The Lonely Hanyou and Affectionate Monk
Part 3
Keep it a Secret Kagome
"Aaand finished. There you go Sango all fixed up." The past travelling girl put the medicinal spray back into her large yellow back pack.
"Thanks Kagome." Sango examined the bandage job before Kirara hopped into her arms purring. She pet the twin tail creature staring out into the distance. It was mid afternoon, a cloudless sky with a bright sun causing the female warrior to squint a bit. "I hope Inuyasha and Miroku will be alright without my help."
Closing up her bag Kagome stared in the same direction placing a hand over her eyes as a visor. "I'm sure they're fine, besides, you're injury needed quick care."
The group had run into a large flying demon on their way to find more shards. Unfortunately this monster wasn't carrying one, which is why he attacked the travelers seeking out some for himself. Knowing Sango and Kirara were a threat with their flight, the demon attacked them first and hard. So Sango was left with a serious injury on her arm and Kirara a large gash near her torso.
"Look there's Shippou." Kagome pointed out to the little fox running their way. "The battle must be over then." The girls waited for the little demon to reach them. He stopped to catch his breath.
"Inuyasha... and Miroku... are on their way back." He panted out. "They really nailed that demon too."
Not too far away the two boys were taking their time getting back to the others, because a certain monk wouldn't keep his hands to himself. "Cut it out Miroku, this isn't the time." He snapped and for the fourth time pushed the wandering hands away.
"Can I help it if you're so irresistible." Miroku smirked knowing how it upset the hanyou when he'd talk that way about him. "Besides you know how I enjoy watching you fight."
"...Just cut it out alright." He tried his best to hide the blush creeping up on his face as it often did when someone complimented him.
"You win for now. But I'll find time for us to be alone and then I'll put my hands wherever I please."
"Tch. Good luck." Fighting a smile Inuyasha ran ahead seeing the field where the girls and Shippou were waiting.
"He's so cute when he's being bashful."
Inuyasha appeared before the others within minutes of leaving the monk behind. "So how'd it go?" Kagome asked standing to check the hanyou for injuries. Miroku joined them seconds later and she did the same with him.
"Heh 'nother waste of time as usual. If these demons are gonna pick fights they could at least be a worthy opponent." He boasted. This hadn't been the first time they'd been attacked for the small amount of jewel shards they possessed. Lately it seemed to be happening more than usual.
"Well if you two are all right I guess we should get going." Kagome suggested, Shippou hopped up onto her shoulder and Miroku went over to help Sango stand, being careful of her arm.
"Maybe we should take a little break first before we go getting into more trouble." The monk suggested. The others looked at him in question. "It'd give Sango and Kilala more time to heal." He explained sincerely.
"Good excuse for you're laziness Miroku." Shippou stated.
'What's that monk up to?' Inuyasha threw a glare at the sneaky monk but Miroku's expression remained innocent.
"What do you think, Inuyasha?" The futuristic girl asked. Putting his attention back on Kagome, Inuyasha huffed in complaint but agreed anyway.
"Fine but this is the last time for a good while, got it?"
"Of course Inuyasha." Sighing with satisfaction Miroku leads the way. "Now lets go find a nice place to stay." The amorous monk knew this area from having traveled around once on his own before meeting the others. There was a nice secluded hot spring not too far from them and he had big plans for it.
The six companions walked in a broken group the girls and Shippou trailing a bit behind and Inuyasha in the middle a short distance behind Miroku. They'd been walking for some time now and the sun was beginning to set. The others were becoming hungry and fatigued.
"I haven't seen any signs of a village for awhile." Sango stated still looking in each direction.
"Yeah, where exactly are we going anyway, Miroku? If we needed to rest we should have just stayed in the field." Shippou jumped from Kagome's shoulder up to the very concentrated Miroku. He seemed to be heading somewhere but remained quiet about it to the others.
"Yeah monk, where are you dragging us?" Inuyasha chimed in. His patients had been wearing on him from the heat and boredom.
Miroku let out a breathy laugh. "Well it was going to be a surprise but if you must know, there's a hot spring not too far from here, we'll stop there for the night."
"Hot spring?! Great, now I can finally take a bath." Kagome's eyes shined with the thought of taking a nice dip.
"Yeah, that'll be a good thing for all of us." Inuyasha joked and in seconds Kagome was beside him fist balled in false fury.
"And what is that supposed to mean? Next to you I smell like roses." She defended herself.
"And they don't smell all that nice either." He laughed but was cut short by a blow to the head. "Ow!"
"Hmph serves you right." She ran back to Sango grabbing the girls uninjured arm and pulled her along past the others.
"Kagome?"
"How far is this spring Miroku?”
"Just a few more feet, see those woods up there?" He used his staff to point towards the woods containing the hot spring.
"Come on Sango, Kirara, we can get there first. Before the guys ruin the fresh water." She guided Sango, who had Kirara on her shoulder, towards the woods.
"Hey what about me?" Shippou called after them and jumped from Miroku's shoulder chasing after them. "Hurry up you guys." He yelled over his shoulder. The last thing the two males saw was Shippou's tail disappearing into the woods.
"You dragged us all this way for some stupid water hole in the ground." Inuyasha finally moved up farther to walk side by side with his new lover.
"I thought it'd be a nice treat," He said the last word with a hint of slyness in his tone and a gleam in his eye. "for all of us." Then he took his free hand and grabbed the half dogs and Inuyasha did nothing to remove it. He just reveled in the good feel of being touched again. Since that night in the cave both boys had agreed to keep their relationship very discreet and hidden from the others for the sake of the group. It wasn't easy for either of them since the group was around all the time. They walked side by side as the sun disappeared more behind the horizon, the two made their way into the woods.
"There you two are." Shippou pointed out when the boys finally joined them.
"Yeah what of it?"
"We've been waiting forever," Kagome cleared up. Crouching down she opened up her big yellow bookbag and pulled out a bunch of different cans and packs, then some bottles of water and materials for eating. "Now you guys set up camp and we'll go enjoy the hot spring."
"Why should you get to go first?" Inuyasha barked. Miroku clamped a hand over the hanyou's mouth before he could say anything else.
"Now now Inuyasha, it wouldn't be polite of us to go ahead of the girls." He smiled at them. "It's better we wait our turn like gentlemen."
"That's very nice of you Miroku." Sango commented.
"Besides, I thought you didn't even want to take a break Inuyasha." Kagome badgered the half breed.
"Whatever, just hurry up."
"Me too?" Shippou asked.
"...Sure why not." Kagome decided. "And don't you two try anythi-"
"We know already!" Inuyasha huffed.
"Good." Kagome lead the group towards the spring.
"We won't be long." Sango added over her shoulder. The two lovers stared after them until they were all out of sight. Miroku reached over and kissed Inuyasha briefly on the lips.
"What was that for."
"You need to calm down and relax."
"Says you. I am calm."
"Look Inuyasha, once the girls are finished they'll be ready to go to sleep and we'll be completely alone and undisturbed in the spring." The monk explained.
"Oh yeah."
"Yeah. I told you I'd find a way for us to.." He trailed off, groping Inuyasha by reaching under his red kimono. Inuyasha leaned back into the touch closing his eyes until Miroku abruptly stopped, his eyes snapped open. "But first we have to set up camp."
"Hmph." He stalked off after the wind tunnel user to look for branches.
………………..
In the hot spring night had fallen and a cool breeze blew through the area every now and then. Kagome and Sango relaxed against the rocks, eyes closed reveling in the hot water. While Kirara sat outside on the ground and Shippou was a short distance away in his own mini spring. Which was built naturally by the upturned rocks and earth keeping him separate from the others.
"This is nice." Kagome sighed and sank down a little lower.
"Yes it is, and thanks to that medicine you gave me my arms already feeling better." Kirara made a small sound, agreeing with her master, indicating that she was feeling better herself.
"Huuh.. That's good." Just as they settled again letting the serene calm wash over them-
"You guys about done yet!" Inuyasha's shrill voice pierced through their peaceful silence.
"Rrr, sometimes I swear. We're almost finished!" The raven haired girl yelled back.
"Well hurry up!"
Kagome stood splashing her hands down in the water angrily unintentionally hitting Sango in the face.
"Hey! Careful Kagome."
"Sorry. Come on, we'd better go before Inuyasha blows his top" She stomped out of the water with her hands still balled in fist.
"Or you blow yours." Sango commented under her breath as she stood too wrapping herself in the towel Kagome brought from home.
"Lets go Shippou!" Kagome called waking the mini fox from his half slumber. They all dried then dressed and headed towards the glowing fire.
"Bout time."
"It wasn't enough time if you ask me." Kagome countered. They observed the nice fire roaring and the sleeping bags laid nicely for them. Food had been prepared and sitting aside.
"Wow look at this!" Shippou leapt over to the food for a better look and smell. The canned food Kagome brought from home, the noodles and fresh fish, Inuyasha caught himself while Miroku did the rest.
"This is really nice guys, you didn't have to make the food though I would have taken care of it."
"It was no trouble at all Kagome, really."
"Speak for yourself." Inuyasha grumbled starting to get impatient.
"Well you can all rest now and we'll be back later." Miroku rushed eagerly awaiting what he's been desiring for days. He pushed Inuyasha towards the spring.
"Aren't you going to eat." Sango called after them.
"Already ate!" Miroku answered back.
"No we didn-" The monk pulled the big mouthed hanyou along shutting him up for the third time that day.
"They sure are acting strange." Sango commented.
"Seems normal to me." Shippou comments and Kagome nods in agreement.
………………
The sound of clanking metal, rings through the woods as the Tetsusaiga and staff are dropped to the ground. Frantically the two remove each others clothing. Their mouths connected in a sensual way. Its been about a month since Miroku first expressed his feelings for the half dog and Inuyasha was finally starting to open up and become more comfortable with the relationship. The only problem was finding time for themselves, and keeping their secret.
Separating only a second the two climbed down into the water. Miroku was obviously in charge, controlling the kiss and letting his hands wander freely. But Inuyasha wasn't one to always sit back. Breaking their breathless kiss he pushed the monk against the large rock behind them and started the kissing again himself. Miroku laughed between the licks his demon lover was giving.
"I see someone's finally come around." He managed to speak when Inuyasha took his licking down to the monk's exposed neck and even further still, past well formed abs and Miroku watched with curious interest as the golden eyed boy sank under the water completely. His chuckle was cut into a gasp feeling the hanyou's mouth encircle his manhood. He gave an unseen smile down at the underwater dweller then leaned back against the damp rock as the sucking continued. His breath became harsh and his face moist from the rising heat of the water. 'How long can he stay down there?'
Soon after having thought it did Inuyasha emerge with a proud grin. "Ha! How'd ya like that monk?"
"Very impressive, my turn." Taking in a quick breath Miroku dipped under himself but then came back up on the other side of the dog eared boy and turned him around pressing his wet body against the rock. "Now stay." He warned and sank back under the water.
……………
The girls were sitting on large logs eating the well prepared meal with satisfaction.
"Mm. This is really good," Shippou chirped up between bites. "I didn't know Miroku could cook."
"Neither did I." Sango agreed.
"You know what this could use though, some nice hot tea to get us ready for bed." Kagome suggested putting her stick, that no longer contained a fish, down.
"Yeah, that'd be great." Shippou lied back almost like he passed out, letting the food settle in his full stomach.
"I think I've got some more water and tea bags in my back pack." The teen girl began to look around for said bag and didn't see it anywhere. "Huh that's strange."
"What is it Kagome?" Sango asked slightly concerned since there was no sign of danger.
"I don't see my back pack anywhere I know I gave the guys the food and- huuh! Oh no."
"What Kagome?" Shippou sat up... well as much as he could anyway.
"I left my bag by the hot spring." A quick flash went through Kagome's mind of the bag sitting against a tree that was a few feet away from the water.
"Well just go back and get it." Shippou says lying back down against the log. "It's not like it would matter, Inuyasha and Miroku have tried peeking at you two plenty of times."
"Hmm." Sango's brows furrowed.
Kagome spoke slowly. "Yeah you're right," she pondered the situation then waved a hand of dismissal, "and its not like they'll see me anyway, the bag is nowhere near the water. I'll just be quiet and careful." Standing Kagome headed back in the direction of the spring. "I'll be back in a sec." She whispered before leaving their sight.
Back at the spring Miroku was behind Inuyasha thrusting slowly and thickly into Inuyasha's backside. Pressing the hanyou's chest against the rough rock, his hand that held the wind tunnel worked on the half demons full grown erection and the other wrapped around the slender boys waist. Inuyasha pressed back into the rocking, pushing off the rock with his hands. Leaning his head back against Miroku's shoulder gave the monk free access to planting kisses on the exposed flesh. Both were breathing heavily a small sound of pleasure escaped the hanyou's mouth.
Sneaking quietly through the woods Kagome could see the glow of the water ahead and the tree that held her bag. 'Perfect, I'll just stay quiet and..' As she crept closer she heard something, something strange. A voice, but not talking or laughing. 'That's weird, I wonder what-' "Oh." Quickly planting a hand over her mouth to keep from making any further noise, Kagome's eyes went wide with shock at what she saw. Gasping inwardly, she watched her two best friends entwined in a way she'd only seen in books her school friends had shown her. Stepping back a bit ready to turn and run she snapped a twig.
"Oops." Looking back quickly the not so secret lovers appeared to not have heard. With a small sigh of relief Kagome stumbled away from them and hid behind a tree. 'Oh boy... I can't believe it, Inuyasha and Miroku- What am I gonna do?' She whined mentally. Hearing something else and not just something but a shared moan from both boys, she fled the tree and sprinted back to the camp. 'Forget the bag,' "I'll get it later!" She announced to no one.
"Aaah!" Releasing under the water, Inuyasha fell limp against the large rock in front of him. Seconds later Miroku climaxed himself.
"Uuuh!" Sighing heavily he collapsed on top of Inuyasha's back and they both stayed there regaining steady breathing. After a minute or two Miroku pulled out of his lover but kept himself pressed against the others back. "That was definitely worth all the trouble."
By that he meant setting up camp and preparing the meal for the others.
"Hm." Inuyasha could only reply with sound. The two stayed there a moment longer reveling in the good feel of each other mentally and physically.
He probably wouldn't ever admit it to Miroku out loud but Inuyasha was glad the monk had told him he felt something for him. Strange as it was before, now Inuyasha was happy that Miroku acted on those feelings. He'd never felt more at peace of mind and body until Miroku had become his lover. It was still hard, though, on both of them trying to keep their relationship a secret. For some reason Inuyasha just couldn't let Kagome find out. What if it hurt her too much and their friendship? Or things got weird within their group? He was constantly thinking about the consequences of this new found happiness and didn't know what to do about it.
Miroku knew Inuyasha was struggling inside, he could feel it and he knew why. He wanted nothing more than to tell the others about the two of them but Inuyasha just couldn't. So he respected his wish and kept quiet, even though he knew it'd be better for everyone if they just came out with it. He was almost positive no one would mind and if they did have a problem.. well they'd just have to deal with it.
"You ready to go now." Miroku suddenly asked trying to forget the nagging issue of their secret. He lifted himself off from Inuyasha's back.
"Yeah let's go." As soon as Inuyasha turned around Miroku kissed him again and he kissed him good. It might just be their last one for a good while. Inuyasha welcomed the kiss wrapping his arms around the monk who had his hands on Inuyasha's face. The emotion filled kiss lasted a good few minutes before they broke it up. Quietly the two got out of the water staying close to each other as they gathered their belongings and dressed.
Spotting something familiar Inuyasha went over to pick it up. "Forgetful idiot." He said holding up Kagome's back pack….
When Kagome had gotten back to camp she was uncharacteristically quiet and the others noticed right away. "Is something wrong Kagome?" A worried Sango asked.
"Yeah and where's your bag?" Shippou added.
'Oh no I forgot about that, what should I do? I can't just tell them what I saw or should I?... Hmm.' Lost in thought Kagome walked, zombified, to her spot near the log and sat down.
"Kagome?" Sango tried again.
Lifting her head the young girl looked in her friends direction feigning a smile. "Ahaha, sorry about that guys, I'm fine just had a little.. scare out in the woods." She lied.
"Are you alright, nothing happened did it?"
"No Sango, I'm perfectly fine. I just couldn't get my bag though, whatever it was chased me away."
"Well as long as you're all right." Shippou began then yawned. "I guess we should just get to sleep then. We could always have tea another time." He walked over to join Kirara by the fire and snuggled against the two tailed feline. The both of them were fast asleep within minutes.
"Good idea Shippou." 'Then maybe I can sort through what happened before morning.' Kagome thought. 'And maybe I can talk to Inuyasha myself about it, but what if he gets mad when he finds out what I saw.' Her expression fell more and more back into confused sadness with every thought. Sango watched the change in Kagome and she wanted to make sure everything was truly fine, but she decided against saying anything.
"Good night Kagome."
"Night Sango." Just as the two were about to lie themselves down-
"So you're still awake." Suddenly hearing Miroku's voice Kagome froze, she didn't dare turn around to look at either of them. “You didn’t need to wait up.”
"Looks like you forgot something," Inuyasha tossed the bag down at the girls side. "You should really be more careful with your stuff Kagome."
'Can't act too suspicious or they'll know something's up.' She warned herself. "Yeah, you're right. Silly me." She grabbed the bag still not turning to look in the boys direction. "Uh, thanks for bringing it back Inuyasha."
Inuyasha and Miroku exchanged a look of concern but thought nothing of it. "Well, guess we'd better turn in, it's pretty late." Miroku said. The two joined the others by the fire, putting out the already dying flames with dirt. Shifting position to fix her sleeping bag Kagome couldn't help but notice how close Inuyasha and Miroku were to each other but still a bit apart. 'Trying not to be obvious.' She thought and hurried to look away.
Opening his eyes briefly Inuyasha noticed the quick look away. "Somethin' wrong Kagome? You're not actin' right."
Her response came out faster and higher than she'd wanted it to. "No way, you're crazy. I feel fine, I am fine!" She quickly lied herself down to avoid eye contact. "See you guys in the morning." She said hoping the half demon would drop the matter and let her sleep. 'How long can I keep this up? I can't go on ignoring them forever someone's bound to notice.' Sighing inwardly, she snuggled down farther into her bag. 'I'll just have to deal with it tomorrow. They obviously don't want us to know about them so it's not my place to say anything. For all I know theya ren't even... even together and it was just a one time thing. I'll just wait it out.' Who knows, they might be getting ready to tell us any day now, maybe even tomorrow... Yeah.'
Putting her mind at rest the girl closed her eyes hoping for a nice sleep but she was only plagued further with images of the hot springs and its occupants….
The next morning was quiet as everyone collected themselves for the trip ahead. Sango watched Kagome with concern, Inuyasha was also watching Kagome curious himself from her behavior the other night. Kagome tried avoiding Inuyasha and Miroku, who were also trying to avoid each other. Shippou remained oblivious to it all, he just assumed everyone was still tired or weary about the journey ahead.
'This is stupid, get a hold of yourself girl. I've known Inuyasha and Miroku for ages now. Why should it even matter that they're.. together, or are they? It really could have been a one time thing... or not. Oh man this is too much.'
They all walked on quietly leaving the woods and the night before behind, so it seemed. Miroku was happily flashing back to the night before and what happened in the springs exciting himself for the next time they'd get a chance alone. Sango and Inuyasha still worried about Kagome but neither wanted to speak up. Kagome kept forcing the thoughts from her mind but it didn't work.
'I have to stop thinking about this... its not right, it's like prying or something. How could they keep this a secret from us and for who knows how long. How amm I supposed to keep it a secret?' Suddenly she stopped, causing the others to slow their pace to a stop themselves.
"What is it Kagome, something wrong?" Miroku asked before anyone else.
"I.. I-"
"Yeah spit it out." Inuyasha coaxed her.
"I think I need to go home."
"What?!" They all replied in unis.
"What for, are you sick or something?" A concerned Shippou ran over to the girl hopping on her shoulder. He put a small paw on her forehead.
"No Shippou, I'm in perfect health actually." 'Nice move stupid... Think of something.'
"Then why do you want to go home?" The little fox pried on.
"I just need to… restock! Yeah, for the journey ahead. We'll need more medicine and food definitely." Her words were convincing and true in a sense.
"Makes sense." Sango said quietly to herself.
"But we don't have time for this." Inuyasha whined.
"Inuyasha." Miroku warned before the half dog said anything else. Kagome had to hide her blush at the interaction between the two. She never noticed just how much Miroku kept the dog eared demon in check until now.
"Fine, you can go home but I'm coming with you, to make sure you don't waste anytime over there." Bounding over he kneeled before the girl waiting for her to climb on. Kagome turned her eyes away quickly.
"Uuh.. Maybe I could borrow Kirara instead." She was already walking over to Sango and said feline.
Inuyasha stood confused and worried about the girls still strange behavior. "Whatever. Let's just go." Without waiting he took off on his own not looking back.
Sighing inwardly Kagome climbed onto the waiting Kirara and bid her friends goodbye.
"I'll send her back to take you guys to Kaede's village, wait for us there o.k." She said and waved as the flying demon took off.
"See ya Kagome!" Shippou yelled.
"Miroku?" Sango approached the silent monk who had been staring after Inuyasha. He turned to face her, showing he was listening. "Did you notice Kagome acting strangely?"
"Yes but I figured it was something that happened last night with you guys."
"She was acting weird then," Shippou joined in. "She went into the woods to get her book bag because she forgot it by the spring and when she came back she wasn't herself."
'Oh really.. so she already knew about the bag before Inuyasha gave it back. That would explain things... a lot of things. Guess the secrets out then.'
"What do you think it could be?" Sango asked, taking the teen from his thoughts.
"Nothing some time away won't cure, I'm sure." The monk said cheerily and smiled.
"Let's start walking back to the village and meet Kirara half way."
Farther ahead Kagome stared down at the hanyou running in front of them. 'Well this isn't exactly how the plan was supposed to go but maybe this worked out to my advantage. If I can hint to him alone maybe Inuyasha will open up to me. If not I'll force it out of him.' They made their way to the mystic well and left for the other side where hopefully all would be cleared up between them.
The End
A/N: More to come keep checking back.
