The Untouchables Part 2

Kagome could have sworn she had heard Sango screaming.

"INUYASHA?!?!?!?!?"

Kagome sat up, rubbing her head. It hurt. She felt a little dizzy from the fall. Getting up slowly, she began to think. 'That was defiantly Sango. What could have happened?' When she was finally able to stand up straight, she began walking back toward the pond.

"Sango!" Inu Yasha started to panic. "I don't understand. I th-thought you were Kagome. I swear it!" Panic was running thru Inu Yasha's voice.

'Inu Yasha? Did he do something to Sango?' Kagome thought, while walking closer to the pond.

"Kagome? How could you have thought I was Kagome?!?!?" Kagome was close enough to the pond to see Inu Yasha and Sango.

Sango was scrambling to get her robes on. She was red from head to toe. Kagome wasn't sure if it was because she was embarrassed or angry.

Inu Yasha was crouched on the ground, his back toward Sango. His face was redder than his clothing. Kagome was positive his was from embarrassment. 'What could have happened…?'

"Yeah I thought you were Kagome! I can't really see clearly right now thanks to Kaede!" The half-demon practically screamed back at Sango. Lowering his voice a little, he then continued. "Besides you started it."

Kagome was completely confused now. She couldn't figure out what was going on.

"I started it? I did not! I would never have!!!" Sango screamed back viscously. "I was sleeping!"

Inu Yasha stood up quickly. Turned and faced, the half dressed, Sango. "It sure didn't feel like you were sleeping to me when you kissed me!!"

"No way.. They couldn't have been. Could they?" Kagome's voice came out barely audible to even herself.

But Inu Yasha had heard it anyway. His head whipped around in the direction he heard Kagome's voice coming from. She had a broken look on her face.

"Kag-" Inu Yasha had been cut off by Kagome's next words. They had stung his ears and made a lump form in his throat. Kagome turned and ran toward the well. Inu Yasha knew he should follow. He knew he had to tell her what had really happened, but his body wouldn't allow him to move.

"Kagome! Don't go!" Sango screamed after the fading shape of her best friend. "Kagome wait please! Inu Yasha go after her!"

Inu Yasha didn't even acknowledge Sango. He was still standing there, looking at the spot where Kagome had been standing.

"Inu Yasha! Fine! If you won't go after her, then I will!"

He wasn't listening at all. His mind was completely focused on what Kagome had said. He didn't even realize Sango had ran after Kagome, until she ran past his line of sight. Even then, he was too wrapped up with his thoughts to say anything to her.

'What could she have meant when she said: I am so tired of trying to compete with others over you. First Kikyo and now Sango. I don't even want to know who would be next. Good by Inu Yasha.' Inu Yasha turned and walked over to the pond. Crouching down to look at his reflection, he began to speak to himself.

"You really screwed up this time. There is no way you can ask her to come back now. Even if it was an accident, she would never believe you." A tear ran down the check of the half-demon, as he stared at his reflection. "Have I really been that bad to you Kagome? Are you really going to leave me forever over a mistake?"

"Kagome! Kagoooooome!!!!" Sango arrived just in time to see the light from the well, where Kagome had gone through. "Damn! Now what are we going to do?"
