InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The Vampire Angel ❯ the kidnapping all over again ( Chapter 11 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

Thanks Lil Babe0206 for reviewing. You review so much I think you have an addiction. Just kidding. Thanks for reviewing all the time. Since I've been on spring break it's like my mom gave me more stuff to do. That's partly why I've been gone. And I had to help my sister out with more wedding stuff. Anyway I hope this chapter doesn't suck.

On with the story.

The Vampire Angel
Chapter 11: the kidnapping all over again

Inuyasha and Miroku walked deeper into the forest where they were gonna get a story. You know how it is, a lot of killings have been happening and they're gonna get the story on it. From earlier experience Inuyasha bet it was werewolves again. So they were on their way to get some dirt on the werewolves. But they hit a little snag on the way.

As they got deeper, the smell of blood was apparent to Inuyasha. There was also a sweetly sour smell but it wasn't as strong.

“They're close, this way.” Inuyasha said as he led Miroku towards the smell.

“Oh joy. Looking danger in the face when normally you should walk away.” Miroku sarcastically retorted. Inuyasha looked over his shoulder with an aggravated expression. Miroku just shrugged and looked away.

When they got to the source of the smell of blood, Inuyasha was right. It was werewolves but they aren't living anymore. They were the same werewolves from almost 2 months ago. There, they lay in puddles of their blood.

Inuyasha and Miroku just stood their looking at their blood soaked bodies.

“This is bad, isn't it?” Miroku asked.

“You can say that again,” Inuyasha countered.

“This is bad.” Inuyasha looked at Miroku annoyed through the corner of his eye.

Then they heard an ominous chuckling. Their heads instantly snapped to the sound coming from their left. And it was coming high up.

A dark figure came diving down from a tree 15 feet away from the two friends. His long, black, wavy hair made him seem intimidating. Or maybe it was the blood red eyes that seemed to look into your soul.

“Long time no see, Inuyasha,” he said and took a step closer.

“You know this guy?” Miroku whispered from beside him.

“No,” Inuyasha whispered back, “who are you?” he said firmly to the stranger.

“Oh, you don't remember me, after all these years? I'm hurt,” he says placing a hand over where his heart would be. Inuyasha then realized the sweetly sour smell from earlier was coming from the menacing man before them. He remembered a scent like that from before, but the angel side of the one the scent belongs to altered it.

“You're a vampire,” Inuyasha stated as a fact. Miroku's face contorted into a look of mystification as he looked at Inuyasha. The vampire's face broke out into a smirk.

“But you still don't know who I am? Think back… around 13 years ago.” Inuyasha's eyes widened and his blood ran cold.

“What's he talking about, Inuyasha?” Miroku questioned.

“N-nothing,” Inuyasha said with a minor stutter. The vampire chuckled again.

“I am Naraku…so Inuyasha, you haven't told your best friend about vampires and such? I thought you were more trusting than that.”

“Shut up! What do you want anyway?” Naraku looked down; when he looked back up his eyes looked a brighter scarlet.

“You,” he said as his nails elongated.

“You're crazy if you think I'll come willingly!” Inuyasha shouted.

“I hadn't really planned on it anyway.” Naraku answered and lunged at Inuyasha. Miroku seemed to remember he had his gun and shot Naraku in the heart. Naraku paused and looked at his chest. He picked out the bullet and grinned.

“You think a bullet can stop me?” he asked then came after Miroku.

“Oh, no you don't,” Inuyasha said as he came at Naraku. Naraku leaped up over Inuyasha's head and knocked Miroku out. He was about to do more damage when Inuyasha pushed Naraku away from Miroku.

Inuyasha was struggling with Naraku to keep his attention away from Miroku.

“Don't worry. I have no use for him. But you won't be so lucky,” Naraku snapped before he knocked Inuyasha out.

************In the middle of their fight************

Shippo and I decided on walking back. We felt it was better to walk and enjoy this night while we can, even if it was 30 miles away. We can do it. We're vampires.

It's been about and hour and we're on the 12th mile. Only 18 miles to go. We come up to a forest with a familiar car at the edge of it. We see a dark lump of something moving toward the car. I think it's crawling. We run ahead and see it's a guy. This guy is from the newspaper office. Inuyasha's friend.

He leans against Inuyasha's car and sees us coming through half lidded eyes. He passes out before we get there though.

*************

We take him back to my place. I called Sango and she's looking over him. We rested him on the couch. I know the guy. His name's Miroku I think. I've been pacing around in my room for half an hour now. The question keeps running through my mind. If Miroku's here and injured, where is Inuyasha and how is he? And I can't ask Miroku about it because he unconscious. This is killing me!

Sango comes in my room. “He's waking up.” I sprint to the front room and kneel down beside the couch. Miroku's eyes scrunch and relax repeatedly before they open. His violet eyes search the room and he looks lost. His eyes land on Sango and his face breaks out into a perverted smile.

“Miroku.” I sternly say to him. His eyes slide to me but every once in awhile stray to Sango.

“Miroku, focus.” I say as I force his eyes to mine. For once they stay there. “What happened?”

“What happened with who?” I roll my eyes.

“You, and where's Inuyasha?” he seems to be having a hard time remembering.

“I got knocked out by this scary dude and the same guy took Inuyasha.” My breath catches in my throat. Inuyasha was taken away? Miroku's eyes started sliding again.

“Miroku.”

“Huh?” his eyes snap back towards me.

“How'd this happen?” his eyes roll back into his head as he thinks about it.

“Inuyasha dragged me along on an assignment,” him and his stupid assignments, “ and we found these giant dead wolves there.” Werewolves.

“And this guy came. Inuyasha said he was a vampire,” that vampire that hasn't done anything? “He was creepy. He had long wavy black hair. And eyes the color of blood.” It can't be.

“Did he say a name?” Miroku squints trying to remember.

“Come on, Miroku. You can remember that much, can't you?” I say shaking his shoulder.

“Uh…n…Naraku, I think he said.” At the sound of that hateful name, my eyes flash blue but quickly fade back before Miroku can notice. How can this happen? I killed him!

I stand up abruptly and dash to my tracking room. I make sure my gear and everything is secure. I come out of the room and Sango is waiting with a concerned look on her face.

“What are you doing?” she asked me.

“What does it look like I'm doing! I'm gonna track that bastard down and kill him! And I'll kill Naraku too!”

“Don't overreact. I know Inuyasha was being stupid but your gonna do something remorseful—“

“Inuyasha was taken! Again! And I wasn't there when I said I would be! I'm gonna kill Naraku and this time I'm gonna make sure he dies.” I shove past her to my balcony and take off.

“Kagome!” I hear her call after me as I fly. I swoop down to the ground than start running. I'll get his scent better running. Hold on, Inuyasha. I'll get to you. Don't you dare die on me.

*****************

“We have to go after her.” Sango said as she came back to the front room.

“How do you expect me to do that?” Miroku asks.

“You just stay and recover while we go,” she said gesturing to Shippo, “ Besides, you'd just slow us down. Come on Shippo.” Sango says then runs out the door of the apartment, Shippo follows close behind her.

****************

I can't believe I let this happen. I'm so stupid. Dammit! I'm thinking all the while I'm tracking down his scent. I sense someone behind me. I skid to a halt and turn to see who wants a fight. I see Shippo and Sango show up.

“What are you doing here? Head back, I don't need you here” I tell them.

“Oh, yes you do. You know you'll need all the help you can get. Why not ask vampires that you know can help.” I stare at her long and hard.

“Heh, do what you want.” I say and run.

Inuyasha's eyes twitched before they opened. When they did he bolted upright. Where the hell am I? He seemed to be in the same deserted warehouse from 13 years ago. But that's impossible, that place burned in a fire. He heard the chuckling again.

“So you've woken up, have you?” Inuyasha looked all over. He could hear the voice but Naraku couldn't be seen. Inuyasha fell back to his knees. He had a splitting headache. He felt like his eyes would burn from the fumes in the air. He didn't know what they were but they hurt his sight and nose.

“Damn you, Naraku! In case you haven't noticed, I'm not the 6-year-old brat I was 13 years ago. And I will get out of here!” this chuckling is becoming a habit of Naraku's.

“Keep telling yourself that, half-demon.” Then the voice stopped.

“Dammit!” Inuyasha cursed himself. Maybe he should have listened to Kagome more.

What you think? Was it any good? It was kinda hard to write. It's like 2:30 in the morning and I started at 11, but I took a lot of breaks so that might have been it. Did any of you suspect I was bringing Naraku back? And I forgot to ask if you knew it was Shippo in the last chapter. Just want to know if you expected it. Until next time.
