On that note she went out the door slamming them behind her. Miroku stood in the hall in mild disbelief though a smile played at his lips.
“Well….I guess she really doesn't like surprises after all.” He shook his head and turned to go handle the morning's business.
-----
Kohaku had stayed up all night…worrying. There was nothing unusual about that though. He hated hospitals on top of everything else…he always had since he was eight. Since he had been in the hospital he had stayed up every night worrying about various things. His health, his sister and ways to fix everything. He was happy he was getting treatment and hoped he would soon be out of the hospital. He knew how much it worried his sister. He was tired of being a burden to her. A few years ago he had finally been able to see what taking care of him had cost her. Once his mind had started to grow up and he started thinking about someone besides his self he had been able to see the big picture. He saw how hard his sister worked, how she rarely went out. He had never been extremely outgoing. He had preferred to stay close to his sister and didn't hang out much with friends. That probably had something to do with his parents death. However his first year in high school had made him branch out and he soon found his self with a few real and close friends. As teenagers do he had started hanging out more and started really looking at girls and it had hit him that his sister never went out. That the only real and close friend that she had was Kagome. That she very rarely dated. That part didn't bother him so much. He didn't really like the thought of his sister with some guy. Especially if the guy was having the same kind of thoughts he had been having lately about girls. He blushed as some of the images flashed across his mind. Still it had become obvious how much his sister had given up to take care of him. Now he was sick and she was worried to death. He wanted to get well so she wouldn't cry when she thought he had fallen asleep in the hospitable bed. With those heavy thoughts on his mind he sat in his bed at 8 am waiting for someone to come get him for his treatment. He closed his eyes and tried to relax. So when the door opened minutes later he was expecting his sister who had promised to be here. She never broke her promises to him.
“Hey sis what took you so long?” He asked not even bothering to open his eyes.
“I didn't know I had a time table.” Came a light cheery voice. Kohaku's eyes popped open and he found his self staring at a girl who appeared to be somewhere around his age. She had light red hair that reached past her shoulders and a smile as sweet as a baby's. Her eyes which were staring at him curiously were a pale blue that should have seemed icy. Instead they looked at him with curiosity and warmth. She didn't look as tall as he was and he was only 5'7 but she was one of the prettiest girls he had ever seen.
“You're not my sister?” He said instead of something cool. He fought not to blush as she laughed and left the door way to walk into the room.
“Your right. As far as I know I'm an only child.” She said sitting on his bed near his feet, her hands behind her back.
“Who are you? You're not a nurse.”
”You can say that again. Ugh I hate their uniforms no style.” The strange girl grinned at him and continued. “Hi my name is Rin and when I get older I want to be a talk show host.” Kohaku was saved from trying to figure out what the bubbly girl was talking about as the door pushed in again.
“There you are Rin. By the way you run your mouth I'd say that would be a good profession for you.” Dr. Daran Sesshoumaru said as he walked into the room studying a chart. Now he turned to the young man in the bed and gave him the barest of smiles. “Kohaku I see you've meet the hospital busy body.”
“Oh dad give it a rest.” The laughing girl said as she too looked at Kohaku. “Don't listen to him. I'm more of a helper then a busybody.” Kohaku's mouth gaped open as he looked from one to the other.
“You're his daughter?” He said in disbelief and had Rin rolling her eyes.
“Yes, through some twist of fate.”
“But…” The boy tired to get out.
“She gets her hair color from her mother…along with her smart mouth.” Dr. Sesshoumaru said dryly though the look he threw his daughter held warmth. “Now get out of the way Rin while I check my patient.” The girl complied without a word her hands still behind her back as the doctor asked him questions and took his vitals. When he was finished he gave the boy the okay to have treatment. As he was walking out the door he threw a last comment at his daughter.
“Rin don't bother him to long, he has a long day ahead of him.”
“Wait doctor, is my sister here yet?”
“No not yet.” The doctor didn't even turn around as he answered. It was almost 8:30 and he wondered where Sango was? With that thought on his mind he forgot about the girl in the room until she sat on his bed again.
“Here I brought these for you.” She handed him a little bouquet of hand picked flowers with a little stuffed bear in the middle from behind her back. “I know boys aren't suppose to like flower's but I always bring them flowers anyway. I think there good for recuperation and my father agrees that a bright lively environment can speed up healing.” Kohaku stared at the flower and the girl. Not able to get a word in. It wasn't that she was confusing but her sentences seemed to flow together and he didn't know where to jump in. When she finally took a breath he interjected.
“Uh, thanks I guess.” He didn't know what else to say. A girl had never given him any kind of gift before…and his sister didn't count. The girl named Rin either didn't notice or pretended not to see how uncomfortable he was.
“Oh you're welcome. So where are your parents?”
“My parents are dead. It's just me and my sister.” Her grin faltered at his tone and the simple way he stated it saddened her.
“That's okay, it's just me and my dad. My mother died giving birth to me so I know how you feel.” He glanced up a little shocked. He had always pitied his self but this upbeat girl had never even known her mother. At least he had been old enough to have memories of his parents.
“Gee. I'm sorry.”
“Don't be. Dad says death is a part of life…simple as that.” He nodded surprised to see her eyes still twinkling.
“So uh…why are you bringing me flowers?”
“You're special. You must be for my dad to give up his Sunday to come treat you. Sunday's are the only days he refuses to work. It's our family day and we spend it together. He's been talking about you for the last week so I decided to come see what all the fuss was about.”
“Oh. Do you bring all your dad's patients gifts?”
“No just every once in a while. I know that starting chemo treatment can be scary, especially when you're young. Besides like I said today is family day so I came in to be with my dad.” Kohaku was to busy taking offense at her calling him young that he forgot to ask her how she would know about treatment.
“I'm not that young you know. I'm almost 15.” He said with ego, she only rolled her eyes and grinned.
“Yeah that's still young, I'm 16.” He was surprised and told her so. For almost the next thirty minutes they chatted though Rin did all the talking. He was so
engrossed in their conversation that he was surprised when the doctor came in again with two nurses.
“Rin time to go. They need to prep him.”
“Okay Maybe I'll come visit again.” Rin said giving Kohaku's hand a quick squeeze before getting up and joining her father at the door.
“Doctor has my sister arrived yet?”
“No. She'll have to visit you after the procedure.” As they walked out the door Kohaku closed his eyes as the nurses buzzed around him. She'll be here. My
sister is always there for me. Besides she never breaks a promise to me.
-----
Miroku had made a couple of calls after his stubborn new wife had left. None of which had been to his father or family. They could wait. Afterwards he had looked over a little work but had found his mind wondering. He couldn't understand his new wife…he was giving her everything she could want…wasn't he? Most other women would love to be in her position. A rich famous husband, a mansion with everything at her fingertips it was most women's dream. What woman didn't like expensive gifts? He wasn't that surprised at Sango's reaction though. He'd known as soon as he met her that she was no push over. He had no doubt that if it wasn't for her brother Sango would not have looked twice in his direction. That thought brought a twist to his mouth. It was around three and she still hadn't returned, nor had she called. He had taken it upon his self to call and check on her brother's status, so he knew the first treatment had went as planned. Not long ago he'd had a couple of visitors. They were gone now and he sat out by his pool relaxing. His wife would be home when she got here. Truthfully he was relieved that he wouldn't have to deal with her at the moment, he visitors had left him in a foul mood. So he was surprised when a shadow fell on him.
“Whatcha doing?”
“What does it look like?” Miroku asked lifting his shades and sitting up. “What are you doing here? You shouldn't interrupt a man when he's on his honeymoon.”
Inuyasha shrugged and sat on the lounge chair across from him. “I figured you'd be finished by now, besides I needed to talk to you.” Inuyasha said but wouldn't look at his friend.
“Luckily for you, you figured right. What's so important that you needed to interrupt me today?”
“Nothing really, just had a couple of things on my mind.” Miroku just looked at him and waited for him to spit out what was really going on. He could tell Inuyasha was troubled by the way he kept fidgeting and looking around. Miroku was intrigued for rarely did anything bother Inuyasha enough to truly ruffle his feathers. In that way they were alike.
“So how's married life anyway?” Inuyasha asked stalling.
“So far not good but I'm a reasonable man and plan to give it a couple more days before I hand in a verdict.”
“Yeah?” Was all he said and they sat in silence as Inuyasha decided if he wanted to speak or not. “Okay I did come here for something.”
“Spit it out.”
“You know that other day at lunch when you wanted to do a film with me as the lead.”
“Yeah, I think it's time me and you link our names together. The script is perfect for you and it would be a blockbuster.” Suddenly Miroku was all business and went into his selling mode. He was surprised that Inuyasha was bringing this up since he had almost flat out refused his first offer.
“I thought about it some more and I'll take it.”
“Excellent. I think you'll be pleased. It's an heavy action role, something you really haven't done yet but I think-“
“Yeah, yeah what ever. I have one condition though.” Inuyasha said waving Miroku's sales pitch aside. Miroku stopped and raised an eyebrow. Here it comes big actors always had “conditions”.
“Shoot?”
”I'll only do it if you put Kagome Higurashi as the lead woman.” What ever Miroku had been expecting it wasn't that.
A little smile played at the corners of his lips he couldn't wait to hear the reasoning behind this. “Why?”
Inuyasha ran a frustrated hand over his silver hair then prepared to tell the truth. If he couldn't to his best friend then who could he tell it to?
“Because I want her.” Inuyasha had thought of the vixen all last night and all today. He didn't appreciate anything ruining his sleep.
Miroku repressed a laugh as he replied. “Tell me something I don't know. What does that have to do with my movie?”
“Because she's playing hard to get. But I think with a little time and effort I can ware her down.” Inuyasha said seriously.
“So you want me to cast someone who may not be right for a role for the sole purpose of you seducing her?” Miroku asked just as seriously.
“Yes.”
“And why should I be party to this…little game of yours.”
“Because you're my friend.”
“Try again, your talking about my business here.”
“Fine, because you're right. Your and my name together will mean big bucks for both of us. I read over the script you sent me and I know I can do justice for the part. However if you want me…then you have to give me Kagome.”
“So she's a deal breaker?” Miroku was very surprised by Inuyasha's demand and he found it interesting and very unlike his friend.
“Yep…so what's it going to be? I have other offers waiting on a response from me.”
“I don't like to be rushed.” Miroku narrowed his eyes. He didn't like anyone even a friend trying to force his hand.
“And I don't like to wait. What's your answer Hidinni.” For long moments the men stared at each other both weighing the pro and cons of the deal. Inuyasha wasn't bluffing about the other offers waiting to here from him. He also knew that if Miroku didn't think Kagome would fit the lead female role then nothing would change his mind. At the same time Miroku was trying to figure out how bad he wanted Inuyasha for this role. It had been written just for him…but no one was irreplaceable and he didn't like being told what to do. Finally he spoke.
“Okay you've got a deal.” The two men shook on it grinning but then Miroku pulled back and gave Inuyasha a level look.
“You'll get your way this time. But remember whether or not you get Kagome in bed should have nothing to do with the quality of my movie. I expect a 110% from you and everyone else on the set…no matter what. So if you don't get your way with her don't take it out on my movie.” Inuyasha stood up and flicked him a smug smile.
“Don't worry buddy…I always get what I want. See ya.” He turned to go and Miroku watched him until he got to the doors. Shaking his head he got up on a sigh and went to put the wheels in motion for his next project.
-----
Sango had only enough time to sweep in and kiss his forehead before Kohaku was taken down to the treatment ward. Traffic had been light until she had run into an accident. Plus she hadn't taken into account that the mansion was further away from the hospital then their old apartment. The treatments would go one hour, twice a day, five times a week. She was a fit of nerves as she waited for the slow two hours to pass. To take away from her worry she thought about how she would tell her brother that she suddenly had a husband. She didn't mind that she would have to lie to him….it was for his own good and right now only his health mattered. Thinking about her “husband” made her temper rise. How dare he sprinkle her with outrageously expensive gifts as if that would make up for her having to sleep with him and live a lie? Just thinking about being with him brought feeling of disgust and…desire to her mind. She couldn't lie every time he touched her, her body responded. Her last date had been three months ago. She had almost had sex with him just to have sex but had stopped because she had felt nothing. Now this rich playboy could look at her and her stomach would flutter. Damn him! Luckily she was saved from further thoughts of the man who would eventually become her lover.
“Dr. Sesshoumaru, how is my brother doing?” She ran up to the doctor asking anxiously. Only to have the cool blue eyes turned on her.
“Ms. Totosai the first treatment went well.”
“Can I go see him?” Sango didn't bother to correct him on her last name, her brother being her only thought.
“No. The first week or two of treatment drains a patient until their bodies get use to the chemo. Let him rest for a couple of hours and then you can see him, a
nurse will let you know when.”
“Well is the treatment working? Will he get well?” Sango asked wide eyed wringing her hands something she would never do unless extremely distressed.
“Ms. Totosai today was just the first treatment. It will take at least three weeks before we can tell if it's making any difference.” He explained it as if he was talking
to a simple 8 year old and Sango's eyes flashed with indignation.
“I apologize if I seem ignorant but I don't know anything about chemo and how long these things take.”
“Well you should learn.” Dr. Sesshoumaru said dismissively and a blush of anger appeared on Sango's cheeks. “I'll come back at five and give your brother the second treatment of the day.” At his words Sango's anger dissipated. How could she forget that he had come in on a Sunday just for her brother? No matter what she thought of his bedside manner he was working hard to save Kohaku.
“I'm sorry my nerves are just bad today. Thank you again for making this special appointment for my brother. I really appreciate what you've done for him.” He acknowledged her apology with a small nod of his head.
“It's my job. Besides I like to give the first week of treatments to a patient myself. Afterwards the general staff will give him his daily chemo.” Dr. Sesshoumaru hadn't taken any offense to her remarks. His first and only priority was the patient. Soothing relatives emotions were not his concern. They were interrupted as someone called him from behind.
“Dad, there you are.” They both turned to look at the teenage girl who was coming towards them. She had a large smile on her face and Sango was shocked to see it was mirrored on the doctor's. She didn't think he ever smiled!
“I'm right here.” He said as he draped an arm around her shoulders as she came to stand with them. “Are you ready to go home Rin?”
“Sure dad, I could use some lunch though.”
“Sure thing.” He turned back to Sango and his smile disappeared. “Check in with the desk and they will let you know when you can see Kohaku.”
“Thank you very much doctor.” Sango said as he turned to go, but was stopped by his daughter.
“Are you Kohaku's sister?” The young girl asked.
“Yes I am.” Sango asked wondering how she knew as the girl reached out and gasped her hand giving it a squeeze.
“Don't worry Kohaku loves you very much and will get better soon. My dad will make sure of that.” Rin said looking into the woman's eyes. Kohaku had spoken of his sister with such love and devotion. She wished she had some siblings as cool as his sister. When she felt her father squeeze her shoulder she stepped back.
“Come Rin. We should be going.”
Sango watched the pair go, touched by the bright girls words of warmth. As she made her way to the front desk she wondered how a man so cold could have a daughter like that.
Scene 2-Hollywood Press-Monday
Sango had come home Sunday night around nine from the hospital. After his 5 o'clock treatment she'd had to wait another two hours before she could speak to him. Recalling the conversation made her sigh. He had been propped up in bed looking so pale and lifeless, even more so then the last time she'd talked to him. He had been extremely tired after the first session and had been in and out up until his next treatment. Therefore, she hadn't had a chance to tell him the news until later that night. She had put on a brave smile and took a deep breath sitting at his side.
“How you doing guy?” She'd said brushing his sandy brown hair off his cool forehead. He turned his head and gave her a weak smile.
“Good sis, I didn't think you would still be here.”
”Of course kid, where else would I be.” She leaned down and kissed his forehead bringing a blush to his cheeks. Weakly he swatted at her with his hand.
“Cut it out Sango, I'm to old for that kind of stuff.”
“Please! You're never to old for kisses from your sister.” She said grinning at him. Glad that he hadn't lost his sprit even though he had been in the hospital for three weeks.
“I guess. Thanks sis for putting up with me I know I'm a lot of trouble.”
“Non-sense don't say things like that. I'm just glad you're going to get better now.”
“I guess. I feel like sh-, I mean crap.” He remembered her aversion to him cussing. “How did you get the money for this anyway? Dr. Sessohmur told me how much it would cost and I thought we'd never afford it.” She had silently cursed the doctor for telling a child such a thing.
“Well that's what I want to talk to you about. I have some news and it's kind of big. I don't know how to say it but I got married over the weekend.”
“What?” He looked more confused then shocked.
“I uh…got married.”
“Who? I mean why didn't you tell me?”
“I'm so sorry. I didn't tell you because you had so much already on your mind. I know its sudden and a selfish thing to do but it was necessary.” Sango could see that Kohaku was trying to make sense of what she was saying and she felt bad that she had to lie to him.
“I still don't get it. Who in the world did you marry?”
“Uh…” Think fast Sango. “You know that date I had three months ago.” She waited while he nodded his head. “Well we've been seeing each other since and we fell in love…it became serious quickly.”
“You didn't mention any of this to me?” His face showed his puzzlement.
“I know…you know how I try to keep my personal life low key. I know you hate it though and I apologize I was just trying to protect you just in case it didn't work out.” Now he frowned at her and she had seen a flicker of anger in his eyes.
“You should have told me. I didn't even get to meet the guy and now you're married. You have to stop treating me like a baby, I'm a man now.” Sango's heart had broken. His statement was almost true. In a few more years he would be a man.
“I know. I promise to stop treating you like your 8…I just can't help it.”
“I still don't understand how you just up and married the guy.” He said pouting. Sango had done some more fast thinking.
“Well he'd asked me to marry him right before you got sick. I was going to talk it over with you but things became hectic after you came to the hospital. As you know the treatment is expensive and when I went to get a loan by my self I was turned down. We figured out that if we were married both our incomes would be enough to get such a large loan. Since we were in love we figured what harm would it do to up the wedding, especially if it would help you.” Sango held her breath hoping the lie would wash. She saw her brother's foggy brain taking in the info and gradually his frown left his face.
“Are you really in love with him.” He asked seriously, worry in his eyes.
“I…yes. Yes I am.”
“Then I guess its okay then. I want you to be happy.” Tears pricked her eyes and she gave him another kiss.
“Thank you. I just want you to be healthy again that's all that matters.”
His strength began to ebb again and after a little more conversation he had drifted off to sleep. She had watched him for an hour then headed to the mansion that she now called home. Luckily her “husband” had been no where in sight and she had ran a bath then been in the bed by ten. Now she sat at her office desk frustrated and hoping that she didn't go to hell for lying to her brother. However, despite what he said he was still a child and wouldn't understand the sacrifice that she'd made. It was three o'clock and to make matters worse she had been having a horrible day.
She had come in the office at 9 like every morning only to have her secretary look at her as if she were wearing her pantyhose on her head. She had soon found out the reason as she sat at her desk and begin to look through the entertainment papers that she got each morning. They were designed to keep people like her up to date with what was going on in the fast pace industry. So the shock she received as she looked at her own face on the front cover was horrific. There she was with Hidinni in full wedding gear with a headline that read “Hidinni The Man With the Magic Touch ties the Knot!” As she quickly flipped through the other papers she saw they too had ended up with her wedding pictures. Damn! Somehow though she had put that out of her mind and started to work only for the day to get worse. Around 10 thirty she began to get walk in clients. Any other day this would have been a good thing but today it was anything but. By 11:30 she had seen 20 people who wanted her to be their agent after reading that she was married on one of the businesses biggest producers. The procession of new wanna be clients continued up until at one when she had instructed her secretary to take only a talent resume from each person and send them on their way. She would look threw the stack and pick the ones she thought had promise and call them back later. At three she had gotten a headache and was currently resting her head on her desk with her door closed. This marriage was turning crazy all ready. Mixed in with the flow of people were the phone calls that kept coming in, from her professional peers and the media. She had her secretary to screen those too. At this rate she would have to give the poor woman a raise. She rethought that as the women in question knocked then came into her office. Margo was grinning from ear to ear. She had taken the disaster in stride and thought the whole thing was glamorous to have so much attention focused on Sango.
“What is it now Margo.” Sango said warily not even managing a smile.
“It's a package from your husband, it was just delivered.” Margo said with more excitement then Sango had ever seen on the woman's face in the last four years.
Sango glared at the two letter size envelopes stacked on top of each other and tied with a purple ribbon. She finally noticed that Margo was looking at her expectantly. “How romantic he sends you gifts at work!” The older woman gushed. Sango forced a smile to her lips and reached out a hand
“Yes how…sweet of him.” As she put them on the desk Margo continued to stand there and Sango realized the woman wanted her to open her “gifts” in front of her.
“Um thank you Margo. Please continue to tell everyone I'm not here for the rest of the day.” The woman frowned her disappointment and slowly walked out. closing the door behind her. Sango stared at the packages wondering what her husband had up his sleeve now. She had no recollection of whether or not he had slept with her last night. When she had awoken he was no where to be found. She had thanked her lucky stars but now saw that there was no escaping him. With a heavy sigh she undid the ribbon and opened the lone card on top. She opened it up only to press her lips together moments later.
“Business before pleasure…I look forward to seeing you at home.” Was all the card said. She tossed it in the trash and picked up the envelope on top which was simply labeled “business”. Opening it she pulled out a script a brief note and a contract. The note let her know that is was a movie he wanted to start producing in the next month and he wanted Kagome in the lead role.
“The arrogant bastard!” Sango said out loud as she looked down at the contract he has sent as if it was already a done deal. She started to throw that in the trash also but wouldn't let her anger ruin what might be a good thing for Kagome. She would read it later and see if the role fit Kagome before taking it her friend. With a huff she put it back in the envelope and put it in her briefcase to take home. Turning back to the last envelope she saw it was marked “pleasure” and with agitated hands she ripped it open and looked at the contents. At first she was confused but then it slowly dawned on her what she was looking at. In her hand she held a stack of test results. Her eyes widened and she flipped through the sheets. He had been tested for Aids and every other STD she had ever heard of. There were even a few that she hadn't heard of in there too. All his tests were negative. By the time she was through glancing over them her hands were shaking…from what she wasn't quite sure. She recalled his message on the card and it became clear. He expected to have sex with her…tonight.
Scene 3-Honey I'm Home-Monday Night
Sango arrived home around nine again. She had gone to her brother's 5:00 treatment and as before waited for him to wake up. She had left the hospital at 8:30 when visiting hours were over. The drive to the mansion was long as she thought about what awaited her there. At one point she had even turned around. But quickly common sense took over. Where would she go? Any way she didn't run from her problems she faced them head on. She had mad a deal. Kohaku was getting the treatment he needed and it was time for her to do her part.
“Get a grip Sango.” She was parked in the long drive. “It's not as if you've never had sex before.” She un-gripped the steering wheel and picked up her purse. She left the briefcase…she wouldn't be doing any business work this night. At least not the kind that involved paper. Entering the house, someone quickly took her keys and inquired if she was hungry. She truthfully said no. She had snacked at the hospital between reading the script and waiting for her brother to awaken.
“Can you tell me if Hidinni is home yet?”
“Yes Mrs. Hidinni, I believe he's on the second floor. I also believe he's expecting you.” If the servant thought it was odd that she called her husband by his last name then she didn't let it show. She supposed they were paid enough so that they didn't ask questions.
“Thank you, and please call me Sango.” She gave the woman a brief smile before she headed up the steps. She took a deep breath as she reached the bedroom door then threw it open not knowing what she would find. The room was dimly lit but this time by candles. By the smell of the room they were cinnamon scented. The door to her bathroom was open and she quietly walked to the door way. Only to find another servant turning off the faucet to a full bathtub.
“Ahh, your home. I just finished your bath.”
“I can see that.”
“Mr. Miroku told me to run it. He thought you might need a soak after a long day. What a considerate man.”
“Right.” She said before thanking the woman and undressing. She wouldn't turn away a bath, especially with the day she'd had. She knew he was some where waiting. She had no doubt that she had read his message correctly. She tired to relax her mind as she soaked and her mind drifted back to the one guy she had had sex with. It had been the year her parents died, six years ago. She had been in her junior year of college and had been going out with Vash for six months. She had been in love with him and she had stupidly thought he loved her too. She had given herself to him as his birthday present. She even remembered the date March 6th. After they'd had sex he'd said he'd loved her and she had believed him. Over the next three months they had sex all the time like young people do. Then she had gotten the call about her parents and everything had changed. She had thought Vash would stick by her side. After all they only had one more year of college…they could have gotten married and raised Kohaku together. But the dirty bastard had barely comforted her through the funeral! He had stopped seeing her saying that she had to much baggage. Since then she hadn't had time for men and hadn't trusted them as far as she could throw them. Sex or any of her own needs had taken a back seat to raising her brother and providing for them both. He had been a eight year old boy scared form losing his parents and she had been a twenty year old young woman who suddenly had the world on her shoulders. The slogan that “sex can wait” had never been truer for her.
She got out the bath and went to find some bed clothes, though she was sure he wouldn't let them stay on long. She hated the fact that she was nervous. Hell women her age had sex whenever they wanted with whomever they wanted now days but here she was freaking out. What if she didn't know how to do it anymore?
“Why should you care? Maybe if you're terrible he'll bother you less.” Sango shook her head and put on thin cotton pj bottoms and a matching long sleeved top. It was a pale gold and covered all her skin. She refused to dress the part for him tonight. She went back into the bathroom and sat in front of the dresser mirror and began to brush her hair. In her rush to get in the bath she hadn't put up her hair and the bottom couple of inches were wet. She would just pretend she was a Victorian woman like the ones in the historical movies and plays. She would lay there and silently do her wifely duty. She was sure she would get no enjoyment out of it. She closed her eyes and continued to brush.
-----
Miroku stood in the doorway watching her brush her hair with long strokes. Her head titled back and eyes closed. He had waited long enough and had come to find her. He smirked as he remembered how thoughts of tonight had distracted him at work. Distractions were bad for business. But after tonight he was sure his curiosity for her would be gone and he could focus again. It had been all he could do not to drag her home from the hospital. Showing restraint he had waited and set about making the night as comfortable for her as possible. He had become hard just from watching her do the innocent task of brushing her hair. Now he found his voice.
“I thought you had drowned”
“What!” Sango dropped the brush on the floor and spun around to stare at him. “Haven't you ever heard of knocking first?” Miroku ignored her outburst and calmly closed the space separating them, hen picked the brush up off the floor.
“The door was open.” He said simply in explanation.
“Well…you still could have knocked.” Her words didn't hold any punch as her heart raced and she watched him in the mirror. He had the ends of her hair in one hand and the brush in the other.
“Allow me.” He said and proceeded to brush her hair in long even strokes. Their eyes where locked with each others through the mirror and Sango could feel her heart speeding up.
“You don't have to do that.”
“I know…I want to.” He delivered his words in a silky voice and the air became heavy with sexual tension. Miroku left it there for a moment as he continued to
look at her in the mirror before he spoke again. “Did you enjoy your bath…Sango?”
“I…yes.” She barely got out surprised at the question and tipsy from the sound of her name on his lips. His hair was down again and he wore only a pair of black sleep pants low on his waist. His attractive chest drawing her eyes attention. She grasped at something to say that would re-erect the wall between them that she felt crumbling. “I hope I didn't take to long…I know your probably anxious for bed.” She succeeded in filling her voice with mockery. He put the brush down and soothed the hair back from the sides of her face.
“You're right I am anxious and ready for bed. Are you ready for bed my dear Sango?” He said softly, running his hands down her neck.
The question and the way his eyes peered at her through the mirror had her lips parting and her brain going blank for a moment. “I'm dressed for bed aren't I.” She finally got out and was pleased that she could come up with a sarcastic remark at all. That is until she saw him smile. It was a mocking smile but one where she couldn't tell if he was mocking her or a fixture in the bathroom.
“Tell me…did you think covering up would make me want you less?” Her eyes widened slightly and he knew he had guessed right. “You couldn't have been more wrong. Covering up just makes me more determined to see what's underneath.” He saw her swallow and decided to put an end to this game they were playing. His fingers were itching to play with more then her neck. Massaging her shoulders he leaned over her and spoke to the reflection in the mirror. ”Don't you think it's time we went to bed…wife.” He saw a flash of rebellion in her eyes before she pressed her lips together and answered.
“Very well.” Sango said standing up and attempting to walk into the bedroom only to be stopped by his hand on her arm.
“Not so fast. My curiosity is peaked…I want to see what's underneath.”
-----
She turned around only to meet the blazing heat of desire in his eyes and was rooted to the floor as he stroked his hands from the lapel of her shirt to the first buttons. His touch was light as he made quick work of the six buttons that hid her from him. Sango's eyes were glued to his throat as the material slipped from her shoulders to the bathroom floor. Her breasts were bare and her eyes drifted shut when she felt his hands cover them. Miroku felt the shunder that ran through her body and was pleased, though no smile played on his lips. He was looking intensely down at her perfect orbs, watching as her nipples came to life from his touch. He wasn't dead…therefore he couldn't stop his self from leaning down to take one in his mouth.
Her legs threatened to go out and she held onto his shoulders. Luckily she bit back the moan of pleasure that tired to escape her tight throat. Though she managed to stop that she couldn't stop the heat that was gathering in-between her legs. He took his time and paid homage to both breasts equally. Finally he straightened to run kisses along the smooth skin of the shoulder and neck. Her hands had dropped to his waist above the line of his pants. His bare skin was hot against her fingers and she could smell the fresh smell of soap on his body. She felt the hand on her stomach and the one on her back as they sent little shock waves along her skin.
Miroku slid his hands beneath her pants and felt her fingers tighten at his waist. She hadn't made a sound so far but the body spoke much louder then any words she could have said. He watched the pulse in her neck and the flush of her skin as it told him his touch aroused her. He cupped her buttocks in his hands and pulled her supply body against his, letting her feel the hard length of him through his clothes. Sango bit her lip and let her thoughtless head fall to his chest. Again she had almost cried out as she had felt his manhood press against her stomach. She heard a fast heart beat and it took her a moment to realize that it was his. He truly wanted her…? He was massaging her rear and she didn't know what to do with her hands…didn't know what to do at all! It had been so long since her body had been caressed that her brain has ceased to function as the forgotten sensations assaulted her senses. Miroku pushed the material over her hips and watched as her head shoot up and her eyes opened. He saw desire and hesitation in her dark irises. Keeping eye contact he squatted in front of her.
Sango held her breath as he kissed a trail down her hips then her legs all the way down to her ankles until he removed the pants by gently sliding them from under her feet. Her breath was coming in short bursts. She was so turned on that she couldn't move and her arms hung limply at her sides. They were still staring into each others eyes and she badly wanted to close them. But her eyelids wouldn't obey her either.
He had kept his eyes off the dark triangle of hair nestled between her thighs on purpose. One look and he would have taken her on the bathroom floor. It was bad enough the scent of her was making him dizzy. As it was he was surprised he hadn't burst. He hadn't meant to take it this slow. It was killing him. He should have been buried deep inside her by now but something had compelled him to wait. Something made him want to see her melt in his hands before he made her his. With that in mind he ran his hands up her shapely calves then to the backs of her knees. As if he'd found a button her legs collapsed and he swooped her up in his arms. Sango eyes finally drifted closed again as he carried her into their bedroom. The look in his eyes of lust had been to much for her.
-----
Miroku laid her on the bed and made quick work of his own pajama bottoms, before covering her hot body with his own. He kissed her chin and forehead until he teased her eyes open. Her mouth was parted and the tip of her pink tongue darted out to wet her full lips. That snapped whatever was holding him back and he claimed her lips in a kiss. The kiss served to wake Sango out of her sensually catatonic state and her arms went greedily around his neck to deepen the kiss. She felt all the hard ridges of his body on hers and shivered with delight even as his member throbbed against her hip. She hadn't seen it but could feel that he was long and thick.
When he felt her passion for him he was lost and his hands wanted to be everywhere as he ran them across her body. Soon they found the apex of her center where warm liquid heat was waiting for him. Two of his lucky fingers sunk into her and she bit his lip making him moan. Sango gasped and squeezed her eyes tightly shut as her body latched onto his fingers. As he began to move them he caught her mouth back in a searing kiss taking both their breaths away. As her pleasure built she tore from his lips, gasping for air to bite at his shoulder. His passion filled eyes watched her face as she struggled to keep her rising ecstasy in. She still hadn't made a sound but she showed her ardor with her desperate gasps and as her hips moved to meet his invading fingers. Miroku's eyes narrowed and his fingers moved faster and harder.
“Let it out….Sango. Don't hold it in…let go.” He encouraged in a thick voice as he watched her face. He needed her to let go.
Sango was holding back because she was afraid. Afraid of the intense wave of pleasure threatening to consume her. To soon she felt the tightening of her stomach that singled her approaching climax…he felt it too.
“Let it go…my sweet.” He plunged his fingers into her several more times and felt when her body gave out. He watched as she burrowed her face in his neck and finally let the sounds of her gratification free. The sounds may have been the sweetest he had ever heard, and in his mind he made a promise to hear them again and again before the night was over. As the wave of her climax receded Sango felt embarrassed and buried her head in his chest. She felt bare and open to him…which was exactly what she was. She tried to find her righteous anger but her body had other plans. Even after her release she wanted more…she wanted him inside her…badly. Miroku lifted her head and tired to catch her eyes but the brief glance he got showed him that she was already rebuilding the wall. He kissed her and found that her lips resisted. Yes she was definitely putting back up the wall and quickly…he couldn't let that happen. He stroked her breast before sliding down to suckle them. Nipping at the nipples then soothing them with his tongue. Soon he had stroked the fire in her again. He was kissing his way down her midriff….now her stomach when he felt her hands grip his shoulders. He looked up and caught her wide eyes. He saw that she wanted what he could give her and he also saw that she would rather bite her tongue off then ask for it.
“Tell me what you want Sango and I'll give it to you” She continued to look at him and dropped her hands to clench the bed sheets. He only smiled at her and shook his head. “Fine, I guess I'll just have to figure it out on my own.” He proceeded with his downward kisses until his tongue parted her lower lips.
Sango's back arched and she shook from his wet tongue on her pleasure zone. As he did to her what his fingers had done a short while ago she tossed and turned her head and almost bit her lip raw. She felt it building up again and was shocked at how quickly he had brought her to the top. Her body was fighting with her deep conscious of her mind, causing both torture as she gasped and withered. When his tongue brought her to completion she lost it and screamed out loud. Her hands leaving the wrinkled sheets to press his head closer to her center of bliss.
Feeling her hands tangled in his hair and hearing her even bigger cries of release was the last straw for him. He moved up her body and fussed his lips coated with her juices to his, mimicking with his tongue what he wanted to do with his now painfully hard member. Now that the dam was broken her hands where all over his body and they rolled around the on the king size bed, arms and legs entwined. Finally pushing her unto her back he sheathed his length inside her with one stroke.
“Oh Miroku!” Several things went through his mind as he closed his eyes and took in the moment. One was the pleasure of having her finally say his name. The second was the exquisite pleasure of feeling her silky heat wrapped around him. He hadn't lied to her when he'd said he used condoms. Not since his teenage days had he gone with out one. So the feel of his bare member wrapped around all her softness and heat was very close to being too much to bare. Sango felt full in every way imaginable and moved her hips before he could break out of his stupor. After a few test strokes they upped the tempo and moved as one. All her reserve was forgotten as she clung to his body urging him to drive into her. She gave up her cries of fervor freely now and when they reached the peak they did it together, and when they feel over the peak she called his name again.
“Miroku!”
Scene 4- Chaos Begins-Wednesday
Sango was irritated with Hidinni but more irritated at herself for thinking about Hidinni. For the last two days their night together had consumed her thoughts. Tuesday morning she had woken up to an empty bed and had felt ashamed and relieved. At least this way she didn't have to look him in the face when passion wasn't blinding her mind. She had been tired and cranky since he had taken her another two times before they had fallen asleep. At work she'd tired to push the pervious nights activities out of her mind but her body had been intent on reminding her. It seemed her skin was extra sensitive now and even the movements of her clothes against her skin aroused her. The bastard hadn't called or even left her a note on the pillow! Then at lunch time Margo had burst into her office gushing again.
“Oh Sango! Your husband is such a thoughtful man.” She had looked up from her desk to see Margo holding several carry out bags.”
”What are you talking about? And what smells so good.”
“These were just delivered. It came with a card read it first.” Sango took the card from the woman as she set the bags on her desk. She didn't want to admit the flutter of excitement in her stomach. But how could she ignore it considering what had happened the last time her husband had sent her a note. This one however had simply said “I wanted to make sure that you were eating like you should. I know you have long days and are probably skipping dinner. But you have to keep up your energy and health…for several reasons.” That was it? No crass innuendo, no reminder of the other night. While it should have made her happy it made her mad. Was she so forgettable in bed? She had only come out of her mental thoughts when Margo began to babble.
“I bet it say something romantic! I think it's so sweet that you finally have someone to look out for you. Remember all the times I would fuss at you for not eating!”
“I'm a grown woman Margo I don't need anyone to look after me.” Margo kept going as if she hadn't opened her mouth.
“Look he got us lunch from Spargo's!”
Sango had wrinkled her forehead in confusion. “Spargo doesn't do take out. They're a five star restaurant.” She said before looking at the bags logo…which indeed was from Spargo. Margo just laughed at her and gave her a wink.
“Honey haven't you learned this town yet? If you have money anything is possible, and that new husband or yours has money and more importantly power.”
Sango had grumbled and they had eaten the lunch. Again after visiting Kohaku she had arrived home late wondering would he take her to bed again. However at ten thirty she had gave up worrying about whether he going to come home or not and went to bed.
When she had awoken today she could tell that the bed had only been slept in by her. Now she was waiting for her 10 am appointment with Kagome and talking some sense into herself.
“You should be happy Sango…it's apparent that he doesn't prefer you. Maybe he's getting his rocks off somewhere else and will only come to you on a need to basis.” That thought had her stapling a file together a little harder then necessary. “Humph good riddance” She told herself just as her door opened.
“Good riddance to what?” Kagome asked striding across the room. Sango gave her a big smile, happy to see her friend and happy to take her mind off thoughts of Hidinni.
“Never mind. Have a seat.”
After Kagome got settled the first thing out of her mouth was. “So how is the marriage thing going?” Sango's smile slipped a bit.
“Business first then I'll fill you in. Now an offer came into the office specifically for you, but I want you to think hard about it before you accept it. The movie is a little different from your others. It's an action film with you in the main female role. It will involve some light physical stunts and some travel to different locations. Production is slated to get started with in a month. It's a good solid script and should make a good summer hit next year.” Kagome looked at Sango and knew something was a little off but couldn't put her finger on it so she fished around.
“Why do I hear a but in your voice? What did you think of my part and what are they offering?”
“Your part is good. You wouldn't be playing a helpless damsel in distress but you're not the bitch villain either. I think you'd do well in it. Plus it would show the stretch of your acting abilities. As I said you'd be in the lead and the pay is a little higher then your normal range.
“It sounds great…so what's the problem? You sound as if you don't think I should take it. I wouldn't mind action besides I'm being offered the lead, which is always a good thing. Stop holding out…what's the catch?” Kagome was hoping what ever the catch was Sango was over reacting to it. She had started to like the idea of this offer.
“Okay you got me. The offer came from Hidinni productions. Actually it came from Hidinni him self.”
“What!” Kagome gracefully hopped out of her chair to lean over Sango's desk. “You mean to tell me that Miroku wants to finally work with me on a project. Why didn't you say that in the first place.” Sango leaned back and put a hand to her head, she been afraid this would be Kagome's reaction.
“Settle down. Look maybe you should read the script a little your self before you agree to it. It might not be up your alley after all.”
“Are you kidding? I don't need to read it…it's a Hidinni production. Besides I trust you…you've never steered me wrong before. Wow and he's offering more then usually that's terrific. This could really put me on the next level of my career.”
“Kagome take some time and think about it-“
“I don't need to think about it. I'll take it. Where are the papers, I'll sign them now.” Kagome said going back to her seat and scooting it closer to the desk. Sango breathed a sigh of resignation. Kagome had that light in her eyes that said she wouldn't take no for an answer. She took out the contract and started flipping through it.
“Fine whatever you want. Do you want to look it over?”
”No you did that already right? Just tell me where to sign and hurry and send it in before he changes his mind.”
”Are you sure? I don't even have a list of the other cast. I think he was waiting to cast the leads before the rest.”
“Who cares! It's a Hidinni picture. I'll work with the devil him self to be a lead in the film!” Sango shook her head and for the next twenty minutes they went over the contract and Kagome signed her name on the dotted line. Afterwards the young starlet ran around the desk and gave Sango an impulsive hug.
“Whoa! What was that for?” Sango asked laughing.
“Thank you so much!”
“For what?” She asked unwrapping Kagome's arms.
“For marring Miroku. Come on you marry him and days later he offers me a deal. I knew you'd be getting perks from marring him but I didn't know it would extend to your friends.” Kagome said excitedly before she watched the smile slid off Sango's face.
“Yes…I guess there are perks to my marriage…after all.” Sango said wearily.
Kagome felt like kicking herself and went back to sit in her seat. How could she have been so insensitive when she knew the circumstances of Sango's marriage.
“I'm so sorry Sango. I didn't mean it like it sounded.” Sango waved her apology off and put on a neutral face.
“It's okay. For what it's worth I'm glad you're happy with your opportunity. Honestly though I doubt if I have anything to do with it. I doubt if he got where he's at by doing favors. If he picked you for this role it's because he wanted you for it. You deserve it.”
“Damn it Sango don't stroke my ego after I just put my foot in my mouth. Your suppose to be mad at me.” That got a little smile out of Sango as she rose from her seat.
“Forget about it. I'll go take these to Margo and have her fax it over right now. Be right back.”
Sango left and Kagome really felt like a heel. When her friend came back she cleared her throat nervously. “I'm really sorry about not calling. I figured you would be busy…you know with Kohaku and everything. How is he doing I've been meaning to see him.” Sango told her about Kohaku and her mood seemed to get a little better.
“You should come with me tonight to see him, are you free?”
“Yes anything after five.”
“Good come around 7:00 he should be up by then.”
“Great I will.” Kagome cleared her throat again and decided to go for it. “So how is married life?” She could literally see Sango's face shut down.
“It's…going well. Nothing really to talk about.” Sango did want to talk about it but didn't know where to begin. Plus she didn't want to sound like an idiot. Kagome rolled her eyes. She could always tell when someone was keeping a secret. She didn't like it…her and Sango didn't keep secrets.
“Okay sorry but I've got to ask. How was the sex?”
“Kagome!”
“What? Come on. I know you haven't had sex in years so you kinda had to be looking forward to that? How was it?” Sango didn't say anything for a minute then giving her friend a level look said.
“It was…adequate.” Only to have Kagome burst out laughing.
“Adequate! What kind of way is that to describe sex!” Sango blushed as the other woman laughed at her.
“Hush, and how am I suppose to describe it? I don't go around talking about my sex life every day.”
“That's because you didn't have one. All I know is adequate is not a word you use to qualify sex. You're suppose to use words like…mind blowing, horrible, fantastic things like that. Come on tell me the truth I know he couldn't have been that bad.”
“Fine he was…very proficient in the bedroom.” Sango said uncomfortable with the topic and the images that ran through her head.
“Oh boy. Here we go again. What the hell does proficient mean? That could mean he knew the motions and still didn't excite you. Or it could mean he knew what he was doing so well he made you call out is name.” When the deep blush come over Sango's face Kagome knew “proficient” meant the latter of her meanings. She was wise enough to snap her mouth shut. Hmmm so it had been that good? Sango wanted to sink through the floor but instead got up and begin walking to the door.
“Sorry Kagome to cut this short, but I have a lot of work to do.” Kagome fixed her face and caught up to Sango before she could open the door and gave her a quick hug and a piece of advice.
“Look I know you didn't want this but try to make the best of it. Find the perks in this marriage for you and don't be ashamed to take them. You deserve whatever you can get. I'll see you at seven.” Sango let her leave without replying and went to look out her office window. It was hard to take Kagome's words to heart when she had so many conflicting feelings inside.
-----
At 4pm Miroku stood looking out his office window at the wonderful view of Hollywood. He was slightly surprised it had taken his father four days to find out about his marriage. It shouldn't have though. After all his father spent the day reading the Wall Street Journal not the Enquirer. He had spent a good deal of the day ducking and dodging the man's calls along with other family members. It also mildly surprised him that the old man hadn't just showed up at his office. Then again his father always put business over his family. Miroku wasn't bitter. He had stopped wanting his father's attention or approvals many years ago. It did irritate him that he had to spend time avoiding his father, especially since his mind was already distracted. To damn distracted. His main distraction had a name…Sango.
His luscious and reluctant wife had clogged his brain for the last two days and he didn't like it. Finally having sex with her was supposed to get rid of the mystery that surrounded her. Instead he found his self wanting her more then before. It made him feel out of control and he didn't like that feeling either. Just the thought of her now, made him want to drive to her office and have her on her own desk. It was thoughts like that which made him keep his distance from her. Until he could figure out why and how she was making him loss control and fix it he didn't want to go near her.
Luckily Sango made it easy for him to avoid her. He got up earlier then her to work out in the morning and went to bed late because he was usually working. Not that he had slept with her Tuesday night. He knew he couldn't even lay beside her without wanting to be inside her. He had literally not seen her one time the other day but boy had he thought about her. He knew he was being an ass by avoiding her after a night of sex. It was bad playboy etiquette. He had tired to make it up to her by sending lunch the other day but had no way of knowing if she had appreciated his belated thought. Of course he knew her where abouts throughout the day. The staff let him know what time she left and got in every night. He worried about her not getting enough rest.
“Let it go Miroku. She a grown woman and she would probably tell you to take your concern and shove it.”
“Like I almost told you to shove it today.” Miroku allowed his self a real smile as he heard the irritated voice of Inuyasha behind him.
“Turn around so I can be pissed at you face to face.” Inuyasha said walking in and slamming the door. Miroku complied and calmly went to sit behind his desk.
“What can I do for you today Mr. Tessaiga?” He said just to provoke his friend some more.
“Cut the crap. What's the big deal making me make an appointment before I could see you today?” Inuyasha had been furious when he had dropped by earlier and been told that he could not see Miroku without an appointment. He had even pulled on the office doors only to find them locked!
“No mystery. This is a business. You have to go through the same channels like everyone else.”
“Bullshit. That's never stopped me from walking in before whenever I felt like it.” Miroku heard the slight hurt in his friend's voice and it got him to confess.
“Okay fine, I'm sorry. I was irritated at my father and a couple of other things on my mind. I've been taking it out on everyone today. I guess you were no exception.” Inuyasha shrugged as if he could care less about the whole thing, though he was glad at the explanation.
“Well next time make sure I am an exception.”
“I'll do my best.”
“I mean save being pissed at me for when I actually do something to deserve it.”
“Deal…and I'm sure that will be sometime soon.”
”Of course.” The long time friends grinned at each other, before Miroku got back down to business.
“So what did you want earlier?”
“I came to see had you got the rest of our deal together?” Miroku grinned. So Inuyasha was that anxious to see if he would get a crack at Kagome…interesting.
“As a matter of fact her contract was faxed and processed before lunch today. Now all I need is your signed contract.”
“Excellent.” Inuyasha eyes sparked. Ideas of him and Kagome rolling around in bed already filling his head.
“I'm glad you're happy.” They were quite for a while and Inuyasha watched as Miroku played absently with an expensive paperweight on his desk.
“So what's up your ass today? I know you didn't let your old man get to you that much.” That was Inuyasha's way of asking what was wrong.
“Yeah, it wasn't really him…it's this wife thing.”
“You still having issues with your old lady? What's the big deal throw her some ice and she'll be happy.”
“I already gave her jewelry and cars…she threw them back in my face.” Miroku said with a far off look in his hooded eyes.
“Hmmm strange. But do you really care? She got what she wanted and you're getting what you want.”
“I know your right…I shouldn't care.”
“But you do. Isn't she holding up her end of the bargain?” Miroku hesitated and then answered.
“No…she's keeping her end of the bargain.”
Inuyasha was Inuyasha and couldn't help but grin at that. “So did she have some fire under that ice?”
Miroku raised his eyes and returned the grin. “She most defiantly did. In fact I think I got burned.”
Inuyasha whistled in appreciation his grin getting wider. “So tell me what was the fire like?” Miroku lost his smile and shook his head.
“Sorry friend. The rules change when it's a wife. They'll be no tales from me today.” Inuyasha shrugged good-naturedly. “Fine. I have enough hot fantasies of her friend running through my head as it is. But if I were you I'd go get some more of that fire to improve your bad mood. You know what they say fight fire with fire.”
On a laugh Miroku reached for his phone. “For once I think your right. Now let's get you signed so you can work on making those fantasies in your head a reality.” He ordered his secretary to bring in Inuyasha's contract and they spent the next half an hour going over it.

Sango had enjoyed catching up with Kagome and was glad to see that her presence brought a little more color to her brothers sunken cheeks. The chemo seemed to be making him worse. Luckily she had taken Dr. Sesshoumaru terse advice to learn more about chemotherapy. She now knew that this was normal. That is often made people sicker before making them well. They had shared dinner with him though he didn't really feel like eating. She had gone home in a good mood having hope that he would get better. However when she entered her stomach started grumbling. The house was pretty quite so she made her way to the kitchen were she usually had breakfast. She had just gotten herself an apple not feeling like heating anything up when she felt a presence behind her.
“Oh I didn't know you were home.” She said startled as she faced her husband.
”Same here. I just heard a noise and came to investigate.” Miroku said leaning against the entrance way. He stood shirtless his chest slightly sweaty.
“Oh, I'm sorry to disturb you.” She said softly her eyes traveling his body without wanting too.
“You didn't. I was just working out. Had to release some tension.” He said feasting his eyes on her. He had been surprised to come upon her as he was going up to take a shower in the extra room he was using for the moment. She was a sight for lustful eyes even in her prim gray business skirt and white satin tank top.
Sango swallowed the sudden lump in her throat as her heart speed up. “Did you have a rough day a work?” She hated the words as soon as they came out of her mouth. They sounded to wifey. Miroku on the other hand grinned at her question.
“Not particularly. Most of my tension came from thinking about you.” Miroku was just as surprised as she was at his comment. They both quickly covered their reaction and Sango shifted feet before replying.
“That's strange. I haven't even seen you. I didn't think you were thinking about me at all.” She had tried to make her voice dismissive.
“Don't you know you don't have to see something to want it.” He said his look serious as he started across the floor towards her. Sango watched him come closer like prey with no where to run, the apple all but forgotten in her hand. When he was less then two feet away from her he stopped. She held his eyes and her breathe as she waited on him to say something else.
“So what were you doing in here anyway? Getting a late night snack?” He asked totally throwing her off from the pervious sexual atmosphere.
“Um yes. Just a little something before bed.” She said waving the apple in her hand at him.
“I'm sure that's what Eve said right before she took a bite. We'll don't let me stop you. Eat it.” She'd had to say the word bed and now his only thought was getting her in one with him. She saw the challenge in his eyes and narrowed hers.
“I will.” She proclaimed before bringing the apple to her mouth and taking a bite. He watched every movement as if she was Eve herself breaking the sacred commandment. She flicked out her tongue to lick the juice that ran down her chin without thinking about it until she saw intense passion flare to life in his eyes and her throat tightened around the apple she was trying to swallow. Suddenly she sat the apple on the kitchen island that she was standing next to.
“I think I changed my mind. I'm not hungry anymore. I think I'll just go to bed.” She took a step forward he didn't move.
“A shame.” He said in a dangerously low sexy voice. “I'm hungry…and I want to go to bed.” There was no mistaking his meaning and as he closed the space between them she was already reaching up and tilting her head for his kiss. His tongue claimed her mouth as her hands ran up his sweaty back. In the blink of an eye he picked her up and sat her on the island knocking off the apple of temptation. He nestled between her legs pushing her ridicules long skirt up her thighs, one hand already reaching pushing up her shirt to see her breasts. She threw her head back as he kissed her neck feeling his fingers brush over her panties. She was stunned at how quickly all thoughts of ignoring him, hating him, had fled her head at his touch. She felt his fingers go inside her and gasped bringing her head up.
“What…what are you doing? We can't do this here!” He ignored her and pulled her bra down to expose her breasts his fingers still moving inside her.
“Says who? I'm the master of this castle.” Then he took a nipple in his mouth and she temporarily lost thought again. As he went to switch breast she formed another brief thought.
“But what is someone sees us.” He looked up and grinned at her.
“If they know what's good for them they'll act blind, deaf and dumb!” He shouted. She blushed deeply horrified…that is until he took her lips again. Then she didn't care who heard or saw. He pleasured her with his hands on the kitchen island and took her on the kitchen floor until they were both satisfied. Afterwards he carried her upstairs, their clothes bundled in her arms…she didn't want to leave any evidence.
