Ina heard her alarm go off. `Saturday…' She thought with a groan. As soon as she crawled out of bed, she got into the shower. Sesshomaru and Ina had set up a meeting place. They would meet there and Sesshomaru would leave his car for the night. Ina would drive them there the next day and she'd follow Sesshomaru.

As soon as Ina turned off the water, she heard the doorbell. She dressed quickly in clean pajamas as her mother shouted, “Ina! The door's for you!” Of course, Ina was slightly skeptical. `Me? God, who is it?' She sighed as she walked out of the bathroom, drying the droplets of water still on her glasses.

The two people waiting were sitting on the couch. One was a woman and one was a man. Bara, the woman, had a package and Katsuro, the man, was holding her in his lap. Bara, apparently, didn't mind. Ina stepped in. “I am Inuyami Ina. What do you need?”

“I am Dai Bara. This is my husband, Dai Katsuro. You left a book in my brother's room yesterday.”
“Oh…I did?” Ina asked. `Well…This is embarrassing…' Bara handed the package to Ina with a gentle smile. “Katsuro and I have to run errands. He doesn't let me go anywhere on my own anymore.”
“That's because you are pregnant, love.” At about this time, Ina noticed Bara's roundness in the stomach. She bowed respectfully. “Congratulations.”
“Thank you…” Bara nodded with a smile. Katsuro helped her up and lead her outside with a polite nod to everyone. Ina sighed, still embarrassed at her forgetfulness.

Ina looked at the clock, realizing that she had an hour before she had to pick up Sesshomaru. She grinned at her mother. “I'll cook when I get back. I'm going to go shopping.”
“Alright,” Sakura said quietly. She knew that Ina was going to go all-out with the dinner. She also knew that Ina was annoyed at having to do this.

Ina groaned as she saw Sesshomaru's car pull into the parking lot. She saw that there were three people with him and blinked. `Good thing I bought a lot…' She thought as they all got out of their car. Ina got out of hers and walked over. Toga, Inuyasha, Sesshomaru, and Izayoi were all watching her walk over.

Sesshomaru said in quiet annoyance, “They wished to meet you and your parents today and refused to stay home.”
“That's alright. There's enough food and rooms for everyone.”
“Hn.”
“Not this again…”
“Hn.”

Inuyasha suddenly cut in. “Maybe you should have sat with me.”
“Stay out of this, Half-Breed.”
“Make me!”
“Guys, cut it out. You're going to scare my little brother.”
“Hn.” Sesshomaru's guttural sound.
“Feh.” Inuyasha's annoyed sound.
“Ugh.” Ina's aggravated sound.

Ina opened the door for Izayoi and Toga, who got in. Inuyasha got in on the other side, sitting next to Toga. Sesshomaru got into the passenger seat. Ina got into the driver's seat and noticed that Inuyasha was playing with all sorts of random buttons. She pressed a button, which put a steel covering on the buttons.

“Your brother's a nuisance sometimes…” Sesshomaru glared. “What?”
Half-Brother.”
“Well, excuse me, he who has a bug up his ass.” Of course, Sesshomaru glared at this comment. Ina pulled out of the parking lot and straight into traffic. “…” Izayoi's most wonderful comment.
“Hn.” Sesshomaru's normal.
“Feh.” Inuyasha's normal.
“Erg.” Ina's aggravated normal.
“…” Toga's most talkative comment.

“That's it, I need music.” Ina turned on the radio. She heard one of her songs playing. She sang with it, matching the tones perfectly. “No one sits with him—he doesn't fit in. But we feel like we do when we make fun of him. `Cause you want to belong, do you go along `cause his pain is the price paid for you to belong? It's not like you hate him or want him to die, but maybe he goes home and thinks `suicide'. Or he comes back to school with a gun at his side and the kindness from you might have saved his life.”

Everyone looked at Ina as she sang this. “Heroes are made when you make a choice. You could be a hero, heroes do what's right. You could be a hero, you might save a life. You could be a hero, you could join the fight for what's right, for what's right.” Sesshomaru settled back. He knew it would be a while and her singing was calming enough for him to think.

“No one talks to her—she feels so alone. She's in too much pain to survive on her own. The hurt she can't handle overflows to a knife. She writes on her arm—wants to give up her life. Each day she goes on is a day that she's brave. Fighting the lie that giving up is the way. Each moment of courage her own life she saves; when she throws the pills out, a hero is made.”

Inuyasha and Toga were staring at Ina while Izayoi stared out the window. They could all tell she was telling about someone. “Heroes are made when you make a choice. You could be a hero, heroes do what's right. You could be a hero, you might save a life. You could be a hero, you could join the fight for what's right, for what's right.” The traffic started to move.

“No one talks to him about how he lives. He thinks that the choices he makes are just his—doesn't know he's a leader with the way he behaves…And others will follow the choices he's made. He lives on the edge; he's old enough to decide. His brother who wants to be him is just nine. He can do what he wants-because it's his right-but choices he makes change a nine-year-old's life.

“Heroes are made when you make a choice. You could be a hero, heroes do what's right. You could be a hero, you might save a life. You could be a hero, you could join the fight for what's right, for what's right.” As they all listened to the song, Ina drove calmly. It got to the saddest part of the song. Ina could hardly stand this part, which is why her band member always sang it. But now, she had to tell his story.

“Little Mikey D was the one in class who every day got brutally harassed. This went on for years until he decided that never again would he shed another tear. So he walked through the door, grabbed the four four out of his father's dresser drawer, said `I can't take life no more' and like that, a life can be lost.

“But this ain't even about that! All of us just sat back and watched it happen! Thinking, `it's not my responsibility to solve a problem that's not about me.' This is our problem! This is just one of the daily scenarios in which we choose to close our eyes instead of doing the right thing.

“If we make a choice to be the voice for those who won't speak up for themselves, how many lives will be saved, changed and rearranged? Now it's our time to pick a side! Don't keep walking by, not wanting to intervene `cause you just want to exist and never be seen. So let's wake up, change the world! Our time is now!”

Ina couldn't sing the chorus. She pulled into the driveway, not realizing she was being stared at. She brought in the groceries, Haru rushing to help her. Sakura, just now setting the table, added more places. Izayoi moved to try and help her as Ina went straight to the kitchen and started to cook.

As soon as the table was set, Sakura lead everyone to the living room pleasantly. Toga and Izayoi sat together on the love seat. Sakura sat in an armchair, Haru hopping on her lap immediately. Sesshomaru leaned on the wall and Inuyasha sat on the floor.

“So…Where are you all going to go on winter vacation?”
“Nagasaki. We have a house there and we have made a trip there every year.”
“We have a house there too…We were planning on going as well. Next Saturday, I plan on going to the Yanburu Nature Facility with Ina and Haru.”
“We were planning on going too! Do you want to carpool?”
“Oh, sure.” Sakura found herself smiling. At least, until the next question popped up. “Are we going to meet Ina's father?”

Sakura went silent, as did Haru. Finally, Sakura managed to reply, “He does not live with us. He left shortly after Haru was born.”
“Oh…I'm sorry,” Izayoi informed, ashamed that she had even asked.

Sakura heard Ina start to put the food on the table. Ina had heard the entire conversation and was silent. She sat down at the head of the table. Toga sat at the other end. Sakura sat on Ina's right, Haru on her left. Sesshomaru sat on Toga's left, Izayoi on his right, and Inuyasha next to Izayoi and Sakura.

Everyone ate quietly, the occasional conversation drifting up. Sakura suddenly realized, “Oh dear…We're one room short. If Inuyasha and Sesshomaru shared rooms…”
“NO!” They shouted at the same time.
“Well, then Inuyasha could sleep in Ina's room…” Noticing Ina's nervous fidget at that comment, she changed it. “Or Sesshomaru could.”

Seeing no objections other than from Inuyasha, she knew the matter was settled. Ina excused herself from the table and went up to her room. Haru ran up for bed soon after as well. Toga commented, “Ina is very mature for her age.”
“Yes…When Ina was 7, her father left. For the next year, I had been an emotional wreck. She had to grow up within a week. If she hadn't, we would be on the streets or dead. She took care of her baby brother when I couldn't, she took over my job, and she went to school online. She is so smart…”

Sesshomaru listened with interest. He realized that she had seen a horrible past, and she had lost her childhood. Suddenly, Sakura commented, “Sesshomaru's very mature as well.”
“Yes. He's the heir to his mother's business, so he learned fast,” Toga explained. Sesshomaru rose. “I will excuse myself, if you please.”

“Here, let me get you a blanket. Knowing Ina, she's probably collapsed on her bed by now,” Sakura suggested. Sesshomaru nodded as Sakura grabbed a comforter and a blanket from a closet. She crept up the stairs with Sesshomaru following. Ina was singing quietly. “…I look back…And felt that I should start walking…No matter where I travel…I will not lose myself!”

Sesshomaru listened. There was an aggravated sigh then a thud as Ina fell out of her bed. Sesshomaru opened the door to see Ina ready to rip her hair out. She looked up at Sesshomaru and Sakura and crawled back into her bed. Sakura set down the comforter and then the blanket so that the comforter was like a cushion. She also put a pillow down. Sesshomaru nodded in thanks and sat on Ina's bed, right beside her binder.

As soon as Sakura left, Sesshomaru grabbed the binder. He studied what she had of the song and started writing. Ina blinked and watched. He repeated on phrase and then wrote the ending music for the song. “You are good…” Ina commented after he was finished. Sesshomaru nodded. He handed Ina her binder back. Ina opened her laptop and turned on the microphone. She already had the music programmed in. She sang the song along with the music.

“Imprisoned alone in the darkness, I came to know the meaning of your tears. I headed out towards the place I want to be, but I don't want to hurt anyone.

“Today, yet again, the winds the sea brings are heading towards tomorrow with fascination. Why does my heart refuse to awaken?”

“What kind of fate is awaiting me? I don't have any regrets about being born. There is courage within this dysphoria. I believe I can hold onto this radiance. The tears of the blue sky start to pour down. Someday it will form a smile…”

Sesshomaru listened to it. He noted how her body moved with the flow of the song. It wasn't like those singers who sang the words. No. She meant the words she sang. “…The wind that is chasing at a fast pace is slipping through the gaps between my fingers. The truth still scares me, but I don't intend to give up.”

“The moon gently massages my shoulders, reflecting a yellow path on the water surface. If only the perplexing things could be forgotten during my journey…” Ina smiled slightly as she sang the change in words perfectly. “…An unknown future is awaiting. No matter what comes forth, a helping hand is there. The decided path will change; Strong feelings are filling up my heart. The tears of the blue sky are starting to overflow. Tomorrow, the weather will definitely clear up.

Ina's tone took on a sad quality. “I look back, and felt that I should start walking. No matter where I travel, I will not lose myself!” Ina sang the phrase that Sesshomaru had repeated on the song. “What kind of fate is awaiting me? I don't have any regrets about being born. There is courage within this dysphoria. I believe I can hold onto this radiance. The tears of the blue sky start to pour down. Someday it will form a smile.”

Ina shut down everything and put her laptop beneath her pillow as Sesshomaru went to his designated resting place. Ina locked her binder in the drawer of her desk. She crawled under the blanket on her bed and was out as soon as her head hit the pillow.

“So, Ina, what do you do for fun?” Toga asked, hoping for a conversation starter on the way back to his household.
“I play with my band, write songs, and make the songs on my computer…”
“Can we listen to some of them?” Toga was interested. Of course, it was only him, Ina, and Haru in the car.

Ina sighed slightly. She took out her laptop and handed it to Haru, who hooked it up to the car. He pressed play and Ina's newest song that she had sang the previous night, “Tears of the Blue Sky”, was played on the speakers. It also played “Hero”, “Witch Doctor”, and “Last Resort”.

Suddenly, “True Light” played. Ina sang along with it. “Darkness of white you can, through the darkness take your flight, and become the wings that pierce the veil, spreading strong and true tonight.

“Brought into the light at last by the cold exposing sun. I was granted freedom tamed to become the chosen one. Through the mirror, night reflected, miraculous to see. My soul threw away the mask that hides the deeper me.

“Breaking the dark of night, piercing through the painted white. Cut it all away from yesterday `till a new era's in sight.

“Unlock the heart within. Let it spread its wings and soar. Rising up in flight, through the night of white, and fly on forevermore!” Ina grinned. Toga was amazed at the talent in her at such a young age. Most of the female singers that were any good were in their 30's.

Ina pulled into the driveway. Haru unhooked her laptop and shut it off. He put it in its case and handed it to Ina after she turned off the car. As soon as Ina got out of her car, she was overwhelmed by the beauty of the mansion in front of her. She didn't falter as she entered. Haru hopped about, looking every which way at everything.

Ina sat in the living room, going onto her program and fiddling with the music. She figured out a good set of music and let the words flow from her mind with it. She had no idea that everyone was in the hallway right behind her. “Like an angel without a sense of mercy, rise, young boy, to the heavens as a legend.

“Cold winds, as blue as the sea, tear open the door to your heart. But unknowing you seem, staring at me, standing there smiling serenely. Desperate for something to touch, a moment of kindness like that in a dream. Your innocent eyes as yet have no idea of the path your destiny will follow.

“The cruel angel's thesis bleeds through a portal like your pulsing blood. If you should betray the chapel of your memories, the cruel angel will enter the window of your soul. So, boy, stand tall and embrace the fire of legend. Embrace the universe like a blazing star!”

Everyone was shocked that her songs could just come out like that. Sesshomaru had a sudden memory. He didn't know what it was from, but it was strange either way.

~Flashback~

Ina held up her sword to Sesshomaru. “I'll kill you for harming my friend.”
“I'd like to see you try.” His amber gaze regarded her in a bored manner. Ina suddenly disappeared. Sesshomaru tried to scent her out. Kurobara was still limp against the tree, unconscious. Ina appeared behind Sesshomaru and she started cutting on his legs. Rin, seeing this, hopped off of Ah-Un and got in front of Sesshomaru. Ina stilled her sword the second that it would have hit Rin. She was a millimeter from killing the young human.

Ina adjusted her glasses and sheathed her sword. “You'd best thank the human. Without her, well, heheheh…” Ina trailed off and stalked to Kurobara, pulling her up and supporting her. A cloud of black youki pooled around her feet as she took to the sky.

~End Flashback~

`What…Was that…?' Sesshomaru asked himself. Ina shut off her computer. She looked over her shoulder at them and smiled. “Dinner already?”
“Hai!” Haru piped up. He bounced to the dining room.

~*~

Ina flopped onto her bed and barely managed to put her glasses in the holder before she fell asleep. It was a difficult night. She'd have to email several songs and such to her band. She was going to sleep up for the second week of school.
