This is what a flashback will be written like

On with the story.

The Vampire Angel
Chapter 8: I messed up

It went like that for 3 months. I would go on a mission. Inuyasha would be there. I would scold him. And he would just scoff and say he'd see me at the next one. I'd rather he not be there, but no he doesn't listen to me. Even though I'm so much older than him and know better.

Everything had been going somewhat ok on our missions. Except the last one we went on.

There was this vampire I had to track down. And when I did I found out it was that 16 year old red head. The thing was I was out in daylight so I was slightly weaker. The sun threw me off a little.

Well, he recognized me and we started to fight. He somehow always manages to get me severely injured, but I still hurt him just the same. Inuyasha got there near the end of the fight, but the redhead sensed him coming and had a chance to get away.

As much as I didn't want to I asked Inuyasha if I could lean on him as we walked, I needed to limp again. He offered to just carry me, but my stubborn self wouldn't let him. I said I could walk just fine. We were a little far from the city. If you think a little is 30 miles. We were in a very open space with a few trees.

I told you being in the sun was painful, but not so bad. But when a vampire has severe injuries and their blood is oozing out for the sun to fry its pure agony. And being out to long makes me cry out in pain as much as I don't want it to.

Inuyasha seems really concerned and offers to just run us back. I refuse again, but ask to have some of his blood. My wounds aren't healing fast enough on their own. I thought maybe demon blood could give it a little boost.

He let me drink. I missed the way his blood tasted. I lost myself though and almost made him as weak as me. I was disgusted with myself after that and accepted his offer of running us back if the offer still stood.

It did. As soon as we were back I got away from him as soon as possible and have been avoiding him since.

Inuyasha hadn't seen Kagome in 2 weeks and that made him seem even more distant to Kikyo.

He was going to go to a place to get a lead on one of his assignments when he noticed how Kikyo felt about him leaving. She was sitting in a chair at the kitchen counter. He felt kinda bad so he came up to her and took her hands in his and knelt down so he was at her eye level.

“Hey, how `bout you come with me today?” She somewhat brightened at the idea.

“You sure? I might get in the way.” Kikyo asks to make sure he really wanted her to be with him.

“Yeah, come on.” He says and leads her out of the apartment.

I went to this place to get a lead on where a missing person might be. People don't come to me about missing people like they used to. But I just got this new one about a girl around 21 been missing for about a week. Her parents came to me. A cop must remember me and pointed them in my direction.

I just walked out of the elevator. But when I did Inuyasha and Kikyo walked in through the door. I just stared in shock. The door is really close to the elevator so he saw me right away.

“Hi” he says first.

“Hi” I say back. He seems to remember Kikyo is still there.

“Uh… this is Kikyo.” He introduces for Kikyo. I already know who she is, but she doesn't know I know.

“Nice to meet you.” She says holding out her hand. I take it.

“You too.”

“I called you.” Inuyasha says. Actually he called me five times.

“Must have been busy. Well I'll see you around.” I say then walk out.

That night Inuyasha and Kikyo were having a dinner with a few friends. Then Inuyasha got a call on his cell phone. You could only hear his side of the conversation.

“Hello?”

“You do?”

“When?”

“Ok”

“I'll be right there” he says then hangs up. He apologizes to everyone but says he has to go. Kikyo asks to talk to him for a minute. They are outside the door of the apartment.

“What are you doing?” she asks.

“I got a new lead. I really need to be there.”

“Those are your friends in there. Some you haven't seen in months.”

“I know. I'm sorry.”

“You know what, just go to her”

“Her who?”

“Kagome. That's who called isn't it?”

“That wasn't Kagome. I told you it was a lead.” Inuyasha says starting to grow annoyed.

“Fine. Just go then” Kikyo says then walks back in the apartment. Inuyasha stares at the door for a minute but goes to get the lead.

I went to get the lead. And I did get it. But Inuyasha was there too. So we went together. It turned out that a human psycho kidnapped the girl and I disposed of him right away.

It took a while but we got her back to her parents. They seemed so happy. Inuyasha talked to them mostly and I watched in the back of the room as the parents hugged their daughter and kept thanking us.

I felt like I shouldn't have been there so I just left. I got to my car when I dropped my keys and had to get them. I didn't really need a car but it was nice anyways. And my wings get tired sometimes. Ok, that's a lame excuse; I just love the silver car.

When I got the keys I stood back up. When I got back up Inuyasha was in my face. Apparently he had been looking for me. I seemed to have startled him. Truth is I startled myself but didn't let it show.

“I thought you left.” He says.

“I was about to.” He gets a sly look on his face.

“Well, you could have at least said goodbye.” I rolled my eyes. I was a little annoyed and my eyes were half-lidded.

“Ok, good—“was all I could say before his lips were on mine. I was shocked. It was short but it left an impact. My eyes closed, and reopened to their half-lidded way when it was over.

“—bye” I said very slightly breathless when he released me. Unfortunately he caught it and I saw him smirk. Then he walked away. I got into my car. I sat there for a while. Then I slammed my head repeatedly on the steering wheel. When I was satisfied I laid my head on the wheel with my eyes closed.

Damn it. Dammit. Dammit. Dammit! Dammit! I end up screaming in my head. Sango was right. Damn! I fell in love with him.

Sango couldn't explain it but she sensed something was wrong with Kagome. Kagome is usually level headed. And Sango just sensed she was doing something really stupid. Don't ask, it's a vampire thing. She went to Kagome's. She got to her door and smelled alcohol.

She knocked on the door but no one answered though she knew she was there. Her nose didn't lie.

“Kagome open the door.” Kagome just stayed inside doing god knows what.

“Kagome open the door. If you don't, I'm coming in.” Sango threatened. Kagome made no movement to open the door.

Sango forced her nails to grow longer. Then she started picking at the lock on Kagome's door. She got it open and went inside.

She found Kagome with a beer in her hand. She was on her couch belly down. Her head and arms hanging over an armrest. Beer cans littered the floor. She had another six-pack close by.

It takes a lot to make a vampire drunk. It takes extra to make a vampire angel drunk. Kagome rarely drinks so something serious must have happened.

Sango came up to Kagome and took the beer out of her hands. Kagome slowly lifted her head and glowered at Sango.

“I was drinking that.” Even though Kagome had already drank a lot she was pretty stable. She still knew who she was and could remember recent events.

“Give it back,” she said with a firm, clear voice.

“No. You never drink. What happened?”

“As if I'd tell you.” She says looking down.

“You tell me everything.”

“Well maybe if you gave me back my beer I'd tell you,” she snapped.

“No. What happened?”

“I don't want to talk about it. Just let me forget.” She pleaded.

“Just tell me.” Sango says really concerned. She kneels down to her eye-level. Kagome looks at her through half-lidded eyes.

“I messed up,” she says softly as if ashamed of herself.

“How?” Kagome hesitates.

“I…I fell in love with him” she says even softer looking at the floor. I knew she would Sango thinks to herself but didn't feel like saying it aloud seeing how Kagome's depressed enough.

“What do you need to forget?” Sango asks.

“He…he kissed me.” Sango's jaw falls open for a brief second.

“That's no reason to beat yourself up over.”

“I know…can I have my beer back.” She asks hopeful. Sango smacks her upside the head. She deserved it. She gave her a `duh' look.

“I don't feel I deserved that.” She says and glares.

“You really are drunk. You would have realized you deserved that 8 beers ago.”

“Fine. Just let me have this last one and I'll stop. And if you don't believe me take the rest of my beers.”

“Good enough for me.” Sango smirks. Sango tried helping sober up Kagome. The extra blood she carried with her helped. Kagome was still not like herself, but she seemed fine enough to leave alone. They hugged and Sango left.

Kagome was still depressed. She can't believe she let this happen. Memories flashed before her eyes.

“I'll love you forever” he told her. She loved him so much then.

“Forever?” she questioned.

“Promise.” He said sounding so sincere. She smiled and they kissed passionately before it led to more.

“Well you could have at least said goodbye,” he says. She rolled her eyes at his teasing.

“Ok, good—“ she said before she was silenced by his lips.

Kagome shook her head, shaking the memories out for just this moment. She went to take a shower to forget about it.
