InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The Needed Journey ❯ The Prophecy, and What the ... ( Chapter 13 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

Hey, Love you guys! Sorry it took so long! You may be wondering what the H%*L is going on in my head, right? I promise that by the last chapter, which is coming soon, you will understand ALL.

Caliko- *hug* Hi hun! I'll try this chapter without bugging you. I hope you have time for your exams! Adios!

Okay you may be wondering what happened with Inu in the last chapter, right? I'll explain that right now. I have always thought that Inuyasha's survival instinct was amazing, so I took it, as his mind would find the solution and survive the situation. Whether or not I give him to much credit is debatable. I also remember that Inuyasha was interested in what was happening with her in chap ten, so... Does that help or confuse things?

Slywolf9- thanks! The gathering will be interesting, but probably not THIS chapter.

Me, Myself, and Sessh- Thanks for the review! I completely understand about cliffhangers. Here is the chapter!

With that Sesshomaru and his group (Inu, Kag, Kiya, Rin) sat down next to Natasha's family. At that moment a bright purple light appeared that became a form of a women. (You know what going to happen next.) That woman was the goddess that had tortured Inuyasha, but she was also the Midoriko. (Sp?)

She seemed to sigh and look around then focused on the four. Just as she was about to speak one of the oldest demons there started to attack her. Inuyasha was ready to finally kick some ass, but fate did not wish for it. (HeHe! That would be me. Okay, Yes I am evil!) The woman just put a force field around him, which suspended him in midair. "You would be the great miko lady Midoriko, correct?" "Yes and I have something of great importance to tell both of you." As she said that she looked at both Kiya and Kagome. The purple light that had surrounded her disappeared as she took a seat in front of the little group.

She got a look on her face as if she forgot something and then you heard a Thump and she said, "Inuyasha if he tries that again feel free to do what you will. *Inu evil smirks* Now, back to business. I'm sure that you have noticed that you, Kagome, have very impressive purification abilities and Kiya has an aptitude for learning fighting techniques, which has not been brought to full potential due to no professional training. I'm also sure that you both know that the jewel was made in my body. What you don't know is that the jewel is only a way to keep the balance between good and evil as well as grant one pure wish, but that is a side effect due to the magic and power used to create it. While Kikyou was alive it was inactive. Then when it was burned with her body Evil could get no stronger and Kaede was powerful enough for the side of good. Unfortunately when Kaede got older and weaker it caused a flux that disrupted the balance, which led evil to grow out of control. When that happened the jewel sent Kagome to the past to stabilize the balance, which she did."

While this was conversation was going on the demons that were in the hall were just stunned into silence because of the fear on Midoriko and learning what the priestess was saying. Little did they know that they would be even more shocked at what more they would learn. "Okay that explains why and how Kagome got here, but that does not explain why you are here or how you are here." "I'll explain why in a few minutes, but I am here because I was granted the privilege by the god of fate. The reason I'm here is to explain to you four a little about you fate as well as Kagome and Kiya. Kagome has three souls: Kikyou's, the first needed protector, and two of the four souls. She is more powerful than Kikyou because after 500 years her soul became extremely and almost completely pure. Kiya has the other two, which are meant to help Kagome protect the jewel, and maintain the balance. If you are wondering why with the increase in good's power I'm not worried it is because Evil just took a HUGE blow and is licking its wounds. Evil will return. A prophecy foretells it." Midoriko grabbed a glass of water and prepared to continue talking, but was interrupted.

"Does my transformation and Kiya's ears have anything to do with this?" "No and Yes. Your transformation was caused by Inu's actions. You were not truly meant for him, but for someone else. Thus, when you ran and became a demon, because of the blood reacting with the jewel and the magic within you, you did so, subconsciously, to find that ONE person. Female Inu have an amazing ability for finding their ONE. If you had not wanted to find your ONE, even on a subconscious level, nothing would have happened, even with magic. Kiya you are a full demon, but your souls gave you the ears. Why? You're the keeper of the two of the four souls, which are pure and though biologically you are a full demon your souls are not rooted in demonic heritage thus the ears."

"Lady Midoriko, how do Inuyasha and I fit in the picture?" "Obviously you, Sesshomaru, are meant to care for and protect Kagome. Your father had the job of protecting one of these ladies before you. The fight were your mother died he took that charge, as well as a human mate very soon after, that was until Kiya ran away. Inuyasha's fate on the other hand is not exactly determined yet." "Oh, does this have anything to do with the stupid monk stuttering and not telling us something the other day?" "Yes, there is a prophecy that only monks, such as Miroku, know about because I and the god of Fate wanted to know exactly when you found out about your role in the future, because anybody but myself would mess it up. I knew it would be females that would be in the prophecy, so I had it written in the scrolls only monks not priestesses use. That is why I told him to keep his mouth shut." "What is the prophecy?" "That evil will rise again only greater and that it will take the two keepers of souls and the jewel, the two knights, and more to seal it away. One of the knights being you, Sesshomaru, the other is Kiya's choice. What that "more" is I haven't a clue, yet. I still have the gift of sight as well as a special blessing by the gods to bestow any knowledge to you, so I might find out more in the future, which I will relate to you." She allowed them to process while as she enjoyed the few hours of temporary life she had been given.

More Review Responses:

Little John of Locksland- Okay, I'm sorry that my mild bashing on Inu, and, in your opinion, lack of realism made you displeased with the story. Kagome's reaction to the blood has been explained. The reason she didn't react the way you think that she should have is because I figure that if I woke up one day and found that my abilities had increased greatly I wouldn't care or try to "fix it". Thus, I figured that Kagome who is the approximately the same age as myself wouldn't care either. I'll take the rest of your review as criticism and roll with the punches. Oh, I'm curious about several things: 1- Do you write fics? And if so, could you tell me where I could read them?

2- Why didn't you give any ideas or offer any help if you thought I had potential.

3- How come you reviewed anonymously, and didn't leave a way for me to contact you?

I'm done with this chapter. I'm tired! I have midterms preparation coming up and I need all my inspiration on school. What does that mean? It means that after December 28 I will not update till January 23, 2003. Okay I'm not sure if the scrolls thing is completely accurate in real life, but in my fic it works. I realize this is a shorter chap, but… This prophecy is what I have been working up to. There may be more Midoriko interactions, but I'm not sure. I have a few more chapters left, but do you want a sequel after this is finished. I'm prepared to do a sequel or finish it with this story. I even have a plot that is forming in my mind for a sequel. Please tell me! Adios! Love to all reviewers and readers who don't review! So…

I repeat again: there is a Method to my Madness even though you may not see it yet.
