Their God Awakes

Slowly she woke for her deep slumber. Eye's eager to see the world she'd entrusted to her Lesser Gods'. Her last little trick had cost her a millennia of sleep and to her surprise she was 270 year early but buzzed with magic full of mischief. Her eyes slowly opened. They shimmered with the secrets of the universe that only a few Elder Gods even bothered to remember. Her absorbed the years passed; that had forced her into this deep slumber.

(Memories)

She was a Goddess one of the oldest beings to still exist. There had originally been 13, but one had simply disappeared when six of the Gods stated asking the question many still ask today. “Where did we come from and how did I get here?” Of these six, five returned to forbid anyone from exploring these questions ever again.

But they had already unleashed something evil upon this universe. This evil created life to take life. It was horrible. That's how the Gods became split five decided to join the anomaly known as Onigumo. Then six dedicated themselves to stopping this dark God and his new lackeys. But one God had refused both sides and fled to unexplored territory.

This was how I found this little planet on the edge of the universe and watched over it. It had taken many years of evolution, but finally it had evolved into a time known as the “The Feudal Era”. She had been proud that her planet had evolved into such interesting place with its many creatures.

But sadly that's where her little world came into its first bit of trouble. She had let Lesser Gods inside her little world. The Lesser Gods held control over specific abilities such as; wind, water, fire, earth, space, etc. What surprised her was how quickly the creatures on her planet took to the Lesser Gods. They praised them as if they were ones that had created them and watched over them for millions of yeas, but she hadn't minded she hadn't mined at all.

That was until wars started breaking out among the “human”. That's what she had decided to call them “Humans”. Their wars had been bloody and disgusted her to no end.

And soon it drew the attention of a dark god that reveled in misery. He called himself Onigumo. We had a series of nasty battles. He was strong and seemed to get stronger with each fight. It worried me because it seemed my humans were being plagued by misfortune. That's when I noticed a new species on the planet. They had scared me; truly scared me. They were brutal, murderers, and kill each other for power. Human and animals were losing their lives to these demons. Yes demons had described them perfectly. They didn't care who they killed and there was nothing I could do. I wasn't allowed to alter human lives. It went against everything the gods of light stood for, and the laws the 13 bound ourselves by. It pained me to watch so many deaths; even the lesser gods were in turmoil.

I started to let myself believe things were getting better. After a few months the humans started to adapt and fight back but they were fighting a losing battle. Somehow they managed to hold their ground they started to pray for power so that what I gave them power and it work very well because I felt stronger every time one of the demons were destroyed. I battled with Onigumo again this time I was the stronger not his equal. He fled and disappeared.

But when he disappeared he also left his monstrous creations and they started acting of their free will. But Onigumo left one last surprise in the form of a true monster. The abomination went by the name Naraku. He was the most powerful thing on the plant and I couldn't figure how Onigumo accomplished such a feat. That kind of interference was not allowed. The wars had escalated to the point of utter chaos. They were praying for a savior. Someone that could end their wars, and I was looking for a loophole in the rules. It wasn't much of a loophole that I found but it was enough to help. And so I created him from a union that many frowned upon. A demon lord and a human that had drawn her power from me, I had no problem with the union. It amazed me that they could risk so much to be together. I was happy that demons were given free choice just like every other living thing that was something Gods could not interfere with. So the union proceeded and from that union a child. Sadly the child wouldn't get to see his parent for long. I wasn't allowed to mess with their destiny, but I can answer prayers. And so I gave them their dying wish that he survive no matter what. So I blessed the child with all the power and love that I held and marveled at the out come. But as I did I saw into his future and knew he would go through more trials than anyone one should be subjected to. I left him to grow knowing that when I awoke It would be time to reawaken him from his tragic fate. And so that time has come.

Now fully awake she looked down upon her world.

“Now lets see what fate has in store for you Inuyasha.” She let her mind scan the surface of the planet taking in 800 year of ever changing events.

“You have awaken!” the Fire God announced.

“Yes it would seem so would it not? You Lesser Gods have been busy. You've have aided humans too much, thus making them weak.”

“We helped them to survive! After the fall of that abomination you insisted on granting such power the humans lost faith. Defeated by the weaker sex. How pathetic! No I believe it was you who made them weak. And why you insist upon wearing the form a woman…”

“It seems some of us have forgotten our place along with our manors.” She eyed the Fire God.

“My apologies. I let my emotions get the better of me.”

“Go fetch the others.” A smile reached her lips. `Its about time I finished what I started those many years ago.'

The Fire God faded from the room.

`I think I'll start without the others.'

“Now my poor boy where are you?' Her mind swept the surface once again. Passing over the waist lands that Naraku commanded and the human made fortresses. Looks like they'll rot away inside their little bubbles unless Naraku kills them first.

Her eyes roamed the surface looking for the abnormality that was hers'. Unlike the other forests that were surrounded by life and happiness or dying from wild demons: This forest was surrounded by a massive amount of emotional energies.

`Such sad magic. Kikyo truly regretted what she'd done in the end. But! What Kikyo did was her own will and I helped to the best of my abilities.'

“Ah! HA!!” I've found you Inuyasha. She flinched as she got a good look at the young man. His face held sorrows that didn't match his youth. He was handsome and for a boy that was near one million year of age but his body and mind were that of a sixteen year old boy. She felt like crying while remembering the private conversations with the boy. Their conversations had always been one sided considering she was a god and he was a mortal and couldn't make direct contact with him for fear of altering his destiny. He would tell her stories and things he wanted in life. She already knew most of the things he told her but liked to hear him talk to her it always made her smile.

“Inuyasha you are one of the few things I love about this world and look what I let happen to you.” She let a single tear fall from her eye. “I will not fail you this time. But first you need your savior.”

`Someone to perfect your heart but where is she…'

Midoriko they have all arrived.”

Her eyes came back into focus and there stood the Lesser Gods. Some stood rather tall while other didn't truly wish to be bothered.

“I haven't the time to argue but neither do I have the time to tell you how displeased I am…”

“Displeased! You have nothing to be displeased about. We weren't the ones who let a abomination hold the hope of the world!” yelled the God of Thunder

“Are you finished?” Midoriko asked in a emotionless voice.

The God of Thunder just stared ahead but nodded that he was finished.

“I will not be interrupted again.” Her voice held no room for argument.” Now each of you will find a fourteen to sixteen-year-old girl. She must have a caring heart, but not weak minded she's not to be a fool, and she'll be loyal to everyone around her. Now go. You have one day. Do not fail.”
