A small figure climbed up the stairs towards the locked door. Her steps broke the quietness of the night as she held a lantern in her hand.

 

She was dressed in a pink silk kimono and her hair was left to flow freely.

 

As she neared the door, someone spoke.

 

“Kagome, Have you done what I told you to?”

 

It was Kaguya, the mistress of the castle.

 

“Yes.”

 

“Good. I shall be mediating for 2 months. I will not leave the room. Do not enter the tower. If there are any unwanted visitors, Let Inuyasha out on them. Understand?”

 

Inuyasha isn't your pet.

 

“Yes.”

 

“Good. Now, you many go.”

 

The figure turned to leave…As the light from the lantern slowly disappeared.

It had been a year since Kaguya had trapped Inuyasha's human form on the mirror of hers.

Kagome had willingly decided to be Kaguya's servant, so that she could stay beside Inuyasha.

 

Kaguya had traveled around for the starting 2 months collecting rare items and artifacts, using Inuyasha to kill those opposing her…

 

Kagome had to help her in her villainous ways, so that she could stay beside Inuyasha.

She missed home so much…But she couldn't just leave Inuyasha here. She knew his human side was suffering. She wanted to stay by him.

 

Kagome walked towards a garden. A campfire illuminated the place. As she walked closer, she pushed open a bush that was covering a small cove behind.

 

A figure laid down near the fire. As he sensed someone approaching, his white ears pricked and he immediately jumped from his resting place.

 

“Inuyasha… It's me Kagome…”

 

The figure softened and slowly sat down.

“Are you alright?”

 

Inuyasha just sat down and looked at his claws. They were long…and filled with blood.

 

Kagome pulled out a handkerchief and walked towards him.

 

Somehow the only person that Inuyasha wouldn't harm was Kagome. Instead, he tried always protected her, Kaguya didn't like it. But there was nothing she could do. She had already trapped Inuyasha's human form in the mirror. If his Youkai form also wanted to protect Kagome, there was nothing she could do. It didn't prove much of a problem for her though, Inuyasha would kill on her command.

 

Kagome kneeled down next to Inuyasha and slowly lifted up his hand. She held out his fingers and started to clean the blood from his claw. The last assignment that Kaguya sent Inuyasha was to retrieve another mirror from a wealthy warlord family.

 

The warlord had noticed Inuyasha's presence and sent his men to fight Inuyasha. Inuyasha killed every single one of them. He was almost going to slash the warlord into two, until Kagome appeared.

 

“Inuyasha. Let's go.”

 

Kaguya had sent Kagome to follow Inuyasha in case anything went wrong.

 

Inuyasha's ear pricked and he sniffed the air before growling at the warlord and jumped towards Kagome.

 

The mirror was on the floor.

 

“This mirror…is cursed.”

 

The warlord shivered as he watched the figure clad in a pink kimono pick it up. Immediately the mirror was surrounded in a pink aura.

 

“It is not for a human family to keep. I shall take it.”

 

Kagome picked up the mirror and left with Inuyasha following behind.

Tears rolled down her cheeks and fell onto Inuyasha's hand.

 

“Inuyasha…All because of me…You had to go through so much suffering…I'll stay by your side forever…One day, I'll free you.”

 

Inuyasha lifted his head and looked at Kagome.

 

Those eyes…once gold, now blood red…

 

Kagome cleaned his fingers and tucked the handkerchief under her sleeve.

 

She held out a plate…

 

“Here, I though you might be hungry.”

 

Inuyasha sniffed the food and started to eat.

 

Kagome looked at him…And took a comb out. She got up and kneeled behind Inuyasha. Slowly she combed his long sliver hair…

 

Inuyasha…Your hair has grown longer…

 

Inuyasha finished the rest of the food and sniffed around waiting for Kagome to finish.

 

Kagome smiled and kept the comb, slowly she reached out and touched his ears.

 

Inuyasha moved and laid down on her lap as she stroked his ears, she smiled.

 

It had almost become a daily routine by now, she couldn't sleep if she knew Inuyasha was sleeping out in the cold. Every night, Inuyasha's cove almost became her bedroom.

Slowly she closed her eyes and leaned onto a tree, the night had always been peaceful as long as she knew she was near to Inuyasha…

The morning light shined down onto the cove as Kagome opened her eyes, she looked down as she saw Inuyasha sleeping peacefully on her lap… Although he had become a full youkai, Inuyasha never saw her as a stranger and always welcomed her arrival. He let Kagome comb his hair and stroke his ears every night…Maybe this was the only thing that made him feel not alone…If it was, Kagome didn't mind doing it every night.

 

All that changed in Inuyasha was his eyes, his claws and his fangs. Inuyasha still wore his fire rat haori. It was his only protection.

 

Inuyasha slowly stirred from his sleep and got up…He sniffed around the air and jumped up. He jumped away from the cove and towards the castle.

 

Kagome sighed and got up. It was Inuyasha's daily routine, everyday to patrol the castle grounds for intruders.

 

She walked towards a hot spring. At least this place had a place for her to take a bath every morning.

Kagome slowly slipped off her pink kimono and got into the hot spring. She knew how Inuyasha hated it when the group stopped to take baths. But she wasn't used to it because she came from the future…Kagome closed her eyes… Today was going to be another day…

 

Not far, a pair of eyes watched her closely…

 

“Oh my, it's a Tennyo, she's taking bath… It isn't appropriate for me to watch. I should leave.”

 

“Hey you! Come over here! What are you doing there?!”

 

The man dragged the watcher from the hot spring away.

 

“You shouldn't be here. Quick we must leave before Inuyasha senses us.”

 

“Hey…Who are you?! I'm here on official business!”

 

“Official? Why are you peeping at Kagome? Come let's go!”

 

The man dragged him towards the castle wall.

 

“Quick climb over!”

 

The intruder climbed over the castle wall and hopped down.

 

“Ek! What's this!?”

 

“Shh! Look, my name's Miroku and this is Kirara.”

 

Apparently, the intruder had been scared by Kirara's fearsome appearance.

 

“Quick we must leave! It is not safe anymore.”

 

Miroku immediately pushed the intruder onto Kirara and jumped on after.

 

“Let's go Kirara!”

 

The fire cat roared and flew off into the sky.
