Inu Yasha just stood there, starring off in the direction Kirara took his friends. He couldn't believe it…kagome gone? He ran back into the hut gazing in disbelief at the blood trail. NO this can't be…please….Kagome don't leave me…his eyes swelled. I failed you, I'm so sorry. He thought harder as his expression changes…he was no longer sad but filled with anger. Ill kill her! He screamed inside his head. Ill find her…that bemand bitch will pay…she'll regret this…you'll see. I wont fail you again.

He took off into the night running in the direction of the well. He suddenly caught her sent…and another demand's sent. He growled as he took off full speed toward it.

He stopped, looking in horror. The demand had ripped open her stomach and was cooking her insides over a well lit fire.

"NO KAGOME!!!!!!" he screamed and he jumped out of the bush, catching the demand by surprise rapping him to shreds. He sat there crying not able to look at the horridness of kagome's body that had been scattered.

"Inu Yasha!" a voice said angrily…

"Kagome" he looked up in confusion.

There she was, sitting up starring at him with hateful eyes, her stomach not intact. He stood there in horror as she grabbed her bow and pointed it at inu yasha… "You killed me!" inu yasha looked confused and terrified. How was she alive? "You'll pay! Die Inu Yasha!" she shoots the arrow.

"NO WAIT KAGOME!!!" he screamed at the top of his lungs as he jerked, forcing himself out of the tree and onto the ground next to a startled kagome.

"Inu Yashs are you alright…" she had the look of absolute confusion.

"Kagome?" He asked. He looked right into her eyes relieved that she was ok. He was certain the dream was real. It felt too real…

"Inu Yasha, what is up with you? You have been falling out of trees all week?" She said concerned yet angrily. "Are you having nightmares or something, come on you can trust me."

He wanted to tell her so bad, but he couldn't find the strength to. "forget it!" he sat up "its nothing…' He jumped back into the tree. Why do I keep having these dreams? Kagome always get hurts and it's always my fault…because if my love for Kikyo…

"Have it your way." She laid back down falling asleep instantly.

The next morning they had packed up their things and began their day of searching for jewel shards. Inu Yasha was in front with a determined look. He had been thinking about his dreams. He knew that it was too real to just be a dream. Was it a sign? Is it telling him what will happen? Or was his mind trying to scare him into giving up kikyo? Whatever it was just he thought of it made his hair stand up on end and his stomach turn.

Next in line was miroku who was walking with his eyes closed concentrating on the strange energy he was picking up. He didn't know if it was important enough to tell the other, so he just worked in silence. Sango, who was standing behind miroku, was lost in the thought of inu yasha's behavior. She'd occasionally look up at him in wonder for a few moments.

"Cut it out sango!" he turned and screamed at her… "Is there something you want to tell me?" she shook her head. "hmph" he responded while crossing his harms and turning around. They continued in silence once again. Shippo, who was on kirara's back behind sango, was eyeing kagome's bag, thinking to himself about the candy that she could have stored in there. He still hadn't decided how he was going to get in there to see, the only thing certain was that he was getting in…somehow!

In the very back was kagome pushing her bike. She had been going over math equations for the test on Monday, in her head. They soon became one blurred equation as she repeated them over and over. She sighed in frustration.

It had been about and hour when they heard a blood curdling scream, just like the one that Inu Yasha heard in his dream. He was the first to look up. He sniffed the air…

"I don't smell a demand anywhere," he said puzzled.

"Come on, lets go check it out" sango said already running. The group fallowed. As they got closer inu yasha's ears went up as he growled.

"What is it inu yasha" Kagome asked.

"I smell blood." He said deep in the growl. They had all arrived at the same time. Inu Yasha gasped as he saw the same thing in his dream…a girl ripped open…hanging by a tree by her hair…with a small campfire already long spent. A young girl, no more than 7 was screaming and crying as she stared at the all too familiar woman. She dropped to her knees as kagome dropped her bike and ran to the girl. She held the girl until she too was crying. Miroku and sango stoop in horror until they brought themselves back. They knew that they couldn't leave her like this…

"Miroku…?" she whispered

"We have to burry her…" he walked over to the girl trying to untie her hair from the branch. He finally gave up and broke the branch catching the girl in one hand. Sango had already started to dig with her hands, for there were no shovels. Inu yasha didn't move the entire time. He just stood there in horror…wide eyed with his jaw on the ground. He finally fell to his knees clenching his fist then hitting the ground as hard as he could, screaming out loud. They all looked at him in confusion.

"Inu Yasha?" asked miroku… "Are you ok? What's wrong?"

He didn't respond, just walked over and started to help sango dig the grave. It went by much faster than expected because of inu yasha's dog like abilities. By time they had finished the girl had fainted in kagome's arms and the sun had started to set. They decided to walk a little more, away from the haunting memories of the dead girl. Finally they came upon a village…

"What a lucky break." Shippo said aloud, breaking the silence.

Miroku sad face turned into a devilish one… "I feel an ominous dark cloud over head…I should warn them." He walked ahead of the group.

"Should we fallow?" asked sango. They glanced at each other…then chased after him. Kagome turned back to inu yasha who was behind everybody, staring off into space. His face was so depressing that kagome wanted to cry just by looking at him. He was in pain, but why?

"Come on slowpoke." Kagome yelled, begging him to follow. He looked up at her then glanced away.

Inu Yasha was sitting on to roof, above the room where kagome, sango, and shippo rested. Kirara was watching the young girl as she slept in another room. Miroku was talking to the head man while blessing the small village.

Suddenly there was a knocking at the door.

"Come in," yelled sango.

"Excuse me, but dinner is ready. Shall I let them in?" a small nervous man poked his head through the door as if to try to shield himself.

"Oh by all means please do so" kagome had a huge smile on her face.

"Very well" he clapped and seven girls walked in with their delicious meal.

A few hours had passed and they all had gone to sleep, except for miroku. He was uneasy due to the strange energy. It seemed to have gotten stronger as they entered the village. He felt as if something was trying to get into his mind. Suddenly a gust of wind came into the room. Miroku stood up as it came near him. He threw his sutras at it but, it didn't work. The wind went right into him knocking him unconscious. The sound of his body hitting the floor woke up Inu Yasha…he jumped off the roof and ran into the house.

"Hey miroku" he called as he made it just in time to watch the wind turn green and enter kagomes mouth, forcing kagome's soul out. It suddenly disappeared.

"Kagome!" He tried to run to there but a barrier was placed around her. Inu Yasha went flying back though the wall. Kagome was lifted into the air by unseen force, bringing her to her feat. Sango and shippo woke to see inu yasha jumping back into the room starring at kagome in fear. He felt a preasance behind him he turned to see kikyo standing there smiling.

"Kagome? Inu Yasha, what's wrong with kagome" Shippo screamed.

"Kagome NO!" sango yelled as kagome ran toward her, holding a bow in her hand; Preparing to stab her. Sango jumped out of the way causing kagome to just graze right sholder. "ahh" sango screamed in pain. Blood instantly flowed freely from the wound. Sango stands up and runs to another part of the room. Shippo ran to Miroku shaking him, trying to wake him up. He fails.

Inu Yasha didn't take his eyes off kikyo.

"I am here for you inu yasha. Its time to make our departure"

Inu yasha looks down in confusion "departure to where"

"You know where inu yasha…come now. Let's go live together in the depths of hell. You belong by my side"

He heard sango scream. He turned to see sango running from kagome holding her shoulder. He turns back to kikyo "I can't go with you. I promised to protect somebody…" He looked down ashamed, not wanting to finish.

"That girl…that pathetic copy of mine" she screams.

He didn't answer. "You are already dead, I can no longer protect what isn't living" He turns from her "good bye kikyo" he runs toward the hut, you'll always be in my heart…my kikyo…

She just stood there, heart broken…betrayed once again by the deviant half-bread; Watched them struggle with the soulless kagome. Suddenly her body ached as she fell to the ground. That girl…

Inu Yasha was now trying to get close to kagome, but the barrier was too strong. Kagome began to shake…she fell to her knees. She grabbed her bow and aimed for inu yasha. Sango stepped between them. "No Kagome!" she screamed as loud as she could, Waking Miroku!

He gasped as he launched himself up. "kagome, fight it." Sango, shippo, and inu yasha look at him as if he were nuts. Miroku never took his eyes off her.

"What the hell are you yelling about miroku?" Inu yasha screams and he steps infront of sango. He was wearing his fear and confusion on his face.

"Do you know what's happening to kagome?"

"She's fighting kikyo in another world" He said, still not taking his eyes off kagome.

"Another world?" asked sango

"What the heck are you talking about monk?" inu yasha began to scream "what other world?"

"Kagome is fighting to keep her soul…Kikyo did this!" his voice deepened. "kagome if fighting her in another world. Trying to keep her soul."

Inu Yasha turns to see that kikyo was kneeling on the ground holding her head. "kikyo" he said running to her side. "Give back kagome's soul!" he screams at her. She doesn't even acknowledge his presence. He wraps his arms around her. Sango and Shippo are looking in amazement and disgust. Kikyo screams then disappears. Inu Yasha falls to the ground, with kikyo no where to be found.
