Kagome woke with a start, grabbing the closest thing to her, she held on for dear life.

“Oi, Kagome…I know you just woke up and all but can you let go of my hair.” A calm and soothing voice spoke.

Then she saw him…her life line, Inuyasha. She broke down in sobs, mumbling stuff about her nightmares and Shinwa, about how glad she was to see him and that she loved him. He sat on her bed behind her and wrapped his arms around her to comfort her. In his warmth she calmed, listening to his heart beat, his breathing, slow and rhythmic, it calmed her nerves.

A soft knock on the door announced Sango and Miroku's arrival, Sango came over and gave a tight hug to Kagome and Miroku stood and gave a silent prayer in thanks. Sesshomaru watch silently from the doorway before speaking. “I need to talk to my patient and Inuyasha, wait outside,” he spoke in a calm manner.

 

“Inuyasha, it is apparent that Shinwa has regained some conscienceness, and sought the easiest route to us. Kagome, Shinwa is a most powerful Inu-hanyou, even for a female.” She gave him a look as if to say `no shit'. “She is coming after both me and Inuyasha, she has never confronted him nor I. She wishes to make the Halberd of Creation with both of our fangs. Life and Death in one weapon. And she will not stop. Inuyasha and I must return to the shrine that holds her, it looks as if someone or something has disturbed her slumber,” he spoke solemnly.

“Keh, fuck that, let's just destroy her and the shrine so she stops hurting Kagome,” he snorted.

“Inu...yasha?” Kagome whispered.

They both watched her. “She's coming again…HELP ME!!” she screamed.

Miroku burst through the door and threw a ward on Kagome. She screamed as the small but powerful paper hit her in the forehead and then she fainted.

Miroku looked at Inuyasha, “I felt it coming, it was like a bolt of lightening, directed straight at Kagome. I know the ward hurt her, but she is protected from whatever it was…for now.” His tone was apologetic towards Inuyasha. “I would never dream of hurting Kagome, but I had to for her own protection.”

Both brothers nodded quietly in agreement. Inuyasha wrapped his arms around her again. `I can't even protect her from this Shinwa, who ever it is, but I have a gut feeling Sess does.
