End To Relaxation

 

The days at the castle went by fast, so far three days and no sign of Naraku. Everyone was taking the time to have fun and get things done for the upcoming attack. Of course Inuyasha was irritated because they had involved Kouga.

 

Any time Kouga was around Inuyasha he made sure to bother him, especially if Kagome was around. She was kind hearted and was always nice to Kouga, which happened to irritate Inuyasha. Kagome never noticed how much it really bugged him. She spent most of her time with Sango and Rin. During the night she was with Inuyasha.

 

Sesshomaru had gathered all the leaders in the meeting room to go over the plans if Naraku were to attack. The wolves would take turns watching for Naraku and tracking his scent if there was the need. Their howls would reach the castle and then the plans would proceed.

 

It had been peaceful until later that morning. The sound of at least twenty wolves howling was heard. Everyone stopped in their tracks waiting for the message. Kagome was in the gardens with Inuyasha they heard the howls.

 

Inuyasha sniffed the air. Youkai. Tons of them were heading towards the castle. Suddenly Kouga jumped on top of the castle walls. “They're here!” He shouted.

 

Inuyasha grabbed Kagome and ran towards the top of the castle. As much as he hated the fact that she was going to fight it was too late to change her mind. Once he got to the top he stopped with her.

 

“Remember to stay up here no matter what happens. If things get worse go to our room and stay there.” Inuyasha said.

 

“I will.” Kagome said. “You be careful too.”

 

Inuyasha leaned down and kissed her passionately. “I love you.” He whispered in her ear.

 

“I love you too.” Kagome smiled and kissed him again.

 

“Inuyasha! Sesshomaru is waiting for you downstairs!” Sango shouted as she reached them.

 

“Be careful!” Inuyasha shouted before jumping out the window to meet Sesshomaru and Miroku outside the castle walls.

 

“Where's Rin?” Kagome asked.

 

“Sesshomaru has her locked downstairs somewhere. She didn't want to leave but she can't fight. Last I saw he was dragging her kicking and screaming downstairs.” Sango said.

 

“It can't be helped.” Kagome said.

 

“Ready Kirara?” Sango asked.

 

Kirara replied with a mewing sound and transformed into her tiger form. “I'm going to go scan the area real quick. I'll be right back.” Sango said as she got on Kirara's back.

 

“Be careful.” Kagome said as she left.

Inuyasha jumped down from the castle wall next to Sesshomaru and Miroku. “They're coming closer.” Sesshomaru said. “Remember not to think of Kagome. It will only distract you and you may never see her again.”

 

“I know.” Inuyasha said. If he worried too much about Kagome then it would distract his fighting and he needed to concentrate.

 

“The same with you for Rin.” Miroku said.

 

“Rin is taken care of for the moment.” Sesshomaru said. “Don't think about Sango. She can take care of herself.”

 

At that moment they all saw Sango flying ahead to check on Naraku's youkai. “I shall do my best.” Miroku said.

 

“Remember don't let them through the castle. When you first see them, Inuyasha you will use the tetsusaiga and eliminate the weak ones quickly.” Sesshomaru reminded him.

 

“I remember.” Inuyasha said.

 

Sango flew down with Kirara. She landed in front of the three. “The wolves are retreating. Naraku is getting closer.” She said.

 

Sesshomaru nodded. “Go up with Kagome. You know what to do.” He said.

 

“Hai.” Sango said and took to the air with Kirara. Her job was to protect Kagome if there was the need and to eliminate any flying youkai that got close to the castle.

 

“When the wolves get here that means Naraku should be in view.” Kouga said as he moved to the front. “Ginta and Hakkaku know their roles and are ready.”

 

“Then that means all we have to do is wait.” Sesshomaru said.

 

Soon enough Kouga's wolves were in sight and stopped when they got near the front lines. After that Naraku's people came into view. There were hundreds of youkai. They all stopped about twenty feet in front of them. Naraku walked out in the front.

 

“So the moment comes.” He laughed. “Your lands and Kagome will be mine by the end of the day.”

 

“She'll never be yours Naraku!” Inuyasha growled.

 

“Don't let him bait you.” Sesshomaru said to Inuyasha. He turned and glared at Naraku. “My lands will never belong to you. I've been aware of your intentions since the night you announced your engagement.”

 

“You were always clever.” Naraku said. “I knew this war would happen sooner or later. The only thing is that Kagome can't become of use for me to use against you.”

 

“You won't lay a fucking hand on MY mate!” Inuyasha growled violently.

 

“That will change once your all dead!” Naraku shouted. He lifted his hands and the youkai behind him roared and charged.

 

Inuyasha held up the tetsusaiga and watched it transform before swinging it towards the enemy. “Kaze no Kizu!”

 

Immediately a hundred of the weak youkai were destroyed from the blast. By then the other youkai had a chance to get closer. Sesshomaru used his whip and poison claws. Miroku used a combination of his staff and ofuda. Kouga used his speed to get around and use a katana.

 

Sango was in the air taking down most of the flying youkai. Kagome also helped out by creating arrows and hitting whatever came close to her. There weren't many youkai taking to the air so they weren't too preoccupied. Soon enough the flying youkai were eliminated.

 

“I'm going to help out down at the ground. I'll come back up to check on you.” Sango said. “Let's go Kirara!”

 

Kagome waited for any opportunity to help out. Inuyasha seemed to be doing fine on his own. Her side seemed to be doing fine. She saw another line of youkai heading for the front. She held out her hands and formed an arrow. The light grew brighter than her previous arrows. She shot it towards the new line of youkai.

 

Once it landed on the ground the power spread out and took out a good majority of Naraku's youkai. Everyone around was shocked. No one knew Kagome had that much power. She was the only one who could do it since she was the only miko besides Kaede and she had been evacuated days ago.

Naraku watched from a safe distance as his youkai were killed one by one. He was losing and he knew it. He hated losing, especially in the situation he was in now. He needed a way to get to Kagome. If he couldn't have her then no one would and he would take what he wanted in the first place. At least then he could turn the battle around.

 

“Kagura.” He said.

 

“Hai.” Kagura said as she dropped in front of him from the trees.

 

“I think its time to get Kagome.” Naraku said. “You know what to do.”

 

“Hai.” Kagura said. She took the feather in her hair and threw it to the ground. It transformed into a large feather and she used it to fly.

 

Once she reached the air she saw the fighters on the ground were preoccupied with fighting. She used the distraction to her advantage and flew towards the castle without any problems. That is until Sango caught sight of her.

 

Sango rode Kirara up towards Kagome and threw her hiraikotsu at her. Kagura waved her fan and the large boomerang fell to the ground. Sango came up close behind her and used the katana that was tied around her waist.

 

Kagura sighed and waved her fan. This time a stronger gust of wind. Sango and Kirara both stumbled in the air backwards several feet. Kirara did her best to gain control and tried to make sure Sango wouldn't fall off of her back.

 

Seeing that the nuisance was out of the way Kagura made her way up to the castle. She landed in front of Kagome. “Well, well look who joined the fight.” Kagura laughed.

 

“What do you want Kagura?” Kagome asked. Her wrist still hurt from the last time she met Kagura. She wouldn't be able to use her arrows for much longer.

 

“Naraku has sent me to get you. He's tired of waiting.” Kagura said.

 

“You mean he's tired of losing?” Kagome asked.

 

“Either way he sent me.” Kagura said. “Your mate is too busy fighting to even know I'm up here.”

 

Without warning Kagura grabbed her and jumped onto the feather. “If you don't want to fall down I suggest you hold on.” Kagura laughed. They were already too high in the air. If Kagome fell she would fall and die.

 

As Kagura said no one noticed that she was missing. Sango couldn't catch sight of the two. She hurried to tell Inuyasha. Inuyasha noticed after a while when her scent was closer. “What the hell?” He said to himself.

 

“Inuyasha!” Sango said. “Someone's gotten a hold of Kagome!”

 

“Dammit!” Inuyasha shouted. He fought his way towards Kagome's scent.

Kagura dropped Kagome in front of Naraku. Kagome stumbled and landed on her wrist. She hissed and held her wrist up. “Hello Kagome.” Naraku smiled.

 

“Naraku.” Kagome said.

 

“It's been a long time hasn't it?” He said.

 

“What do you want?” Kagome asked.

 

“You.” Naraku said. “I went through a lot of trouble for you.”

 

“Only to use me!” Kagome shouted.

 

“Now I honestly wouldn't use you.” Naraku said.

 

“Liar! You only wanted me for the Shikon no Tama!” Kagome shouted. “You won't get it!”

 

Naraku growled and grabbed her injured wrist, bringing her face closer to his. She screamed in pain and he smiled. “Well it seems like you're in pain. This never would've happened if you hadn't left.” He said.

 

“I would've killed myself if I was forced to stay with you.” Kagome said through the pain.

 

“Oh it pains me to hear that.” Naraku smiled.

 

“Why don't you just leave?” Kagome asked.

 

“Not until I get what I want.” Naraku said.

 

“You have me.” Kagome said.

 

“I'll leave when the hanyou is dead.” Naraku said.

 

“You say hanyou like you aren't one.” Kagome said.

 

Naraku grew angry. He wanted the Shikon no Tama for the reason to become a full youkai. He hated that he was a hanyou. In anger he tightened his grip on her wrist. He smiled when she fell to the ground and screamed.

 

“Kagome!” Inuyasha shouted when he saw her.
