Chapter 10: Kikyo = trouble

So apparently I'm causing too much stress in my life and must be mediacated or else my muscle tighten around me too much. Oh joy, well now I have many a drug to keep me happy plus writing for you wonderful people really helps so I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I do writing it.

Kagome slowly woke up surrounded in warmth, she kissed Sesshomaru's chest lightly making sure not to wake him. She glanced at the clock, it was ten in the morning she didn't have to be in school until two and he didn't have class today. She snuggled closer to him. The feel of his naked flesh surrounding her like a blanket brought a feeling of pure bliss to her. She couldn't help it everything was just perfect.

She heard someone stumble as they walked down the hallway followed by a stream of curses from what she figured was Inuyasha. `Well its almost perfect,' she thought as she remembered Kikyo's angry glare from last night when the sweetest thing was done for her and not Kikyo. She sighed, `it's time this ended,' she thought resolutely.

Sesshomaru stirred from his sleep slightly, she looked up to find him smiling at her with his eyes still full of sleep. She smiled at him and moved up in his arms so they were face to face, she could still tell he was not truly awake and decided she'd let him sleep some more. She leaned over and kissed his eyelids closed. "Sleep its early," she whispered.

He just nodded slightly and drifted back to sleep, she couldn't help but smile at that. She went to get out of bed so she could talk to Inuyasha about Kikyo before he left for school but found that, two strong arms refused to let go. She gave a second half-hearted attempt to get out of bed and when she failed she just gave in to the warmth that she really didn't want to leave.

"I'll talk to him before my class," she decided before she drifted back to sleep.

Kagome woke once again but this time it was different… something was missing. She felt around the bed then opened her eyes and sure enough Sesshomaru was nowhere insight. `Where'd he go?' She thought pulling the covers closer around her to keep out the chill. It wasn't really that cold but compared to having Sesshomaru wrapped around her a summer's day seemed closer to a winters breeze.

Kagome got out of bed and put on some clothes, she was tempted to go search for him but decided to get ready for the day first. She went into the bathroom and did just that.

When she finally emerged from the bathroom she found Sesshomaru lying on the bed with only silk lavender shorts on. He lay gracefully across the bed and in front of him was a tray full with breakfast foods.

"What's this?" she asked walking to the bed.

"Breakfast in bed what else would it be?" Sesshomaru answered.

Kagome smiled and sat across from him on the bed, "thank you."

He just smiled at her and they began to eat.

Later that day Kagome sat in front of Inuyasha's class waiting for him to get out so they could talk. She was tired of Kikyo, she was only going to hurt Inuyasha in the end, she knew it all along but hadn't realized the truth until last night. Kikyo was just like Kagura and Inuyasha was making the same mistake his brother had made.

`Maybe that's why he always rubbed it in Sessh's face, so he didn't have to admit he is doing the same thing.' Kagome thought. `Why can't women like that just leave them alone?'

As if on cue Kikyo walked up to Kagome and glared down at her as she sat on the ground. Kagome looked up at her giving her a fake smile. "Hello Kikyo, how can I help you?" `Other than send you to a psyche ward.' She thought sarcastically.

"Get out of my face and away from my boyfriend." Kikyo ordered coldly.

"Excuse me but one I was hear first and two you have no business telling me to stay away from my best friend." Kagome said.

"I know what you're trying to do and I'm warning you to stay out of it, you have no business trying to separate us. Why don't you just take you little lap dog and go away." Kikyo's voice had risen slightly.

Kagome rose up so she was face to face with Kikyo, they were the same height so looking her in the eyes was easy. "Leave Sesshomaru out of this," Kagome growled out.

"You stick your nose where it doesn't belong and I will do what I need to keep what is mine." Kikyo said.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

""I can get any man I want and you can't stop me, if you truly wish, I won't play nice anymore. I'll take what is mine and you'll be left alone." Kikyo told her.

Kagome laughed, she couldn't help it. "You're a whore Kikyo, no one belongs to you especially Sesshomaru and Inuyasha." The laughter in her voice died immediately, "I heard about how you try to get what is yours, it doesn't work, he doesn't care about sluts like you."

Kagome stumbled back from Kikyo punching her in the face. She went to retaliate but found she was blocked by silver hair.

Inuyasha was fuming at Kikyo, `how dare she hurt Kagome.' Kikyo smiled at him sweetly. "Get out of her Kikyo." Inuyasha ordered.

"But Inuyasha, she attacked me," Kikyo said.

"Get away we'll talk about this later," Inuyasha said already turning around to check on Kagome.

"You don't even care about me," Kikyo whined.

Inuyasha turned back around showing all the anger that burned in his violet orbs. "You just punched my best friend, now leave."

Kikyo huffed and stormed away.

Inuyasha turned back to Kagome to find her holding the left side of her face, and blood trickling down it. "I'm so sorry."

"It's not your fault Yasha just don't buy her rings anymore please." Kagome said.

Inuyasha smiled, "let me take a look at that."

She removed her hand to reveal a bruise forming around several deep gashes on her cheek. "She really packs a punch," she said while looking at the blood on her hand.

"I have a first aid kit in my car, I can clean this up for you but, you might need stitches." Inuyasha said.

Kagome nodded, putting her hand back to her cheek to apply pressure.

On the way to the car they ran into Sesshomaru, Kagome bumped into him because she was too busy looking at her feet to realize he was right in front of her.

"Sorry," she mumbled and went to walk around the figure still not looking up to see who it was. She stopped when she felt a hand on the one she was holding her cheek with. She looked up to find Sesshomaru looking at her in confusion.

"What happened," he asked, the worry was etched in his voice, he noticed Inuyasha avert his gaze and turned a cold glare toward him.

Kagome squeezed his free hand with her own free hand. But, he kept his eyes on his brother trying to burn a hole in his head with just his look. "Come with us to Inuyasha car and I'll explain while Inuyasha is patching me up," Kagome said.

Sesshomaru looked at her and his eyes softened, "are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm okay, my face won't be for awhile but wounds heal," She said.

They started walking toward Inuyasha car again, Sesshomaru put an arm around Kagome and pulled her in close. He felt her body release some tension and kissed the top of her head.

At the car Inuyasha sat Kagome on the hood o his Jeep and stood in front of her and began cleaning and patching up her face.

Sesshomaru stood to the side, watching them waiting for an answer. When he saw the damage done to Kagomes' face he almost went on a rampage.

Kagome noticed the tension in Sesshomaru's stance, "it's not as bad as it looks," she said trying to pacify him.

"What happened?" He asked, she could tell he was beyond upset, but knew when he found out it would make this seem calm.

She motioned for him to sit next to her, he did and she took his hand in hers. "Kikyo and I had a disagreement." Kagome felt him stiffen even more and began tracing invisible circles on the back of his hand. "I called her some nasty names and she punched me."

"It looks like more that a punch to me," Sesshomaru stated while glaring at Inuyasha as he worked on Kagome.

"She was wearing the rings Inuyasha had bought her," Kagome said.

That seemed to be the breaking point for Sesshomaru, he needed to punch something and Inuyasha looked like a great target. He got off the vehicle and backed his brother up against a truck.

"Sessh it wasn't his fault leave him alone." Kagome pleaded.

Sesshomaru went to land a punch but Inuyasha dodged it and moved away from the vehicle. "It's okay Kagome just let him blow off the steam." Inuyasha said as he dodged another attack from his brother.

Kagome was still worried but kept her mouth shut, she'd seen them fight before and Sesshomaru held himself better than this, something else had to have happened to send him into this type of rage.

They kept their dance up but Inuyasha was getting tired of dodging his brother and noticed that for once the more he fought the less careful he became.

The next punch he threw Inuyasha dodged and swept his feet out from under him. He put a foot hard onto his chest when he noticed Sesshomaru try to get up.

"Get off me," Sesshomaru ordered.

"No," was all Inuyasha said.

Kagome got off the Jeep and sat next to Sesshomaru, "let him up Inuyasha he won't try it again, will you?" She said moving his bangs from his eyes.

Sesshomaru went to nod his head but stopped in mid motion and winced. Inuyasha stepped back from his brother and watched as Kagome moved to cradle his head in her lap. He stayed there for a moment but then went to sit up and almost fell back into her lap. But Kagome caught him and moved so he could rest his head on her shoulder.

He tried to protest, "I'm fine Kagome let me up."

"You're not fine, you hit your head really hard." Kagome said, "just rest for a minute and then we'll moved you to the car."

"Okay," Sesshomaru sighed into her shoulder.

Inuyasha noticed his eyes closing, "shit, Sesshomaru don't you dare go to sleep."

His eyes opened, "what are you talking about let me rest." He said closing his eyes again.

"Kagome he's got a concussion, I thought he would brace himself when he fell." Inuyasha explained.

"Oh no, Sessh come on we have to get up." Kagome said.

"Okay," Sesshomaru said. Inuyasha and Kagome helped him up and into the backseat of the Jeep. Kagome sat with him and waited as Inuyasha packed up the first aid kit.

He put the kit in the front seat, "Kagome call Miroku, we're going to the hospital." Inuyasha said.

Kagome dialed Miroku's number on her cell while Sesshomaru argued that the hospital was over reacting.

She smiled at him, "I need to go anyway for stitches."

Miroku picked up the other end. ~Kagome my dear~

"Not now Miroku, we're on our way to pick you up, we think Sessh has a concussion. We're going to the hospital but we don't know what else to do." Kagome explained.

~I'm on my way to entrance of my school, just keep him awake until I get there~ Miroku instructed, all the humor had drained from his voice and now he was all business. There were times that people couldn't see him as being a doctor, but times like this it was obvious he would make a great one.

"If he falls asleep," Kagome asked.

~Don't let it happen that would be very bad. I'm hanging up now, I'll be waiting at the entrance.~ The line went dead.

Kagome hung up her phone, "he'll be at the entrance to his school Yasha" Kagome said.

"I'm sorry Kagome but she hurt you and - " Kagome cut him off by putting her finger gently against his lips.

"It's okay I understand," she smiled at him and kissed him on the lips.

"I love you," he said when she pulled away.

"I love you too, just stay awake with me okay?" Kagome said.

"Okay but can I rest my head on your shoulder, I feel really dizzy." Sesshomaru told her, already leaning toward her shoulder, she stopped him. "Please Kagome, I'm not going to fall asleep."

"Sorry Sessh, we'll be there shortly okay." Kagome said, she felt bad but she didn't want him to fall asleep.

The Jeep pulled over and Miroku hopped in turning in his seat to face Sesshomaru.

"How are you feeling?" Miroku asked. Sesshomaru just looked at him like he asked the stupidest question in the world. Kagome nudged him lightly in the ribs. "Tell him how you feel Sessh he just wants to help." Kagome told him, her voice was calm but inside she was worried.

Sesshomaru sighed, "my head hurts, I'm dizzy and I feel very nauseous, how would you feel?"

"Okay, I want you to lie down in Kagomes' lap. But, you have to keep talking to us," Miroku said.

"Finally," Sesshomaru mumbled while lying down and resting in Kagomes' lap. She began stroking his hair.

Miroku handed Kagome a vomit bag from the first aid kit. She looked at him funny. "He said he's nauseous, it's common for people with concussions to vomit," Miroku stated.

"I will not throw up," Sesshomaru said, but even he knew it was likely to happen.

Kagome smiled and handed him the bag, "just in case. I think Inuyasha would kill you if you threw up on his interior instead of in the bag." Kagome said, he took the bag but he didn't look happy about it.

"Is there anything else odd Sesshomaru," Miroku asked.

"My ears won't stop ringing," he said.

"The Jeep jumped and rocked as they drove over a large pot hole. "That was not smart, Inuyasha." Miroku said.

Sesshomaru groaned and looked up at Kagome silently pleading to make it stop. Then he noticed she was slightly blurry, he looked around and everything seemed a little out of focus. He looked back up at Kagome and she saw a flash of fear in his eyes.

"What's wrong Sessh?" Kagome asked.

"Everything is out of focus," Sesshomaru answered, to Miroku it sounded like his casual self, but to Kagome and Inuyasha they could hear the uncertainty and fear in his voice.

Kagome caressed his cheek, "it will be okay." The Jeep stopped in front of the emergency room entrance.

"We're hear, Kagome, Miroku help him inside, I'll park the car and meet you in there." Inuyasha said.

"Actually I think we should have a wheel chair brought out for you," Miroku told Sesshomaru.

"I'll walk," his voice held no room for arguing.

"Fine, don't take my advice." Miroku said, he got out of the car. Sesshomaru followed but after two steps outside the car he lost his balance and would've fell backwards if Kagome wasn't there to catch him.

She put his arm around her shoulder and hers around his waist. "Just like a walk in a park," she said smiling slightly.

He smiled back and she helped him into the emergency room.

After being brought into a room and put through a CAT scan all Sesshomaru wanted to do was put his head in Kagomes' lap and fall asleep.

He looked over at her as they waited back in the room for the results of the CAT scan. She had a deep bruise covering her left cheek and a bandage over five stitched. "I'm sorry Kagome."

"It's okay but why did you get so upset, I mean I knew you were going to be upset but, not that upset." Kagome said, taking his hand in hers and squeezing it slightly.

"Before I ran into you guys, Kikyo ran into me, literally as well, only hers was on purpose. She tried again; when I refused she slapped me and stormed away." Sesshomaru said.

"It's just not a good day," Kagome paused. "I'm gunna hurt her Sessh, I'm so sick of this shit."

"You say that like it's happened before," Sesshomaru said.

Kagome sighed," this is the first time she's hurt anyone."

"But," Sesshomaru continued for her when she seemed to have stopped. Kagome looked away," Kagome what don't I know?"

"You know Kikyo and I never liked each other. What you don't know is that a few months ago she started threatening me. I guess now she's pissed because I have you and she doesn't."

"Why didn't you tell me about this?" Sesshomaru asked, he was a little upset that she never told him.

She shrugged," I never took it seriously, it was just annoying to deal with."

They both looked up as the doctor walked in. "Okay Mr. Takeda I've looked over your CAT scan and you have a mild concussion. What I want you to do is go home, make sure someone is with you and stay awake for another ten hours. Is there anyone who can stay with you for that long?" The doctor asked.

Sesshomaru looked over to Kagome, she nodded." Yeah, I can stay with him."

"Okay, just make sure he stays awake, if he goes to sleep and you can't wake him up call 911 and get an ambulance. Also he should have no pain medication until tomorrow, if he seems to be getting worse or the symptoms are still there in the morning come back here." The doctor instructed them.

"Thank you doctor," Sesshomaru said.

"Okay if you don't have any questions you're free to go."

The drive back from the hospital was quiet, Inuyasha dropped Miroku back off at his school and Kagome and Sesshomaru at Kagomes' car and drove off to think about some things. Kagome and Sesshomaru spent the nest ten hours playing games, and watching movies by the end of the ten hours Sesshomaru seemed very tired and she helped him into bed and for once he fell asleep being cradled by Kagome.

Wow that was a long chapter oh and I suppose you're wondering why Inuyasha conveniently has a first aid kit in his car. Well he and Sessh spar a lot and accidents happen so they have both learned to keep a first aid kit in their car. I hope you liked the chapter please review
