From the Lageryaren Chronicles, kept by Abbot Mushin XII, Chief Brewmaster of the Abbey of Merry Vineyard.

While many years in this season we are busy making merry to celebrate the year's lager, this year finds us with a more serious face. A young village girl, one Kagome by name, brought in what appears to be a shipwrecked traveler. This is man is surely in possession of nobility, both in character and lineage. He is, however, not in possession of his memories. I leave record here what we do know of him so far, in hopes someone will someday unravel the riddle.

Our stranger stands tall, a good head and shoulders above Brother Miroku who as all know is one of the taller lads around these parts. In his colouring he is very pale, but not the pall of illness. Rather it is as if he is possessed of moonlight. Long hair which is silver enough to put his armor to shame has also put the novices in our attached convent twittering away like birds. His equipment also points to the man's nobility even in its strangeness. He carried two swords when Kagome found him. One is a good right broadsword - the kind a mounted knight should never find himself without. There is a shadow of the Devil about it though, as if it has seen too much bloodshed and hungers for more. The other sword is much too small and light for battle but emanates holiness which easily balances and overpowers the other aura. Perhaps his purpose is to guard the first sword with the second?

Our stranger's armor is odd as well, mainly for the lack of it. He wore only a breastplate for armor when he was found - a symptom of his struggle to survive in the ocean. That breastplate holds our only key to his identity. His heraldry was upon it. His symbol is six red lines interlaced top to bottom as if they were the markings of a beast's claws behind a pale blue crescent moon. While none here recognized it, I sent Brother Miroku to Berlin where a large repository of this kind of information can be found.

We have decided to call our guest Alberic, after the Fairy King of Pagan lore, until time and information brings forth the answers that are blocked within his mind.
