Finding A Savior
It had been a full day and those foolish Lesser Gods still hadn't returned. `I'm becoming very impatient. Were the hell are they!' Midoriko sighed as she noticed that she'd only been waiting a grand total of three minutes for their return, after her insane dead line. `These Lesser's are really starting to rub off on me. I've never been quite this impatient in my life.' She watched as the time passed by. A smile passed bye her lips moments later. `Finally! Now lets see what you've brought me.'
All of the Gods appeared one after another. “You're late, but it doesn't matter show me what you've found.”
The Fire God was first to walk forward obviously trying to prove himself as the strongest of the Lesser Gods. He seemed pleased at his find. “My lady her name is `Sango' she's a strong woman…”
“Just show me the woman Fire God I will decide for myself if she's worthy of the task ahead.” With that simple statement she efficiently put out the Fire God's flames of pride.
“As you wish.” He was clearly not happy about being told to shut up in any form or manor. With a flick of his wrist an image of a beautiful girl appeared in front of her. The girl was slim and tall, her body was well toned, and she had hard but caring eyes. Midoriko felt a rush of excitement. `Could it be this easy? There is something about this girl that will be important in future events. But could she be the girl I seek?' She placed her hand on top the girl forehead. “She's not the one.”
“What do you mean she's not the one. She's exactly wh…”
“Fire God I wish you would learn to hold your tongue. Keep and eye on this Sango.” `She's connected in this somehow, but I'm not sure where the connection lays.' “Is that under stood?”
“Of course Lady Midoriko.” His flames of pride had returned with even more wood to fuel it.
“Next.” It went on like this for half an hour. It seemed most Gods hadn't taken what she said to heart. All the women were beautiful but always lacked what she'd asked for.
Finally she came to the last three of the Lesser Gods. She sighed but there was still hope Water, Earth, and Forest were the last of her Gods before she went searching for herself. The Earth God was the same as Fire God so she decided to save him for last.
“Water Goddess show me your female.”
“I'm sorry Lady Midoriko I could not find one that matched your descriptions.”
Midoriko sighed ` At least she hasn't wasted my time.' “But”…this cut through her negative thoughts.
“I believe I know of one now. And she has a strong connection to this Sango girl.”
Midoriko gave the Water Goddess her full attention, and nodded for her to go on.
The Water Goddess snapped her fingers. Two young girls could be seen holding each other's hand while moving quickly through the dark.
“As you can see, the girl on the right is the one previously presented by the Fire God. The one to the right is named Kagome.”
Midoriko smiled. “This is just too perfect. Where are they now?”
“They are currently crossing through a forest but strange magic's prevent them from truly exiting the area. I have…”
“They are within the magical barrier Kikyo laid upon Inuyasha before her death.”
There were a series of gasps, And a few quick mummers.
“Quiet! I must see if this, Kagome, is worthy of the task I want to set before her.” Her hand reached for the image and gently pressed against the girl's forehead. A small gasp left Midoriko as she pulled her hand way from Kagome's head only to bump it against Sango getting a look into both girls' futures. Her eyes widened in shock as she contemplated what she'd seen.
“Kagome was her name. Was it not?” Midoriko questioned
“Yes. That's correct Lady Midoriko.”
“This girl has no set future.”… `Is that even possible?' “She is the one that will guide Inuyasha.”
“Inuyasha! But do you not reme…”
“I am well aware of what happened in the past.” `Much more aware than any of you will ever be.' “But things had to happen this way.”
“That girl will be his down fall.” The Fire God stated calmly. “I rather not have one of my blessed children be involved in such twisted and shameful matters.”
These words finally pushed the calm and well-reserved Midoriko over the edge. She stood up walking slowly toward the God of Fire. She stopped a mere 5 inches from him. He stood a good four to five inches taller than her.
“I've had enough of you Fire God.” She lifted her hand. The flash of light afterwards was like a star going super nova. When the light diminished a giant Saber Tooth Tiger stood in his place. “Well mighty Fire God I must say I like you much better this way.”
She even let out a very un-god like giggle. She turned to back to face the rest of her Lessers. “I will only remind you once more these are my children. Don't let it slip you minds again.” There was an eerie quiet in room. “Now what to do with the big kitty.” There were a few nervous laughs around the room. They had never seen her use any real power and from what they just witnessed, they never wanted to.
“I've got it.” Her tone said she'd just come up with the most brilliant idea. “Since you seem so attached to this Sango girl you shall aid her.” And with that the fire God was instantly removed from their plane.
`Now to more pressing problems.' “You all may leave.”
They all left except one. “What is it Water Goddess you've done superbly and I thank you but I have more pressing problems.”
“I just wanted you to know that this girl truly has a loving heart.”
Midoriko couldn't help but smile. `I know or else she would be given the power I'm about to grant her.' “I'll keep that in mind.”
The Water Goddess left directly after. “So Kagome I believe it would be good to give you a private meeting with dear Inuyasha. Now how to go about it?”

OK so it's taken me a lot longer to type this than I thought, but I would me more motivated if I got a review every “Blue Moon”. Well I'll try to keep the chapters to one a week. I've just started this Story called “Lift Off” it promises to be just a good as this one. The real action for this story starts in 2 chapters
