Chapter 6

Forever

 

Just as he was leaving the tent, his master's long stretchable arm caught his, “Bring me the one the miko loves…”

Kamuro hesitated before saying, “But there are two, my Lord, and one of them is pretty strong…”

“Do you forget he is a hanyou, Kamuro? Wait, until he turns human, you baka!”

“Yes, my Lord,” Kamuro spat in between gritted teeth.

“Now, move!”

“Take it back!” Kagome repeated.

“I-I take it back…” Yuu said reluctantly.

“Did you really mean that?” she sighed. Inuyasha snorted.

“No…” Yuu whispered, wanting to get back on her good side.

“Apologize to Yash,” she commanded, as if he was 5.

Inuyasha growled, “That's it?” he barked.

“Well, what do you want me to say?” Kagome asked pointedly.

“Go away; I don't like you; I want you to leave us alone…all of these work just fine.”

“Yash!” she cut him off, “It's okay,” she turned to Yuu, “He didn't mean it, right Yuu?”

“No…” Yuu said reluctantly (a/n: Is it me, or do I use this word too often…O.o)

Inuyasha snorted, “Yeah, whatever…”

Kagome smiled happily. Inuyasha stared at her and remembered that she didn't want him. He looked at her sadly, before pulling her into a tight hug, well aware of Yuu's `hey's and Koga's growls.

He held her close, nuzzling her neck and taking in her scent. She was very confused but didn't say a thing. When Yuu tried to get to them, a now calm, though confused Koga held him firmly.

Inuyasha rest his hand on Kagome's waist, with the other one still trying to pull her closer, which was down right impossible now.

“Yash…” Kagome finally whispered.

“Please don't push me away,” Inuyasha pleaded, afraid his voice would break, “just…a minute, please?”

Kagome nodded, relaxing against his chest and hugging him back. She didn't understand him; what he was doing.

She didn't understand.

He was letting go.

Forever.
