InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The End is Only the Beginning ❯ Meetings ( Chapter 10 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

I have been trying to crank out as many chapters as I can while I am still on my break. Even though I have not been getting as man reviews as I would like, I am still going to be nice and continue to post chapters. Thank to the few reviewer I had for the last chapter. I am having some trouble deciding on where to go from here. What do you guys think? Any suggestions would be nice, maybe it would help spark some inspiration in me. I have actually been watching a lot of Naruto lately and I am tempted to start a Naruto story, but I am not sure I am the discipline to juggle more than one story at a time. What do you think? Should I be bold and start another story? Well once again, I apologize for any grammar and spelling mistakes here, I still do not have a beta. Thank you all for reading my story, now on with the story.

Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha or X-men.

Seeing Kagome standing there alive and well gave Logan some relief. Now at least he knows that she is not harmed. The sense of relief did not linger around for long. Shifting his gaze over to the person next to her made his blood boil with anger. Fixing a hateful glare at the stranger, Logan critically analyzed the tall man. Tall, lean, spiky auburn hair, piercing, overall he would be place in the pretty boy category with a touch of bad boy. It is without a doubt that man had some fighting skills considering the shape they guy was in. Inwardly Logan cursed, `She always has the pretty ones. First there is that silver-haired guy and now this dude'

The sound of Kagome's voice broke is train of thought. “What are you doing here? I did not know you were coming along for the mission?”

Logan's stance loosened a bit, “The Professor was worried when he stopped receiving reports from Jean, so he sent us to find you. Now that it is over, who the fuck is that mutant standing next to you?”

Shippou blinked innocently at the gruffly looking man. “I am Shippou, Leader of the Morlocks.” Turning to face Kagome with a mischievous glint in his eyes, Shippou smirked at his sister. “Jeez Kagome nee-san, you sure know how to pick them, or is it just that brash thick headed assholes just tend to flock to you? Perhaps you seek them out on purpose, have you become some sort of masochist nee-san while I was away?”

Kagome glared at Shippou for his comment before smacking him across the head repeatedly. “Shut up Shippou and watch what you say before I decide subdue you like how I used to do to him. This time I will make sure to use an even more embarrassing word.”

The four X-men only got even more confused by the second while watching Kagome smack the leader of the Morlocks around and threatening him. Logan stood lost in confusion. `Nee-san? Why did the leader of the Morlocks just call Kagome his sister? How do they know each other? Moreover, what the hell did she mean my “subdue”?'

Scott cleared his throat to distract Kagome from continuing to assault the Leader of the Morlocks. The last think he needed a pissed off leader of a group of underground society of mutants against them. “Umm Kagome, would you mind explaining how you are so familiar with the leader of the Morlocks? How come you never informed us that you know him?”

Kagome stopped her attack on the man next to her and turned to face the four obviously confused X-men. With a sheepish look plastered on her face she answered, “I meet Shippou back in Japan many years ago. Shippou here was an orphan so I took him in and took care of him for a while. We were separated when I had to move away. I had no idea that he was the leader of the Morlocks until I met him again here.”

Rubbing his poorly abused skull childishly, Shippou added, “I never expected to meet Kagome nee-san here. Jeez, Kagome do you really have to hit so hard. I can feel the lumps on my head.” Straightening up Shippou spoke a little more seriously. “Well I suggest we relocate to a more suitable area for questions and answers. More guards are arriving right now.” Every one nodded in agreement and it was about time to get to business. “Alright then come this way” Shippou lead the Kagome and her four friends back to the same room he and Kagome met at earlier.

After getting seated and comfortable, Shippou addressed the X-men in a calm diplomatic tone of voice. “Well now, what have brought the might X-men down to my humble abode?”

Jean shifted in her seat slightly while answering Shippou. “There have been attacks on non-mutants as of late around the city. The victim claims they were attacked my mutants. We are just here to investigate the cause behind the attacks and to eliminate it.”

Shippou scowled at the implied accusation, that the Morlocks that are responsible for the attacks. Kagome sensed Shippou tense and anger filled his aura. Placing a comforting hand on Shippou's shoulder, Shippou relaxed a bit. Fixing a cold glare at Jean, Shippou voiced in a calm and diplomatic tone, “If you were suspecting that the attacks were done by my people then you have gravely mistaken. We are a peaceful group, there may be tension towards humans and “normal” looking mutants, but we never attack. The only time we would engage in any type of combat is for self-defense. My people have built a peaceful home down here, and we have no need to interact with the humans above. I can assure you that we have nothing to do with the attacks.”

The sudden coldness from the Leader of the Morlocks warned Jean that she has accidentally offended him, in her suspicions of the Morlocks being the culprit behind the attacks. In attempt to avoid farther offence to the Leader she quickly apologized, “I am sorry I did not mean to offend you or accuse the Morlocks for being responsible behind the attacks. We are merely here to find anything that may lead to the culprits. Would you have heard of any suspicious activity lately that may be relevant to the attacks?”

Shippou gave the question some serious thought for a minute, scrunching up his brows. Suddenly his expressing lighten up in, “Yes I do believe there has been some suspicious activity in the past couple of months. I have had reports from my people that there were strange mutants that have approached them asking them to leave the underground and join another some group that is trying to rebel against the humans. I disregarded the reports as any threat. Rebel groups trying to recruit more mutants are plentiful. Most of my people are just mutants that want a place to belong to do not bother to join in those rebel groups. Most of them get turned down, there have been a few that have their ambitions for power that have left, but they are no longer under my control. Perhaps it is one those rebel groups that have been the cause of the attacks.”

Scott and Jean nodded in understanding. Continuing with the investigation Jean asked, “Do you know of the locations of any of these rebel groups or any information at all?”

Shippou shook his head, “No I rarely keep tabs on any of the rebel groups as long as they do not threaten our home. The only group that has been any sort of threat was a group lead by a man named Magneto, which has been more than a year ago. He and his group have tried to convince some of the more powerful mutants here and me to join their rebel group. I lost a handful of men to his rebel group and his ambitious goals of taking over the humans. He was definitely a very powerful mutant, I wanted to beat the shit out of him, but engaging conflict with mutants of that caliber would have greatly affected my people. Although I have not heard of any activity directly from Magneto, I would not be surprised if he had something to do with it. I always thought he was kind of crazy with is bullshit about mutants taking over the world and shit like that.”

Jean, Scott, Remy and Logan sat shocked and worried at the new information that they were just presented. Scott voiced his concern to the group seriously, “If Magneto has anything to do with the recent attacks, then things maybe be getting messier then we first thought it would. We should report this to the Professor as soon as possible.”

Everyone nodded in agreement and stood to leave. Jean reached out her hand to offer a departing handshake. “Thanks you for this information, but we are going to have to leave and report this to the Professor. If you ever need any help in the future, feel free to come to us. We will do all that we can to aid you.”

As the X-men were getting up to leave, Kagome stopped to hug and kiss Shippou on the forehead. “I have to be going now. Please come by and visit me as soon, I have so many things I want to talk to you about and I miss you so much. Oh and when you drop by you can be reacquainted with an old friend I guess you could call him friend. He has survived the centuries also; perhaps we could all catch up on old times and brush up on our skills.”

Shippou's eyes widen in realization of whom Kagome was referring. “You mean HE is still around? Geez that asshole will never die will he? Ok I guess it would be nice to see the old geezer. Do not worry Kagome I will come and see you as soon as I get things settled down here. Bye Kagome nee-san!”

After the five X-men departed from his chambers, Shippou slumped down into the couch with a smirk across his face. `Heh, so Sesshoumaru is still around huh? Well this could certainly get interesting.'
