The Fallen Angel

 

 

 

 

Sango woke up feeling like she'd been through a day of intensive training. She took a deep breath as she watched the morning sky.

 

“Morrr—ning already?” Yawned a half-awake Sango.

 

Sango shifted her weight trying to get comfortable against the tree she'd been resting upon. Her eyes wondered down to the Dominic two tail curled against her stomach. She groaned as she remembered yesterday's previous activities. She sent a death glare at the cat in her lap. She sighed when the cat gave a gentle meow and started purring against her stomach. She hated the fact that she couldn't stop the smile that had spread across her face. She gave upon her anger and relaxed a little to think.

 

`I hope Kagome is doing better than I am.' She took a minute to imagine Kagome on her own. She grimaced as she saw a determined but clue less girl stumbling around in circles, lost and looking awfully beat up. She winced as the tight muscles in her legs stretched as she forced herself to stand.

 

“All right Kagome here I come.”

 

Sango blinked in confusion. She had picked up the demonic cat like it was second nature. Shaking her head in disbelief she continued on her way.

Sango sighed nearly half an hour later when the sun finally made it appearance over the top of the trees. This was pointless. Looking for Kagome when there was no sure way of knowing which way she went. There had to be a way of finding her. Maybe she could spot her from higher up?

 

(5 minutes later)

 

“Me and my great ideas!” The sarcasm was so thick you could of cut it with a knife. She was half way up a rather large tree and covered in small cuts and bruises.

 

“I swear this tree is trying to kill me.” She pushed herself up onto the next branch and gave an irritated sigh. After a minute of rest she turned ready to climb again. She froze midway through her turn to see the feline companion sitting on the branch above her giving her a curious stare.

 

`Stupid cat.' She thought bitterly as she continued on with her climb.

 

After many more cuts and even more death glares at her feline companion she'd finally reached her destination. (The top of the tree.)

 

“Perfect.” She had a good view of her surroundings. She took a deep breath ready to call her friend's name, halfway through she remembered they were being pursued by a bunch of ruthless killers and let out the deep breath.

 

“Damn I'll never find her this forest is enormous not without giving myself away too.” She sat still just observing the surrounding area.

 

`Maybe Kagome will have the same idea. We might be able to spot each other.'

 

(5 min)

 

Sango spun around looking off into the forest. `I could have sworn I heard something.'

 

She had just started watching the area intently when something came shooting up from the treetops. She gasped. It was a person with…

 

`There's no way.' But her eyes refused to see any thing else. A humanoid demon with wings had just popped up from the treetops. `There are only two demons that have wings, and those demons look like wild beast.'… “T-T-This is impossible.” Sango was pulled away from her thoughts seconds later by a scream.

 

“KAGOME !!”… `and it came from the same direction as the unidentified demon.' She was already moving down the tree. `Hopefully I'll get there in time.'

“Darn it! Where did he go?” She was panting slightly. `God! I wish I had my bike.'

 

She stood there looking at her surroundings. “I hope I didn't pass him.” She said while chewing on her bottom lip.

 

“AHHHHHH!!!! Just…AHHH!” She stomped her foot. “INUYASHA! YOU IDIOT!!!” Kagome listened as her voice echoed throughout the forest. As she listened to her echo fade away an idea popped into her head. He was close, she knew that much from the way her hand was feeling. The closer she got the better her hand felt, but for the last five minutes she hadn't felt anything. `But if he's awake and close by then that means...' A small smile spread across her face.

 

She inhaled deeply and…

 

“INUYASHA I ORDER YOU TO YELL MY NAME UNTILL I FIND YOU!”

 

Kagome smiled when she heard her name almost immediately after her echo faded away. She smirked as she walked off to find him.

 

Minutes later she climbed over a log only to see the all mighty Inuyasha face down in the ground.

She couldn't help but giggle at his predicament. The ground around here was kind of soft and she could tell that he was going to leave a body imprint on the ground.

 

A sudden image of Wile E. Coyote hitting the ground sent her into a fit of hysterical laughter.

 

Inuyasha lay there seething. `Bitch! That little, filthy, sneaky, underhanded, BITCH! I can't move a single muscle and she's laughing at me?

 

After she calmed down she noticed that Inuyasha was still hadn't moved from his comical position. `Oh my God what if he's hurt!' A wave of guilt and fear washed over her as she rushed to his side.

 

“Inuyasha?” He didn't answer.

 

“Inuyasha are… are you OK??” She moved to the opposite side of his body looking directly into his eyes. Kagome shivered as she watched his emotion play across his face. He was angry, very angry, and for some reason Kagome got the sense that he somehow blamed her for this. But she let it go and decided to see where he was injured.

 

“OK where are you hurt?”

 

He was still seething. Nothing made sense? He wanted to yell at the girl who seemed to have placed a spell on him. He wanted to maker her understand who he was. The only problem was he did know himself. All he could remember was his child hood and only to a certain point. Every time he tried to think of a more recent memory they came in blurs, a beautiful clearing, a fight, a voice ordering him to protect himself, a pain in his stomach, then darkness complete and utter darkness. The darkness always melted away and he was assaulted by the sweet smell of vanilla and everything after that was clear. He woke up in that girl's lap and so on.

 

 

“Inuyasha??? Inuyasha?? Earth to Inuyasha come in Inuyasha!” Kagome had been waving her had infront of his face for a while now with no results, and was starting to wonder if he had brain damage.

 

“What?!” He snapped at her.

 

“What's you problem!?” She yelled back at him. “I just wanted to know if you were hurt?”

 

Inuyasha watched in awe as the girl's eyes became thick with unshed tears. `Why? Is she crying? Oh no I didn't make her cry did I? Oh shit!' Guilt hit him full force and the memories he'd just looked through made it worse. `I'm doing the same thing others did to me, but this is my revenge isn't it? Make everyone feel like I've felt, worthless, weak, nonexistent, that's my reason for living. Right? Shouldn't I feel happy? Why was she here any ways? Oh yea she wanted to know if I'm hurt. I snapped at her, but she has this stupid spell on me! It's fair!`

 

Kagome sat there refusing to cry infront of him. `Why was he being such a jerk?'

 

“Listen girl. You take your spell off me and I'll leave and never bother you again. We'll call it even.“ He was being generous in his mind it was only fair.

 

Kagome looked at him mouth slightly open. `He thinks I put the spell on him?'

 

“Hey girl what are you waiting on just take the spell off me and I promise I wont kill you.” Inuyasha's promise broke Kagome's train of thought.

 

“K-k-k Kill ME?!” Her eyes were as wide as saucers.

 

`Shit!' He'd scared the girl. `Me and my big mouth!'… “Look I'm not going to hurt you, as long as you hurry up and take this damn spell off of me.” He was trying to reason with the girl but is patience was already wearing thin

 

“B-But I… I can't.”

 

“What do you mean you can't?” He snapped angrily and watched the girl flinch.

 

`I won't be intimidated. I won't be intimidated.' She chanted mentally. She was failing so far and she knew it. `Time to gain back some ground girl!'… “I mean exactly that, I can't.”

 

“And why not!?” He yelled back. The girl had obviously found some backbone because she was giving him attitude.

 

“Because you idiot I don't have any powers!” She knew she was pushing it, but he was laying on the ground obviously hurt because he hadn't moved a muscle besides his mouth the whole time. Plus he looked kind of silly yelling at her like that.

 

 

`What?! No powers?' Wait!' … “Then how the hell did you cast the damn spell.” He smirked. Believing he'd caught her in a lie.

 

“ I didn't!” She yelled at the top of her lungs! She was breathing kind of heavily. “I don't have any powers and never have. I found you frozen in a cave after being chased by a bunch of lunatics into this creepy forest, and nearly getting killed by falling trees! Then I got separated from my best friend only to find you. Then I nearly get killed by one of the loonies that chased me in here, but you saved me, nearly getting yourself killed in the process. Only once you saved me you decided to kill me! Then made me promise not to leave you, but you go and running off five seconds after waking up.” Tears were freely winding their way down her cheeks. “You're such a JERK!”

 

Inuyasha watched her the whole time unable to say anything. 'She's crazy. I never tried to kill her. Did I?' He thought back, concentrating on the fight. All he got were a bunch of fuzzy images, a guy with claws, claws in his stomach, slowly dying, then, power unbelievable power. It was dark but he was safe, the darkness was going to protect him from everything all he had to do was let it in.

 

(BLURY FLASH BACK)

 

Suikotsu seemed to have lost all his will to fight and hung limply in Inuyasha's grasp”……promised me………………………death̷ 0;………………………yet… …. … lied to me. I don't …. liars.” He slowly increased the pressure on Suikotsu's neck. “I… judged you. Your …. .. mine.”

 

A body was held limply in hand with a crooked neck.

 

(End of flash)

 

`I don't remember doing all that.' He gasped as he remembered more.

 

 

 

(Choppy Flash Back)

 

“Stand ...” He'd stopped directly in front of her, eyes never leaving hers.

 

He knelt down and gently griped her chin bringing her face within and inch of his.

 

“I s…. judge you.”

 

Kagome's whole body stiffened.

 

“No…”

 

“No?…. Have …. … wrong?” He asked in a hollow voice.

 

“…. there's nothi… .. fear.”

 

He gently placed his forehead against hers.

 

Lots of smiles and laughter and bright white light flashed in his memory

 

“You're pure.” He said it like she'd done something wrong. “Well that doesn't matter. I'll just modify your soul. I'll never be alone again and you shall stay by my side forever.

 

“Inuyasha don't … “

 

“It wont be painful, I promise… and I never break my promises.”

 

“N-no… Wake up, Inuyasha Please!” Kagome was staring into his eyes the entire time.

 

“You're not going to leave me. No one's ever leaving me again!” His grip on her chin tightened.

 

“I wont leave! Please Inuyasha!… I promise!!!!!!!!!!!!-”.

 

(End of Flash)

 

 

`That voice sounded just like mine, but colder. Did I really do all that?' He looked up only to see Kagome with her face buried in her knees sobbing quietly. `There's no way I did that. B-but I did. Those were my hands, my voice. I could have been a false memory that she placed in my mind.' He desperately tried to convince himself but was failing miserably. He looked at the crying girl before closing his eyes.

 

“I'm S-sorry.” He'd said it plain, simple, and very clear.

 

Kagome lifted her head just in time to actually hear and see his lips finish their apology. She was slightly amazed. Inuyasha didn't look like one to apologize for anything and yet he'd just done it, and by the way his eyes were closed she guessed she was right.

 

“I'm sorry too.” She saw Inuyasha eyes open really wide. They looked like they were going to pop out of his head. Kagome couldn't help but giggle as his mouth opened and closed a few times before finally snapping shut.

 

“Inuyasha I'm Kagome Higurashi it's nice to meet you.” She scooted closer to him. “OK so where are you hurt?”

 

He blinked. `Did she just say “nice to meet you” to me? This girl is loony. If those memories were real…'….. “

 

“Nice?”

 

“What” Kagome asked completely confused.

 

“You said it was nice to meet me.”

 

“I-I don't understand.” Kagome was really confused. `What's this guys problem?'

 

“You said I tried to kill you!” He said slightly louder than intended.

 

“Oh!” Now she understood what his problem was. “Well you see before you were all weird and obedient. Just like a dog.” He watched her smiled the blushed before she continued on.

 

“Then after nearly getting killed you started changing. Your hair was all black just like your eyes. You were acting just like a demon.”

 

“I am a demon.” He said…'Well part demon.' He thought bitterly.

 

“I mean you were acting like a “Evil” demon. You look like your better now. Not as nice as when you were all obedient like but nice all the same.” She finished with a thoughtful look on her face.

 

“What do you mean Evil demon??” He had to ask hoping against hope for the answer he'd been waiting for since he left home.

 

“What do you mean? You're a good demon the other you was a bad one. As simple as that.” She stated it like it was obvious.

 

“So you have good and bad demons”

 

“Of course!”

 

“What. What year is it!?” Kagome heard the slight panic in his voice.

 

`Oh oh.' Now Kagome understood. “You… you've been asleep for Seven-hundred years Inuyasha.”

 

“Seven…seven-hundred years.” His eyes were wide.

 

“Yeah Inuyasha I know it's a lot to take in, but I really need to see where you're hurt.” She'd just realized that he hadn't moved during the whole talk and now she was worried.

 

“I'm not hurt.” Inuyasha said.

 

“You're not then why aren't you moving??”

 

“It's the spell.“

 

“The spell??” She asked dumbly. “Oh right the spell! Inuyasha I order you to stand up and move your body as you please.”

 

Inuyasha stood up. He looked at Kagome then the print of his body in the ground. “How?”

 

“Well looks like when I freed you, I got control over you.” Kagome said with a bright smile.

“Oh……Wait WHAT!!”

 

RRRRROOOOAAAAAARRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

They both looked sky ward. “What was that?” Kagome whispered.

O yeah!!!! It is 3:14 in the morning and I've finished another chapter. OK I'm happy with this chapter. Came to me rather easier than the last two. God I feel sick. That would be because I am. I'm looking for a BETA reader! I'm sick of editing! Um… not much to say have any questions e-mail me. Or review. I love this show Inuyasha it's like one of the only anima where I don't have to worry about reading a YAOI…Or gay stories… YUCK…Man and women stop messing with the natural order of things.
