Belonging
Ch 2 - Sesshoumaru and the Run of the Demons
******
Kagome looked at her surroundings as she sat at the round cherry oak table in front of her. She actually didn't even get to sit; Hojo had stopped her and gestured towards Yura and the mean girl. They weren't sitting at the table; they were standing at the wall closest to the door they had entered thru. There were 5 girls total and 7 boys in the room. The room it self had deep green colored walls. And more paintings adorned the walls with white statues. There were only 8 chairs, 7 were the same oak as the table but one seat was different. It was made of oak too but there were carvings on this chair, signifying its own importance. The 7 boys had already sat down; no one had noticed her and she preferred to keep it like that.
The girls were silent as the watched proceedings before them. One girl though looked like she didn't even want to be there. Instead of the stoic expressions like the other females, she had one of hate and disgust sprawled across her face. She also had a black eye.
But Kagome attentions were drawn to the person who had opened the door at that moment. The man had silver hair and was wearing very expensive clothes. An air of confidence and a demand of respect went around him. He sat in the important seat.
Sesshoumaru. He was really hot, if it wasn't for the fact that he looked a girl. His eyes were golden and red streaks were on his face. He was youkai. Kagome knew that, it was just another reason to meet him and the Demons. He looked so powerful sitting there. Yura was right he did only look 27; all she knew about youkai is that they aged one year for every 7 human years. So that would make him around 190. WOW. No wonder he was the leader, he was probably here before everyone else.
The room quieted with his entry. Kagome looked to each guy, none of them looked at her except for one. He was cute, if you liked the bad-boy type; he had a baboon tattoo on his left arm. She didn't like it; it was too big, too dark and scary. He smiled at her, and it sent chills down her spine. She quickly turned her attention back to Sesshoumaru.
"Tonight is the Run of the Demons. This means that tonight we go onto Wolves territory to get our property back. I don't need to tell you how important this is. We only need to get Rin and Rei." His voice commanded attention and his face was expressionless.
*Rin? Rei? Aren't those people?*
"Tonight we show our power to the Wolves. We show them not to mess with our people. They outsmarted us last time and took Rin and Rei, but we saved ourselves shame by taking Kouga's girl." He gestured toward the girl with the black eye.
*She's from the wolves?* Kagome never knew the gangs stole "property" from one another. She also didn't like the fact that they had named the girls "property". Like they were land or something. At least she wasn't a part of this, yet. She knew though that she would be. She just didn't know in what fashion.
Kouga? Kouga was the leader of the Wolves. She had seen him before; he was a bit too immature for her tastes. Kagome looked down to the Wolf girl. Her head was down only showing a curtain brown hair. Kagome felt sorry for her. There was no way the girl felt safe. Kagome had heard of the murders that were more then likely caused by one of the gangs. Girl or boy, neither gang had any qualms. Kagome broke from her thoughts and went back to listening to Sesshoumaru's speech.
"Since the girls are handling the take-back, they can leave to go prepare. Men, stay. You are to handle the rest of the club tonight." Sesshoumaru was changing to a different a subject one that didn't call for the girls to hear. They walked out followed by Kagome and she quietly shut the door.
The girls were already walking down another hallway. Kagome really didn't know what else to do so she followed. The Wolf girl was ahead of Kagome with her head still bowed. Kagome walked up past her to Yura.
"What's happening?" she asked.
"We're going to get back Rin and Rei. Didn't you hear?" They walked thru a set of doors, the walls changed to cement.
"Why aren't the boys doing it?" If this was so important, why weren't the boys taking care of it.
Yura shook her head. The group stopped in front a big looking locker. The mean girl took out a key and unlocked it. Vast assortments of weapons were reveled.
"The girls take care of the girls. It has always been like that. Besides it was our fault that Rin and Rei got taken away."
The mean girl was handing out a handgun to each girl except for Kagome and Wolf girl. Kagome didn't understand why the gang was letting the enemy's girl see everything. *Probably because they wouldn't be able to find the hide-out anyway.*
"Who are Rin and Rei?" Kagome knew she was probably asking to many questions but she didn't care.
"Rin is Sesshoumaru's girl and Rei is her sister." Yura answered. They were now in a garage that housed a whole load of expensive cars and motorcycles. Obviously it paid to be in a gang.
"Where are we going?" that made Yura stop and turn to look at her.
"You're not going anywhere. Hojo would kill me if something happened to a friend who wasn't a part of the Demons. It's too dangerous." The girls had already loaded up into 2 Mercedes but Yura and Kagome were standing there talking about why she couldn't go.
"Do you know what it feels like to take a bullet? Because it could be very well that you take one tonight if you go with us." Yura said.
"I can take care of myself. Besides what the hell else am I supposed to do. I can't get home. I'm stuck here until Hojo gets out but wait he's going to the club too. See I can't stay here by myself." Kagome really wanted to go. This seemed exactly like what she wanted. Excitement.
Yura rolled her eyes and was about to speak when a girl stuck her head out the window of the first car.
"YURA! We'll drop her off at the corner. Let's go!"
Yura just sighed and got in the 2nd car followed by Kagome. They sat in the back while the mean looking girl was the driver. Wolf girl sat quietly in the passenger seat.
"Where are we going?" Kagome asked again.
Yura looked at her, "WE, not you, are going to the Akuma Club. That's the Wolves' club and were they are keeping our girls."
They pulled up beside the curb by Keade's shop. The doors were unlocked. Kagome didn't want to go home. She knew there was nothing for her there. She looked around hoping to think up an excuse. Then she saw a group of guys hanging the liquor store that was across the street.
"I can't get out here. Do you see those guys? They'll probably jump me or something. I'll be safer staying with you." She said desperately. It was true they probably would jump her or worse.
Yura looked towards the guys that were already eyeing the car they were in. "You said you could handle yourself. You won't be safer with us. You don't know who guards our girls."
"But Hojo will be mad anyway when he finds out you kicked me out on a dangerous street corner. Basically offering me up as a victim to a bunch of men."
Their argument was interrupted though by the mean girl turning her head and saying, "Yura, she's right. Hojo will be mad that you left her here. Why don't we bring her and she can be the get-a-way driver." She turned her sight to Kagome, "You can drive right?" Kagome nodded. *I can't believe they're letting me go.*
Yura just sighed and agreed. Before they started to pull away form the curb though Yura said, "Wait. I need to get something out of the trunk."
Yura quickly got out and back in the matter in a matter of seconds. She was carrying a duffel bag with her. She opened the back and started pulling out sexy little shirts and pants. Kagome hadn't really been paying attention to what everyone had been wearing. All the girls were wearing something sexy except for the Wolf girl.
"If you're going you at least need to look like you belong there." Yura muttered. She looked at the jeans and t-shirt Kagome was already wearing. She handed her a top with a Chinese design on it. It was a cut v-neck that went low enough to probably show off Kagome's breasts. Yura then looked down at Kagome's feet, she was wearing tennis shows. Kagome looked down with her.
"I'm sorry if I had known I was going to a club I would have worn my platforms." Kagome said sarcastically.
"It doesn't matter you're not getting out. No one will see you're bottom half." The driver said.
"Change." Yura commanded. They drove along the highway as Kagome changed into the shirt given to her. She felt uneasy with Yura just staring her down. Kagome's estimation was right, the top did show off her chest and it didn't help that it was a size too small and showed a very large helping of her stomach. Kagome wanted Yura's attention off of her.
"So," Kagome gestured towards the front, "What's everyone's name?"
"That's Kaugra." She said pointing to the driver. "That's Amaye. She's Kouga's bitch." Pointing to the quiet girl up front. "Kanna is driving the other car. She's Kaugra's sister."
Kagome glanced at the stereo clock; 2:00 AM. She had never been out this late before. But she doubted her parents had even noticed her absence. They were gliding down the highway; Kaugra was sliding in between cars and cutting off a lot of them.
"So how did the Wolves get Rin and Rei?" Kagome asked.
Before Yura could answer, Kaugra interjected, "They sprung a surprise run of their own. They almost had Yura if it wasn't for Kanna. They had taken Rin and Rei without us even knowing till it was too late. Sesshoumaru was so pissed off. No one has taken his bitch before."
"Why are you calling her a bitch?" Kagome asked.
"Sesshoumaru is a dog youkai. That means whoever his female is, is his bitch. It's like that with most canine youkai. Kouga is a wolf youkai, so that makes Amaye his bitch." Yura answered.
Kagome's head only nodded in understanding. She hadn't known about kouga, but it did make since. A dog youkai against a wolf youkai.
"What are the boys doing?" she asked.
"They're stealing a -" she was cut off by Kaugra before she could finish.
"Yura no. Sesshoumaru said no talking about it until after. God you have a big mouth."
Yura just nodded and remained silent.
Now Kagome was really curious, but she reasoned that she would find out one way or other. So she forgot about it.
"Where are the boys?" she asked.
"They are already there." Yura answered.
They were driving into the rich part of the city. They stopped though when they came to a club that had a line of people waiting out side. In red letters it said, AkUMa. The music from inside could be heard outside only by the thumping of the bass. Kagome watched out for anyoe she recognized from the Demons. Of course she didn't, they were hiding. They drove around back and parked behind another Mercedes. Kanna stepped out and walked over to them. She was dressed just as sexy as the other girls.
Kanna seemed surprised that Kagome was still with them.
Kougra turned around to stare at her, "You get up here and guard Amaye. Make sure she doesn't get away." She opened the glove compartment and took out another handgun, "You know how to work this?"
No she didn't but she could lie. She doubted Amaye was stupid enough to try and run with a gun to her head. Kagome nodded and got out the car followed by Yura and Kaugra. She sat in the front with the gun in her lap. The handle was engraved with the word "Demon". She looked back up at Yura as Kanna and Kaugra walked away.
"Don't let her get out Kagome. If you do Sesshoumaru will personally handle you and no one will be able to help."
The warning scared Kagome but she didn't let it show. She just nodded and watched the other girl walk to the front of the building. She turned her attention to Amaye. Her head was stilled bowed and her hands were in handcuffs in her lap. Kagome didn't want the girl to just sit there so she decided to talk to her.
"Hi my name is Kagome." She tried to sound cheerful but even Kagome saw the weirdness of this scene.
The girl just raised her head and stared at Kagome. "You know right your friends are going to die for this."
*My what a response.* Amaye then bowed her head again.
"What makes you think they're going to die?" she asked.
"Kikyo won't let them live."
*Kikyo? Who the hell was that?* Kagome had never heard of anyone from the Wolves named Kikyo, but then again Kagome never paid that much attention to the gang.
Amaye interrupted Kagome's thoughts, "If you let me go, I promise that they won't die." She said pleadingly.
Yura's warning about Sesshoumaru rang thru Kagome's head. No way was she letting this girl go. She shook her head at the girl.
"Why do you care? You're obviously not a part of the Demon pack." Amaye smiled at the expression on Kagome's face. "You look way too innocent to be in this situation. Being in a gang taints a person. Look at you; you probably don't even know how to handle a gun."
Kagome was not going to let some girl scare her. She let her face go blank and smiled, "Do you want to see if I know how to use a gun?"
Kagome was so busy trying to deal with Amaye she didn't even see the person creeping up behind her until she heard the click of a gun by her head. Kagome turned her head to see another girl with long black hair pointing a gun at her face. She looked very angry. Kagome looked back to Amaye, she was smiling smugly. She got out of the car and spoke to the girl with the gun.
"Sango no. She's not with the Demons, besides Sesshoumaru will handle her later for loosing me." Amaye said.
*Oh shit.*
The girl named Sango nodded and withdrew the weapon. Both girls ran to the back door and disappeared behind it. Kagome was really thrown off, but she couldn't just let them get away. Yura's warning and Amaye's words kept repeating in her mind. She made a decision; she was going in.
She remembered Yura's words about looking the part and she looked down at her tennis shoes. She grabbed the duffel bag and started searching; hoping for maybe a pair of shoes. She found some black boots size 8; well she was a size 7 so they would do. After getting her boots on she moved to take the keys out but thought not to. Easier to get away without having to search for keys. She grabbed the gun. Her mind was reeling thru all the gangster and western movies she had seen hoping she could remember and guess how to work a gun.
*I can do this. I can do this.*
How was she supposed to carry a gun? She got out the car and put it in her jeans behind her back and under her shirt. She took a deep breath before opening the door to the club.
*I have to get Amaye back.*
