[ P - Pre-Teen ]

They had been walking for days. It was taking forever to locate the
shards. Most of the group didn't mind. Koga didn't, it gave Kagura more
time to recover- she had in fact woken up a few times- and they could
spend the time getting to know the other. Miroku and Sango actually had
enough courage to pull off the rosery on his hand. Sure enough, the
Kazanna had vanished. Miroku had spent a lot of his time shaking hands,
happy that he could use his hand for something other then vacumming!
Inuyasha and kagome were unusually quiet. They were facing the reality of
maybe not seeing each other again, now that their quest was almost over.
They delt with it in their own ways. Kagome spent a lot of time looking
at Inuyasha, trying to fix his face in her memory forever. Inuyasha did
the same, but was less obvious about it. They both put on a brave
front, but they both disliked the fact that they'd only have a little more
time. Kagome cried at night, whenever she was sure inuyasha was asl
eep. Inuyasha spent more time brooding in trees. If their companions
noticed anything different, they never said anything.

It was a quiet day, and everyone was just getting up when they noticed
that Inuyasha seemed a bit more preoccupied then usual. They all knew
what was coming next.
" She's nearby, isn't she?" Kagome asked.
" Yeah." Inuyasha said sadly. He had mixed feelings about seeing Kikyo
again. He loved her- didn't he? He should, she had died for him, after
all...............
But, a trecherous little part of his mind said, She paid at Naraku's
hands. You paid at hers. She still owes you for that. Inuyasha squashed
that thought into oblivian. I love Kikyo, he thought, I'm happy to see
her! When this is over, I'll join her in Hell! His mind made up, he said
" I'm going to go to Kikyo."
" Okay." kagome said. She had expected this, but it still made her sad.
Inuyasha took notice of her tone and said " I'm only going for the
shard! I'll be right back!"

Inuyasha was running very quickly. He wanted to get back soon. As soon
as he saw her, he stopped and called her name.
" Kikyo....." She got up and turned to look at him.
" Inuyasha. You have killed Naraku. Now you may join me in Hell. There
is nothing here for you now."
" Bu-but, I have to finish finding the shards!"
" I'll allow you to find the shards, and I'll even give you mine.
Here." Kikyo said softly, tossing the shard to him.
" Kikyo...." Inuyasha said softly. It was his fault she had died. It
was his fault she was like this.
" Inuyasha, may I embrace you once more before you leave?" Kikyo asked.
" Al- alright."
He moved to hug Kikyo, and she wrapped her arms around him.
" Why don't you come now, Inuyasha? The others can find the shards, and
coming with me is better then living with my memory. Isn't it?"
" I will come with you Kikyo. I couldn't save you 50 years ago, but I
promise I'll come back, and leave with you."
" Goodbye Inuysaha. I'll see you again."
Kikyo left with her soul-stealers, and Inuyasha slowly started running
back to camp.
" Goodbye Kikyo...."

When he got back, Kagome was missing.
" Where's Kagome?" he asked, worried.
" Oh, Kagome left right after you did. She went to the hot springs with
Sango and Kagura. Apparently, she's well enough to move." Miroku said
from his position on the floor, 2 bumps on his head where Koga and
Kohaku had hit him.
Trying to sneak off again, huh? Inuyasha thought. " Oh." was all he
said.
" Yeah, dog-turd! What's the big idea!? I thought you loved Kagome!
What's with you? Why'd you go off to see Kikyo? The pervert told me all
about her! She's DEAD! Face the facts!"
" I actually agree with Koga, Inuyasha. Sango also told me she was
dead." Kohaku said.
" She DIED for ME! She wouldn't be going through any of this had I not
been near her! What do you expect me to do!?"
" Inuyasha?" Shippo asked. " Are the feelings you have for Kikyo love?"
" Wha-? What would you know about love!" Inuasha asked angerily.
" Miroku told me, and Koga gave a lecture."
" Does that make you an expert?"
" No, but it makes me smarter then you!" Shippo stuck out his tounge at
the hanyou.
Inuyasha started racing after him, pounding himin the head.
" WAGH!" Shippo yelled, as bump after bump was added.
" SIT!" Now it was Inuyasha's turn to yell. In all the confusion of
beating up Shippo, he hadn't noticed the girls appear.
" SIT SIT SIT SIT SIT!" Kagome yelled over and over again. " How dare
you be mean to Shippo! SIT!"

Kagome was fuming. Sango and Kagura had grilled her about Kikyo. Sango
knew a little about her, but not a whole lot, and so did Kagura. Kagome
was forced to answer their questions. Eventually, the conversation had
rolled around to the men in the group. Sango admitted that Miroku was
okay, now that he wasn't groping everyone anymore. Kagura admitted that
Koga was really nice, if a biy possessive. They had also gotten Kagome
to admit she liked Inuyasha as more then a friend. She was just sad
that he still loved Kikyo. She was so amd, that she had been planning to
"sit" him anyway, but she got even madder when she found him beating up
Shippo.
" How could you!?" She demanded.
" Lady Kagome, Shippo said that he knew more about lo- things then
Inuyasha did." Miroku cut off the word "love" when he saw Kohaku make a
cutting motion across his throat with his hand. Luckily, Kohaku wasn't
facing the girls, so they didn't notice.
" Well, Inuyasha ahould know better! Shippo was just teasing!"
" I'm sure that that is the case."
" I don't know about you people, but I'm tired!" Kagura said, stifiling
a yawn. "Good night."
Everyone else replied that yes, they were indeed tired, and responded
good night to Kagura. They all went to sleeo, Kagome not even trying to
hid the fact that she was crying tonight.
