Chapter 5
Kagome came to a few hours later.
"Where am I you b***h, what have you done to me?" Kagome demanded of the woman sitting opposite with a smug expression on her face.
"Don't you recognize where we are, Kagome? ... This is the place where you first attacked Naraku ... you're in his castle," stated Kikyo.
"Why have you brought me here, Kikyo?" Kagome shouted. "Answer me!"
"The energy here is still very strong; you won't be detected in here," she chuckled.
"That's where you're wrong, Kikyo. Inuyasha and I have quite a strong connection, and I can sense him as easily as he does me," she said smugly folding her arms across her chest.
"What are you smiling about? ... You know, I always thought you stupid Kagome ... Inuyasha's abilities won't save you this time... there's no way he'll sense you in here ... I put up an impenetrable barrier, he can't break,"
However, Kikyo was unaware Inuyasha was close by, extremely close. Kagome knew that even if he couldn't break through Kikyo's barrier; she was certain Inuyasha was coming for her.

Kouga was furious with Kikyo; he couldn't believe she'd betray him by stealing Kagome away from him like that.
"If Inuyasha won't kill you, I will!" Kouga shouted.
By this time; Kouga began to slow down as he approached his destination.
"Inuyasha, Kouga's slowing down ... we must be getting close!" stated Sango as she crouched in front of Miroku.
"This place is familiar isn't it? ... Oh my god; this is Naraku's former castle stronghold ... Why would Kikyo bring her here?" Miroku said not believing his eyes.
"Naraku's energy must still be present here ... Kikyo must be drawing off its power," Inuyasha suggested.
"We may be in for a tough challenge this time, especially as her powers are combined with Naraku's energy ... it's going to be tough!" Miroku warned as a worried look passed over his face.
"I don't care what it takes, or how tough it will be ... I must get Kagome out!" Inuyasha said with a determined look upon his face.
Everyone nodded their agreement; Kouga paused by the entrance to Naraku's castle. He felt a strong force emanating around its circumference.
Kouga tried to pass through the gates, but was thrown back by an invisible force.
"Damn it!" he shouted. "I can't break through ... how shall I reach Kagome now?" he said staring at the threshold with an angry stare.
"You won't have to worry about that anymore!" Shouted Inuyasha as Kouga turned quickly as Inuyasha jumped from Kiara's back.
"Looks like you've led me straight to Kagome ... now I can kill you!" Inuyasha said glowering at Kouga.
"Wait Inuyasha ... we can work together to break through this barrier," screamed Kouga.
"I don't need help from you, wolf ... I'll destroy it myself!" he said casually.
"Not even you can penetrate that shield Inuyasha ... it holds too much power!" he gesticulated waving his arms towards the invisible field.
"I'll get passed it, and then I'll kill you!" he said in a dry manner.

Kagome felt a jolt of energy; it was Inuyasha, he was here. She sat back and smiled to herself. Kagome new it wouldn't be long before she was in the arms of the man she loved.
"What the hell are you smiling about now you foolish woman?" shouted Kikyo.
"He's here!" Kagome said fixing her gaze upon the now restless Kikyo.
"What! ... You must be mistaken ... that can't be! ... How could he have found us so soon?" she said as her voice took on a panicked tone.
"I told you he would come for me ... I'm his soul mate, and he's mine, he will always come for me whenever I need him," Kagome said calmly.
"Not if you're dead," shouted Kikyo as she jumped to her feet.
"I'm not the one who's going to die today!" smiled Kagome maintaining her state of repose much to the annoyance of the woman before her.

Meanwhile Inuyasha tried his best to smash through Kikyo's barrier, but he had no luck. Miroku then began to call upon his mystical powers to break through the wall of force surrounding the castle. He too had no luck; they felt so frustrated. Inuyasha threw a stone at the force field and it just dissolved into a puff of smoke. He turned to Miroku and shrugged not knowing what else to do.

Kagome sensed Inuyasha's struggle to get to her. Kikyo's barrier was stronger than she had first thought.
"It seems Inuyasha and his little band seems to be having a hard time rescuing you, Kagome ... let's see if I can make this a little more interesting?" Kikyo laughed as she summoned her souls.
"Go now, and give our guest a warm welcome!" she smiled tossing back her hair laughing at Kagome who began to feel uneasy once again.
"Stop this now, Kikyo ... end this ... I won't let you harm him!" Kagome pleaded.
"There's nothing you can do, so just shut up and prepare for your death!" she retorted with a crazed look in her eyes.
"You're wrong Kikyo, you will feel my pain and I will show no mercy this time ... Just you wait!" she growled answering Kikyo's intense stare with one of her own.
