It was mid day and shippo and katsuki were walking down the beaten path to the south. Shippo did not tell katsuki that he had visited kagome. It was a long road to the next town and he didn't want a lengthy conversation about that.

 

The pair stopped at a river to refill their canteens. The two surveyed their surroundings. It was all hills say for a few trees here and there were a few mountains in the east. There were storm clouds in the distance coming in their direction. “They'll be here by nightfall. Let's get moving.” Shippo observed. Katsuki nodded and the two continued down the road.

 

The storm was coming in fast. The two kitsunne stopped at an empty shack. They went in deciding to wait out the storm. They set up everything and waited for the storm to come.

 

Inuyasha looked into the sky “It's going to rain soon.” kagome, who was filling up the bottled water, nodded and rode her bicycle ahead with her son in the basket. Inuyasha continued to look into the sky. He's nearby; if I know him he will wait this out before going on

 

“I'm going to get some fire wood”…“okay”

Shippo walked out into the woods. He bent down to grab some tinder and a chill went down his spine. He spun around. Nothing was there. Startle easily don't you? It was the voice in his dreams. “Pestering me in my waking hours too huh? How am I not surprised?” oh I wont be hear for a while I'm just giving you a suggestion “and that would be?” id say to prepare for a battle “what!?” the voice spoke no more. Shippo got a sudden flash of the image of the shack. He ran towards the shack in haste.

 

Kagome and inuyasha walked into a dense forest. The wind was picking up. They saw that the road was recently traveled. They stopped when they saw a shack where a pair of tracks. They started toward it. The door opened and they saw a female kitsunne in the door way. When she saw them she froze. The three felt a gust of wind against the storm. Kagome turned around to find shippo with a shocked expression on his face.

 

Shippo stood there stiff as a board in the presence of his former mother. They stood in silence for a brief moment when a crack of thunder broke it. “Uh hello long time no see.” Shippo said clumsily. Inuyasha scowled “after six years that is the only thing you can say!” inuyasha reached for tetsusaiga. Kagome stopped him “not yet… let me guess, guilt trips?” shippo eased a little “you could say that” shippo jr. looked at his name sake “that's the man that pulled me out of the river mommy” kagome glanced at her child, “shippo why don't you go play in the woods.” The young hanyou ran off laughing they way children often do.

 

Shippo saw that katsuki was still in shock. This gave shippo a chance to try out an ability. Shippo reached with his mind and touched katsuki's conciseness take it easy we'll be fine. It worked she eased up but was still tense. “It seems to me that you've been looking for me, well you've found me, what's next?” inuyasha was annoyed by this “what do you think we'll do?”…“ok, kill me then, if you can”

 

Kagome grabbed her bow and inuyasha drew tetsusaiga. Shippo following suite drew akumu. Katsuki drew both houka and aisu. Inuyasha jumped forward and attacked with a down ward slash. Shippo sidestepped it with ease and struck him with the hilt of akumu. Katsuki ran full speed at kagome. Kagome summoned her miko powers and pushed katsuki back with sheer power and sent her flying into the forest. Kagome ran after her. “You take care of shippo I got her” inuyasha nodded after parrying a blow from shippo. Inuyasha slashed at shippo from the side. Shippo blocked it and removed one of his hands from his hilt and punched inuyasha in the chest sending him flying into a tree. “When did you get so strong?” inuyasha said while staggering up. “You wouldn't believe me even If I told you.”

 

Katsuki narrowly dodged one of kagome's sacred arrows. Damn this girl is powerful. Katsuki spun houka around to make a mini flaming tornado and sent it toward kagome. Kagome waved her hand and it dissipated. Katsuki stared in disbelief and didn't notice that kagome was fast and right up next to her. Kagome grabbed her throat. Her miko powers began to electrocute her. She let go used her bow and forced her up against a tree.

 

Inuyasha was getting the beating of his life. He had to use tetsusaiga as a crutch. “Had enough yet?”…“not on your life” he picked up tetsusaiga and slashed only to be parried effortlessly. Inuyasha jumped back “that's it” he gathered his strength. Wind swirled around his sword. “Wind Scar!” shippo forced akumu into the earth. “FOX FIRE” the blue fire surrounded him and expanded into a barrier. The wind scar didn't do so much as scratch shippo. Inuyasha charged forward and tetsusaiga turned red. Shippo's barrier was destroyed and inuyasha pulled a fast one and cut shippo's shoulder. Inuyasha didn't stop there he then decked shippo right in the face. Shippo shook it off and threw a punch. Inuyasha dodged it and followed up by cutting shippo's side. What the! He was toying with me! Shippo steeled himself and swung akumu. Inuyasha ducked under the slash. Shippo took advantage of the moment and grabbed Inuyasha's shirt and head butted him. Inuyasha staggered backwards due to the blow. He then used his sword to flip upwards and do downward slash amplified by a wind scar. Shippo was thrown backwards into a pile of fallen trees

 

Katsuki cried in pain. She was missing her entire left arm. She used houka and burned the stub to stop the bleeding. Kagome drew and drew her bow. Katsuki stared at what seemed to be death its self when she looked at kagome. I can't beat her she's practically a god I gotta do something or I'm a goner. Kagome released the arrow. It seemed to burn with an inner madness. She dodged it just in time. I gotta find shippo. She ran toward the direction shippo was dodging arrows as she went.

 

“DEMON FIRE” shippo realized a massive full power silver and black blaze from the air. “Backlash Wave!” inuyasha sent the entire thing right back at shippo. Shippo fell down to earth soon enough before certain destruction could encompass him. Shippo gasping for breath was kneeling on the ground.

 

“Shippo!” it was katsuki. Inuyasha saw her and threw her to a tree not far from shippo. Shippo examined her. He saw that she was missing an arm. Kagome soon walked towards them. “I think this is over with.” She drew an arrow and aimed at shippo. Once she released it time seemed to slow. The arrow got closer and closer, but shippo saw katsuki get up. “N-” he couldn't speak. Time sped up again and katsuki got in front of the arrow. The arrow struck her in the middle of the chest. Shippo could only watch as katsuki was obliterated in front of him. The arrow continued its course undaunted by her sacrifice. Shippo raised akumu to try to deflect it. The arrow hit the sword. It shattered instantly and shippo was thrown back by a release of enormous power. He blacked out.

 

When the dust cleared kagome and inuyasha saw nothing of shippo. “It's over, it's finally over.”…“is it? When the arrow connected I didn't sense anything getting destroyed.” shippo Jr. walked from one of the few standing parts of the forest. “Mama what was that?” kagome looked upon her child. “Nothing dear just some mean people came by”…“what about the man who saved me.” Kagome saw sadness in his eyes. “He went west with that nice lady.”…“oh, okay!” inuyasha and shippo Jr. went ahead while kagome stayed behind staring at where shippo was. Something isn't right. I don't know what. But there just something not right about this.
