Didn’t bother updating in a long time cause of college and now university is around the corner for me.

Chapter 7

Kagome opened her eyes slowly. She couldn’t remember what happened last night only that she reached the top of the stairs to find...

InuYasha! Where is he?!

Her question was answered when an arm around her waist moved. She turned to her head to find amber eyes looking back at her with concern.

InuYasha was as handsome as he’s always been. Long silky silver hair, golden honey eyes, and two cute dog ears at the top of his head that no one can resist. How much she missed touching them. Kagome reached to stroke the furry triangles. Her response was a low purr like vibration from his chest and he leaned into her hand.

She pulled away after two minutes, captured in the golden abbess of his eyes. InuYasha sighed and held her. Kagome relaxed in his arms, content to stay like this forever, but questions were floating in her head that had to be answered now.

“InuYasha? What took you so long?”

InuYasha gave her a weak smile.

“I’m sorry Kagome, that I didn’t come back here sooner. The rebelled youkai were tougher then I thought. It was odd though as most of them were small youkai like plague rats or giant cobras”.

InuYasha looked away for a split second before meeting her eyes again.

“I really thought Sesshomaru was gonna lose this battle. The youkai rebels pushed Sesshomaru’s army way back, not far from Kaede’s”. From the look on Kagome’s face, she was worried about the others. “Don’t worry; they never got to the village”. Kagome sighed in relief. At least their friends were still alive.

“The moment my brother called for reinforcements did we drove the youkai back. However because they kept coming, I was forbidden to come back here to help you. ‘Cause I did try on several occasions but I was caught. For the next three years we drove the army back until we killed their leader, Mephisto. He was an undead youkai from the west”.

“After he was killed, the youkai rebels surrendered. Some refused to rejoin Sesshomaru while others were more than willing. For six months this continued until everything calmed down. That was when I visited Miroku, Sango and Shippo before coming back here. They miss you, you know”.

InuYasha caressed Kagome’s cheek. “Forgive me Kagome for not coming earlier. I really wanted to be here with you rather then battling youkai”.
Kagome shook her head slightly and gave him a chaste kiss before embracing him. Both of them had sat up on the bed while InuYasha told her about the battle he was in for the last two- three years.

InuYasha noticed that something was missing.

“Kagome...where is Hope? I didn’t see her when I came here last night”

He instantly regretted asking her that when he felt Kagome stiffen in his arms. Her shoulders began to sake slowly as she replied.

“She’s...dead. I killed her”

InuYasha held her as she continued. “She became infected...after getting ...bitten by a pack of infected dogs. I tried to save her...but...she...was changing. I strangled her. I couldn’t bear to see her get infected too!” She sobbed onto his shoulder and he held her tighter.

InuYasha felt guilty. He should have been there sooner. Kagome was now the last one left in her time. The last one not infected. That is nothing compared to the loneliness InuYasha had when he was a child. All he could do was hold her until she calmed.

Kagome couldn’t bare it any more. She waited too long for him to come back. She needed him. Now! She leaned her head towards his and kissed him, passionately. InuYasha was taken aback before he returned it with the same fiery passion. InuYasha wanted this to and from what his nose was telling him, she was not fertile at the moment.

“InuYasha...please...I need you...I’ve waited too long”

“I know. I’ve waited too” he kissed her and gently lowered her to the bed, his hand going under her top to clutch her breast. (She didn’t wear a bra before she went out in her land rover). Kagome moaned into his mouth, slow tears falling from the corners of her eyes. They made no hurry to remove their clothes.

InuYasha sent a path of light kisses down her neck until he reached her breasts and began to suck on her nipples. Kagome moaned louder as he travelled further down till he reached her womanhood. It was such a long time since he last tasted her. He spread her legs a little before sending his tongue into her. The miko moaned louder as he touched the sensitive nub inside her.

Kagome grasped onto his head as he continued his sweet torture and until the familiar knot swirled in her stomach before screaming as she climaxed. InuYasha made sure that none of the juices escaped. Kagome was panting, sweat resting on her body. How long she wanted to feel this. How long she wanted the hanyou back in her bed!

InuYasha wiped his mouth before laying next to her, stroking her cheek.

“You okay?”

Kagome, still panting, smiled “Yes...I’m ready”

With that said InuYasha kissed her before he mounted on top of her and thrust into her with one swift move. Kagome’s eyes widened the feel of him inside her again. She totally forgot how big he was...

She held onto to him for dear life as he built up the pace. Both of them moaned in union. So much pleasure, so much love in their eyes, how much they both missed this. Kagome bellowed as her climax overwhelmed her. InuYasha roared in delight as he soon joined her. He thrusted himself slowly inside her a little more before collapsing on top of her, both trying to catch their breath.

Kagome held him close as she kissed him on his forehead.

“That was...wonderful”. Actually he was brilliant. Even though it was a long time since they made love, her fiery needs for him never evaporated.
InuYasha smiled at her. She groaned as he pulled out of her. He layed next to her as they held each other until they dozed off. An hour later, they got up to wash before going to the kitchen.

At 10am that morning, Kagome told InuYasha of her trails so far. The closest one to a cure she got was serum 6. But even that failed. She told him she would show him an infected as he never saw one up close before.

First though she made breakfast. Kagome made him his favourite: Ramen, which he gulped down in delight. Kagome wasn’t really that hungry, she just made herself some cheese on toast. It was after breakfast did she take InuYasha down into the lab. Like herself, InuYasha was also immune, both airborne and contact with an infected host.

He was taken aback when he saw the infected woman: her thin body, her arteries and veins up in the surface of her skin. And also a strange goo like liquid around her head. But there was something else amiss as well. Her scent...

“Umm...Kagome...?”

“Yeah? What is it?” She wasn’t really paying attention to his face until she turned to face him. When she noticed the confusion in his eyes, she asked again. InuYasha simply said:

“Her scent... it smells of, blood but also...youkai”

“Youkai?!” Kagome shouted, alarmed.

“Yes. It’s almost as if her blood is youkai and yet it isn’t”.

Youkai?

How odd. What did youkai had to do with KV? What was going on?

At noon, Kagome and InuYasha waited at the temple for anyone who had heard her radio broadcast. She told InuYasha that she sent it out two years ago. He asked her why she still comes to the temple to wait when no one had come over the years.

“I haven’t given up hope...that there are others like me”. InuYasha said no more as they waited. An hour later, Kagome and InuYasha decided to leave until...

Someone was coming up the stairs. No three were coming. Kagome had to hold her breath and thanked the Kami that InuYasha was wearing the bracelet that made him look human. (Kagome made the concealment charm the year before InuYasha went to battle).

The middle aged young man waved at them.

“Hey! Are you Kagome Higurashi!?”

Kagome and InuYasha ran to meet the three immune humans. She shook hands with the man. All of them had weapons on them, mostly machine or rifle guns.

“I am Taka Daisuke”. Next to him stood a pretty woman in her late 20’s and also and a late teen girl.

“This is my wife, Chou and our friend, Haru Juro. We heard your radio broadcast”.

Kagome was speechless. At last after these years, someone had finally come.

“Yes. Let’s return to my house”

“We were in Kyoto when the dark seekers came. We were evacuated towards China but the ship never left the docks. We managed to escape but we don’t know what happened with the immune survivors”.

“So when did you hear my broadcast?”

“Three days ago”

Kagome noticed that Taka and Chou were trying to edge as far away from InuYasha. He took of his concealment charm, as both Kagome and InuYasha thought it would be ok. Only Haru seemed interested to know InuYasha, but he was a little uncomfortable on how close Haru kept scooting to him.

“Taka, you and Chou can take my parents room. Haru.”

Haru was brought back to Earth as she heard her name called.

“You can take the spare room”

“But where will InuYasha be sleeping?” Haru asked. Kagome could tell she wouldn’t mind sharing her room with him.

Sorry missy

Kagome and InuYasha blushed as she replied “He’ll be sharing with me”

Haru looked disappointed. InuYasha was already taken. But something in her eyes told her she wouldn’t give in.

“As to let you all know, everyone expect InuYasha is forbidden to enter the lab unless you have my permission”.

Everyone nodded their heads in agreement.

“At 6pm everything must be quiet as that’s when the infected go out through the winter. No loud noise or music. No one goes out either. You all understand?” Another nod of heads, Kagome was satisfied.

She got up to leave them to their leisure before she and InuYasha left to the lab. Haru sighed as she said to her friends:

“That hanyou is hot”

“Don’t even think about it Haru” Chou said.

“You trying a new cure?”

“Yep. This time I’ll use my immune blood with serum 6 with a hint of my power. Let’s see what that does”

“But Kagome the youkai substance in the infected might be keeping them alive. You destroy it, maybe no cure”

“I have to try” InuYasha sighed. Kagome as stubborn as ever.

“Kagome, did Dr. Krippn had any links to youkai when she made the so called cure?”

Kagome thought for a moment before answering. “No. I didn’t sense any auras whatsoever. Besides I doubt any youkai would work with human doctors”.

“True”.

Kagome injected the new serum into the infected and woman and then put away her equipment. Then they waited. But nothing happened. Kagome sighed. Still no cure.

InuYasha wrapped an arm around her shoulders and held her close. Then a thought came to him.

“Hey Kagome...maybe I can identify the youkai scent coming from them”

Kagome looked at him confused. “What do you mean?”

“Well when I was in the battle I learned how to transform into a dog by a powerful sorceress. About the size of Kirara in her fire cat form. I can go out now and try it sniff out the youkai”.

“Are you saying that a youkai could have caused the virus?”

“I don’t know, but I’m going to find out what it is”.

Kagome and InuYasha locked the lab before going to the front door. Kagome watched in amazement as the hanyou before her became a beautiful white giant hound. Before he could dash off, Kagome hugged him.

“You look so cute” she got a soft purr as a respond. “Be careful. Be back before sundown”. With that said, the InuYasha howled before running down the steps. Kagome turned to go back in the house to find Taka, Chuo and Haru stare in amazement.

“How long have you known InuYasha, Kagome?” Haru asked.

“About ten years”

“Wow! That long?”

Kagome sighed. Haru was a nice girl but she talks too much. She wouldn’t let the conversation go. So Kagome decided to ask her something.

“So where are your family?” Haru quietened.

“Before I got on the ship, the military were scanning those that were immune or not I’m an only child. I was scanned as ok but my parents were no good. That’s when I meet Taka and Chou”.

“Sorry to hear about your parents” Kagome regretted asking her that now. She mentally kicked herself as over the entire world are ‘no good’.

“What about your family?”

“Dead”

Haru looked at her. How could she just say it as if it was nothing? Then again, being a doctor and all, Kagome couldn’t dwell on the past.

The silence was broken when Kagome’s watch alerted her of the time.

6pm. Dammit. Where is InuYasha

Said person came through the door, dragging her down the lab to tell her what he found out. When they entered the lab, before InuYasha could explain, something was different to the woman on the table...

“It’s...”
