Chapter 6
Meanwhile
During the past year Inuyasha pushed himself harder to become a very strong hanyou and the dream of one day beating Sesshomaru fueled his determination. But training did not detour him from his written destiny to find his sorceress mate and destroy the impending evil.
Once he thought he had finally found her. She wears a red hakima with a white shirt, her beauty was undeniable and had coal black hair that was long and touched her butt. Her gait was smooth and every time she moved you could tell that she is graceful. The only problem was she seemed like the coldest person ever her eyes looked right through you and she always answered in the same harsh cold tone. Except for when she is around children, she became more open and smiled she even told stories and let them frolic around her when she collected herbs. But this strange behavior is not unlikely as she is the sole protector of the formidable Shikon Jewel and a strong miko at that. Her guard is always up since many mortals and demons alike who want the possession of the Jewel it is told to behold amazing powers both for good and bad. This woman's name is Kikyo.
It was a bright sunny day that Inuyasha first met this alluring woman. Kikyo was gathering herbs and Inuyasha was passing by on his quest to find his mate. But he stopped as he grew near because he was drawn to her scent just like the other wench he met a few months ago. He made sure to follow her knowing his location at all times because he could sense the Shikon Jewel and understood that she was the protector and must be very strong. After the children were bored and left, she left as well to dry her herbs.
Inuyasha followed her as much as possible during the next month. Making sure to stay out of eyesight but close enough so he could stalk her. One day near the end of the month she called out to him.
“I know your there and that you have been following me for quite some time now.” She said icily.
Inuyasha was stunned but quickly came up with a retort “What do you mean wench I come only for your Jewel and power.”
“Oh really!” She replied, still as cold as ever. Then how come you have been stalking me. Why not just kill me and be done with it?”
Inuyasha didn't know what would be a good answer so he settled down on the ground and sulked.
“You must be the infamous Inuyasha the hanyou destined to save our poor world.” She continued mockingly
“So what if I am?” Inuyasha questioned.
“Shouldn't you be out searching for your mate and getting stronger by killing?” She mocked.
“What I do is none of your business besides I'm here to steal the Shikon Jewel from you and get stronger.” Inuyasha replied
“Well continue on you meager quest insolent half-breed.” Kikyo bit back.
That statement hurt because even though Inuyasha was the famous half breed that was supposed to bring peace and happiness to the world people still treated him no better than a beggar. They always taunted him with insults such as half breed. Also hurting him when he was young and weak. He had no friends because the demons hated him for being mixed and therefore ruining their proud and tough clan. The mortals were no better half scared of what he could do and the other upset as well for tainting their fine race. But he did have the privilege of being the chosen one so no one could taunt and hurt him in front of others always in the back alleyways and hidden nooks.
But soon both miko and hanyou forgot the rude remarks they said to each other and became nicer enjoying a sunset and the comfort of the others presence.
One bright warm day they were watching the kids play in the fields when Kikyo spoke.
“Inuyasha do you want children?” Kikyo asked questionly
“I dunno maybe someday pups would be nice.” Inuyasha answered in a dreamy state.
“Why don't you make a wish on the jewel, to become human so the jewel will disappear and we could spend our lives together?” Kikyo asked impulsively.
“But the prophecy says that I have to marry a sorceress and defeat an evil. If I become human I won't be strong enough.” Inuyasha mused
“Your right I was acting impulsively I'm sorry.” Kikyo quickly said
“But what if the prophecy is wrong and you aren't the one to make peace, or there isn't an evil just that you must marry a sorceress after all I am one.” Kikyo asked again.
“Even so I highly doubt that, what is the chance that both sides got the prophecy wrong and had the same warning/message. Besides there is a rumor that the prophet said my father would be the one to have a hanyou child and no one is dead yet.” He laughed bitterly
“I must go there are other chores I must finish.” And with that Kikyo brushed the dirt off her hakima and left.
That day both of them pondered the same question.
`Perhaps I'm destined with Kikyo/Inuyasha and we are met to be together.
I'll leave you with that, a lame cliffy I know but I'm tired. The blue REVIEW button is itching to be pressed. The next chappie is about Inu and Kikyo but with some kagome as well.
