Chapter 8
Kamuro Acts

“Shit, shit, shit!!” Inuyasha yelled as he ran in the woods. How could he have been so stupid? Right when he realized his mistake, he had ran as fast as he could to the nearest tree, leaving Kagome to lean on a branch, utterly confused, crying all the tears in her body.

“You...love me?” she asked, crying.

“Please say you love me back, Kagome…” he begged.

“I…I can't…” she sobbed as she lowered her head. She couldn't bear to see the pain in his eyes. “Inuyasha, I know you…You'll go back to Kikyo whenever she comes around…”

“But, Kagome…Kikyo's- ”

“No, Inuyasha,” she sniffled, “Don't say it. You will. I know you. I…I trust you with my life Inuyasha, but not with my heart…”

He felt like someone was ripping his heart out. This was the woman he loved. The woman who was rejecting him at the present moment.

He finally found a good tree, and sat on the highest branch. There, he let the tears fall. Then, he felt something he wished he didn't have to feel once a month…It was the night of the new moon, he was turning human. He quickly jumped off the branch, thinking he'd be stuck if he stayed there. And then he panicked. He couldn't leave the group while he was in this form! He couldn't smell youkai arriving! But he couldn't stay with them either, for two reasons: One, because he didn't want to be with Kagome at the moment, and two, because he did NOT want Yuu to know of his night…

Kamuro walked close to the camp, hoping maybe he could sniff out Inuyasha. And he did, in the woods. He smirked. Inuyasha was in his human form. Now was the time to attack. `Lord Mamoru will be proud of me…' he thought happily. He ran through the woods, until he smelled a female. `This one should be the one who holds the jewel shards…' Oh, how he wanted to take them right there and kill her, but his Lord had strictly ordered him not to kill the girl, she would be of good use to them to find the rest of the shards. He just ran past her, so fast that she didn't notice, crying and all.

Inuyasha was pacing. He was now in his human form. He couldn't protect anyone from danger, even if he was close to them. He couldn't stand leaving Kagome alone, but he couldn't go to her either. He then heard a movement behind him in the bushes. His hand went straight to Tetsussaiga's hilt (A/n: do u really call it that??).

He turned as fast as he could, but he was helpless to the claws that cut his chest. He screamed in agony and tried to do something - anything, that would help him, but the pain was too great. He hated being human…he was so damn weak!

The scream she heard cut through her like a blade. `Inuyasha…!' she thought, worried, getting to her feet, `It's the new moon! Shit!' she ran back to camp to get her bow and arrows, and just yelled “Inuyasha's in trouble!” to Sango, Miroku, Shippo and Yuu before running into the woods. She knew she was losing time, but she was helpless without her bow and arrows. “Inuyasha!” She yelled `Please hang on, love! Please, hang on! For me!'

`Kagome…Don't come…This is a trick…' was his last thought before Kamuro punched him on the stomach and he passed out. Kamuro laughed evilly and lifted him up on his shoulders. He then rose in the air, just when a bunch of humans caught sight of him.

“You stupid humans,” he laughed, “You think you can stop me, don't you?”

“Shut up!” Kagome yelled, “ If you don't let Inuyasha go right now, I'll purify your sorry ass!”

At this, he laughed heartedly, “You won't! You might just hit this filthy half-breed here…”

“I swear if you don't shut up this instant!” she yelled, aiming an arrow at him.

“Don't you dare threaten me! You filthy wench! You stink of him! Now you will listen to me. In an hour, I want you, alone on Mount Hijirai. Bring the shards with you, and we'll let this disgusting half-breed of yours go.”

“She won't be alone!” Another voice yelled. It was Yuu.

“Yeah!” Sango and Miroku agreed.

“Oh, really?” he laughed, “ Fine then,” and with that, he motioned Yuu to come to him, and with a few flicks of his wrists, Yuu was lifted up from the ground and was flying to Kamuro as if in a trance.

“Yuu!” Kagome called after him, “Yuu! YUU!!”

“What the hell are you?” Miroku yelled.

“I'm Kamuro, an eagle demon, with sorcerer powers.” He said as he flew higher. “One hour, wench. Alone. Bring the shards.”

“Inuyasha!! Yuu! Kamuro get the hell back here!” Kagome screamed, “INUYASHAAAA!”

But he was gone now. He was flying to Mount Hijirai. Kagome let out a frustrated scream, and ran into the woods.

“Wait! Kagome!” Sango's voice echoed after her.

“No, I have to do this alone! If I don't, they might kill one of them right away!” she yelled back.

“Kagome…” Miroku sighed. “Don't do anything rash like Inuyasha would…”

But she was already gone.

“Nice job, Kamuro. Looks like you didn't manage to mess it up…”

“Lord Mamoru, I have brought them both, and the girl is going to come here as fast as she can to get them back. I told her to bring the shikon shards and to come alone.”

“Perfect. Let's go to Mount Hijirai, then. She'll have them both waiting for her. We can kill one of them if she refuses to cooperate.”

“Yes, my Lord. I shall do as you say.”

“Good, now set the boys up,” he smirked.

“Yes, my Lord.”

She ran and ran and ran. She was beginning to get very tired, but still she ran, not wanting to arrive too late. She had decided she would give them the Shikon shards if they asked for them. She would do anything to get her hanyou back. How had she been so stupid as to let him pour his heart out without doing the same? She didn't know but she had to find him and get him out of this mess.

`I'll be there in time, Inuyasha…I promise, I won't let them do anything to you, love…'

A/N: I bet you hate it when the text turns bold…lol wow…that was FAST…but pretty short…Its hard for me to write fighting scenes…Im better at kissing lol…Anyway, Please review, and I hope u liked it! I cant believe my storys gonna be so short…This is the eighth chapter…I guess im gonna have like 15 max…
