~hidden mysteries and an unknown protector~

The moment she met Totosai she kinda regretted it. He was slovenly and looked like a giant bug with his huge wide eyes. It was different with him. He took a liking to her immediately and agreed to make her own fang into a sword of her own. Sesshoumaru was sort of angray that he had made a sword for her and not him when he requested it so long ago. Only catch to that was that Sesshoumaru demanded him to make a sword as strong as the Tetsusaiga.
"OWWW!"
Jessica had almost made him deaf with the volume of her scream when he pulled her fang out. large tears threatened to spill on her cheeks from pain. A cut wasn't so bad, but when she felt Totosai pull it out, root and all, it seemed like eternal pain to her.
"I would have thought you would kill me if I tried to pull it out. however, you proved me wrong," Totosai muttered on.
"Shut up now or I Will kill you."
"She has low tolerance for men."
"Then why does she travel with you, Lord Sesshoumaru?"
"There comes times that you should not ask questions like that, you old fart," Jessica told him coldly.
Totosai started to beat the fang so that it would take on the form of a sword. Every time he heated it, it's power grew. A power that was hidden within herself and her new sword. Sesshoumaru felt it's demonic power grow and fade. maybe it would be too powerful for someone like her to wield, Sesshoumaru thought to himself. Totosai took notice of the Inu-taiyoukai's changing emtions, but did not mention it to anyone.
Jessica found herself yawning and winced when it put strain on the sore area where her tooth had been.
"Totosai, I will take my leave now. if you should attempt to flee, I will hunt you down."
Jessica got up to follow Seshoumaru.
"No, you must stay here young inu-youkai."
"Be as it may, you will have to stay with Totosai."
"But-"
"I will not hear it."
Sesshoumaru left the cave and flew off to the castle to take care of Rin while Jessica just stood at the mouth of the cave staring at the spot he had long disappeared at.
"You should not worry. There is a spirit that follows him and stays where any of his charges are."
"A spirit?"
"I have felt her presence before but I don't remember where."
"Typical."
"Why don't you take a walk?"
" I guess I will."
Jessica jumped as quickly as she could over the hot coals that was once a field before Totosai had burnt it. There was forest that surrounded his home, so she decided to explore it. She didn't stray too far from the sight of his home. About thirty yards ahead she came upon a field of wild flowers. To take up some time she started to pick some and weave them into little crowns of wild beauty.
A presence made itself apparent there, but when she turned around she saw no one. Up above was a beautiful protector, a gaurdian angel if you will, watching her. Her long silver hair hung down and the purple stripe on each cheek spoke a story all on it's own. Her golden eyes studied the young girl beneath her once again continuing on with her tiny little art works.
I never knew that my close friend's daughter and her friend had survived the attack on that day so long ago. I wonder how my own child is doing? How long has it been since he died protecting a mortal woman and his hanyou son?
It was beginning to get dark and other youkai began lurk in the woods looking fot another victim to devour. Jessica headed toward the glow that led straight to Totosai's home. When she got there he was already asleep and her sword was beside him, half-done. She released her hair from her tie and settled into the spare sleeping bag that Kagome had given her for traveling.
The slight sound of buzzing could be heard, if only for a split second, then the saimyousho was silenced by the mere twitch of the wrist from the silent guard. She looked upon the sleeping girl and settled into her own spot far enough away to avoid notice but close enough to keep an eye out for the girl.

When Jessica woke up she found Totosai preparing for breakfast and another day of swordsmithing. The sword was already forming into a delicate blade. She sat, her eyes transfixed on the blade. She took her eyes off it and got up so she could bathe in a river that had escaped Totosai's desecration of earth itself. Her protector had already gotten up and cleaned up so that her scent wasn't left behind for Jessica to notice.

He had seen the saimyousho hovering around that area, watching waiting. The two jewel shards in his leg glimmered and his speed increased. He had smelled the scent of his rival, Inuyasha. But it was a few weeks old, so it didn't bother him that much. Naraku was in this area, he could sense that much. He looked back to see if his wolves were catching up to him. Sure enough they haven't the speed to keep up with him at all.

Naraku had seen the girl head out. He didn't know what she was going to do, but it was of no concern to him. He had sent out his posion insects to catch wisps of conversation outside of the castle walls. It turned out that Sesshoumaru wasn't going to leave for another day or two. Plenty of time to absorb the girl. He knew that she was nearby at a hotspring.

Her tooth was beginning to grow back and was lengthening every few hours. With her hair pinned up she settled into the hot water. She had washed herself off earlier in a more suitable place so that she wouldn't make the hotspring dirty. She had no idea that Naraku was hiding nearby and if she had known she would have thrown some clothing on before Koga had run by and blown away her towel.
"Hey have you seen a white baboon or a girl on a giant feather?"
Koga hadn't realized yet that she was a stunned girl who was naked.
"No, I haven't! Get away from me! Now!"
"What is you problem!"
"Uh, Koga she's naked," Hakkaku told him.
"I think she was taking a bath," Ginta added.
"Koga.....nice to see that you still have those jewel shards," Naraku said as he slid out of the shadows.
"You bastard, I'll tear you to shreds!"
With a blow from Koga's fist her towel was brought closer within reach. As she reached for it it, it was blown away with another missed punch. She turned beet red when she realized that she was halfway out. Then she tried to reached for her clothing. it was incerated by Naraku's miasma. Her face turned even darker. She was desperate. The only thing left was her towel, which was ridiculously small, but big enough to cover her main part of her body that she wanted to hide from men. She saw her towel a few feet away. I have got to get it. I gotta get outta here and find some new clothing. How the hell am I supposed to do that?
Then she decided. she jumped out fast enough for Hakkaku and Ginta not to see her but Koga who moved fast saw her. In all her glory. She grabbed the towel and wrapped herself in it then turned around.
"You guys are assholes!"
She turned and ran throught the forest. When she found a secluded spot she collasped against a tree. She sighed and started to turn red again. Once again she felt a presence beside her.
a beautiful female youkai that smelled familiar, yet not was walking toward her. her clear golden eyes held secrets long held away and her hair was long and silver. A stripe stood out of each delicate, pale cheek and a large pendant lay upon her chest. She carried a fighting kimono that was in a intricate design that suit a girl.
"Who are you?"
"I cannot tell you now. Just take this."
She handed jessica the package. Jessica opened it and gasped. At each hem flowers were embriodered in half and full bloom. it consisted of light blue material that resisted anything that could harm who was wearing it. Unlike most kimono it had pants for easier movement and control.
The female youkai motion for her to go and put it on behind the tree. She didn't tell Jessica that it had been given to her by her mother. To think that my close friend was killed in battle and left a daughter behind. But so, it is curious to see my own son with her. I never even told her about him. my friend was so kind as to give me her own kimono that she recieved from her husband just because I complained about my clothing. I wonder if the girl will ever realize who's that was?
Jessica came out from behind the tree. The clothing seemed to make her eyes stand out and fit close to where it needed to. The youkai smiled and nodded her head. She turned to leave.
"Wait!"
She turned to look at the girl quizzically.
"Thank you for this, but why does it smell so much like my mother?"
"Perhaps another day."
She flew off and disappeared before Jessica could ask her again. Jessica had been staring at that spot for a while till she realized the fight was still probably going on. She turned and headed straight to the hotspring. Koga was on the ground injured. Naraku was about to steal his jewel shards when she intervened with her crystal nails. Darkness intensified in her eyes and she began to stab at him. He realized she was too strong at the moment and turned into miasma.
She clenched her fists. That bastard. He must have been watching me the whole time while I was bathing.
Koga pulled himself up and tried to keep his pride from shattering. He stared at the girl that had so easily made Naraku leave. Because of her, he still had his jewel shards.
"Just who the hell are y-"
he was cut off by a hard punch to the face.
"If I EVER find you anywhere close to where I was bathing, I will make sure you will NEVER have any cubs. Got it?"
"Koga get up. I think she's serious," Hakkaku told him.
"Yeah. I think she'll really kill you,"Ginta said quivering.
Before Koga could start yelling at her, she was gone. He couldn't help but wonder why she hit him. then he remembered getting a look at her. He immediately forgot it and got up again.

Far off the youkai was watching. She had worried about the girl and how she would fare, but it was all for naught she was getting closer and closer to how strong her mother was and had the same abilities as well. Getting a sword would help though in learning more.
