Chapter 9: Sesshoumaru's Past

“As you might have heard by now my brother was a great demon much greater than my self. Though he had the sense of loyalty to his lands, his first mate disappeared a very long time ago leaving him and her son behind.”

 

“What happened to her?”

 

“No one really knows…we don't even know if she's alive or dead.”

 

“What about Inuyasha's mother…how did they come to be?”

 

“Because my brother when he fought against the panther tribe he was badly wounded and left to die alone. That's when Izayoi found him and nursed him back to health. During that time they fell in love with each other and after that…”

 

“Oh…” Kagome had a slight blush on her cheeks.

 

“The other lords including myself at that time had looked down upon their relationship though after I saw how much they loved each other. I had no ill feelings for their child that they would eventually have, though Sesshoumaru didn't see it that way. He saw it as a betrayal against his mother though he did come around to tolerate Izayoi he could never understand why his own mother was gone and his father chose another. Five or so years later she became pregnant with Inuyasha and all demons shunned him for taking a human as a mate now challenged him. Most were not even worth his time but the previous eastern lord Ryukotsusei challenged him there by inflicting the wounds that eventually lead to his death…after saving his mate and son.”

 

Going on for the better part of half and hour till Rin came back with a bouquet of flowers then Kagome joined with picking flowers while Nobu watched over them.

 

(With Sesshoumaru)

Sesshoumaru had been traveling at his highest speed till he reached the outer limits of the lands that his brother had inherited. Reverting back to his humanoid form he walked slowly towards where his mate's friends were still recuperating.

 

Inside Kaede's hut Miroku had come to but his injuries left him with very limited movements at best. Sango only had a sore stomach form that small encounter, Kirara had recovered just fine. As for Inuyasha…he was heavily bandaged from the deep claw marks that lined his body with poison in his system to keep him out cold. Shippo was out getting dome herbs for Kaede for Inuyasha's fever. Since the kit was alone he approached in stealth with his aura and scent hidden. `The kit…Kagome will be much happier now…' With a quick burst of speed Sesshoumaru caught Shippo by his tail and lifted him up. Looking down upon the kit with his usual stoic glance the kit finally realized what had just happened to him.

 

“Hey let me go! Someone help me!”

 

“Silence! Kagome wanted you.”

 

“What did you do with Kagome? Bring her back!”

 

“You want to see her then be silent.” Shippo became silent and still as a croups as he waited for Sesshoumaru to take him to his beloved mother. Letting his tail go Sesshoumaru dropped him onto his own tail.

 

“Do I hold on?” Just a look and the kit got the picture. With that Sesshoumaru transformed back to his energy form and raced off for his next task.
