Chapter 3:Battle To The Death

Then Kagome got up as if it had not effected her and spit out her blood on the ground.She smirked and straightened her standing position."The battle is on Naraku!"Kagome yelled to him as she charged at him with neck-breaking speeds,both of her claws out-stretched and glowing silver again.
Naraku merely smirked as he watched Kagome try to attack him again.He let out a few of his demons to attack her as he watched them fly towards Kagome and making loud ugly screeches.All of them were ugly as hell and they gave off a foul disgusting odor.Kagome's eyes widened before she decided to strike them instead of her intended target.So Kagome rushed at the demons and killed them all with a slash of her claws as she ran a straight through them.After all of them were killed,Kagome stood there,flicking off blood from her claws lazily. Kagome had had her eyes locked on her claws but brought them up slowly to meet with Naraku's hate filled ones.
"What's the matter Naraku?Are you surprised at my strength?"Kagome asked him as she smirked when Naraku narrowed his eyes at her.
"As if someone as pathetic as you could surprise me!"Naraku yelled at her with pure malice as he let out yet another energy blast at her.
Kagome smirked even wider as she erected a barrier around herself.A shimmering silver barrier came around her as the blast hit the barrier.The blast didn't even waver the barrier as it instead bounced back to Naraku.Naraku's eyes widened in surprise and fear as the blast came full force at him and sent him backwards at least twelve feet,knocking him temporarily unconscience.The blast had taken a lot out of him because the blast had taken out his demon parts and all that lay on the cold hard ground was his human body half.
Kagome noticed that she had knocked Naraku unconscience and decided to take her oppurtunity.But she had to react quickly because she felt that Naraku wouldn't stay down for long.I have to get the jewel out of Naraku or he'll just regenerate his body back again!Kagome thought as she rushed over to Naraku's body,which was already pulsing with new tentacles and appendages.(sp?)Kagome scanned her eyes over the pale and exposed flesh until she found the glow of the jewel.Thejewel was on his back.And it was on the head of the spider-shaped burn mark,too.(DEA:How ironic.)Except,it wasn't the light pink it usually was,it was an ink black glow,showing her that it was heavily tainted with evil.But she had no time to think about that as she saw that Naraku was starting to awaken.Quickly,Kagome plunged her claw deep within Naraku's flesh and started to feel around for the jewel.It took her about a moment,but her fingers finally found the smooth surface of the almost completed jewel.Naraku had almost every shard after he had taken the shards from the Band of Seven.But he didn't have all of them.The shards in Kouga's legs and in Kohaku's back remained,along with a few others that remained hidden.
Kagome closed her fingers around the jewel and brought her hand back up.Her hand was coated in Naraku's blood and it reeked of his foul scent.And with her hand being brought up,it had released his miasma,which had filled her nose and filled her body with his poison. Kagome coughed some before jumping a little away from Naraku's miasma.
Naraku,in the meanwhile,was trying to regain back some of his power.But he was failing because nearly nine tenths of his power came from the jewel,and without it,he was weak,no matter how much he hated to admit it.Damn that miko!S-She took away the jewel!I MUST get it back!Naraku thought angrily as he tried to get up,but failed in doing so and only tp succeed in falling back down,causing him to spit out blood.
After the smell of miasma was gone from her nose and was gone from the area,Kagome slowly walked over to Naraku.She took long, slow strides to the fallen half-demon as she approached him.Kagome had gotten to Naraku and bent down to talk to the disgusting half-breed that had caused her and her friends so much trouble and remorse.
"Naraku..."Kagome began coldly with venom laced in her voice."This is how you truly are,isn't it?A weak half-breed."Kagome told him in the same voice as she looked to Naraku with anger filled eyes.
Naraku just glared at her and smirked again."Heh,stupid...girl.Inuyasha...is a half-breed too...don't forget.A-Are you calling...him weak also?"Naraku asked her as he smirked even wider.
"No Naraku.You're wrong.Inuyasha will ALWAYS be stronger than you.Inuyasha dosen't need the jewel to be strong,unlike you do. You need to jewel to be strong and don't rely on your own power.You're just like all the other demons we've fought.Weak.You all need the jewel to be stronger,and Inuyasha defeated all of them without using one measly shard."Kagome,again,said coldly to Naraku.
Naraku merely glared at her as he coughed up some more blood.For once in his life,he was at a loss for words.What Kagome said to him was the horrible truth.He knew that he was weak,and without the power of the jewel,he might as well be as weak as a spider.So Naraku couldn't reply to this.He couldn't deny the truth.So he just settled with glaring at Kagome,which had no effect on her.
Kagome smirked when she saw that Naraku didn't reply to her this time.So she straightened her standing position and loomed over Naraku,her eyes cold and locked on him.
"The truth is hard,isn't it?"Kagome said coldly with venom laced in her voice.She gave him one last glare and turned around and jumped to her friends.
Her friends just stared at Kagome in complete amazement.Kagome,their sweet Kagome,had just broken down their enemy in a few words!But they got out of her shock when Kagome's voice drifted to their ears.
"Guys,Naraku is weak now,so if we all attack him at once,we should bring him down."Kagome said as she looked at all of them nod at her.
Kagome nodded back and turned around to face Naraku.Kagome then lifted her right hand and her bow appeared in her hand.Kagome pulled the string and a single arrow appeared in her left hand.Kagome locked her position on Naraku's body as a bead of sweat trickled down the side of her face from concentration
.
The others were getting ready to attack also.Inuyasha had his sword ready and was in battle stance behind Kagome.Miroku had thrown his staff to Sango,who had tied it down to her Hiraikotsu,and had her feet spread apart,her right hand holding the giant boomerang that was over her shoulder.Kouga had also gotten in a battle stance ready to attack,just in case if he was needed.And last but definately not least,Sesshomaru had his Tokijin ready for attack.
Kagome looked over her shoulder to her friends and nodded to them with an encouraging smile on her face.They nodded back to her and she turned her head back to Naraku,who hadn't gotten up from the ground.Kagome narrowed her eyes,then in a loud booming voice,shouted:
"ATTACK!"
And with that one word,everyone unleashed their most powerful attack they had.Inuyasha had brought down his Tetsusaiga and bellowed,"DIAMOND SPEAR!"His battle cry echoed through the strom as he unleashed a wave of razor sharp diamonds.Sango let out a battle cry of her own and threw her combined Hiraikotsu with Miroku's staff at Naraku with amazing speed.Sesshomaru raised his arm and brought down his all powerful attack,the Dragon Strike.But Kagome alone did not attack.She waited for about a moment and then concentrated all of her energy into this one,last arrow.Kagome glowed a bright pink and silver as her arrow was starting to get unbrittled with power.When she finally felt she had enough power,she released her arrow.The arrow was engulfed in a blinding pink light and whizzed by all the other attacks and hit Naraku head on.The other attacks shortly followed and destroyed the rest of Naraku.But with his destruction,brought a bright white light that blinded them temporarily.Of course,while they were all blinded,Naraku took some of the last of his powers and exploded,sending everyone flying backwards and into a wall.
Eventually,the light receeded to reveal that Naraku was still alive.But only by barely.He had used his barrier to block it,but with the strength of the attacks combined,the barrier did little to protect him,but it did.
Everyone else slowly got up from the being thrown and threw their glares to Naraku.The bastard still wasn't dead!And they were all angry about this,especially two certain dog demons.Both Inuyasha and Sesshomaru let out a deep growl from their chests and their eyes were flashing back from red to gold.But with the help of their swords,they regained control.But Sesshomaru had acted a bit differently then Inuyasha did.The Tetsusaiga merely stopped him from transforming,but the Teseiga was starting to pulse.Sesshomaru turned his head to the sword and raised a perfectly shaped eyebrow at it.Teseiga?Do you wish to be unsheathed?Sesshomaru thought as he resheathed his Tokijin.Then Sesshomaru unsheathed one of his father's legendary swords,the Teseiga.He held it up to him and he watched as it started to glow a bluish-black.Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes at it and slashed the air with the Teseiga.However,his eyes widened considerably when he saw a black crescent shape sailed through the air and towards Naraku.But the real surprise came when that when the crescent went through Naraku,he disappeared!They all looked in befuddlement and confusion as they looked to Sesshomaru,then to Teseiga,then to where Naraku just was.Now,one thing was on their mind and one thing showed on their face.And it was:WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED!?As they were all just too stunned to speak.
Kagome,however,was brought out of this befuddlement when she felt herself grow weak.Kagome felt her powers slipping away from her fingers and her life going along with it.She also could feel that her knees were buckling down as she eventually fell to the ground on her knees.W-What's happening to me?Why do I suddenly feel so-But Kagome's thoughts were cut off as she slipped into unconscience,her body falling to the ground with a soft thud.
Everyone gasped as they watched Kagome transform back into her human self and fall to the ground.Inuyasha immediately went over to her side to check to see if she was alright.When Inuyasha turned her over,he gasped in shock and in fear.There,where Naraku had attacked her,was her wound and it was bleeding profounsly(sp?) and looked like it wasn't going to stop.But that wasn't the worst.The wound looked to have some sort of white substance coming out of it.Which could only mean one thing.Kagome's body was filled with Naraku's miasma.NO!K-Kagome!S-She...NO!Inuyasha thought in fury as he held Kagome close to his chest,as if she would just die and disappear any moment.
The others just stood in shock as they saw the extent of Kagome's wound.They all just looked in fear as they saw Kagome's face go pale all over again and heard her labored and strained breaths.Kagome was in danger now and they all knew it.If they didn't get Kagome to Kaede and soon,they would lose their friend forever.So Miroku decided to tell Inuyasha that they had to get Kagome to Kaede as soon as they could.
Miroku hestiantly stepped up to Inuyasha and placed his right hand on Inuyasha's shoulder and saw it tense.Miroku sighed as he told Inuyasha what he needed to be told.
"Inuyasha,we have to go.If we don't get Kagome to Kaede soon,we will lose her.So come and let's leave."Miroku said to him as he watched Inuyasha nod to him.
Miroku sighed again as he went to retrieve Sango's Hiraikotsu and his staff.He first unstrapped his staff and then grabbed the Hiraikotsu with his left hand.But he found that it was a little difficult,because when he tried to lift it,he nearly fell back over on his back.Gah!This thing is heavy!How does Sango manage to make it look so easy?Miroku shouted in his mind as he managed to pull it over his shoulder and walk back over to Sango.(DEA:Sorry to interrupt!But that was one of my favorite lines in the first movie!)
Sesshomaru watched Inuyasha pick up Kagome and thought he just caught the scent of...fear?Regret?My brother's scent is mixed in with fear and regret...hmmm.Does he harbor feelings for Kagome?Sesshomaru pondered as he looked to Inuyasha who had come over to them with Kagome wrapped safely in his arms.Sesshomaru nodded in satisfaction that Kagome was safe and decided to announce his departure.
"Take my sincerest apologizies,but I must report back to the Western Lands.I must make sure that Jaken is taking care of Rin." Sesshomaru said to them all as he was about to summon his demon cloud,but was stopped by Miroku's voice.
"Lord Sesshomaru,I thought that your Tokijin was broken.How did you repair it?And what was that attack that you used to take out Naraku?"Miroku asked him as he took a step foward to the tall demon lord.
Sesshomaru turned his head to Miroku and told him calmly,"The answer to your first question,monk,is that I had Totosai repair my Tokijin.The second answer is one I cannot give to you.Now,if that is all of your questions,I will take my leave."Sesshomaru turned his head back around and was about to summon his demon cloud again when he picked up the scent of the old blacksmith.Sesshomaru sighed in frustration to himself and looked to the sky.What is it with these interruptions?Sesshomaru thought as he finally sighted Totosai riding on Momo(his cow thingy)and flying towards them.When Totosai had gotten near enough to them and the ground,he jumped off and walked to them.
Totosai,however,didn't stop in front of them,he instead stopped in front of Sesshomaru,who had just glared at him.Totosai and Sesshomaru stared at each other for a few minutes until Totosai said,
"Sesshomaru,let me see the Teseiga."Totosai said as he reached for the hilt of the sword at Sesshomaru's side.
BONK!
As you can guess,Sesshomaru gave Totosai a good whack on the head for trying to touch 'his' sword.Sesshomaru may despise the Teseiga,but he still did not allow anyone to touch it.So Totosai stood there,craddling the new bump on his head,and looked up to Sesshomaru with fearful eyes.Sesshomaru just glared at him and his look clearly said 'touch-my-sword-again-and-die.'
"Sesshomaru!I am serious!I need to take a look at Teseiga!"Totosai spoke,or he tried to anyway,in a determined voice.
Sesshomaru gave him one more glare and said,"Fine."Sesshomaru then took out the Teseiga and put it in front of the old man."But if you touch it,it will be your death."Sesshomaru said coldly as Totosai snacthed his hand behind his back and whistled innocently.After a few moments,Totosai regained his composure and looked closely at the old sword.This went on for about a few minutes until Sesshomaru had gotten irriated.
"I suggest you quicken your pace,that is unless you do not wish to keep your head."Sesshomaru said coldly with warning in his voice.
Totosai nodded mekely and then stood at his full height.He looked at the sword for a few more moments before clearing his throat to get everyone's attention.
"Ahh,yes.The Meidou Zangetsuha attack.A very powerful attack.I knew that this was going to happen when I reforged the Teseiga." Totosai told them with his eyes closed and nodding his head.But soon,a iron grip was around his neck,cutting off his air supply.
"And you did not bother to tell me about this?"Sesshomaru said icily as he tightened his grip even more so on the old man's neck.
Totosai struggled to breathe as he tried to take in some much needed oxygen,but failed because of the constricting hand around his neck.But he soon felt Sesshomaru's tight losen around his neck and greedily sucked in the air that he needed.
Sesshomaru looked to Kagome when he had heard her try to contact him through her mind.It was weak and her voice was barely audible,but it was there.So he turned to Kagome and the others,nodded to them,and left on his summoned demon cloud to the West after he dropped the old demon.
Kagome...was the one thing on their mind as they took off towards Kaede's hut,leaving the poor old man behind.Speaking of which...
"Hey!Where'd everybody go?"Totosai asked as he had finally gotten enough air to his satisfaction.He looked this way and that but couldn't find them.Totosai just shrugged and walked up to Momo.
"Come on,Momo.Let's head home."He told his three-eyed cow as he got onto it's back.Momo mooed once and then took off to the sky, heading for their home.

Everyone else slowly got up from the being thrown and threw their glares to Naraku.The bastard still wasn't dead!And they were all angry about this,especially two certain dog demons.Both Inuyasha and Sesshomaru let out a deep growl from their chests and their eyes were flashing back from red to gold.But with the help of their swords,they regained control.But Sesshomaru had acted a bit differently then Inuyasha did.The Tetsusaiga merely stopped him from transforming,but the Teseiga was starting to pulse.Sesshomaru turned his head to the sword and raised a perfectly shaped eyebrow at it.Teseiga?Do you wish to be unsheathed?Sesshomaru thought as he resheathed his Tokijin.Then Sesshomaru unsheathed one of his father's legendary swords,the Teseiga.He held it up to him and he watched as it started to glow a bluish-black.Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes at it and slashed the air with the Teseiga.However,his eyes widened considerably when he saw a black crescent shape sailed through the air and towards Naraku.But the real surprise came when that when the crescent went through Naraku,he disappeared!They all looked in befuddlement and confusion as they looked to Sesshomaru,then to Teseiga,then to where Naraku just was.Now,one thing was on their mind and one thing showed on their face.And it was:WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED!?As they were all just too stunned to speak.
Kagome,however,was brought out of this befuddlement when she felt herself grow weak.Kagome felt her powers slipping away from her fingers and her life going along with it.She also could feel that her knees were buckling down as she eventually fell to the ground on her knees.W-What's happening to me?Why do I suddenly feel so-But Kagome's thoughts were cut off as she slipped into unconscience,her body falling to the ground with a soft thud.
Everyone gasped as they watched Kagome transform back into her human self and fall to the ground.Inuyasha immediately went over to her side to check to see if she was alright.When Inuyasha turned her over,he gasped in shock and in fear.There,where Naraku had attacked her,was her wound and it was bleeding profounsly(sp?) and looked like it wasn't going to stop.But that wasn't the worst.The wound looked to have some sort of white substance coming out of it.Which could only mean one thing.Kagome's body was filled with Naraku's miasma.NO!K-Kagome!S-She...NO!Inuyasha thought in fury as he held Kagome close to his chest,as if she would just die and disappear any moment.
The others just stood in shock as they saw the extent of Kagome's wound.They all just looked in fear as they saw Kagome's face go pale all over again and heard her labored and strained breaths.Kagome was in danger now and they all knew it.If they didn't get Kagome to Kaede and soon,they would lose their friend forever.So Miroku decided to tell Inuyasha that they had to get Kagome to Kaede as soon as they could.
Miroku hestiantly stepped up to Inuyasha and placed his right hand on Inuyasha's shoulder and saw it tense.Miroku sighed as he told Inuyasha what he needed to be told.
"Inuyasha,we have to go.If we don't get Kagome to Kaede soon,we will lose her.So come and let's leave."Miroku said to him as he watched Inuyasha nod to him.
Miroku sighed again as he went to retrieve Sango's Hiraikotsu and his staff.He first unstrapped his staff and then grabbed the Hiraikotsu with his left hand.But he found that it was a little difficult,because when he tried to lift it,he nearly fell back over on his back.Gah!This thing is heavy!How does Sango manage to make it look so easy?Miroku shouted in his mind as he managed to pull it over his shoulder and walk back over to Sango.(DEA:Sorry to interrupt!But that was one of my favorite lines in the first movie!)
Sesshomaru watched Inuyasha pick up Kagome and thought he just caught the scent of...fear?Regret?My brother's scent is mixed in with fear and regret...hmmm.Does he harbor feelings for Kagome?Sesshomaru pondered as he looked to Inuyasha who had come over to them with Kagome wrapped safely in his arms.Sesshomaru nodded in satisfaction that Kagome was safe and decided to announce his departure.
"Take my sincerest apologizies,but I must report back to the Western Lands.I must make sure that Jaken is taking care of Rin." Sesshomaru said to them all as he was about to summon his demon cloud,but was stopped by Miroku's voice.
"Lord Sesshomaru,I thought that your Tokijin was broken.How did you repair it?And what was that attack that you used to take out Naraku?"Miroku asked him as he took a step foward to the tall demon lord.
Sesshomaru turned his head to Miroku and told him calmly,"The answer to your first question,monk,is that I had Totosai repair my Tokijin.The second answer is one I cannot give to you.Now,if that is all of your questions,I will take my leave."Sesshomaru turned his head back around and was about to summon his demon cloud again when he picked up the scent of the old blacksmith.Sesshomaru sighed in frustration to himself and looked to the sky.What is it with these interruptions?Sesshomaru thought as he finally sighted Totosai riding on Momo(his cow thingy)and flying towards them.When Totosai had gotten near enough to them and the ground,he jumped off and walked to them.
Totosai,however,didn't stop in front of them,he instead stopped in front of Sesshomaru,who had just glared at him.Totosai and Sesshomaru stared at each other for a few minutes until Totosai said,
"Sesshomaru,let me see the Teseiga."Totosai said as he reached for the hilt of the sword at Sesshomaru's side.
BONK!
As you can guess,Sesshomaru gave Totosai a good whack on the head for trying to touch 'his' sword.Sesshomaru may despise the Teseiga,but he still did not allow anyone to touch it.So Totosai stood there,craddling the new bump on his head,and looked up to Sesshomaru with fearful eyes.Sesshomaru just glared at him and his look clearly said 'touch-my-sword-again-and-die.'
"Sesshomaru!I am serious!I need to take a look at Teseiga!"Totosai spoke,or he tried to anyway,in a determined voice.
Sesshomaru gave him one more glare and said,"Fine."Sesshomaru then took out the Teseiga and put it in front of the old man."But if you touch it,it will be your death."Sesshomaru said coldly as Totosai snacthed his hand behind his back and whistled innocently.After a few moments,Totosai regained his composure and looked closely at the old sword.This went on for about a few minutes until Sesshomaru had gotten irriated.
"I suggest you quicken your pace,that is unless you do not wish to keep your head."Sesshomaru said coldly with warning in his voice.
Totosai nodded mekely and then stood at his full height.He looked at the sword for a few more moments before clearing his throat to get everyone's attention.
"Ahh,yes.The Meidou Zangetsuha attack.A very powerful attack.I knew that this was going to happen when I reforged the Teseiga." Totosai told them with his eyes closed and nodding his head.But soon,a iron grip was around his neck,cutting off his air supply.
"And you did not bother to tell me about this?"Sesshomaru said icily as he tightened his grip even more so on the old man's neck.
Totosai struggled to breathe as he tried to take in some much needed oxygen,but failed because of the constricting hand around his neck.But he soon felt Sesshomaru's tight losen around his neck and greedily sucked in the air that he needed.
Sesshomaru looked to Kagome when he had heard her try to contact him through her mind.It was weak and her voice was barely audible,but it was there.So he turned to Kagome and the others,nodded to them,and left on his summoned demon cloud to the West after he dropped the old demon.
Kagome...was the one thing on their mind as they took off towards Kaede's hut,leaving the poor old man behind.Speaking of which...
"Hey!Where'd everybody go?"Totosai asked as he had finally gotten enough air to his satisfaction.He looked this way and that but couldn't find them.Totosai just shrugged and walked up to Momo.
"Come on,Momo.Let's head home."He told his three-eyed cow as he got onto it's back.Momo mooed once and then took off to the sky, heading for their home.

Christy:Woopee...(makes a sarcastic circle with finger)
DEA:Shut it,Christy!
Christy:(gets an idea)Shut what?This door?(shuts door)
DEA:NO!
Christy:Fine.How about this toothpaste bottle?(shuts the top)
DEA:SHUT YOUR TRAP!
Christy:Which one?
DEA:GRRRRRRRRRRRR!(stomps out of room)
