Chapter 4

Late Night Date

"Where have you been? I've been looking everywhere for you. This hentai is driving me crazy." Sango said.

"Gomen Sango." Kagome said.

"Shall we go meet Sesshomaru?" Miroku asked. He had a slap mark on the side of his face.

"You never stop, do you?" Inuyasha asked. Him and Miroku were a little behind the girls.

"Not until she's mine." Miroku smiled. "What about you? You seem to have done something."

"How can you tell?" Inuyasha asked.

"I've known you for a long time. Little goes past me when it comes to you." Miroku said. "So what did you do?"

"I told Kagome that I'd take her away." Inuyasha said.

"Take her away? Where?" Miroku asked.

"Anywhere as long as its away from here. She's miserable here. She doesn't want to marry Naraku. He ripped her away from her family." Inuyasha explained.

"You're going to start a war over this." Miroku said. "If Naraku ever finds out-"

"He won't." Inuyasha said. "He's never around anyway so he shouldn't find out."

"Sesshomaru's not going to be happy about this." Miroku said.

"Not going to be happy about what?" Sesshomaru asked.

"Nothing." Inuyasha said.

"Surprising, you're on time." Sesshomaru said.

"Let's just go." Inuyasha said.

They all went to the stables they'd left their horses at. They got on their horses and headed back towards the castle.

As soon as they got to the castle, lunch was already waiting for them. They all went to the dining room and ate. After everyone was done eating they went their separate ways. Sango went to go train, and Miroku followed her. Sesshomaru went to take care of some business in his bedroom.

Kagome made her way to the gardens. With Naraku preoccupied with work she got more time with herself. Once she made it to the gardens she sat down on a bench. She couldn't stop thinking about what Inuyasha said. Had he meant it, or was he just messing with her?

"Kagome."

She turned around to see who had called her. It was Inuyasha. "Hi, Inuyasha."

He walked over and sat down next to her. Neither of them said anything for a while. Inuyasha decided to speak after a while. "Kagome, about earlier. I was serious." He said.

"Why?"

"I don't know why. I know I haven't known you for long and I don't know much about you. I can't help it." Inuyasha said.

"If Naraku ever finds out, he'll be furious. He's very jealous." Kagome said.

"Like I care." Inuyasha snorted.

"I should go. If we spend too much time together Naraku will get mad." Kagome said. She stood up to leave.

Inuyasha grabbed her arm and pulled her into his lap. "Inuyasha, let go." Kagome said trying to get out of his embrace.

"What are you so afraid of?" Inuyasha asked.

Kagome stopped struggeling. "That you'll get hurt. The last time some guy paid attention to me he was hurt and I never saw him again. He didn't even know I lived in the castle or anything and he still got hurt." She said.

"Keh, like that bastard could hurt me." Inuyasha said.

"Inuyasha let me go." Kagome said.

"Only if you meet me here again tonight." Inuyasha said.

Seeing that he wasn't lying she agreed. "Fine, when?" Kagome asked.

"When the moon is at its highest." Inuyasha said.

"Okay, I'll meet you then."

"Promise."

"I promise I'll meet you tonight." Kagome said. Inuyasha let her go, satisfied with her answer. Kagome got off of him and ran to her room.

As soon as she got to her room she changed her clothes. If Naraku smelled Inuyasha so close to her he'd get angry. She changed into a white outfit similar to the one she had on but it revealed her stomach and the skirt was a little shorter.

Someone knocked on the door just as she finished changing. "Coming." Kagome said. She walked over and opened the door. "Oh Sango. Did you need something?"

"Naraku wants to see you." Sango said. "He said he will be waiting in his room."

"Okay." Kagome said. She stepped out of her room and shut the door. She made her way down the hallway to Naraku's room. She knocked on the door.

"Come in." He said.

"Sango said you wanted to see me?" Kagome said.

"Ah yes, Sesshomaru and I have some urgent business to take care of with the other lords. Some rumors of a war have been spreading and we both must be present to fix these misunderstandings. We'll be gone for about three days or so. I'll send news if I come earlier." Naraku said.

"Hai." Kagome said.

"We leave as soon as I'm packed." Naraku said.

Kagome nodded her understanding. "Does this mean Inuyasha-sama and Miroku-sama will be staying here while you both are away?" She asked.

"Yes, be sure to keep them entertained." Naraku said.

"Of course." Kagome said.

"Naraku-sama, everything is ready and Sesshomaru-sama is downstairs waiting." An attendant said from the other side of the door.

"Tell him I'll be downstairs momentarily." Naraku said. He turned back to Kagome. He leaned in for a kiss but Kagome turned her head so he kissed her cheek. He pulled back and smiled. "We'll talk about the wedding when I get back."

Kagome smiled and walked out of the room with him. He wrapped his arm around her waist and headed downstairs. They met Sesshomaru at the bottom of the stairs. Inuyasha and Miroku were also with him.

"Well, I assume Inuyasha and Miroku know." Naraku said.

"They know. They were just seeing me off." Sesshomaru said.

"Keh." Inuyasha said.

"Well, we'll see you all in a couple of days." Naraku said. He leaned over and kissed Kagome on the cheek again.

Naraku and Sesshomaru both walked out the front door and into the carriage that awaited them. Once they were gone and out of sight Kagome rubbed her cheek. Both Inuyasha and Miroku saw and exchanged looks.

"I guess you were right." Miroku said.

"Right about what?" Kagome asked.

"Oh nothing. I think I'm going to find Sango." Miroku said and left.

Inuyasha and Kagome were left alone in the hallway. "Well, I'm going to my room now." Kagome said and started walking.

Inuyasha grabbed her arm. "No, your not. You promised to meet me later tonight, and now that Naraku's gone we can meet earlier." He said as he started dragging her towards the gardens.

"You said later." Kagome said.

"It doesn't matter. Naraku's gone for a while." Inuyasha said. To make her go faster he picked her up and threw her over his shoulder.

"Okay Inuyasha, I'll come. You don't have to do it like this." Kagome said.

Inuyasha wouldn't let her down though. He just kept heading towards the gardens. Kagome sighed and just let him carry her to the gardens. Once they made it to the gardens he set Kagome down on the bench they were on earlier.

"Why did you want me to meet you here?" Kagome asked.

"To get to know you better." Inuyasha said.
