Inuyasha waited outside Kagome's house, no one was home. He knew Kagome wouldn't be, she and Sesshomaru were on a date, but she said she had a lot of studying to do so he knew she'd be home soon.

A few minutes later Sesshomaru's black eclipse convertible pulled into her driveway. He saw Sesshomaru pull Kagome into a kiss and then she stepped out of the car.

"Hey Inuyasha, what's up?" Kagome asked as she walked toward him. He cringed inwardly looking at the stitches on her face. She did her best to cover everything up but, day old bruises and cuts don't like to hide.

"I broke up with Kikyo," he told her softly, "I'm really sorry Kagome."

"You didn't break up with her because of me did you?" Kagome asked as she sat next to him on the steps.

"I saw most of the fight yesterday, I saw what I meant to her…" Inuyasha said staring up at the few stars that managed to poke out through the clouds.

"I'm sorry, I know you love her." Kagome said putting a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"But she doesn't feel the same way, apparently she never did," Inuyasha stated.

"Do you want to come in for awhile?" Kagome asked.

"No, you have to study, I just came by to tell you. And to apologize, I didn't think she'd hit you."

"Neither did I but you don't have to be sorry for anything. Are you sure you won't come in?" Kagome asked.

He smiled, "nah go study, I'm gunna go blow off some steam." Inuyasha said standing up.

Kagome frowned, "Don't fight Sessh please, he's still a little woozy."

It was Inuyasha's turn to frown, "did I really hurt him that bad?"

Kagome shrugged, "he's got a big bump and a major headache, I told him to go to bed, when you go home can you make sure he did so?"

"Sure, ya know, I used to jump for joy when I could manage to hurt him. Now, I feel horrible." Inuyasha admitted.

"Don't for once, although I'm glad, it means you're finally growing up.," Kagome said.

To prove her wrong he stuck out his tongue, which made them both laugh. They said their goodnights and Inuyasha left so she could study.

Kagome was taking a break from studying and taking a walk in the park, it was normal routine for her. The always woods seemed to relax her. She stopped in her tracks when she heard a familiar voice.

She quietly made it close enough to see and hear Kikyo, talking to a tall shapely black haired woman with long black hair and brown eyes that seemed red under the lamp light.

"I can't believe he dumped you." Kagome heard the woman say.

"It's all that little tramps fault, first she takes Sesshomaru from you and now she steals away my Inuyasha." Kikyo ranted, "I'm sure if she wasn't in the picture you could've made Sesshomaru see past your little spat with him."

The woman nodded, "it's time we got rid of this little nuisance," the woman said.

`They actually blame me for losing them? Unbelievable, and you is she anyway?' Kagome thought to herself as she listened to the two bitch to each other.

"I think the boys should have to pay as well, they did fall for her little act." Kikyo said.

"You have a plan?" The woman asked.

"Patience Kagura, I have only half of the plan, but don't worry we'll get our revenge." Kikyo promised.

Kagome had enough `first she hits me now she's plotting with Kagura,' "I think not." Kagome said walking out behind them.

Kikyo turned, "well well if it isn't the little vixen, fine I'll deal with you now." Kikyo went to punch Kagome. But this time she was prepared for it and blocked it delivering a punch of her own to Kikyos' stomach causing her to stumble backwards.

Kagura watched as they fought, both seemed skilled in fighting, but Kagome was getting the upper hand. She went to attack Kagome but a quick round house to her head sent her to the ground and put her in her place.

Kikyo took the opportunity of Kagura's distraction and swept Kagome's feet out from under her. Kagome returned the favor and jumped to her feet putting one foot on Kikyos' chest to make sure she didn't get up.

"Listen here bitches, leave Inuyasha and Sesshomaru alone, you so don't deserve them and I will make sure neither of you can harm them." It had begun to rain sometime during their battle and Kagome was starting to get cold now that the adrenaline was leaking away from her system.

Kagome was so busy with Kikyo she failed to notice Kagura get up and pull out a knife. "Who's gunna protect you?" Kagura asked.

Kagome turned just in time to dodge Kaguras' knife. `Fuck!' She thought and started running, she didn't bother to turn back to see if they were following her, she just ran until she reached Sesshomaru and Inuyashas' house.

She knocked on the door and turned to find Kikyo and Kagura lurking in the distance, waiting to see if someone would answer the door. She saw they were about to advance and was ready to run again when the door opened.

Mr. Takeda stood in the doorway looking puzzled. "Hello kagome, shouldn't you be studying?"

"Yeah well, I took a walk in the park and got caught in the storm, and your place was closer, so I was hoping Sessh could give me a ride home." Kagome explained.

Mr. Takeda motioned for her to enter, "unfortunately Sesshomaru is sleeping but, you are welcome to stay her fro the night if you wish."

"Thank you Mr. Takeda, I really appreciate it." Kagome said smiling at him.

"Just Inutashio, Kagome, you're practically family there is no need for formalities. Now, I'm going to retire, I suggest you take a shower and do the same."

"Thank you again Inutashio and goodnight." Kagome said.

"Goodnight Kagome." They went their separate ways, after Kagome took a shower and got changed she went into Sesshomarus' room. He sat up when she entered the room, she saw a hint of panic in his eyes but it faded after a moment.

"Hi," Kagome whispered, closing the door behind her softly after she entered the room.

"Hi, what are you doing here?" Sesshomaru asked puzzled.

"I got caught in the rain your dad let me in." Kagome explained. `There's no need to worry him,' she thought.

"Father's home?" He asked as she walked to his bed.

She nodded then tilted her head at him; something was off about him. " Are you okay Sessh?"

"He lifted to the covers and she slid in. He buried his face in her hair, inhaling her scent, pulling her as close to him as possible. "Not anymore," he whispered, she smiled and fell asleep in the safety of his arms.

The next day Kagome and Sango sat in a corner of the cafeteria; Sango was shocked to hear about Kagome's encounter of last night.

"What are you going to do? Are you going to tell them?" Sango asked.

"How can I tell them do you know how much that will hurt them especially Sesshomaru, knowing Kagura's back in town." Kagome sighed, "this is a disaster."

"I agree, well at least tonight you can keep an eye on both of them at he same time and I'll tell Miroku maybe he can help." Sango suggested.

"Yeah, man I tonight I was supposed to be able to relax now, what if they know about our party?" Kagome said, she was beginning to panic, if Kikyo heard that they were having a party to cheer up Inuyasha after he broke up with her the shit would really hit the fan

"Relax, we'll all be there, we'll have our night of fun and then tomorrow you have to tell them what happened." Sango said.

"You're right lets just hope my nerves last through the night." Kagome said.

Sango saw Sesshomaru walk up behind Kagome and decided to change the subject." So Kagome who's doing the run to the liquor store for tonight and make sure they get lots of Captain Morgan you know I need my man."

Sesshomaru slid into the booth next to Kagome and put his arm around her giving her a kiss on her temple before answering Sangos' question for her. "I'm going and you know I'll get Captain Morgan, it is an essential.

"You're the best Sesshomaru." Sango said.

"I know, but don't you think Miroku will be upset to find out you think so." Sesshomaru replied.

"I'm sure he'd be heart broken so don't tell, it will be our secret." Sango said.

Kagome chuckled, "but not mine." She laughed harder when Sesshomaru started tickling her, "stop" she said in between giggles, "I give you secrets safe with me."

"And do you think I'm the best?" He asked not relenting.

"Yes, yes you're the best now stop I can't breathe." Kagome said. He let her go so she could catch her breath and then smiled when she snuggled closer to him.

"Now back to the party please," Sango prompted. They began figuring out what else they could do to help cheer up the melancholy Inuyasha
