The Gathering I

"Kagome!!" Inuyasha screamed.
His anger grew, pushing aside his fatigue and pain. In one movement he pulled himself up the root, finally getting a foothold on a rock. He cautiouslessly made his way to the cliff's edge, climbing over it. He panted as he sat on his knees, now back on semi-solid ground. He saw the old woman leaning nonchalantly against a tree, the artificial Inuyasha holding a claw to Kagome's throat.
"Inuyasha." The twin called. "It seems we have something of your's." Just then Inuyasha noticed the large gash across Kagome's midsection.
"Kagome." he whispered. "Stay alive."

"They are in the forest." She said simply. "In a large clearing, at the end of the path."
"Which direction is it, Lucia-hime?" The woman looked at him strangely, and pointed to the west.
"Thank you, ma'am." Sango said.

"What's wrong, Houshi-sama?" Sango asked as they walked down the dirt, forest road.
"Nothing," He said. "it's just the way that lady looked at me. It seems as though she were trying to read my intentions."
"Why would you think that?"
"I do it all the time."
"Oh."
"There." The monk pointed his staff toward a clearing ahead. "That must be it."
"Then come on, Houshi-sama!" They ran at top speed toward the grassy clearing. They ran into the field, seeing Inuyasha kneeling at the edge of a great cliff and there was the old woman, then there was- wait, another Inuyasha? And he had his claws at Kagome's neck!
"You bastard!" The real Inuyasha yelled. "Let her go, she has nothing to do with this!" The other Inuyasha laughed.
"She has everything to do with this!" He held a sharp fingernail at her chin, prompting a whimper. Kagome was hardly conscious.
Miroku and Sango ran to the real Inuyasha's side.
"What happened, Inuyasha?" Miroku asked.
"What do you think, monk? She's bein' held hostage."
"I can see that Inuyasha." He said. "But who is that and why are you here?"
"We don't have time for this!" Inuyasha stood, and drew Tetsusaiga threateningly.
"Let her go!"
"As you wish, Inuyasha." He pushed away. She laid on the ground, unconscious, not moving. At least she was out of harm's way.
"Come, Inuyasha." The doppleganger said cooly.
Inuyasha charged, swinging Tetsusaiga with all his energy.
"Die!" He swung the large sword down, missing the him by inches. The other Inuyasha was nowhere to be seen, now.
"Over here, Inuyasha." The old, evil woman said with a smirk. She held her hand out, then, in a pulse of purple energy, threw him backwards. He grunted as he landed with a hard thud on the charred ground.
"Inuyasha!" Miroku yelled as he charged. He sure wished he had the wind tunnel right about now. He swung his staff down on the old woman, hitting a barrier around her.
Suddenly, behind him, he heard something. Before he turned, the other Inuyasha had appeared, and struck Miroku across the chest with his claws. Miroku fell with a groan. Sango stared, dazed at the scene.
"Houshi-sama." She said quietly to herself. "No, Miroku ."
The doppleganger started toward the prostrate Inuyasha, readying his claws for attack. Sango immediately ran to Miroku's side, cradling his head in her lap.

"You should have fell, Inuyasha." He said with a smirk. "You might have woken up in the next world." He struck Inuyasha across the face with the back of his hand. Then he gave a more powerful swing with his claws, contacting Inuyasha in the ribs. Inuyasha was now unconscious.
"Now," He said, walking over to Kagome. "for you, little duck."
