Chapter 11

Flushed

Naraku searched everywhere to find Kagome. His servants were proving useless. He was enraged and knew his servants were afraid to approach him. Where in the hell could she have gone?

Then he thought of it. She could've left with someone. Now that he actually thought about her latest actions, she was more distant than usual. Like she was hiding something. Inuyasha accompanied most of the time. Could she have left with him?

His eyes turned red at the thought of that hanyou taking his intended. He tore up the room before calling in a servant. He was going to rip Inuyasha limb from limb.

The next morning Kagome opened her eyes and yawned. She felt someone next to her move and turned her head. She was shocked to see Inuyasha but then remembered that he wanted to keep her `close'.

When it was time to go to sleep Inuyasha led her to his room. Kagome blushed the whole way. Inuyasha just smirked cockily at her. When they got into the bedroom Kagome just stood in front of the bed as Inuyasha walked in his bathroom to change. He came out in a sleeping yukata and waited for Kagome to change.

Kagome stepped out of the bathroom in one of Rin's sleeping yukata's and stood in front of the bed again. Inuyasha gave her a strange look and urged her to lie down. He was already under the covers. Kagome blushed furiously and then nodded. Hesitantly she climbed into bed.

Inuyasha got tired of her taking her time and grabbed her arm, pulling her onto the bed. She squealed and fell onto the bed. Inuyasha pulled the covers over her and wrapped his arms around her waist. He kissed the back of her neck and mumbled good night.

Sighing Kagome tried to roll over. She was stopped when Inuyasha turned her towards him. He smiled arrogantly with his eyes still closed.

"Inuyasha?" Kagome called out to him.

He opened his eyes and pulled her closer to him. He leaned forward and kissed her gently on the lips. When he pulled back he saw a blush on her cheeks. Laughing he sat up.

"Have a good sleep?" He asked.

"H-hai." Kagome stuttered. She sat up and held the blanket between her fingers.

"Let's go get some breakfast." Inuyasha chuckled. He grabbed some clothes and went into the bathroom to change. Kagome did the same afterwards.

When they got to the dining room Sesshomaru, Rin, Miroku, and Sango were already sitting down. "It's about time you arrived." Sesshomaru said.

"Shut up Sesshomaru." Inuyasha glared at him.

"I've gotten some information about Naraku. I just received a note postponing the wedding. Seems his bride has gone missing." Sesshomaru said. He handed the note to Kagome.

Her face paled. He knew she was missing now. What would happen if he found out where she was? Naraku would rip this place apart to find her. She hoped he would just give up on her but it didn't seem like he was going to

Inuyasha grabbed her hand and squeezed it. When she looked up he smiled at her. "Don't worry about it." He said. He should tell her about the information he found out.

After everyone finished eating the girls went to talk in Rin's room while the guys went back to the meeting room. Inuyasha wanted to see if either of them found out any more information. He was pissed at Sesshomaru for showing Kagome the note.

When they got into the room Inuyasha shut the door and everyone sat down. "What's this all about?" Sesshomaru asked.

"Did you find out anymore information?" Inuyasha asked.

"No, I told you I'd let you know if I did." Sesshomaru said.

"You didn't tell me about the note." Inuyasha said angrily.

"If I showed you, you wouldn't have told Kagome. I'm sure you didn't tell her about anything yet have you?" Sesshomaru asked.

"No, she worries enough as it is." Inuyasha said.

"She did just come here and she's probably still adjusting to everything." Miroku said.

"See." Inuyasha said.

"But, she still needs to know. She'll only be angry with you later." Miroku sighed. "I'll be surprised if Sango hasn't said anything yet."

"You told her?" Inuyasha stood up.

"Well of course she's her friend." Miroku said.

"Rin knows too." Sesshomaru said. "You should make her yours soon. That way she'll be safe."

Inuyasha growled at them before taking off to Rin's room. Hopefully he would make it there before they say anything to her.

"What an idiot." Sesshomaru sighed and shook his head.

Inuyasha pounded on Rin's door until she answered. "What is it?" She asked a little perturbed.

"I'm getting Kagome." He said.

Kagome stood up and walked over to the door. "Is something wrong?" She asked.

Inuyasha just grabbed her hand and dragged her away. "Nothing is wrong." He said.

Kagome let herself be dragged to his room. As soon as Inuyasha shut the door he let go of her hand and walked over to the bed. He sat down and stared at the window. "Why did you take me away if all you were going to do is sit here and stare out the window?" She asked.

"We need to talk." Inuyasha sighed.

Kagome laid on the bed face down thinking about what she had just heard. Inuyasha told her everything and she needed some time to think. What was it that she had? She always felt that something was there but could never put her finger onto what it was.

Inuyasha sat next to her rubbing her back. Hoping it would comfort her a little bit. He knew it was a lot to take in. Maybe he should talk to Kaede. She might be able to tell them more about the legend.

"Are you going to be okay?" Inuyasha asked.

"I'll be fine." Kagome said muffled through the pillow.

"Then why are you face down in a pillow?" Inuyasha asked.

"Because." Kagome said.

"That's a great answer." Inuyasha rolled his eyes. Seeing how she didn't want to move he flipped her over so that she was lying on her back.

"Hey, What are you doi-" Kagome was interrupted when Inuyasha lifted her up and threw her over his shoulder. "Hey!"

Inuyasha carried her down the hall, to the stairs, and down another hallway. He carried her through large doors at the end of the hall. Kagome gasped when she saw her surroundings.

Inuyasha had carried her to a garden. It was more beautiful than the ones at Naraku's castle. Everything was so colorful and full of life. "It's beautiful." Kagome said.

He put her down and watched as she looked around. "I thought you'd like it here." Inuyasha said. He hoped her being here would make her forget a little bit about her problems.

"I love it!" Kagome said excitedly. "I love gardens."

"I know." Inuyasha smiled. "I always found you in the gardens."

"It's the only place I could escape even though I wasn't really gone. I was usually left alone there." Kagome said. She sat down to enjoy the flowers.

Inuyasha moved over to her and sat down. He wrapped his arms around her and kissed the back of her neck. "Quit worrying so much about Naraku. I'll take care of you." Inuyasha whispered in her ear.

Kagome turned around and hugged him. "Arigato. I'll try not to worry so much anymore." She said.

Inuyasha held her chin and kissed her gently on the lips.

Naraku walked through his castle ignoring the servants that scurried away from him. Everyone was cautious of him. They were afraid of getting hurt or worse. The whole castle was on alert to find out what had happened to Kagome.

Naraku opened the door to his bedroom and slammed it shut, locking the door. He walked to his desk and pushed it back away from the window. Under the desk was a hidden staircase to the room below. From what anyone else knew there was no room under his.

After walking down the stairs he walked into the room below his. He then pushed back that desk and down another staircase. The stairs led deep into the earth. It was his secret working place.

Once he reached the farthest room he sat down at his desk. "Kagura, Kanna." He called out.

"Hai, Naraku." A woman stepped into the light. She was wearing a kimono and had a feather in her ponytail. She was tall and had black hair. Her eyes were red. And she had a fan in her right hand.

"Hai, Naraku-sama." A girl said. She was short and looked to be about ten years old. She was pale and had long white hair. She held a mirror and showed no emotion on her face.

"Kanna have you traced Kagome's whereabouts yet?" Naraku asked.

The girl nodded and stepped forward. She held the mirror in front of her and the mirror grew bright. Suddenly an image of Kagome showed and Naraku was furious. Kagome was kissing Inuyasha in what he guessed was his castle.

Naraku growled. "Kagura find them now! Kill Inuyasha and bring Kagome back alive!" He yelled.

RogueSummersLover- Basically Kagome doesn't know about the jewel but she knows she has something. Kikyo won't be known in the fic, only to Kaede who is her younger sister and maybe a few others.
