Inu-Yasha everyone's favorite dog demon, took his usual roost in his tree. Yes folks it is the one that overlooks Kagome's sleeping quarters. The pack, as Inu's group was called had just returned from a long but successful shard hunt. Intending to come home, with one shard the group brought along an additional three. Finally having a moment's peace, Inu-yasha let his thoughts drift to Kikyou, Kagome and the love triangle he was stuck in. Why me. I loved Kikyou once, but then she betrayed me, by pinning me to the God Tree in the village. Every ounce of trust and love I had for her vanished the day, she pinned my to that godforsaken tree. Kagome, the only person I live for now. She pulled the scared arrow out of my chest and soon I woke from my sleep-induced slumber. When I set eyes one her I was filled with a deep hatred, for she looked like Kikyou, so much I almost killed her. Now all I can do is love her, but what happens when the Shikon jewel is complete? Will she leave me for her time? The boys in her time? Inu-yasha thought a sad look appeared on his face, an even sadder look appeared in his eyes. Kagome watched the hanyou, from a distance not wanting to barge in on his private time, until she really had to. Every once in a while, Inu-Yasha came down with a sudden case of depression, and usually stayed away from the others, but never had she seen it come on so fast. Deciding that there was no harm, in asking she made her way over to Inu-Yasha's tree and called his name.

~ There comes a time, when you face the toughest of fights, searching for a sign, lost in the darkest of nights. The wind blows so cold, I'm standing alone before the battles begun, but deep in your soul, the future unfolds, as bright as the reason for sun.

"Feh… what do you want bitch."

"Inu-yasha stop acting like we don't care about you, this depression has gone on long enough. You're starting to scare me, please snap out of it I don't want to lose you." Kagome said quietly, knowing that his demon ears would pick it up, but the other members of their group were far enough away not to hear.

"What do you mean you don't want to lose me? You never cared. To you I'm the demon who tried to kill you in hopes of getting the Shikon Jewel from you."

" Inu-Yasha stop it. Stop trying to make it sounds as if we don't care about you." Kagome yelled back at the dog-demon

" Feh… like you really care. Most of the time your to busy playing with Shippou or lounging around in your own time."

~ Blazing emotion, there's a light that flows from the heart, it's a chain reaction, and nothing will keep us apart. Stand by my side, there's nothing to hide, together will fight to the end. "That's it! Inu-Yasha SIT!!!" Kagome screamed at the top of her lungs. " For your information dog-boy, you're face is the last thing I see before I go to sleep at night. Whenever we're in battle, I'm always wondering what's going to happen to you, and then when the new moon appears, it scares the crap outta me cause I know that every demon that wants to kill you could. If you're really that dense, to think that no one cares about you, then you can go to hell with that bitch, but if you do, don't think I'm not going to grieve for you cause If you disappear, I have no reason to live." Kagome spat at the hanyou before walking off, silent sobs racking her body.

" I had no idea. I thought she was leaving me alone because she felt that Kikyou had some claim on me. I never thought that she might love me as well. What have I done?" Inu-yasha said to himself as he jumped from tree to tree trying to find the one he loved.

He soon found her collapsed at the base of the bone eater's well. We'll be safer in her time tonight. Inu-Yasha thought as he jumped though the well and reappeared in her family's well house. Quietly as he could, Inu-yasha walked out of the well and jumped up into Kagome's room, for once thankful that her family was gone. After setting her down on the bed and brushing her bangs away from her eyes, Inu-yasha doubled over as a wave of pain crossed him. That time of the month, how could I forget? It was a good thing then that we came back to Kagome's time. Did she really mean everything she said? Inu-yasha thought, before another wave of pain hit him and his transformation was complete. Sitting down beside Kagome Inu-Yasha lightly ran his fingers through her hair, which allowed him to doze off very lightly.
