InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The Vampire Angel ❯ the mysterious redhead ( Chapter 10 )
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Thank you to Hitsugaya630 and Lil Babe0206 for reviewing. I could leave out LunaStar from that thank you but my morals won't let me. So thanks LunaStar even if you diss me all the time on your story, but that's beside the point. Sorry I've been gone so long. I knew what I was going to write but I couldn't get it to come out right when I tried writing. Plus, I went to a wedding, I had to buy stuff for my sister's wedding, and my mom made me clean some things. When I say things I mean the bathroom. *shudder* Anyway hope you like this.
On with the story.
The Vampire Angel
Chapter 10: the mysterious redhead
I've been taking care of missions on my own for a month and two weeks now. They've lost their excitement. It's not the same with Inuyasha gone. I didn't realize how much I liked having him there.
The last two weeks have been feeling strange. I sense a different vampire in the area but they haven't done anything to alert my attention. But that other one. The one I've been getting in fights with. That redheaded punk. He's pissing me off.
He still doesn't know the rules and this could get out of hand. I need to track him down. But he keeps slipping from my grasp. Just when I think I've got him, he eludes me. I think I might need Sango's help with this one.
********5 weeks ago************
Inuyasha came walking into the office. When Miroku noticed him, he nearly had a heart attack.
“Inuyasha. What are you doing back here?” Inuyasha gave him an `are you stupid' look.
“What do you think? I'm working.” Inuyasha said shoving past him. Miroku ran to catch up with him. He got in front of him walking backwards while he was talking.
“So soon? It's only been a week,” Miroku asked.
“What's with you? It's like you don't want me to come back.”
“It's not that! It's just … I heard what happened to Kikyo,” Inuyasha's ears drooped slightly, “ and I thought you would wait awhile.”
“Nope. Can I see that file in your hand?” he replied quickly while snatching for the file, but it was out of reach.
“Inuyasha, I think you should just—“
“Miroku.” Inuyasha interrupted, the seriousness thick in his voice. Miroku visibly gulped.
“Yeah?” he shyly asked.
“If I don't go back now I won't ever be able to.” He said than just walked off.
*********Now**********
“I need your help on this one.” I say. Sango's silent, sitting on her couch with her elbows on her knees. Then she looks up at me.
“Are you crazy? I don't do that type of thing. I'm not into killing and all that crap.” I kneel down to her eye level, pleading. Ugh, look at me. I'm pleading.
“Come on Sango. Please.”
“Wow, you said `please'. You must need help.” I stand up and start pacing.
“Yes. It's like this vampire is smarter than me—“
“Wow, a vampire smarter than you. The world has come to an end.” She says with mock surprise. I give her a bone-chilling stare.
“This is serious.” I say in a monotonous tone.
“I know that. But you seem tense. I was just relieving it.” I still give her the stare.
“Ok. Point taken.” She says looking away.
“So will you?” she looks back at me.
“Huh?”
“Help me?” she lets out an infuriated sigh and holds her head in her hands. She runs her hands through her hair and looks back at me. She gives a small smile.
“I guess I could.” I give her a small smile back.
“Thanks. Then you need some adaptable dark clothes. You have any?”
“Course.”
“Ok. I'll meet you at my apartment.”
***********Meanwhile***********
“I don't think you should take this assignment, man,” Miroku said.
“You never think I should take assignments. But that doesn't stop me, now does it?” Miroku sighs.
“(defeated) No. But I really have a bad feeling about this one.”
“You have a bad feeling about every one.” Inuyasha retaliates.
“But I mean this one.” Inuyasha pauses then slyly smiles.
“So you didn't mean it for the other ones?” Miroku eyes bug out.
“No, that not…I …you…aah!” Miroku says, so frustrated he's practically pulling out his hair.
“Relax, Miroku.” Inuyasha puts his hand on Miroku's shoulder. He starts to cool down.
“Since you get so worried why don't you just come with?” Miroku's eyes bug out again.
“Are you kidding me? I'm already worried you're gonna die, now you're dragging me along to an early grave!” Miroku says flailing his arms to express emphasis.
“God, you're so dramatic.” Inuyasha says then walks out. Miroku follows behind.
“I'm not dramatic! I'm realistic!” he says and they're at Inuyasha's car.
“You're dramatic and you know it. By the way thanks for coming along.” Miroku looks puzzled than realizes he's strapped in Inuyasha's car and they're already driving.
During their argument Miroku didn't notice he had blindly gotten into Inuyasha's car which got him into the assignment whether he wanted to or not. There was no turning back now. Damn it. Miroku thinks as he slams his head into his seat repeatedly.
********Meanwhile********
I arrived on the balcony of my home. I went to put on my gear. As soon as I was done I heard a knock on the door. I went to answer and it was Sango. She was wearing a black suit that clung to her and pink padding from her slayer days.
“I thought I said dark,” I said to her.
“Well this seemed appropriate to me.” She says gesturing to her ensemble. I scoff and walk out the door with her.
****************
“Alright, I'm gonna fly ahead and you stay on him. I'll swoop down and pin him when he's not expecting.” I tell Sango while we're running.
“Got it.” she flits ahead and I fly up. The redhead doesn't know we're on him but he's on the move.
I see Sango closing in on the kid. They've stopped running and they're talking. Now's my opening. I fly at top speed and crash into the dirt. The collision made a lot of dust fly everywhere but I kept a firm hold on him.
We keep rolling, then I pin him one last time. He's squirming but I've got him now.
“What the hell is your problem?” he yells.
“You need to learn your place.” I say while raising my hand, my nails lengthened. My eyes shining a bright blue.
“Kagome, no!” Sango warns me. I remember what I needed to do and my eyes faded back into brown. My hand falls to my side but my nails are still extended.
“Who are you?” he looks away from me.
“Why should I tell you?” I scratch the side of his face turning his face to me.
“Fine…I'm Shippo.” That name leaves an indent but I don't know why.
“Why are you doing this to these people?” I ask in a deathly low tone.
“You have to answer me something first.” I wait for him to continue.
“Who and what are you?” my eyes narrow.
“What I am is none of your concern, but if you must know I'm Kagome. That's Sango.” I say and motion to Sango.
“Who turned you?” I ask.
“I told you I don't know.” He snaps.
“Well he must have been a real fool to not tell you the rules.”
“What are these rules that are so important?”
“Like keeping killings inconspicuous.” I say as if it were obvious, which it is. Just not to him.
“Well I'm sorry for not knowing that.” He says with heavy sarcasm. I let him up but I still have grip on him so he won't get away.
“You have no idea what I'm going through. I hate this more than anything. No wait. There's one more. The one that turned me.” He says to us.
“We know exactly what you're going through you little brat!”
“Sango calm down.” She scoffs and goes to sit on a rock.
“No you don't. All my life I've waited to grow out of this and I won't. You're like 20. It's all fine for you.”
“It's not as great as you think it is.” I tell him. “If I help you will you stop all this killing?” he looks like he's really thinking about it.
“How will you help me?” he gradually asks.
“Teach you the rules…”
“Not interested.”
“And get the one who turned you.” His interest seems to have picked up.
“Ok.”
“Do you have somewhere to live?” I ask. He shakes his head.
“You can stay with Sango.” Sango, who was tuning out of the conversation, popped her head up and instantly protested.
“What? I won't accept that punk into my home! Besides I have a reputation. Why doesn't he stay with you? You don't care what humans think anyway.”
“And you shouldn't either. Some vampire you are.” I contradict. She sneers and starts walking away.
“I'll see you around.” She says then runs off. Shippo and I head home.
*******Meanwhile**********
“What did I get myself into? I don't wanna die.” Miroku was saying as they were getting out of the car.
“Shut up, will you?” Inuyasha agitatedly says. Miroku glares at him.
“Well excuse me for wanting to live.” Miroku states. Inuyasha just sighs and leans into the trunk. He pulls out a gun and gives it to Miroku.
“There. Feel better?” he says then starts walking. Miroku panics.
“Hey, don't leave me alone out here! Wait up you ditcher!”
“Well, hurry up then.” Inuyasha shouts over his shoulder.
“What does it look like I'm trying to do?” Miroku hollers as he's catching up. He almost collides with Inuyasha when he turns around.
“You need to be quiet now. You don't know what could happen.” He says and starts walking again.
When Miroku can't see him anymore he gives a mock salute and says, “ yes, sir.” Then Inuyasha hits him in the back of the head.
“Heard that, idiot.” He says and they both start walking.

All right, I think I should stop it there. Don't worry I should be back soon, I might even get one more in today. I happen to be on spring break right now so more writing time. Unless mom makes me clean more stuff. Now that I think about it, I'm closer to the end than I thought. So I'm at about half way or 3 fourths of the way done. Not really sure yet. Anyway please review. Until next time.
