Chapter 13

Rival

"You've failed to bring her back!" Naraku growled.

"I didn't expect the hanyou to show up." Kagura said as she winced from the pain.

"You should've killed him!" Naraku shouted. He held out his hand and a heart appeared in his palm. "Don't forget I hold your life in my hands. Don't fail me."

Kagura held her chest as Naraku lightly squeezed the heart in his hand. "H-hai." She managed to say.

Inuyasha and Kagome both sat down on the bed in his room. Once they were settled Inuyasha turned towards kagome. "Who in the hell was that?" He asked.

"Kagura." Kagome said. "She's Naraku's incarnation."

"Incarnation?" Inuyasha asked confused.

"Naraku's very powerful. He's able to create others from himself. He controls them and they do his bidding. I was surprised to see Kagura come she's usually never seen outside of the castle." Kagome explained.

"I see." Inuyasha said. He looked at Kagome and noticed she hadn't changed out of the ruined kimono. Although he told her it was pointless she still insisted on bandaging him but his wounds were healed now. She ruined her kimono for nothing, not that he was complaining because he got a great view of her legs.

Not being able to resist any longer Inuyasha moved closer and placed his hand on her knee. Slowly he roamed over her smooth legs up to her thigh. Kagome shivered and was about to pull away from embarrassment. Inuyasha grabbed her arm and jumped on top of her.

"We should finish what we started." Inuyasha said with a low voice.

"W-what?" Kagome asked. She heard him. She just didn't believe it.

"We should finish what we started earlier." Inuyasha said as he kissed her neck and continued to rub her leg.

"I-I don't know if I'm ready." Kagome said as her faced turned a bright shade of red.

"I'll stop whenever you want me to." Inuyasha moved up to her lips and gently kissed her.

The hand that was on her leg slowly moved upward and settled on her butt. Kagome gasped in surprise giving Inuyasha a chance to slip his tongue inside. Their tongues moved against each other.

Inuyasha moved away from her lips and smirked at the flushed look on her face. Kagome was embarrassed but what Inuyasha was doing felt too good to let a little embarrassment stop her from enjoying it.

Kagome held in her moans the best she could. Her neck was sensitive and Inuyasha was nipping and kissing it. Inuyasha smirked in arrogance when he finally got her to moan. He loved the noises she made and everything else about her.

A knock on the door ruined everything. "What is it?" Inuyasha growled.

"There's someone here for Kagome." A servant said. "They won't leave unless she comes to see them."

"Have Sesshomaru kick their ass then." Inuyasha yelled.

"Sesshomaru-sama said to get you so you can take care of your own problems." The servant said.

"Fine! We'll be down soon!" Inuyasha growled angrily. He helped Kagome up and grumbled about his brother being a bastard.

"Who would want to see me?" Kagome asked.

"I don't know but nothing is going to happen. I'll be with you." Inuyasha reassured.

Kagome nodded as they walked down the stairs. She was able to change and was now wearing a dark blue kimono. She still tried to think of who would come for her like the servant had said. She only knew Sango.

Once they got downstairs they saw Sesshomaru, Rin, Miroku, and Sango standing in the doorway. "What the hell happened to take care of my own problems? What are you doing here?" Inuyasha asked.

"I just want to see your reaction." Sesshomaru said.

Everyone stepped out of the way and in front of the door stood an ookami. He was tall and had long black hair that was in a ponytail. He wore a metal chest plate and wrist guards. He also had on a fur skirt and fur leg warmers. He had blue eyes and seemed to be very self-centered.

"What the hell do you want?" Inuyasha growled.

"I'm here for a job." The ookami said cockily.

"Which is? Quit bullshitting around Kouga." Inuyasha growled even louder and slowly moved closer to Kagome.

"Ah so that's Naraku's woman." Kouga looked her up and down.

Kagome shivered as she felt his eyes on her. "Who is that?" She whispered to Inuyasha.

"Kouga, prince of the northern ookami clan." Inuyasha explained. "What the hell are you doing down here?"

"I told you I have a job." Kouga smirked. "I'd rather talk to you in private."

"What the hell is so important about this job that's so private?" Inuyasha snapped.

"I'd rather not talk about it in front of everyone." Kouga said. "You can bring the pretty woman with you."

"Kagome, stay here with Sesshomaru." Inuyasha said keeping his eyes on Kouga. "I'll be back."

Kagome nodded and walked over to Rin and Sesshomaru. Inuyasha walked out the door with Kouga and growling could be heard from both of them.

"They know each other?" Kagome asked.

"They were childhood rivals." Miroku pointed out. "They've been fighting for years."

"They're childish." Sesshomaru said. "This will probably end with a fight. They're both evenly matched."

"Isn't Kouga a full youkai?" Kagome asked.

"He is, but Inuyasha's skills match that of a full youkai." Miroku said.

"It's from our strong blood line." Sesshomaru explained. "He's unconventional but he is skilled."

Rin giggled because she knew Sesshomaru hated to compliment his half brother. "Will he be okay then?" She asked.

"That baka will be fine. He won't get too injured." Sesshomaru said coldly. "If you want to watch what's going on you can go up to the second floor balcony."

Worried Kagome wanted to see what was going to happen. "Where is it?" She asked.

Without a word Sesshomaru lead the way upstairs to the balcony. Some tree branches were in the way but you could see both Inuyasha and Kouga clearly. So far neither of them had moved since they got up there.

"What do you want Kouga?" Inuyasha asked. "How do you know Naraku?"

"He's the one I'm working for." Kouga said. "I'm here to take the girl back to him."

"She's not leaving. You can tell Naraku she's mine." Inuyasha growled at the thought of Naraku trying to take her back.

"It doesn't work that way. Besides she's not yours. You haven't claimed her yet." Kouga smirked.

Inuyasha opened his mouth to say something when he heard a scream. He looked behind him and saw wolves up on the balcony attacking Kagome and the others. "Dammit!" He growled. He was about to run over to help when Kouga kicked him in the back.

"Your fight is with me." Kouga said.

Kagome had been watching what was going on with Inuyasha and Kouga. All she could do was watch. They were to far away for her to hear what they were saying. She was worried if they were going to fight like Sesshomaru said.

"Be on your guard." Sesshomaru warned. He moved closer to Rin. "Ookami's are surrounding us."

Miroku held his staff out in front of him and moved to protect Sango because she was unarmed. Rin moved behind Sesshomaru and urged Kagome to do the same. "They're everywhere." Miroku said. The wolves stepped closer and growled.

Sesshomaru easily took out three wolves in front of him. Miroku was doing the same trying to get the ones had climbed into the trees. Obviously these wolves had been trained for this because they were in perfect formation.

Sesshomaru was busy getting wolves away from Rin and failed to notice a wolf come from the tree behind him and knock Kagome to the ground. She kicked it away from her and stood. Slowly the wolf backed her up towards the railing before leaping towards her and knocking her off.

"Kagome!" Rin shouted as she saw her friend fall.

Inuyasha was too busy fighting Kouga to see what was happening behind him. Him and Kouga were doing nothing but blocking and dodging. He just wanted to get rid of Kouga and help Kagome.

He knew it was too late when he heard Kagome scream. Looking behind him he shouted her name and tried to run to her. Once again Kouga kicked him in the back and knocked him to the ground. Kouga laughed and ran towards the falling girl.

Kouga's speed allowed him to catch Kagome before she hit the ground. Stunned Kagome didn't do anything but keep her eyes closed. Slowly she looked up at him. He smirked before throwing her over his shoulder and speeding north.

Inuyasha stood and chased after them but soon lost the whirlwind that Kouga ran in. "Dammit!" Inuyasha yelled. The scent trail was gone too.

After what seemed like an eternity to Kagome, Kouga finally stopped and put her down. She couldn't see anything at the speed they were going. She could only see variations of color. She kept her eyes closed most of the time so she wouldn't get sick.

Gazing around she noticed they were in a cave of some sort. Wolf youkai were sitting around looking at her. "Hey Kouga who's the girl?" One of them said.

"Is she dinner?" Another asked.

Kagome gasped. `I'm going to be eaten?' She consciously stepped away from the one who had asked the question.

Kouga grabbed her arm roughly and brought her closer to him. "She's not anyone's meal. You so much as look at her the wrong way and I'll kick your ass." Kouga growled in warning.

The other wolves backed off a little and avoided looking at Kagome. Kouga shouted. He dragged Kagome towards the back where a loft of hay was. He threw her on it and sat down beside her.

"What do you want with me?" Kagome asked as she folded her arms.

"Naraku sent me to get you. He said to find his woman and bring her back to him." Kouga said.

"I'm not his woman. I'm not going back." Kagome said sternly.

"You have a lot of guts to talk like that especially about Naraku." Kouga smirked. "I like that in a woman. I may have to rethink my deal with Naraku."

"What do you mean?" Kagome asked hoping he was going to take her back to Inuyasha.

"I think I'll keep you as my woman." Kouga said.

"What?" Kagome shouted as she stood, not believing what she had just heard. "You've got to be kidding me."

Kouga stood and looked her in the eyes. "No, I'm not kidding." He said as he wrapped an arm around her. "From now on you're my woman."

As angry as she was Kagome raised her arm and slapped him. The sound echoed throughout the cave. The wolves in the cave all gasped in horror. Some were murmuring about how Kouga was going to kill her now. She hadn't even realized what she had done until she did it.

Kouga put a hand to his cheek, disbelieving what she had just done. A smirk slowly made its way across his face. He always liked strong, stubborn women like Kagome. She was strong too. He could feel the miko aura radiating off of her body.

"You can't treat me like a possession!" Kagome snapped. She was too angry to be scared.

Laughing Kouga just pushed her back down on the hay and sat down beside her. "Ginta, go to Naraku and tell him the deal is off. I'd like to keep her for myself." Kouga said.

Kagome huffed and hoped Inuyasha would come get her soon.
