Chapter 4:

H-he Can Sing?!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kagome ran down the stairs in a black sports bra and red cheerleading shorts. She pulled her hair into a high ponytail and opened the refrigerator. She grabbed a bottle of water and closed the fridge.

 

“I'm goin' for a jog!” Kagome called, walking out the door.

 

Kagome made her way down the stairs. She put her ear buds in her ears, mashed play on her iPod, and started jogging down the sidewalk. Kagome turned the corner, entering into another neighborhood. Inuyasha had just opened the door when he saw Kagome jog by. He stared at her. Damn, she's hot. he thought.

 

“Hey, Kagome!” Inuyasha called, running after her. Kagome kept going. “Hey, wench!”

 

Kagome seemed to be ignoring him. Inuyasha grabbed her arm and pulled her into him. Kagome pushed him and pulled an ear bud out her ear.

 

“What's wrong with you?!” she demanded. “Are you crazy?!”

 

“Are you goin' to the club tonight?” he asked. Kagome gave him a look.

 

“Why do you care?” she asked, drinking some water.

 

“I don't!” Inuyasha yelled. His voice lowered. “Just curious.”

 

“Well, you'll just have to wait and see,” Kagome replied, pouring a bit of water on herself, “won't you?”

 

Kagome turned and continued her jog. Inuyasha growled. Dammit! Why is she so fuckin' hot? he thought as his pants became a bit uncomfortable. Inuyasha watched her.

 

“Dammit!” he cursed, turning to go back inside his house.

Kagome was laying on her bed, flipping through her script, when her cell phone rang. Kagome picked up her phone and glanced at the caller id. It was Sango.

 

“'Sup, San?” Kagome answered.

 

“You'll still goin', right?” Sango asked. “You ain't bailin' on us, right?”

 

“No, I'm not bailin' on ya'll,” Kagome replied.

 

“Good,” Sango said. “We're leavin' at eight, but we'll be at your house at seven to see what you're wearing.”

 

“Okay, see ya' then,” Kagome said.

 

She hung up the phone and went back to flipping through her script. She glanced at her clock. She had fifteen minutes before they got there. Kagome got off her bed to go take a shower. As soon as she got out, the doorbell rang. Kagome walked into her room wrapped in a towel.

 

“Kagome, your friends are here,” Ms. Higurashi called.

 

“Send them up,” Kagome said, cracking the door open.

 

Kagome sat on her bed and towel dried her hair. Sango came in first followed by Rin, Ayame, and Kanna. Rin and Ayame headed straight for Kagome's closet and Sango and Kanna sat beside Kagome on her bed.

 

“I take it the clubs casual,” Kagome smiled, looking at their outfits.

 

“Aww, what gave it away?” Rin asked with a fake pout.

 

“Rin was wearing a pink tank top and blue jean capris, Ayame was wearing a yellow halter top and blue skinny jeans, Kanna was wearing a white spaghetti strap shirt and black shorts, and Sango was wearing a tight purple v-neck tank and black low-rise jeans. Rin handed Kagome some clothes and pushed her into the bathroom. Kagome came out in a red spaghetti strap tank, that reached mid-thigh, and a pair of black boy shorts underneath.

 

“Cute!” Ayame smiled.

 

“Anything special you want done to your hair?” Sango asked.

 

“Surprise me,” Kagome said.

 

Sango and Kanna went to work on her hair. When they finished, Kagome touched her hair. It was in six twists and pulled into a side bun. Kagome smiled and shook her head, Sango looked at her watch.

 

“We've gotta go,” she announced. Kagome grabbed her phone and followed the girls downstairs.

 

“Later, Mom,” Kagome said.

 

“Bye, Ms. Higurashi!” the girls said.

 

“Bye, girls,” Ms. Higurashi smiled. “Have fun.”

 

“I wanna go!” Souta called from upstairs.

 

“Not a chance, squirt!” Kagome said, closing the door.

Kagome followed the girls into Club Fusion. She looked around. It was pretty packed. Kagome looked up to see Inuyasha, Miroku, and Koga coming up to them. They all had on a different color wife beater and baggy blue jeans. Kagome was wearing Inuyasha's favorite color and she looked good in it.

 

“You guys came,” Inuyasha said. His eyes landed on Kagome, “And you brought…her.”

 

“What's wrong with me?” Kagome questioned.

 

“Everything!” Inuyasha said. “It's not enough that you're hot, but you make everyone love you even more `cuz of your talent. I swear if you ruin this for me I will hate you even more than I already do!'

 

Kagome stared at him with wide eyes. Inuyasha turned and walked away. Miroku and Koga looked at each other, and then back at the girls. Kagome looked towards the stage.

 

“Did he just say you're hot?” Miroku grinned.

 

“That's what I heard,” Sango smirked.

 

“I heard hat-ow!” Kanna muttered when Rin elbowed her.

 

“Hey, we gotta go,” Koga said.

 

“Yeah, we'll see ya',” Miroku added.

 

Miroku and Koga headed to the stage. Miroku was on the drums and Koga on the keyboard. Kagome sighed. He hates me? she thought as the girls dragged her to a seat. Kagome stared at the stage as Inuyasha took his place behind the microphone. Koga started playing the keyboard for about fifteen seconds and Miroku entered in on the drums.

 

Inuyasha:

The club erupted into applause. Kagome stared at Inuyasha as she clapped. She looked at Sango.

 

“H-he can sing?!” Kagome questioned.

 

Sango smiled and nodded. Kagome turned back toward the stage and her eyes locked with Inuyasha's. Inuyasha tore his gaze away and left the stage with a shake of his head. Kagome shook her head and sighed. Miroku and Koga looked at each other and walked off the stage. Rin looked at Kagome and nudged Kanna. Kanna looked at Rin, who gestured toward Kagome. Kanna nudged Sango. Sango looked at her.

 

“What?” she questioned. Kanna nodded towards Kagome. Sango looked at her. She lightly tapped Kagome's knee.

 

“Hey, girlie,” Sango said, “what's up?”

 

“Nothin', I'm fine,” Kagome replied.

 

“Why don't you go sing,” Sango suggested.

 

“No, that's okay,” Kagome replied.

 

“You know you want to,” Rin said in a sing-song voice.

 

“Oh, I know I do,” Kagome said, “but I'm not gonna.”

 

“Kags, he doesn't hate you,” Miroku said as he and Koga walked over.

 

“I don't care about that,” Kagome told him. “I'm just not gonna sing.

 

“Well that's too bad,” Koga said, “'cuz the DJ wants you to.”

 

“Are you serious?” Kagome asked.

 

Before either boy could answer, a spotlight landed on her. Her eyes widened. Everyone turned to look at her.

 

“Oh, c'mon!” Kagome groaned.

 

“Hey, we got Kagome Higurashi in the house,” the DJ said, “and she `s gonna sing a lil' somethin' for us.”

 

“No, I'm no,” Kagome snapped.

 

“C'mon, Kagome ,” the DJ said. “Don't leave your fans hangin'.”

 

Kagome sighed and stood up. Everyone cheered. Inuyasha watched her as she walked onto the stage, grabbing a headset from the DJ. She looked at the DJ and nodded. He smiled and started the music. Sango hopped up.

 

“I love this song!” she said. (Please don't stop the music!)

“Us too!” the other girls grinned. (Please don't stop the music!)

“Let's go, Roku!” Sango pulled Miroku onto the dance floor. (Please don't stop the music!)

C'mon, Koga!” Ayame grinned. (Please don't stop the music!)

 

Kanna looked around. Now where was a dance partner? She spotted Inuyasha and smiled. She ran over to him and pulled his arm.

 

“C'mon, Yash,” she said, “let's dance!”

 

Inuyasha grinned as she pulled him on the dance floor.

 

Kagome:

It's getting late

I'm making my way over to my favorite place

(Kagome walked off the stage and onto the floor.)

I gotta get my body moving, shake the stress away

I wasn't looking for nobody when you looked my way

(She looked at Inuyasha and saw that he's watching her.)

Possible candidate, yeah

 

Kanna grinned when she saw the two making eye contact.

(Kagome walked over to Inuyasha as Kanna backs away)

Sango, Rin, and Ayame watched the two as they followed the words of the song.

Inuyasha looked at Kagome. She bit her lip as she danced on him under his golden gaze. Kagome turned around and danced in front of Inuyasha. He pulled her closer. Kagome smirked.

Kagome turned around and looked up at Inuyasha. She backed up from him and went back towards the stage. Inuyasha watched her. She handed the DJ the headset. Kagome turned and bit her lip. She headed over to her friends. Dammit! Inuyasha thought. Could his pants be anymore uncomfortable? He growled and ran a hand through his hair. He walked over to the others.

 

“Kagome, that was so fun!” Sango smiled.

 

“Yeah,” Ayame agreed. “Sing another.”

 

“No, thanks,” Kagome said. “Sorry for stealin' your dance partner, Kanna.”

 

“That's alright,” Kanna smiled, “I brought him out just for you.”

 

Kagome smiled while the others laughed. Inuyasha walked up at that exact moment. He looked around as the laughter died down.

 

“What's do funny?” Inuyasha asked.

 

“Oh, nothing,” Kanna smirked.

 

“Yeah,” Koga grinned, “you came kinda late.”

 

Inuyasha crossed his arms and rolled his eyes. Flo-Rida ft. T-Pain's `Low' started. Kagome smiled.

 

“Ay, this my song!” she said. Inuyasha looked at her.

 

“What can you do to rap?” Inuyasha asked her.

 

“Plenty,” Kagome said. “No one can dance like me!”

 

“Then get up there and show me what you got,” Inuyasha said.

 

“Okay,” Kagome smirked.

 

“You're seriously gonna do this?” Sango asked.

 

“Relax,” Kagome smiled, “I'm just gonna dance.”

 

Sango, Ayame, and Kanna looked at each other as Kagome walked towards the stage. Kagome hopped onto the stage and winked at Inuyasha. She began flipping her ass in a slow motion as she hit the floor; he hands on her knees that were apart from each other. Her hips were rotating all the while. The boys watched her with their mouths slightly open. She moved to the beat of the music `Low' by Flo Rida, dancing rhythmically in front of all the strangers. The boys tilted their heads to the side.

 

“Damn!” they said in unison.

 

“I've gotta get up there,” Koga grinned.

 

“Touch her and I'll end you,” Inuyasha growled.

 

“Alright, alright,” Koga said, putting up his hands.

 

Inuyasha walked through the crowd and up to the stage. He grabbed Kagome's arm and pulled her down.

 

“Hey!” Kagome screamed.

 

Inuyasha pulled her to where the rest of their friends stood. Kagome snatched her arm out of his grip.

 

“Are you crazy?!” Inuyasha yelled. “How could you do that up there?!”

 

“I was just dancin',” Kagome said.

 

“But why up there?!” Inuyasha demanded.

 

“You told me to!” Kagome yelled.

 

“I didn't think you'd do it!” Inuyasha yelled back.

 

“Then why'd you tell me to go up there?!” Kagome demanded.

 

“To prove a point!” Inuyasha snapped.

 

“And what was that?” Kagome questioned.

 

“That you wouldn't do it,” Inuyasha said. “I mean, in front of all those people!”

 

“Why do you even care?!” Kagome wanted to know. Inuyasha growled.

 

“I don't,” Inuyasha snapped. “God, I hate you!”

 

“I hate you too, you half-breed mutt!” Kagome screamed.

 

Inuyasha clenched his teeth, growled, and narrowed his eyes. The others looked back and forth between the two. Kagome and Inuyasha stare at each other.

 

“You're more like Kikyo than I thought,” Inuyasha said.

 

And with that he left. Kagome froze and stared at him as her went. Kanna and Ayame looked at each other. Sango looked toward the door as Koga and Miroku inched out and Rin covered her mouth with her hand. Sango put her arm around Kagome. She rubbed her shoulder.

 

“Hey, you're nothing like Kikyo,” she said.

 

“Yeah,” Kagome said, looking at the ground, “but it still hurts.”

 

Kagome maneuvered out of Sango's grasp and left the club. The other three girls scooted closer to Sango and watched Kagome leave. Rin looked over at Sango.

 

Guess it's time to go, huh?” she asked.

 

“Yeah,” Sango nodded. With a collective sigh, the girls left the club.
