Chapter 3

A demon in love

 

“Like?”

“Like…like Inuyasha!” she blurted out.

“What?!” Sango asked her angrily.

“I know…It's just… I - I love him so much! And he doesn't seem to care…and…” she started crying again.

“Kagome…”Sango said softly, “you only like Yuu because he feels like Yash?”

“Yeah…” she sighed, “I know it seems like I'm using Yuu but what can I do? I didn't spend a long time with him but I know he's just like Inuyasha; except he's open about his feelings…”

“Well, doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of Inuyasha-ism?” Sango joked.

“No!” Kagome shook her head, “he's so much more! I can't explain why I love him, I just do!”

“I understand Kagome-chan, but Inuyasha's hurt…”

“Oh, he has no right to be!” she snapped.

“Kagome…”

“No! It's been three years Sango! I waited three long years and I'm done! If he can't give up a dead person that too bad for him!” she started to get up and turned her back to her friend.

 

Walking to the lake, she looked at Sango over her shoulder, “I can't. I could have shown him true love Sangie, unconditional love, but he still wants Kikyo. Kikyo who asked him to change for her. Kikyo who wanted him to become human. He wants Kikyo…” she turned away and walked to the lake, crying her heart out.

“Look, you little - ”

“Inuyasha!” Miroku yelled, “no need for that now!”

“Oh! You infuriate me, you piece of - ” Yuu cried.

“Oh, would you guys stop!?” Sango yelled, walking to them.

 

“How's Kagome?” Inuyasha asked her.

“Oh, you have one nice `osuwari' coming straight at ya!” she snapped angrily.

“What did I do?” he asked.

“Nothing! That's the thing!”

 

Inuyasha was about to ask her what she meant but Kagome's scent hit his nose.

 

“Osuwari.” She said calmly, walking right past him and ignoring his moan of pain.

 

He ate dirt and growled at her. Without a glance at him, she grabbed Yuu's hand and pulled him down for a quick kiss. She smiled at him and whispered something in his ear.

 

Inuyasha could feel the pain and anger take over him. Yuu left and Sango and Miroku went back to bed. Inuyasha's youkai was going to take over, he felt it. How dare she? She was his! She was supposed to be his.

 

Kagome waved to Yuu and Inuyasha was finally able to get up. He growled at her and smelled her anger in the air. It was too hard. He tried his best.

 

“What the hell is wrong with you?!” he yelled.

“Me! Nothing! You're the sick, crazy, selfish - ” he cut her off.

 

He held her arms tightly and growled again. She saw a red light flashing in his eyes and was suddenly scared. Of him? No. Of what could happen to him.

 

“Yash…” she whispered.

“Shut up!” he yelled, her eyes widened in fear.

 

Inuyasha's cheeks were now decorated with purple stripes; his golden orbs were now red. Kagome panicked. This only happened when he was in danger!

 

“Inuyasha…” she tried calmly.

“You're mine!” he growled, his fangs lengthening.

 

Was that pain in his voice? No. Impossible. He sounded broken.

 

He smelled her fear and tried finding peace in her eyes like he normally did. Instead, his eyes traveled to her lips and he remembered the kiss she had shared with Yuu.

 

His fangs lengthened more and Kagome froze, `Oh god!' she thought, `Miroku told me about this…He's going to…mark me?'

 

He tried regaining his senses before he did something stupid, but his youkai was too strong.

 

“Mine!” he growled as he tried to find a spot on her neck. He started sniffing her. She stiffened.

 

“Yash…” she whispered, “please don't…” she said, tears running down her cheeks.

 

Inuyasha immediately stopped. She was crying. His red orbs slowly turned back to amber and his stripes disappeared.

 

He sniffed the air and stared at Kagome. She was scared to tears. `What did I do!?' he asked himself angrily.

 

“Yash!” She exclaimed and threw her arms around his neck, sobbing, “I was so scared!”

“Kagome…” he whispered as he held her tightly.

 

He smelled her fear disappear but was still under the shock that she was actually scared of him. What had he done…?

 

“What happened…?” he asked her sofly.

 

“You…” she paused. `He doesn't want me,' she thought, `he was just in some jealous rage…But he was about to mark me… Does that mean he loves me…?'

 

“You were angry and transformed,” she said.

“Why was I angry?” he asked, then remembered Yuu, “oh…” he sighed, “what did I do?”

 

“Nothing,” she lied.

 

“So why were you so scared…?”

 

“I was scared you would transform completely…” she said, hugging him tightly.

 

He knew she was lying. He did something terrible, or by the looks of it, he was about to. But what?
