Kagome: **creeps up on Chailyn and grabs her tail** hahaha!
Chailyn: **winces and turns to Kagome** what's up? And why must you do that to my tail?!
Inu: get over it she does it to my ears all the time, and I yell but it does no good
Chailyn: when the hell'd you get here?
Inu: I came in with the nutcase
Kagome: Inuyasha? **he gulps and tries to run** SIT!!!!
Sesshoumaru: When will this Sesshoumaru make his appearance?
Chailyn: **sighs** not for a while Sesshou. If you people would let me do my work then I could sleep and get an early start! But NO!

Chapter One
As I opened my eyes, disorientation flooded my sense till I saw the soft blue of the walls. `My room, how did I get here?' All I could remember was sealing the well, finding my mom, and crying. `I must have blacked out while crying, but how'd I get up here?'
~*Your mother will answer all your questions soon enough little one.*~
`Who are you?' I remember hearing her when I stood there watching the bastard; but I never got a name.
~*As I said, your mother will answer all your questions soon, I hope.*~ I was about to ask something more when I heard a knock on my door.
"Yes?" dear Kami! I sounded horrid, the door swung open slowly to reveal my mother with a try of food and a pitcher of water.
"Are you okay honey?" she asked once the try sat on my desk and a glass of water in my hands. Not trusting my voice I nodded and took a long drink from the glass. It felt wonderful pouring down my throat. She sat on the edge of my bed with the pitcher in hand.
"I have a few questions momma," my voice cracked, forcing me to drink some more water after she refilled it.
"Ask away dear."
"Well, to start with, how long was I asleep?"
"Two days," she said with a sad smile. Her worry shone in her dark depths, making me feel guilty for worrying her yet again.
"How did I get up here? Grandpa and Souta aren't strong enough." Ms. Sakura Higurashi's smile reflected a bit of her pride, but was swamped by her ever present concern. Yet she didn't answer her daughter's question.
"I'm guessing you have more questions, one's that mayhap you're a little embarrassed to ask?" With a nod from Kagome she laughed slightly. "You most likely have one about a little voice in your head ne? And how it is that I can always tell the truth of your emotions? Or how I knew what he was doing to you?"
"Hai momma," Kagome whispered meekly at her mother's anger toward the last question.
"Don't be afraid of me or ashamed of yourself, ever you hear me?" Sakura's voice was soft and encouraging as she spoke. "You come from a proud family, which comes from a dying race unfortunately." Kagome's confusion filled her light sapphire eyes and she tilted her head slightly to the side; making Sakura giggle.
"Well, I guess sense your almost 18 now would be a good time to tell you the truth." Sakura stood from the edge of the bed and retrieved Kagome's desk chair to sit comfortably. "I made you some breakfast as well, here," she said placing the tray on Kagome's lap. "Comfy?" With Kagome's nod she starts to talk as Kagome ate.
"You've always felt different right?" again a nod, "Well, that's because you are. But in a good way honey, you see the fact that you have a voice in your mind is proof that you are different, that and your eyes. I could never figure that part out, but that's not important right now. I doubt you realize it, but Oji-Chan is the only human in this household?" With a slight laugh at her daughter's look of awe, Sakura continued. "I figured you wouldn't of, and before you ask we are not youkai. Sort of anyways; have you ever heard the legend of the Kami-creatures?"
"Yes momma, but that's just what they are, aren't they?" Kagome said placing down her chopsticks. With a shake of her head Sakura said.
"They're very much alive; in fact you're looking at a Kami-Dragon right now." Kagome's eyes went wide at her mother's statement.
"But that means..."
"Hai, you are one as well."
"And Souta?"
"Sadly no, if I had mated with another Kami-Dragon he would be, but because I mated a youkai, that's what your brother is." Kagome looked puzzled.
"That's a strange thing momma. But it some how makes sense." Sakura just laughed at her daughters words.
"I guess in a way it does, but it sure confused me when I was your age."
"Exactly how old are you momma? What type of youkai was dad?" Sakura couldn't stop smiling today as she answered her daughter. Maybe it was the fact that she finally had someone to talk to after all these years.
"Old enough to know not to answer that question and your Father is 3/4 inu and 1/4 kitsune youkai, as is your brother."
"Dad is alive?"
"Hai, but before you get angry about him not being here, let me tell you he wanted to be. But it was too," Sakura pause trying to find a good word, but sighed in defeat. "It was simply too dangerous. Don't ask about the danger, you'll find out from him when you find him." Standing she took the tray from Kagome and stood, "Now why don't we get you in the shower and I'll explain the rest later." Kagome nodded in agreement.
"But just one last question?"
"Sure,"
"The voice?"
"Oh," Sakura laughed slightly. "That's your guardian, if memory serves me; your guardian is Mido-san"
"Mido-san?"
"Yes dear, you remember the legend of Midoriko don't you?" Kagome's jaw dropped open in shock.
"Midoriko, the legendary miko who created the Shikon no Tama, is my guardian?" Sakura smiled and used to fingers to lift her daughters jaw shut and nodded.
"Now go take a shower, she'll explain about herself when you have a few minutes alone.' With that said Sakura walked out carrying the tray and shut the door.
I stood in the shower, the warm almost hot water pounding against my still tired body. `I can not believe this, the legendary Midoriko is my guardian angel.' My mind was swimming still, and surprisingly that was the only thing that had set my mind in this state. I didn't really care that I wasn't human; it actually explained a lot of things. Like my tolerance with demons, and the fact that I have blue eyes instead of the typical brown, and why my powers always seemed limitless but yet bound.
~*Your powers were bound with good reason you know this right girl?*~
'And just why was that Mido-san?'
~*You were a danger to yourself as a child, and to everyone, your mother
went through lots of trouble to bind you, it took the Shikon plus a good deal of power from both your parents.*~
`That reminds me, you said I was not Kikyo's reincarnation how is that possible considering I had the Shikon in me?' I could hear the reluctance in Midoriko's voice.
~*Well you were born after she died, but you didn't posses the Shikon at that time. In fact Kikyo's real reincarnation gave it to you to help your mother.'~
"Who is Kikyo's real reincarnation?'
~*A young woman that was named YuJie.*~
`Was? She's dead?'
~*Hai, I don't know how she died, but I felt her leave this world a few years before you fell in the well.*~ I could feel guilt wash over me, what if because she didn't have the Shikon, she couldn't stay alive.
`What if it was my fault…?'
~*Don't feel guilty, she had told your mother and father that she did what she did because she wanted to know that the Shikon was safe. And believe me my dear, there is no safer place for something like that, then with a Kami-creature.*~
`But I lost it years ago, remember?'
~*Yes, but you are trying to get them back.*~
`That doesn't change anything! I failed her!' I could feel my body slipping to the shower floor. All my enthusiasm left me in that moment, and then in my mind's eye I could see images flashing. Focusing on them, I saw images of those that I've crossed paths with over the last three years. Sango, Miroku, Shippou, Kilala, Kouga, Kaede, all the various humans and demons; and Inuyasha.
~*Are you willing to see them die? Those who you have helped and given hope to? You're the only reason they are alive to this day. You never gave up hope and because of that neither have they, you are their hope Kagome. Now rise and face your mother, you need to begin your training.*~
She was right, I needed to stop feeling so helpless and take up the power that had been hidden from me for so many years. Become the warrior I was born to be, and get the Shikon no Tama back so that I can hold true to YuJie's wish.
"Thank you Midoriko-sama." She whispered
