This Can't Be Real
Chapter 3
Getting Her Back
They were once again continuing on their journey, Inuyasha leaping in the air with the fire cat flying behind him with the two humans and demon aboard. The dark swirling with dark blue as the sun set. It was difficult to catch up to the hanyou when he was advancing at such a fast pace. His face was set and there was no stopping him from getting to Kagome. Then suddenly there was a scream that was faint, but Inuyasha's ears still picked up on it. He landed on a branch and sniffed the air.
"Kagome." He whispered before he started forward again.
Kirara followed the hanyou as ordered without stopping to listen as he did.
.
She was suddenly couldn't believe it. It became too much for her. She had just opened her eyes and she felt sore all over. She rubbed her eyes and sat up. The morning memory flooded back to her quickly and she checked her arms. The funny thing was that there was nothing anywhere, not even a single scar. She shrugged it off and wondered how on earth she was going to get out of this place.
She ran a hand through her hair, but stopped when she felt something out of place. She was touching something fuzzy that was shaped just like Inuyasha's. Right away she assumed the only thing possible. Her hands flew out in front of her and she saw claws, not her original nails. She started to feel her teeth, and found fangs.
`Oh my god! I'm hanyou!' She cried in her head.
Then she did what she always did. She let out the loudest scream she's ever let out of her mouth before. It was short, but all the while worth it. She sprung up and searched frantically for anything, but all she saw were claw marks on the dark wood. `Did I do this?'
She looked down at what she was wearing and knew that this wasn't hers. She was wearing a black silk robe with white embroidery along the edges. It was fit tightly around her showing a little cleavage. It was about as long as her school skirt so it didn't see to all out of the ordinary for her.
She shook her head and ran over to the door. She turned the knob and it was open. A jolt of hope surged through her as she flung it open, hoping that she could escape before anything bad happened. But all of that faded when she saw Naraku standing here-waiting for her.
"Come here." He said simply.
Kagome was about to respond with a rude comment, but suddenly she started walking. Her body was obeying him, but her mind wasn't. She stopped right in front of him and she started to freak out. This wasn't supposed to happen. He reached forward and pulled her against him-his hands on her hips. He stuck his head into her hair and started to take in her scent.
"So…sweet." He whispered.
He dragged a finger along her thigh that was showing.
"So…smooth."
She started to get shivers as if everywhere he touched was burning with acid.
"Get away from me you bastard." She whispered in a warning tone.
"Inuyasha doesn't deserve you…he let your beauty and you innocence go to waste, but I won't do that."
She was starting to get angry with him but she wasn't sure why.
"Hanyou or not…you will still do fine. When that half-breed gets to you, he'll drop you faster than I could cut his head off."
Kagome's blood started to boil, and if only he was facing her he'd see the red that was dangerously flickering in her eyes. Her claws started to grow as did her fangs. Then faintly on the sides of her face thin stripes started to appear. She didn't let out a growl or any sign of her change as Naraku placed kisses along her neck.
"So…delicious-" He said before he stiffened.
A wet substance started to drop on her shoulder as he gagged and pulled his head away so he could face her. As he straightened up Kagome pulled back her hand that was protruding from the back of the man. There was a large hole in his middle and his face was slowly being drained away.
"I ne-never thought t-that little o-old you c-could be m-my downfall…" He said fighting the pain.
She watched him as his breathing slowed down and he slumped forward. She threw him down and almost jumped when the room around her started to dissolve. The wind started to whip violently and she crouched down, trying to help herself from flying away. She glanced down at Naraku with a smirk that was not known to her real self, but it fell when purple smoke-poisonous gas-started to form around him, and he vanished.
"Where the fuck did he go?" She yelled into the wind growling dangerously. "This is bullshit."
.
He sped up, his heart almost twisting itself in a knot as he raced towards the source of the scream. Then suddenly the sky darkened and some sort of twister appeared a little way off. It was purple wind, and Inuyasha was sure that it was Naraku. The only thing that was going through his mind was Kagome. Nothing else mattered. The humans behind him didn't matter either. It was like it he had to reach Kagome at this very moment, or she would die.
He tore off faster then he ever knew he could run towards the swirl of smoke and faint images of what was a palace. His nose couldn't pick up her scent, but he knew she was there. He could feel it in his heart, the mess that he would never admit anything to it. Never let it prove him wrong in anything. He got closer and the wind was starting to die down, and faintly he could make out the outline of someone crouching down with their back towards him.
"Kagome!" He said to himself.
His heart leapt in joy as he saw her crouched there. He started to walk towards her, not realizing what a mistake it would be. The wind was pretty much gone and all that was left was a complete and utter mess.
"Kagome." He called out to her as he picked up his pace.
As he got very close to her, about to reach out she stood up; he noticed something that shouldn't be there. Two dark fuzzy ears-much like his own-stood there, on top of her head. She kept her back to him, but the ears were still in full view. He was suddenly confused. He scanned over her body, and was sure that it was Kagome.
"Kagome?" He asked reaching forward a hand.
She spun around and slashed his hand away with her claws. He pulled it back and stared into blood red eyes, unlike Kagome's natural hazel ones. He stared at them shocked beyond belief as she growled at him, getting ready to strike.
"Kagome? Are you alright?" He asked not understanding fully how she became like him.
She growled in response before leaping towards him and bringing her claws down at him. He jumped out of they way quick enough, but she didn't stop there. She kept throwing attacks at him, not even scratching him. She slowly got closer to him, being able to predict his moves now. The rest of them appeared, but they stood there and let the two hanyou's fight.
Kagome leapt up into a tree, trying to get a better shot at him. Inuyasha didn't let her though. He jumped up to where she was, trying to get her to cool down. She jumped away from him but came right back with her claws positioned before her. He met her halfway and jumped at her trying to bring her down without causing her any harm. They collided and he managed to get a hold of one of her wrists.
The other attacked his hand, forcing them into him. He yelled loudly as he let go and together they fell to the forest floor. He scrambled up only to see her flipping backwards into a mass of trees. He wasted no time and ran after her. Sango and Shippo were about to run after them, when Miroku's hand came out and stopped her.
"Let him go. He can do it, just give him time with her." He said turning over to the mess. "Let's see what we can find for the time being."
She nodded and took one last glance at the disappearing Inuyasha before turning to follow Miroku. Back with the two hanyous Inuyasha had almost lost her, but he was lucky that she was trying to kill him. Or was he? He jumped away just in time to avoid her attack from behind. He flipped around in time to catch her off guard and pin her against the tree with his body.
"Kagome! What is wrong with you?" He yelled in her face, his face merely inches from hers.
She growled and struggled against him, making his senses slightly blur.
"KAGOME! DON'T YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE? WHO I AM?" He yelled again looking into her eyes.
They flashed momentarily hazel, but still remained red. She struggled even more, and he couldn't help but feel a pull towards her. Even in this state he couldn't help but feel a little more than attracted to her. He knew that he shouldn't be thinking the thoughts he was, but it was too hard not to. `Why does she always do this to me? Why must she effect me the way she does?' He wondered.
"I know that you should be lying on the ground with blood pouring from your very body, that's what the fuck I know." She growled at him.
"Do you even know what you're saying? The Kagome I know has never cursed in her whole life!"
She stared at him, her eyes flickering again, only stronger.
"Come back to me Kagome, I don't want to lose you again."
She stopped struggling and for a second he thought that she was about to come back-he was so wrong. She suddenly bucked all her weight towards him, throwing him off and onto the ground. She leapt forward at him and pulled a hand down to his throat, about to tear it when she was flipped on her back.
"Get the fuck off me you bastard!" She growled thrashing her body against his in attempt to get free.
"Not until you return to your normal self!"
"This is my normal self." She hissed at him.
"No this is not! You are not the Kagome I know and love!" He growled out.
His mind froze. What had he just done? He had just told her that he loved her and he didn't even know it himself. She must have seen the haze in his eyes as she shoved him back and off of her. He snapped out of his thoughts and pulled himself to his feet. Kagome must've not been effected the way he had with his words, and decided himself that he needed her back.
She smirked at him and flashed him her fangs. He didn't care for show and tell and went after her with his own claws out, but not to hurt her. She jumped away from his attacks easily and Inuyasha knew that he wasn't going to get far with his. She moved easily and quickly, and he knew that he had to get her somehow cornered. But how? He was in the forest and clearly she wasn't about to go back against a tree again.
"Kagome, think about what you're doing!" He called out jumping away from one of her claws.
"I know what I'm doing, it's just what the hell you're doing! Stop moving so I can kill you!"
"You don't want to kill me! I know inside you don't want to! Come back to me Kagome, I know you can hear me."
She stopped attacking at stared at him. Her head lowered and he couldn't see her eyes. He stepped forward not regarding the situation with proper analysis. He was about to embrace Kagome when her claws lashed out and slashed his chest, drawing an awful lot of blood. He fell back on the ground and she took this as an advantage. But she didn't know that he had a trick up his sleeve.
She landed on him, causing him to jump a little. She lowered her head to his as she pierced his arms with her claws. He was breathing normally, not showing any sign of exhaustion.
"Now this is how it's supposed to be, you on the verge of death, and me serving it to you."
"In your dreams." He whispered before shooting his arms up against the pain and pulling her down on him.
Her face fell and he caught her lips in a kiss. She tried to pull away but he wouldn't let her. His eyes slid closed against his will as he let himself fall into it. He pressed against her, hoping that she would come back to him. At first all she was doing was pulling away, but then he felt her press back. She tugged at his bottom lip with her teeth and opened her mouth slightly. He felt himself melt into the kiss, forgetting about everything. It seemed so right, something he had been longing to do forever.
They had both gotten so into the kiss that they failed to notice anything around them. Not their surroundings, not the calls from their friends, not even the temperature of the ground. His hands drifted away from her back down further. He grasped her naked thighs and heard her slightly let out a growl of surprise. Her hands were positioned on either side of his head holding her up. Without even knowing it she started to slowly grind against him. His senses were lost in the haze that she was putting in his brain and he couldn't help but want to feel more of her.
"Inuyasha?" Came a voice from the bushes.
He stopped and opened his eyes quickly. He looked over at Miroku who seemed to be wearing a perverted smile. Inuyasha suddenly realized what he was doing and let go of her legs. Her head whipped back from Miroku to him. Her eyes were still the same, holding the warmth and love that he had always seen. She sprang up off of him and ran off in the opposite direction of where the others were.
She disappeared so fast that Inuyasha had to wait a second until he was able to realize that she was running away from them-from him. He got up and looked over at Miroku with anger.
"Don't ask and don't follow. Stay with them and I swear I will have your balls hanging from a tree if you-" He growled at Miroku.
"Woah, woah, woah! Calm down, wasn't gunna." Miroku said raising his arms and turning away.
Inuyasha turned away and started to run after Kagome, following her scent. He was going to get this whole thing straightened out, especially what his mind and heart were telling him. He had to decode the messages and get his life straightened out.
