Chapter 7

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Meetings-Part 2 ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Destiny ran out on the large wooden stage with a black microphone in her hand. Leo, Tora, and Kiro ran out with their guitars and Kitch came out last with his hot pink drum sticks. The crowed cheered as they watched the band enter the stage, some girls jumped up and down waving large signs with the boys names, some daring girls were waving their bras over their heads. All the guys were clamoring for Destiny's attention.

“HELLO EVERYONE!” Destiny yelled through the microphone. The crowed just cheered louder; the band even heard a couple `I love you's for both the guys and Destiny.

“How are all of you today?” Kitch leaned towards the mike by his drum set. He had chosen to wear a white muscle shirt and black jeans, the crowd grew louder.

“Glad to hear.” Kiro said as a bunch of papers with phone numbers were thrown at them. He wore a long sleeved dark purple shirt under a black t-shirt, with black jeans. Chains hung off the side of his pants.

“So we're here today as a favor for the Hyama's. So our first song will be Bad Reputation sung by our own Destiny Higurashi. This is one of her favorites,” Tora introduced the song before they started playing. He had forgone his shirt and had just wore a pair of jeans. Destiny stepped up and winked at the guys to begin.

I don't give a damn 'bout my reputation
You're living in the past it's a new generation
A girl can do what she wants to do and that's
What I'm gonna do
An' I don't give a damn ' bout my bad reputation

Oh no, not me

An' I don't give a damn 'bout my reputation
Never said I wanted to improve my station
An' I'm only feelin' good
When I'm havin' fun
When I don't have to please no one
An' I don't give a damn
'Bout my bad reputation

Oh no, not me
Oh no, not me

I don't give a damn
'Bout my reputation
I've never been afraid of any deviation
An' I don't really care
If I'm strange
I ain't gonna change
An' I'm never gonna care
'Bout my bad reputation

Oh no, not me
Oh no, not me

Break it down!

The guys broke out all the moves they knew while playing Destiny jumped off the stage and ran in front of the crowd, high-fiying hundreds of people on her away to the other side of the stage. Destiny put the mike back to her mouth and started to sing when the boys were done their guitar break-down.

An' I don't give a damn
'Bout my reputation
The world's in trouble
There's no communication
An' everyone can say
What they want to say
It never gets better anyway
So why should I care
'Bout a bad reputation, anyway
Oh no, not me
Oh no, not me
Oh no, Not Me,
oh no, not me

“Hey! That's totally me! Have you seen my record at school? Man, I don't even wear the girl uniform!” Destiny laughed when the song ended. “Now I'm turning the mike over to my boyfriends, just kidding guys. So here you are The Anthem. Destiny walked over to the side of the stage as the guys began to play.
Yeah!...here we go.

It's a new day, but it all feels old
It's a good life, that's what I'm told
But everything, it all just feels the same
At my high school, it felt more to me like a jail cell, a penitentiary
My time spent there it only made me see

That I don't ever wanna be like you
I don't wanna do the things you do
I'm never gonna hear the words you say
and I don't ever wanna.
I don't ever wanna be.you.
don't wanna be just like you
What I'm saying is this is the anthem
throw all your hands up
you.don't wanna be you

Go to college, a university, get a real job
That's what they said to me
But I could never live the way they want
I'm gonna get by and just do my time
Out of step while they all get in line
I'm just a minor threat, so pay no mind

Do you really want to be like them,
Do you really wanna be another trend,
Do you wanna be part of that crowd
cause I don't ever wanna.
I don't ever want to be you.
don't wanna be just like you
what I'm saying is.this is the anthem
throw all your hands up.you.
don't wanna be you.

(Shake it once, that's fine, shake it twice that's okay.
shake it 3 times your playing with yourself again.)

you.
don't wanna be just like you,
what I'm saying is..this is the anthem
throw all your hands up
y'll got the feeling, sing if you're with me
you.don't wanna be just like you (just like you)
This is the anthem, throw all your hands up
y'll got the feeling, sing if your with me
Another loser anthem (whoa) 4x

A young man with messy brown hair slipped into the large crowd as he saw the band walk onto the stage. He was clothed in his regular jeans and dark green shirt. His brown eyes were hidden behind black sunglasses in the mid-day sun.

“Your Highness?”

Numair turned around to face a tall man, in his early twenties. His long silvery white hair was tied back. Keimaru's golden eyes looked down into Numair's deep brown. The man bowed lightly towards him. Numair nodded and bowed back.

“Yes, I am him. You're the one your father sent?” Numair asked him.

“Yes, father asked me to assort you today,” Keimaru replied.

“Very well, I came mostly to watch out for her,” he jerked his head over towards the stage.

“Of course. I think I met her one day; she was getting a tattoo the same day I did. Nice girl. I'd date her if she wasn't so young and if my father let me,” Keimaru looked at the young woman on the stage.

Numair cracked a smile and started laughing uncontrollably; he had to hold his sides after a minute. Keimaru stared at the prince, wondering what was so funny.

“Sorry…Kei…maru…but…” he started to laugh again. “She…is…your…your…COUSIN!” Numair finally got out what he found so funny.

“She's WHAT!” Keimaru mouth opened and closed. He was at a loss for words.

“His highness said that his ward was our cousin, you poor excuse for a sheepdog,” a woman's voice came from behind Keimaru. Sky walked from behind her elder brother to curtsy at Numair. “Your Highness, I apologize that you have spent any time with my idiotic elder brother.”

“No problem, Miss, and please, call me Numair. I don't believe in using formal terms,” Numair explained.

“Of course, I am Inunotasho Sky, and am sadly the younger sister to this flea-bag.”

Numair chuckled as Keimaru shot his sister an evil glare. “Nice to make your acquaintance Sky.”

“I suggest we move this to a more secluded place, maybe the mansion?” the young female inu-youkai pointed to the large building.

“No, I want to get closer, they're almost done. I have to stay and watch.” he replied, and then headed for the stage with the two youkai close behind.

“All right everyone, these are the last two songs. Some of you might remember about three years a girl by the name of Fenikkusu Phoenix was shot and killed, it so happened that she was my best friend, the best I ever had. She was a sister to me,” Destiny said with a slight quiver in her voice, old wounds came closer to the surface as she spoke. Tightening her grip on the microphone she continued.

“For a couple of years, her father had abused her and her mother, even after her mother's death. She was too afraid to go to authorities so she asked me one day to sing her favorite song that she wrote if anything would happen to her, to remind everyone these things happen, and so she would always be with me. So right now I will honor her wishes and sing her favorite song. The first is hers. It's `I'm ok.'

Once upon a time there was a girl
In her early years she had to learn
How to grow up living in a war that she called home
Never know just where to turn for shelter from the storm
Hurt me to see the pain across my mother's face
Everytime my father's fist would put her in her place
Hearing all the yelling I would cry up in my room
Hoping it would be over soon

Bruises fade father, but the pain remains the same
And I still remember how you kept me so afraid
Strength is my mother for all the love she gave
Every morning that I wake I look back toyesterday
And I'm OK

I often wonder why I carry all this guilt
When it's you that helped me put up all these walls I've built
Shadows stir at night through a crack in the door
The echo of a broken child screaming "please no more"
Daddy, don't you understand the damage you have done
To you it's just a memory, but for me it still lives on

Bruises fade father, but the pain remains the same
And I still remember how you kept me so, so afraid
Strength is my mother for all the love she gave
Every morning that I wake I look back to yesterday

It's not so easy to forget
All the lines you left along her neck
When I was thrown against cold stairs
And every day I'm afraid to come home
In fear of what I might see there

Bruises fade father but the pain remains the same
And I still remember how you kept me so afraid
Strength is my mother for all the love she gave
Every morning that I wake I look back to yesterday
And I'm OK
I'm OK

As the music stopped, Destiny saw a couple of people crying. She waited until she knew her voice would sound close to normal to introduce the next song.

“Ok, this will be the last one. This is one that became close to me after that day, its `Slipped Away.'

Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na Na
I miss you
Miss you so bad
I don't forget you
Oh it's so sad

I hope you can hear me
I remember it clearly

The day you slipped away
Was the day
I found it won't be the same
Oh

Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na

I didn't get around to kiss you
Goodbye on the hand
I wish that I could see you again
I know that I can't
Oh

I hope you can hear me
I remember it clearly

The day you slipped away
Was the day
I found it won't be the same
Oh

I've had my wake up
Won't you wake up
I keep asking why
I can't take it
It wasn't fake
It happened you passed by

Now you're gone
Now you're gone
There you go
There you go
Somewhere I can't bring you back
Now you're gone
Now you're gone
There go you
There go you
Somewhere you're not coming back

The day you slipped away
Was the day
I found it won't be the same
Oh

The day you slipped away
Was the day
I found it won't be the same
Oh

Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na

I miss you

Looking down she closed her eyes to take everything in. `I did it, I did it for you Phoenix.'

“See you later guys, I'm going home and flopping on the couch,” Kiro said while placing his guitar into its case.

“Yeah same here. Night guys. My ride's here,” Tora waved before he walked over and got into his car.

“Hey Dest, you need a ride?” Leo stopped in front of her on his way to the motorcycle.

“Nope, but thanks, I want to walk home today.”

Leo shrugged and waved bye. “Well night, have fun.”

“You know I will,” Destiny watched as her friends left down the long driveway.

“Hey kid, can you move?” a gruff voice came from behind her.

Destiny looked up from her seat on the stage steps to see a worker carrying a large load of cords. She stood up and reached for the pile, grabbing about half. “Where you want these?” she asked.

He grunted and started heading over towards a truck with supplies. After dropping off the cords and a wave to some people, Destiny started her long hike back home.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ *~*~*~*~

The walk took a long hour until Destiny climbed up the impossible stairs leading to the shrine. Once she jumped over the last step and headed towards the house, Destiny felt something wasn't right. Following her own two feet, they brought her to the empty well house that was on the grounds. `What the hell's in here?'

She cautiously crept up the old wooded stairs. Each creaked in protest at the weight after many years. Once at the top of the couple stairs, Destiny came face to face with the wooded doors. Surprisingly they were cracked open a tad, like someone had been there recently. Destiny slowly opened the doors, each moaned its protest.

“Hello? Is anyone here?” Destiny quietly called out. She took a step inside and another; finally she reached the well in the middle of the building.

“Meow!”

Destiny jumped at the sound, looking down the well she spotted an object moving in the well at the bottom.

“Pyro, how in the devil did you get down there?” she was half over the well before a fuzzy body moved against her body. Her golden-brown eyes snapped open. `If that's Pyro…then what's down there?'

“DIE YOU HALF-BREED!” a large thing shot up from the well, making Destiny fly off the well and land feet away. She heard a hissing sound and hoped that Pyro was fine. When her vision straightened she looked up to see a large worm-like thing with thousands of legs and the top-half of a man attached to the top.

“WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU?!” she screamed as she dodged the thing as it lunged at her, its mouth open and huge fangs bared, getting a bunch of wood instead of flesh.

“I'm a demon you stupid half-breed! Much better then…” the thing was cut off…well actually cut in half. Destiny leaped up from her spot on the dirt ground and slowly walked up to the dead demon. Something moved in the dark on the other side of the room. A shimmer of light caught her eye. The figure rose to full height, and crept towards her; it slowly sheathed its weapon as it neared.

“That thing was wrong you know…demons are much stupider then half demons,” he said. Coming into the little light they had, Destiny saw the familiar brown hair and eyes and smiled, but frowned as she spotted the red seeping through the cloth on his shoulder.

“You jackass! Why the hell are you here? You didn't have to do that; I could have taken care of it myself. And look, you're bleeding now,” Destiny exclaimed.

Numair just raised an eyebrow at her and strode past her to take a seat on the old steps. He heard her breath take a stumble as he raised his bloody shirt over his head to uncover the single wound on his shoulder, as well as his finely build chest. Numair pointed to it as he said “This…this is nothing, Baby-Girl.”

Silence took over the well house before Destiny answered. “How do you know people call me that name?”

“What…you mean Baby-Girl?” all he got was a nod as she took a seat beside him and looked at the wound.

“What? Are you afraid of blood or something?” Numair asked.

“No!” Destiny lightly slapped him on the arm. “I ain't afraid of anything. It's just every time I see you, you have some type of wound…are you always this clumsy or does it just run in the family?”

“Humph…no. It does not run in the family. Can you picture my parents as clumsy…think not,” Numair looked at her.

“Well I don't know your parents…Your Majesty,” Destiny smirked at the surprised face.

“You know?”

“Well duh. I saw you that one night…didn't I? It was more like dream, but I saw you and some other ladies,” she stopped her babble as she spotted some blood roll down his arm. “We should get that cleaned up you know.”

“No, it will be gone within the hour. I heal quick…even faster then normal demons.”

She turned her gaze from his arm to face. “So those things are real huh? Great-grandpa wasn't lying.”

“Nope,” Numair answered.

“And your one of them?” she ventured farther.

“Nope…well kinda,” He leaned back against the next step up and let his eyes close.

“How do you mean `kinda'?”

“I'm a half demon…but I'm not half human.”

“Then what is your other half then?” Destiny reached out towards his and brushed his hair off his face.

“You're taking this very well you know…most girls would have screamed or fainted.”

“I always believed that there were greater beings living among humans. And I guess demons count. But don't avoid my question…what is your other half?”

Numair turned his head so it faced her and opened his eyes. “I'm half god.” (A/n: I would so stop here...but you all knew that so it wouldn't be an effective ending.)

“Like as in all powerful gods and goddesses?” her golden-brown eyes lit up.

“Well yeah. My mom is the god half of me,” Numair turned his head again and resumed his half asleep pose.

“And your dad?” Destiny asked and leaned into the same position. Her eyes traced his profile as she waited.

“He's dead. Has been for a long time. Before I was born. He was an Inu-youkai, a demon, a general in the feudal era. He was very powerful and a good friend of another demon who you will get to know later. It's kinda sad…I don't even know his name.”

“Nether do I.” she whispered.

“I know. I know everything about you Baby-Girl. It's my job.” Numair inched his hand towards hers and took a hold of it.

“Do you know about them?” Destiny squeezed his hand, feeling the calluses on them.

“Yeah…I do. But I can't tell. I'm sorry,” he whispered.

“What can you tell me? Can you say why you're here?”

“Yeah. I was send as your guardian. You're special, Destiny Higurashi. You have a lot of work ahead…but I know you can do It,” the young hanyou rose from his spot on the stairs and dropped his hold on her hands.

“You're leaving?” She sat up and looked at him. By now the moon had full rose, the light by the almost full moon played off his gentle face.

“Yeah, but I'll be around if you call. But I warn you, Destiny, things are going to happen soon, but always know,” he pulled her up to his level before he continued, his face close to hers. “you can always count on me.”

Destiny locked eyes with him, and then closed them as they kissed. A few seconds later, she felt the warmth leaving her. Opening her eyes…she found he was gone.

`I hope I can.'

Hey people, Angel here. I'm sooooo totally sorry that I haven't written in a while. But I've had total writers block and have had NO motivation what so ever. But tonight my parents are gone so I promised my self I would get it done…and here it is, my longest chapter. I really hope that you readers are enjoying it, and I'm quite sad if you don't.

Thanks to my sisterand my editor Skylilyfor helping correct the chap and my one friend for reviewing. I really would like it if more people did review, I find that I don't update if I know that no one is looking forward to it, and I fell like I have failed as an author…but never mind my babble and happy reading.
