No, I am not dead nor have I disappeared off the face of this earth. Actually, I have been up to my eyebrows with school. Final are finally over, and honestly it was like digging my own grave, and jumping right in. I even had an epitaph done. It says, “Here lays a moron who failed all her finals”. I just finished finals on Friday so now I am working on making you all happy. Once again, I apologize for any spelling errors or grammar errors; I am not an English major for a reason. Of course, constructive criticism is welcome. My well of creativity is suffering from drought and even a sprinkle of inspiration, suggestions or ideas is more than welcomed. I rather lost my flow and momentum after my long absence so if the chapter seems kind of awkward or lacking sorry. Thanks to all my readers and reviewers who have continued to read my story despite the irregulars updates. I will try to get two more chapters up before I have to start school again, but no guarantees there.

Since his embarrassing moment with Remy a few days ago, Logan has been avoiding him like the plague. It is not that Logan is afraid of Remy knowing he cared for Kagome. Deep inside, Logan knew he was falling for the young woman, and falling hard. However, now he was glad that Kagome is away on a mission. Logan has not had the best of luck with relationships in his past. However, his past is as much as a mystery to him as it is to everyone else. With his complicated past Logan is not quite sure he wants to get anyone involved with is life. It would be for his and Kagome's best interest not to attempt any sort of serious relationship other than friendship. However, a couple a casual dates between friends would not hurt too much. Of course, he is positive he really should not be worrying about the possibility of a serious relationship between him and Kagome; it is obvious to him that is newly found affection for her is only one-sided. He has seen Kagome with that other guy, and they seemed very close.

 

Currently Logan has isolated himself in the weight room for the past three hours trying to remove all thoughts of Kagome from constantly haunting his mind. His attempts have all been futile, for not matter, what he did his mind will always stray back to Kagome and her beautiful blue eyes and kind smile. The continuous flow of images of Kagome have only left him more sexually frustrated and the nagging bad feeling he has been feeling did not help the situation either. It has already been a week since the team of three departed for their mission, and there are no signs of return. Usually Logan is not the type to worry but that ominous feeling is really setting him on the edge.

 

As he finished his last sets of weights, the intercom announce that the Professor has requested him and Remy to meet at the office immediately. The Professor rarely request meeting with out a notice a few days before hand, something must be wrong. Getting off the weight machines, Logan grabbed a towel and immediately made his way to see the Professor. On the way, Logan could not help but worry that this has anything to do with the mission Kagome, Jean and Scott was sent on.

 

Luck was not on his side today, after arriving at the office his fears were confirmed. Through out the mission Jean has constantly sent updates of the mission status. It has been more than seventy-two hours since any contact from Jean was heard. This has worried the Professor on the safety of his team. As soon has Remy and Logan received this news, they wasted no time in setting off to find their teammates. They were suited up in their uniforms and headed off to the last known location Jean contacted the Professor.

 

Logan and Remy made their way underground towards their destination. From the last known location of the team, Logan sniffed the air and the walls using is enhanced sense of smell to track down the team. Remy glance seriously at his teammate, “Can you pick up their trail?”

 

“Yes, but this trail is at least three days old. They headed toward this way.” Following the trail though a series of tunnels leading farther underground, they finally reached a dead end. Stopping at the dead end, Logan took his time to analyze the area. “Their trail just ends here Remy, and there is something else in their air and I don't like the smell of it.” Taking a more careful sniff, “I think they may have been ambushed here. They were taken and their trail least straight to that wall over there.”

 

Remy walked up to the wall giving the wall a few taps. The taps give off a more hallow sound than the other two walls, indicating an opening on the other side. “Well Wolverine it seems like the path continues on the other side of this annoying concrete wall.” Cracking his knuckles a bit extending his alloy claws, Logan strode over to the wall. “Well it seems we are just going to have to break thought it then huh?” Slashing at the wall with his claws while Remy threw a few energy charged cards at it, the wall crumbled to a pile of rubble.

 

Continued on their search for their missing teammates, they followed their trail until the captors seems to have split up. Following the stronger scent, Logan and Remy was lead down a hall with four guards standing out side a door. Just as they arrive, a red energy blast came through the door busting it open. Taking this at a queue to take down the guards, Wolverine and Gambit rushed to aid Jean and Scott take down the guards, but Kagome was nowhere to be seen.

 

Concern for Kagome's whereabouts instantly came across Logan. “Jean, Cyclops, where is Kagome?” Logan shouted, as he took out the mutant guard closest to him by a hard punch in the stomach. “We have no idea where they have taken her. When Jean and I woke up we found ourselves in that room and Kagome was not with us.” Scott answered while blasting another mutant across the room, smashing him into the wall. The loud explosion has alerted a few more mutants to their location, but they were quickly put out. Finishing the last of the guards, four X-men stood alert for any more attacks. As the dust settled, two figures could be seen at the one end of the hallway. Upon closer inspection, one of the figures was most definitely a tall man while the other was a small petite woman.

 

For years, he has waited for this very moment, dreaming of this day every minute of his long life. Now his dream has finally come true, his nee-san has finally returned to him. Holding her small form against his body, everything feels so different now that their roles have switched. It used to be he that cuddled into her arms like a small child, now it was Kagome in his arms. Minutes pass before reality set in, drifting back from their cloud nine still sedated from the sudden reunion; they parted from their embrace. Finally getting a good look at his long lost sister, she looks as beautiful at he remembered, if not more. Though as beautiful has his sister looked, there was a deep sadness in her eyes. The spark of innocence can no longer be found in those bright blue eyes replaced by wisdom and knowledge gained through her hardships.

 

After parting, Shippou guided Kagome towards the side of the room with a small green couch. “Come on Kagome we have much to catch up on, it has been too long. I want to know what happened to you since you were sent back.”

 

Kagome gave a small nod. Sitting across from the now grown Shippou, Kagome took in his features, and my how Shippou has grown. Shippou was definitely nothing, like how he used to be. He is now more than six feet tall, short spiky auburn hair. He has a lean muscular frame and his hands were deadly claws. He had multiple piercing in each ear and a piercing on his left eyebrow.

 

“Yes it has been a long time. I have so many things I want to know, but first and foremost where are the other two humans that were with me?”

 

Shippou gave her a reassuring look, “Don't worry nee-san; they are in one of the empty rooms. I made sure they are unharmed and well taken care of. Have you told any of them any thing about your past?”

 

Shaking her head sadly, “no, I have not told anyone anything regarding my past. I do not want anyone to know. I think it would be better this way, the less people that know about that damn jewel and my past the better. You know what to do right?”

 

Smiling softly at her, “No need to worry Kagome, I will not say a word. If they ask how we know each other than we just tell them the half-truth. We meet back in Japan when we were younger and you took care of me for a little while until we got separated.”

Putting on a stern look, Kagome look accusingly at Shippou. “Secondly, what the hell did you do to your self? You have more holes in you than a sponge!”

 

Shippou pouted slightly, giving her the `I am too cute for you to stay mad at me look' that used to work wonders on everyone. “Aww… come on nee-san, I am not a little kid anymore I could do what ever the fuck I want with my body. Besides, I think they look pretty cool.”

 

Kagome scowled and Shippou's choice of words, “language Shippou, watch your language. I see you picked up some new vocabulary from Inuyasha. That `I am too cute for you to stay mad at me look' does not work any more Shippou. You are all grown up now.” Kagome's expression saddens a bit when mentioning the long deceased hanyou. Opening her mouth to continue with their conversation a loud explosion was heard outside. Both Shippou and Kagome bolted out of their seats and tensed up, switching into defensive mode. Upon opening the door into the hallway, a cloud of dust poured into the room, and sounds of shouting could be heard. Shippou and Kagome made their way towards all the commotion. Within the clouds of dust and debris, Kagome and Shippou could make out four standing figures. As the dust gradually settles, more bodies could be seen lying unconscious on the floor and the four still standing figures came into better view. There standing in the middle of the stone hallway littered with debris was Jean, Scott, Remy and Wolverine.

 

Kagome stood there frozen for a moment confused upon why Logan and Remy was here. She understood that Jean and Scott where probably trying to escape the room they were put in since they are technically `prisoners'. Pointing a finger towards Remy and Logan, she questioned calmly, “What are you doing here? I did not know you were coming along for the mission?”

 

All four of the X-men stood there staring at Kagome in confusion. They glanced suspiciously at the man standing casually next to Kagome as if he was well acquainted with her. Kagome seem familiar with him too, in fact Kagome seem more unease at seeing Logan and Remy here than she is with the man standing next to her. Jean, Scott, Remy and especially Logan all had one thought in mind. `Who is that guy with Kagome?'
