Chapter 3: A story.

Drying and braiding her hair Rin came to a decision. Some how she would get Sesshoumaru-sama to talk about Kagome-san. That is the answer, talk about Kagome and the truth would come out all on its own. She smiled up at Sango. Everyone loved Kagome, and Sango was her closest confidant. It was bound to be a hard night on everyone but it had to be done. Akemi needed to know the truth. `Besides I still have questions of my own.' She thought running over them all in her mind. How did he come to know Kagome-san was the one for him? Does he still love her? Most importantly, why didn't he tell Akemi the truth? Silly questions but questions all the same.

Slinging the boar over his shoulder Akemi took off through the trees. From one branch to the next he went never touching one for more then a second. Getting the humans clothes was an excellent excuse to run and clear his head. His subconscious took control guiding him ever closer to the palace in the west. Thoughts raced through his head almost as fast as his feet carried him toward the only home he ever knew. How could it be that everything he had ever known was a lie? Akemi thought of Inu Yasha and what really happened to him. Did the half breed really die honorably in battle shortly after Kagome became pregnant? What of her? How did she really die? Reaching the gates of his home he shoved his thoughts violently aside in favor of the task at hand. Having gathered clothes and provisions for everyone he dumped it all on the futon in his room. He needed something to carry it all, he decided as he rummaged through his own closet for his own clothes. Reaching to the back he found an old blue fire rat haorie and hamikas barely big enough for a toy. Looking them over he smiled at the thought of Rin looking normal again and being able to play. Her baby was due any time now. Tossing the tiny clothes with the rest he returned to his search recovering a well worn yellow bag. Confused that he had never seen it before and unsure of what it was he examined it closer, finding only that it would be convent for the packing of a large number of items. Closing the closest he proceeded to cram all that he gathered unceremoniously into the bag. Heading back toward their cam he decided he would get his answers.

Rin set herself next to Kohaku. She mad herself comfortable, getting ready for a long night of story telling. “Sesshoumaru-sama, tell us a story.” She put on her best pleading yet innocent smile, “about how you came to love Kagome-san.” “I will tell Akemi in due time, Rin.” Shesshomuru's voice chilled the camp but Rin persisted. “Sesshoumaru-sama, I would still like to hear the story.” Rin pouted. “I am unsure how I came to love a human.” Emotion he had suppressed since her death threatened to well up. The only time in his life he really felt free to feel was with her, and now she was gone. He had been alone again for the last sixteen years. “You know the story Rin. You were there for most of it. I will not tell it again until I feel it is time to inform Akemi.” Silence fell once again over the camp as the demon lord walked away.
