Chapter 7:

Inu-yasha raced along the treetops, pushing himself to go faster. The survival of 'his' Kagome depended on him. If Kikyou harms one hair on her head, I'll send her to hell myself. Inu-yasha thought as he reached the clearing where Kikyou was holding Kagome captive. Walking up from behind Kagome Inu-yasha addressed Kikyou.

"Let her go Kikyou this, is between us leave her out of it." Inu-yasha growled at his former love. Kikyou looked back at Inu-yasha, hate burning in her eyes

"That is where you are wrong Inu-yasha. This whole thing is her fault and I will not leave her alone. If she had not come to this world, you would still be bound to the God tree. We would have a second chance at love in the next plane, but no she has to repay me, you treat her like your mate." Kikyou growled out at the Hanyou and the Miko in front of her.

"I treat her like my mate Kikyou, because she is. Did you ever think of that?" Inu-yasha stated putting emphasis on the word mate. Kikyou's eyes narrows into small slits, as she understood the hidden meaning in his words. Raising her bow and arrows, Kikyou aimed at Kagome.

"So that is your choice than Inu-yasha. To live with my feeble reincarnation and forget about me?" Kikyou said tears in her eyes. Turning to Kagome she spoke. " I will not let this happen. I shall take you to hell with me and there you shall burn bitch." Kikyou said as she released her arrow. It glowed with an eerie red light that was the color of crimson blood. Reacting quickly, Inu-yasha unsheathed the Tetsusaiga, which he used to bloke Kikyou's' arrow. Lowering the weapon, Inu-yasha spoke to Kikyou in the coldest tone, Kagome had ever heard him use.

"Kikyou, I should have killed you when Keade told me to, but I felt pity for what happened. You will not have that benefit of the doubt this time." Inu-yasha said as he raised the Tetsusaiga again. "Rest In peace Kikyou. You've earned it. Kaze no Kizu." Inu-yasha whispered as she stuck Kikyou's clay body with the Tetsusaiga. Kikyou's body crumbled to dust on impact, and the final part of Kagome's soul that had been stolen, was returned to the young Miko behind him. Inu-yasha watched in awe as the soul returned to Kagome, making her glow slightly. Sheathing the Tetsusaiga, walked up to Kagome, who in response ran into his arms. Breathing in her scent, Inu-yasha allowed himself to slowly relax. Silently, Kagome stayed wrapped up in Inu-yasha's embrace, listing only to his heartbeat, which lulled her into a place of solitude. Softly stroking her hair, Inu-yasha pulled away, so he could look her in the eyes.

"Inu-yasha? What's wrong?" Kagome asked the hanyou, who seemed to be mulling something over in his mind

"Nothing Kagome, I've just been thinking. Remember that one night at your place." Inu-yasha replied smirking at her.

"Umm, not really there have been a lot of nights at my place. Can you refresh my memory?" Kagome asked not liking the looks of the smirk on his face. Smirking even more, Inu-yasha stepped closer, and whispered in her ear.

"The night where Souta caught us. I believe I still have to finish what I started." Inu-yasha said as he claimed her lips in a kiss. Running her hand up his body, Kagome stopped at the based of his left ear. I wonder if he will care? Won't know until I try. Kagome thought to herself as she started to rub the ear in a circler motion that made Inu-yasha growl. Running his tongue over her bottom lip, Inu-yasha asked permission to enter, which Kagome gladly gave. Exploring her mouth, Inu-yasha growled softly when Kagome applied pressure to his ear. Breaking away from the kiss, Inu-yasha gasped for air. Looking into Kagome's eyes. "Are you ready for this?" Inu-yasha asked Kagome, who shook her head. "You are aware that I mate for life right. Once this night is over, your mine forever." Inu-yasha said as he looked at the mark on her neck.

"Inu-yasha I know. I don't care even if you didn't mate for life, but this going to be new for me. I still am a virgin." Kagome said quietly

"And what you thought that I wasn't. Kagome it's not like I've gone sleeping with every pretty woman I saw. That would make me like Miroku. I was waiting for someone special. I didn't know who it was at the time, but I do now. I want to share my world with you Kagome, but you have to promise me something. No Kouga or Hojo k." Inu-yasha said shocked slightly. Kagome nodded and leaned back into his embrace. Taking this as a sign to continue, Inu-yasha leaned forward and nuzzled Kagome's neck, slightly grazing his fangs over the mark on her neck. Kagome gasped slightly as his fangs made contact with the mark. White-hot flames seared from the mark and travel along her neck coming to rest at her shoulders, where Inu-yasha was gripping her. Hearing her gasp, Inu-yasha smiled.

"Inu-yasha, what are you doing?" Kagome asked as he ran a clawed hand down her body, to rest on her waist. "Why are you teasing me like this? If you keep this up, I'm gonna become the dominate one, because I can't take much more of this, you're driving me insane." Kagome said lustfully as she leaned in towards Inu-yasha who closed the distance between them and captured her lips with his. Inu-yasha automatically asked for entrance and Kagome obliged, opening her mouth up to him. Taking the entrance granted Inu-yasha explored her corner of her mouth, before Kagome got bored and started to battle his tongue for dominance. Not wanting to let his mate win, Inu-yasha battled her and then bit lightly on her tongue to tell her who was boss. Sighing in defeat, Kagome broke away from him and looked at his eyes. Amber, with traces of red. Ignoring the red in his eyes, Kagome started to untie his outer jacket, when his hands stopped her.

"Here, let me." Inu-yasha said and with a quick movement was slipping off his outer jacket. Kagome eagerly attacked the ties of his inner kimono, and soon got the other shirt off too. Sliding her hands down his shoulders, she let them rest on his chest, when he suddenly pulled her into him. Looking up at him, Kagome smiled, when she was met with a lustful look." Do you have any idea, of what torment you put me through Kagome?" Inu-yasha asked.

"I think I have an idea, but you might want to show me." Kagome said as she allowed him to undress her. Once Inu-yasha had removed Kagome's last piece of clothing, he allowed her to finish undressing him. Once that chore was done, both now stood in front of each other, with no clothing hiding them. Kagome let her eyes gaze over Inu-yasha's body, as she spoke. "Now I know why I'm hopelessly in love with you Inu-yasha. Your perfect."

"I'm not the perfect one, it's you Kagome. Kikyou didn't stand a chance against you. Your the only one I want." Inu-yasha said as he pulled Kagome closer and they completed the mating ritual.

When Kagome awoke the next morning, she recalled the events that happened the previous night and smiled. I can't believe that I really mated with Inu-yasha last night I've never experience something so beautiful. I have to wonder now, what things are going to change, as a result of what we did last night? Kagome thought as she leaned farther back into her mates embrace. Inu-yasha awoke to Kagome's scent, but it was somehow, different. Sniffing her carefully, Inu-yasha pulled back, when he suddenly realized what the different scents meant. Of course. To complete the mating ritual, the chosen mate has to become pregnant with the male mates pups. What if Kagome doesn't want them? Inu-yasha thought as he nuzzled her hair. Her voice brought him back to the present.

"Well good morning to you to Inu-yasha." Kagome said as she turned and faced her mate, giving him a quick kiss on the lips.

"Morning Kagome, sleep well?" Inu-yasha smirked, but gasped as he got a good looked at her eyes.

"What, what's wrong Inu-yasha?" Kagome asked, when she had heard his soft gasp. Inu-yasha was too stunned to say anything, but look at her eyes. Kagome's once blue eyes now had large flecks of amber in them.

"Kagome, your eyes. They have flecks of amber in them. Open up your mouth." Inu-yasha said as Kagome looked at him with a confused look.

"What?"

"Just open your mouth please." Inu-yasha asked his mate, who did so slowly. Looking inside, Inu-yasha could barley make out the shape of two small Fangs. "Shit. How could I do that?" Inu-yasha scolder himself, as he totally forgot about Kagome. A loud slap was heard and Inu-yasha stared at Kagome while holding his cheek. "What was that for?"

"Why don't you tell me what's going on?" Kagome asked while she rubbed his ear, trying to get his to forget the fact that she had slapped him. Inu-yasha leaned into her hand and closed his eyes before trying to speak.

"Some side effects occurred, because of the mating we did last night." Inu-yasha began

"Okay Like what?" Kagome asked taking her hand away from his ear

"Well for one thing, you're turning into a demon. That's why your eyes have amber in them, and the reason that you have fangs. That will change, by the end of the week. By then, your eyes will be amber like mine, you'll probably have ears and your fangs will be fully grown." Inu-yasha said, expecting to be sat at least a couple of times. Kagome just rolled her eyes and put a hand on her shoulder.

"Inu-yasha stop it okay, I'm not going to S-word you. I was going to ask you sometime, if there was a way to turn me into a demon, but I guess I don't have to ask now. I can tell that you are keeping something else from me too, what is it." Kagome said, as she crawled into Inu-yasha's lap and began to stroke his ears again. Taking a deep breath, Inu-yasha told Kagome the last secret he was keeping from her.

"Kagome you're pregnant!"
