Chapter 2
Now that time had passed, Kagome grew up a bit. After the feudal era that she had left behind, she graduated high school. But because of her 10 and 11 grade years she wasn't going to be accepted into college. She didn't really care though.
Now she has a job as an employer in the historical museum. They saw that she was capable of deciphering what was real and what was a phony. So being in the past really did come in handy.
She worked with a good friend of hers that she met back in the beginning of 11 grades.
Kila, was her name. An American who had moved here that year, or so she said. She had blonde hair that reached mid back with black tips. She even had a diamond shaped birthmark in the center of her forehead, reminding Kagome so much of someone she left in the past.
When she first arrived at Kagome's high school, she was picked on because of the mark. They had been good friends ever since.
Kila was locking up the museum for the night and was waiting to drive Kagome home. Together they even owned their own apartment, but still close to her family shrine. She was still the next heir to owning the shrine… after her grandfather passes away.
Tonight Kagome wanted to visit her family, so Kila dropped her off at her childhood home.
Kagome walked up the steps and onto the shrine grounds. Walking past the sacred tree and the well. She tempted to ignore them now that she passed them. When she got inside, she was all by herself. Her family had gone to the country to visit a relative. She set her bag down and walked up to her childhood room, where she plopped herself onto the bed. Easily losing herself to sleep.

Kali realized that Kagome forgot the book that she needed to go over that night. So she turned the car around and headed back. She parked at the curb and followed her friend's footsteps.
Coming up to the house, she called inside. When no one answered she walked inside and walked up stairs after seeing the light that was currently on. Once in her friend's room, she noted that Kagome was asleep. Kila couldn't help but smile.
One thing caught her attention, a small picture frame that rested on her desk. The glass frame was clear decorated with red glass shaped into roses and green glass shaped into vines. She fingered the clear glass and ran them over the picture.
`This must have been one of those festivals.' She thought.
In the picture, stood Kagome with a boy. She was wearing an extravagant kimono. Though she couldn't really see it all that well, considering that the boy's red kimono sleeves covered her own. His arms were wrapped gently around her, his cheek resting against her own. Kagome's fingers draped delicately over his fore arms, both smiling.
“I remember this day now.” She said a little bit too loud.
Kagome began to shift and awaken, “Kila? What are you doing here?” She asked as she sat up and rubbed her eyes from the sleep.
“Sorry, but you forgot your book in the car so I just brought it over, I'm sorry for intruding.”
”It's alright.” Kagome said with a sleepy smile.
”It's alright.” Kagome said with a sleepy smile.
Kila still had the picture in her hand, hopefully Kagome hadn't heard what she had just said, “Who is this boy?” She asked.
The smile that was on Kagome's face slipped away, “What's it matter? I won't be able to see him any more.” Tears welled up in her eyes.
“Why, does he have a girl already?”
She shook her head, “Can't we just say that we live in two different worlds?”
Kila sat down next to her friend on the bed, setting the picture back down on the nightstand gently and wrapping an arm around her shoulder. Hoping comfort her. Kagome buried her face into her friends neck, letting the tears slowly fall.

“You must have really liked him.”
Kagome was silent, but nodded her head against its place against her friends comforting embrace.

“He didn't return my feelings so it doesn't matter.”
”Oh so he loved another?”
”He did, but she died.”
Kila looked at her friend and thought of something to say. See this is another thing. Unlike her friends Yuka, Eri or Ayumi, she actually listened and gave her good advice. Instead of just jumping to one end of the conclusion. The negative end, like `Forget him, he's not worth it.' Or `Why do you still put up with him, he's a two timer.' And `You deserve better.' Which always ends up with her saying, `Because I love him so much.'

“So why not go see him?”
”I already told you, he doesn't love me.”

She was silent for a moment, thinking of a food way to cheer up her friend, “So you know the next step to do.”
Kagome looked at her with a confused look, staring up at her friend

“I know he loves you. This picture says it all.” She said.
Kagome looked at the picture. He was happy to be with her that night, he even admitted it.
Kila sat up and took a few steps forward, “And what makes you so sure that he doesn't? He didn't go after Kikyo, did her?” She asked, Kagome reacted a bit hearing Kikyo's name, she looked at Kila's back with confusion as she continued, “I mean I know Inuyasha is an idiot but…” She clamped her mouth shut, realizing what names she had just said and stayed silent.
