Tragic Love Triangle
Chapter 5
Creating A Bond
"What do you want to know?" Kagome asked.
"Everything." Inuyasha said.
"That's a lot you know." Kagome said. "My life isn't that interesting."
"Doesn't matter I want to know." Inuyasha replied.
"Well before I came here I lived with my Okaa-san, Ji-chan, and little brother." Kagome began. "Otou-san died when I was young from some kind of disease. Ji-chan managed a shrine and began to teach me on how to become a miko."
"Then Naraku brought you here right?" Inuyasha asked. "What happened?"
"Hai, one day I was on my way to the shrine when men on horses charged past me. I was knocked over and almost trampled. Naraku was on the only black horse. He yelled at the men who knocked me over. He took a good look at me and smiled. Without warning he lifted me up onto his horse and said that I was off limits to everyone." Kagome said.
"What happened to your family?"
"I don't know. After I was on his horse we rode off to the castle. Once we were there he ordered some servants to clean me up. Later on after I was told to eat I was presented in front of him. He said, `Your young but I'm sure you'll grow up to be beautiful.' He walked towards me and grabbed my chin making me look up to him. Then he said, `And I'll watch as you change.' Since then I've rarely left his side."
"So that bastard ripped you away from your family without so much as a goodbye and forced you to live here!" Inuyasha growled. "Have you asked him if your family was alive?"
"When I asked him last time he said, `It's better not to know since you'll never see them if they happened to be alive.' He forbid me to ever ask anything about my past."
"He hit you for running away. Couldn't he find someone else to be his bride?" Inuyasha asked.
"He said he chose me. That he had plans for me in the future." Kagome said with tears in her eyes.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you relive that." Inuyasha said as he embraced her.
"It's not your fault. It's not something I can forget." Kagome buried her face into his chest taking whatever comfort he offered.
Both Inuyasha sat together in silence until it grew late. Miroku happened to walk in the gardens and interrupt the moment. "So what exactly have you two been up to?" He asked with a lecherous smile on his face.
"Not what your thinking." Inuyasha glared at him.
Kagome blushed and stood up. "It's getting late. I should be going to bed now. I'll see you two at breakfast. Oyasumi Inuyasha, Miroku-sama."
"I've told you before that you don't have to be so formal." Miroku smiled.
"Gomen, it's a habit." Kagome said and quickly ran out of the garden area.
"You just had to stick your nose in where it didn't belong didn't you?" Inuyasha asked.
"What are you talking about?" Miroku asked innocently.
"You know damn well what I'm talking about. I knew you were spying on us." Inuyasha said.
"Well curiosity got the better of me." Miroku said. "So you've taken quite a liking to Kagome I see."
"I told you earlier." Inuyasha said. "I don't want her to be hurt by that bastard."
"You want to save her from this miserable life. Sesshomaru is not going to like this." Miroku sighed.
"He won't find out will he?" Inuyasha threatened.
"Of course not. I meant when he finds out he won't like this." Miroku laughed nervously. "You know if you left now you can catch up with her."
Inuyasha gave him one last glare before taking off out the door and through the hallway.
"Ah saved." Miroku said relieved.
Sniffing out Kagome's scent he smelled her nearby. She had taken her time to her room so he was able to catch up with her quickly. Kagome turned around when she noticed she was being followed. "Inuyasha?" She said.
"Ah, I thought I'd walk you to your room." He said.
"But my room is at the other end of the castle." Kagome said.
"It doesn't matter." Inuyasha said.
"Alright then." Kagome began walking towards her room.
They walked in silence to her room. Inuyasha noticed huge doors at the end of the hallway. "That's your room?" He asked.
"No, that's Naraku's room. I'm right here." She pointed to the room to the right of his.
"You sleep in the room next to him?" Inuyasha said angrily.
"Hai." Kagome opened the door to her room. "I guess you can take a look if you want."
Inuyasha walked into her room and looked around. A huge bed was in the middle of the room against the back wall. There was a large window above her bed. On the left side was a door leading to a balcony. He noticed it connected to Naraku's balcony. Another door was on the wall that connected hers and Naraku's room. Probably connected to his room. A dresser was on the opposite side with a vanity mirror next to it. A bathroom door was on the right side in the corner. The whole room was white and baby blue.
"This is a really nice room. I'm guessing that that door leads to Naraku's room?" Inuyasha pointed to the door on the left.
"Hai." Kagome said. "He sometimes asks me to keep him company while he's reading at night."
"Sick bastard." Inuyasha mumbled so she couldn't hear. He walked to the door and turned to face her.
"I should go to bed now." Kagome said. She reached for the door and was about to shut it when Inuyasha stopped her.
He looked around to see if anyone was around before pushing her into her room with him in front of her. He slammed the door shut and pushed her against it. "I will take you away from here." Inuyasha said. "You won't have to suffer anymore."
"But if Naraku fi-" Kagome was silenced when Inuyasha pressed his lips against hers. She gasped in shock and gave him the chance to invade her mouth with his tongue. A quick taste and Inuyasha was satisfied...for now. He pulled back, looking at Kagome's flushed face.
Without another word Inuyasha moved her away from the door and left with a smile on his face. Sure she didn't respond to the kiss but he hadn't exactly given her the chance. He took it as a good sign since she didn't protest, hit, or push him away. He walked through the castle with a smile on his face.
Kagome stood in front of the door dumbfounded. She had just barely came back to reality. Had he really just kissed her? Her hand slowly reached up and touched her lips. He did but why? He really was serious about taking her away. She would've smiled if she weren't thinking of how furious Naraku would be if he found out. He'd probably kill Inuyasha and punish her.
She didn't care if she was punished. It wouldn't matter to her. She now knew someone who deeply cared for her, even though she hadn't known him long. It felt as if she'd known him all her life. Unknowingly to them a bond had formed between them from their moments alone together.
Finally realizing she was still standing in the middle of the room she changed into a sleeping yukata and laid down. She'd have to talk to Sango about this in the morning. As soon as her head hit the pillow she fell asleep.

The next morning Kagome woke up and got dressed. She changed into a red shirt and a long red skirt. After changing she walked out into the hallway and saw Sango walking towards her room.
"Sango." Kagome called out.
"I was just going to wake you up. Breakfast is almost ready." Sango said.
"Oh well I just got up." Kagome yawned. "I'm going to wake up Inuyasha and Miroku. I'll meet you in the dining room."
"Hai." Sango said and headed downstairs.
Kagome walked to the guest wing and stopped at the closest door, which happened to be Inuyasha's. She knocked on the door and got a gruff answer. "What do you want now you stupid lech..." Inuyasha began.
"Was Miroku bothering you?" Kagome giggled.
"Sorry about that. Yeah that monk has been bothering me all morning." Inuyasha said.
"Well breakfast is ready." She said.
"Oh thanks." Inuyasha said.
Kagome blushed and started towards Miroku's room. Inuyasha grabbed her wrist and swung her around until she was backed up against the wall. He put both hands on either side of her head, leaving no room for escape.
"Don't act like nothing happened last night." Inuyasha said.
"Nothing happened last night." Kagome said and looked away.
"You can't just ignore something like that!" Inuyasha yelled.
"I have too! Naraku won't let something like this go. If he finds out-"
"If he finds out. He won't." Inuyasha said. "So don't act like nothing happened."
Before Kagome could say anything he covered her mouth with hers. She put her hands on his chest to try and push him but he wouldn't budge. He slipped his tongue inside her mouth and her hands fisted in his haori.
"Well, well, well, what have we here?"
Inuyasha and Kagome tore apart from each other quickly in fear of who it was behind them. "MIROKU!" Inuyasha shook his fist.
"What? I didn't do anything? I was just wondering what you were doing." Miroku asked innocently. "So what were you doing? I thought you were Naraku's fiancé."
Kagome blushed and bent her head. Inuyasha could smell the tears coming from Kagome. He glared at Miroku.
"I won't say a thing." Miroku said in reassurance. "I'm on your side. Inuyasha is a much better choice than Naraku."
"I don't have a choice." Kagome said and ran to her room.
Inuyasha growled as he watched Kagome disappear down the hall. "Damn you Miroku." He yelled.
"What did I say?" Miroku asked.
"Just go eat." Inuyasha ordered and headed for Kagome's room.
Miroku just shrugged and decided to go downstairs for breakfast. Maybe Sango was eating breakfast right now. He'd have to try his luck this time. So far nothing he tried had worked.
