Sorry for the delay guys! I’ve been trying to work on my chapter for a moment in time so this chapter has been sitting in my notebook for a while….. (sweat drop) This chapter isn’t really that good, basically its just a filler so I can start working up to the main point(which is a secret…teehee).

Chapter 4: the circus
---
That night when Sesshomaru returned home, he pretended as if nothing happened. But secretly, he was planning his revenge. He sat on his bed, pondering (gotta love that word) the perfect comeback. Then an idea struck him as he glanced up at a wooded case mantled across him on the wall.
“tensegia” he thought, he could have fun with that. Maybe a cat chase? Of course he knew he could never cut her with it let alone hurt her, but she didn’t know that.
Sesshomaru pulled tensegia out of the case and leaned it up against his bed frame.
“this will be fun”

The next morning, kagome woke up to a scary sight.
“AHHHHH!!!” kagome screamed as she looked up. There was Sesshomaru standing over her, with a sword in his hands?
“what the hell are you doing!?!?” kagome yelled as she ran out of the room. Rin woke up laughing. She knew tensegia couldn’t cut, but it was just too funny to watch.
Sesshomaru chased kagome into the living room, slashing his sword at her.
“Sesshomaru stop!!” kagome screeched. She jumped over the couch and the kitchen counter.
“is this how I’ll die?” kagome thought. “ being chased and ct down by a psychotic demon with a sword???”
Kagome came to a dead end. She stared up at Sesshomaru.
“Sesshomaru don’t do this, please?” kagome begged. “I have candy…”
Sesshomaru smirked and swung tensegia. Kagome screamed.
“huh? I’m not dead?”
Sesshomaru smirked again. “tensegia cannot kill”
“what!!! You chased me around and didn’t even tell me that it wouldn’t even kill me? that’s no fun…”
“not for you it isn’t…”
“well what does it do?” kagome curiously asked.
“it brings back the dead!” Rin squealed.
“really?!?” kagome asked.
“would you like me to show you?” Sesshomaru asked, flexing his claws.
“uh…no thanks…”
“dad, I’m hungry..” Rin complained, pulling at Sesshomaru’s sleeve, while working the pout.(I wish I could work the pout!…hmf)
“okay okay” Sesshomaru said. “what do you want?”
“whatever she wants!” Rin squealed, pointing to kagome.
Sesshomaru groaned and turned to her. “ok, what do you want?”
Kagome thought about it. “perfect time to get him for that sword prank”
“chocolate chip pancakes, sunny side eggs, French toast, and bacon!!” she cheered. Rin began to cheer along with her, then they fled off to the living room and began to watch Sunday morning cartoons.
“ I highly doubt they’ll eat all of that” Sesshomaru groaned in annoyance.

“haha!” Rin and kagome laughed.
“this is fun” Rin giggled. “you’re the best.”
Kagome smiled, “thanks”
Sesshomaru walked into the room. He felt a warm almost melting feeling in his chest as he watched the two girls bonding, watching TV together.
“breakfast is ready” Sesshomaru announced, breaking the moment.
“oh boy, breakfast!” kagome cheered as she grabbed Rin’s hand and sprinted into the kitchen.
“over excited?” Sesshomaru thought as he followed the girls into the kitchen.
When he reached the table, kagome was downing food as Rin cheered her on, taking little bites of her own food here and there.
“Done!” Kagome slammed down her utensils and jumped up. “lets go!”
“where?” Rin and Sesshomaru asked together.
“ I heard the circus is in town!”
“yay!!” Rin cheered.
Sesshomaru looked confused. “circus??”
Kagome rushed up to Sesshomaru and grabbed his hand, pulling him and Rin out of the house.
Sesshomaru blinked, slightly shocked at the tingling sensation when her hand graced his. It felt like his insides were melting. (note that I use the word ‘melt’ a lot)

“look at that!” Rin called to Sesshomaru and Kagome as she watched the performers make their way across the rope that hung across the tent.
Kagome smiled and linked her arm with Sesshomaru’s, and rested her head on his shoulder.
Sesshomaru jumped inside his skin when kagome leaned her head on his shoulder. Why did this feel do foreign to him? Sesshomaru brushed it off and watched Rin ‘ooo’ and ‘ahh’.

Several balloon animals and face pains later, it was over. The three were walking down the sidewalk back to the house.
Kagome’s phone started ringing.
“hello?” Kagome asked,
Sesshomaru heard babbling from the other side.
“okay, yes mama, bye” Kagome closed her phone shut.
“Sesshomaru?” Kagome asked shyly.
“hn?”
“jii-chan is sick in the hospital and mama needs to be there to take care of them because dad is away, she wanted to know if Sota could spend a few nights with us….”
“ok”
“thanks so much!!!!” KAgome ran up and bear hugged Sesshomaru, then did a short happy dance. ( I love the happy dance)
“will I have someone to play with???” Rin asked, happily.
“yea, my little brother is going to spend some time at our house.”
“really?! Come one otou, okaa, lets go!!” Rin said, running between them and grabbing their hands.
Rin turned around and let out a nervous laugh. “ where are we going?”

When they reached the shrine, kagome took out her key and opened the door. Instantly, Rin barged inside.
“Sota!!! Rin is here to play!!” Rin called throughout the house.
Sota came lazily walking downstairs. “nee-chan?” he asked groggily.
“hey Sota!! Anyway, you’re staying with us while mama is with jii-chan at the hospital” kagome said.
“and you can play with me!!” Rin piped in.
“um…ok” Sota began to wobble upstairs “be right back”
“is he ok?” Rin asked, looking at the path Sota just took to his room.
“he’s fine. He just doesn’t like to get up at all on the weekends.” kagome giggled.
“indeed” Sesshomaru replied.
Rin’s face brightened. “if you and dad get married, does that mean Sota will be my uncle?!”
Kagome blushed and looked over to Sesshomaru, who’s face was unchanged as usual. “I guess so”
Kagome replayed that sentence in her head. Why did Rin’s question sound so…..different? Kagome thought about it and out of know where a little light bulb popped up. “that word” she thought. “ if, she keeps saying if. Did Sesshomaru’s last relationships turn out for the worst?” kagome made a mental note to ask him about that later.
She was snapped back to reality when she noticed something, she needed to collect some more of her belongings if she was going to be living there. Kagome looked to Sesshomaru, “stay here”
She grabbed Rin’s hand and jolted up the stairs and into her room.
“what are we doing?” Rin asked, closing the door after they both stepped into the room.
“this was my room” kagome explained. “ I need to get some more of my things so I can stay with you guys,”
“ok!” Rin cheered “Rin would like to help!” Kagome pulled out a suitcase from her closet and plopped it down onto her bed and began to hand thinks to Rin so she could put them in.
“this looks like daddy!” Rin proclaimed, holding up kagome’s prized stuffed white dog.
“huh?” Kagome blurted, obviously confused. “how does Sesshomaru look like a fluffy white dog??”
“never mind” Rin giggled, putting the dog in her suitcase.
“um…”
“sup Rin?” Kagome mused.
“don’t you need these?” Rin asked shyly, holding up kagome’s green school uniform.
“oh my god! I need that for tomorrow!!!” Kagome rushed over to her closet and pulled out a few and shoved them into her suitcase.
As they were getting ready to go back downstairs, a spark went off in kagome’s head. “I almost forgot!!”
A very confused look instantly appeared on Rin’s features.
“where are you? Come on don’t be scared” Kagome cooed, getting down on her hands and knee’s and looked under the bed.
Still confused, Rin began to occupy herself with zippering and unsparing kagome’s suitcase. (man that IS addicting)
“there you are!” crawling out from under the bed, kagome lifted her arms up in victory.
“a cat?” Rin thought. In kagome’s arms was a multicolored and very fat cat.
“Rin, meet Buyou” Kagome stretched her arms out and held the cat up to Rin. She smiled and pet him.
“dads not going to like this, he hates cats.” (haha doggy doesn’t like kitties.)
Kagome smirked. “really? He’ll get over it”
Rin laughed and they headed downstairs, where Sesshomaru and Sota where waiting.
When they arrived downstairs, Sota’s face lit up. “Buyou! I’ve been looking for you!”
Kagome smiled and handed Buyou to Sota, then took her suitcase from Rin.
When Buyou meowed, Sesshomaru immediately began to growl back.
“Stop it” Kagome scolded, earning him a playful slap on the arm.
“you’re not seriously bringing him, are you?” Sesshomaru asked.
“what if I am?”
“this Sesshomaru does not like cats.”
“Well this Sesshomaru will have to get over it.” kagome snapped back, holding Buyou up to him. “he’s too lazy to do anything to you anyway.”
Buyou yawned and fell asleep when she put the slumbering cat in her brothers arms.
“Ready?” Sesshomaru asked. Well asked annoyingly but asked none the less.
“yep, lets go” Kagome ran ahead with the kids, Sesshomaru following behind, walking.

Later, the four of them(well with Buyou its 5 but ya) were sitting around the table, eating dinner.
“So….hows it going lately?” Kagome asked, looking across the table at her brother.
“fine” Sota whispered, putting a piece of food in his mouth. “what about you nee-chan?”
Kagome brightened. “me? Well its pretty good. How about you Rin?”
“Rin loves school!” Rin cheered. She looked over to Sesshomaru. “how about you?”
“hn”
“hn?that’s it?” kagome asked. “sounds interesting”
“hn”
Kagome growled under her breath. “hn? Is that all you ever say?! We’re trying to have a conversation with you and all you say is ‘hn!’”
“this Sesshomaru does not want to say anything” Sesshomaru looked down at his plate and then to everyone around him.
“well maybe you should!”
“nee-chan, calm down” Sota hushed.
Kagome put her chopsticks down on her plate, and stomped out of the room.
“will she be ok?” Rin asked timidly.
Sota sighed “she use to always get mad, she just needs time to cool down”
“dad, maybe you should talk to her” Rin suggested, cleaning up kagome’s plate.
Sesshomaru looked over to Rin, then Sota. They both nodded. “hn” he got up from the table and headed to Rin’s room.
Now that he was standing outside the door, the scent of salt and tears clogged his nostrils. He was about to reach for the handle but stopped when he heard kagome speak. His hearing picked up another lower voice, she was talking on the phone.
“mom, he’s a good guy and I like him” kagome sobbed into the reciever.
Sesshomaru let a slight smirk creep onto his face.
“I know mom,” kagome sobbed, “ but how am I supposed to marry him if we cant even get along?”
Sesshomaru felt his smirk drop. Is that how she really felt?
